Cibo Brighton in Brighton and Hove

As I was planning a weekend in Brighton, I did some research on Tripadvisor and drew up a shortlist of five outstanding Italian restaurants. Some of them offered high-end Italian cuisine which is fine but there are always certain dishes I look for when considering an Italian restaurant and they didn't offer them as menu options. Given this criteria, I decided upon Cibo and was not disappointed in the least. I decided to book a table well in advance and it's just as well I did as it was very busy upon arrival. The greeting was friendly; the service attentive and we were shown to a table near the kitchen. We both elected to start with tricolore which was exactly as it should be: each constituent ingredient being superb. My wife then went for the pollo al funghi which she absolutely devoured: had she have had the nerve, it's possible she would have licked the plate! I chose the canelloni which was spot-on: not too tomatoey, very tasty and seasoned to perfection. We rounded-off our meals with my eternal Italian dessert choice tiramisu and bannofee: both were great examples. Even the chilled-to-perfection limoncello was just right. Washed down with a fine vegan Ombrellino pinot grigio, Cibo played its coup-de-grace and we left well-satisfied, even pleased that the high standard of food, drink and service had come in just over the £100 mark. That may sound expensive but it proved to be excellent value for our meals and the overall experience.

Great traditional Italian food at a fair price. With so many local eateries offering food from virtually every corner of the globe we nearly passed CiBo...really glad we didn't. Didn't have a booking but we were warmly welcomed and the service and food was great

We visited this restaurant during Bank holiday weekend. The restaurants in the town were extremely busy and we hadn’t booked in advance so we were really pleased to find this gem tucked away little way off of the sea front. The restaurant didn’t disappoint . The interior is modern, well decorated and was very relaxing to be in. The staff were welcoming and service was efficient. The menu was exciting and had plenty to choose from. I had a chicken Caesar salad and it was really delicious- very flavourful and just what I had hoped for. I think the restaurant would be great for large groups as it was spacious and very accessible which as a wheelchair user is really appreciated. (I’m not sure that an accessible toilet was available) We would definitely return if we were in Brighton again. Thank you for a lovely evening meal!

Cibo is one of our favourite "local" Italian restaurants in Brighton, we have visited multiple times and the food has always been spot on. The restaurant has recently had a refurbishment and the atmosphere is clean, bright and very relaxing. Every dish is authentic and full of flavour, highly recommend adding the burrata :) the Melanzane Parmigiana is the best I have ever tasted in the UK! Overall, highly recommended!!

Been here 3 times and would give the food five stars but the whole experience has been marred on each occasion by the front of house manageress who Is simply awful - really rude and unprofessional. Sorry but I won’t be returning again to be abused by her..

The service was excellent and the food was incredible. My partner is celiac and they made special dietary requirements just for him. First restaurant we have found that actually are gluten free! The gluten free garlic bread was delicious and better than the normal one! Although I suffer from severe anxiety I felt very welcomed from the very start. Highly recommend if you’re looking for how the real Italians make their dishes!!

Really disappointed- birthday meal - booked for 5 pm and chef couldnt be bothered to turn up until 5.30 pm - food really delayed - weren’t apologetic and obviously didn’t care - shame as when chef is there food is good but couldn’t even offer us a drink to compensate for the wait for our food and no apology- wont be back! Your loss!

Are here before a gig on a Friday night. Loved it as soon as we walked in receiving a very warm welcome. Excellent service through, delicious freshly prepared food and good wine. Our new favourite Italian in Brighton… we will return.

Found this place through Trip Advisor! Went there for lunch 26/10/2023. The owner/waitress was very attentive and engaging and when we said we had a theatre booking to make, ensured that the service was paced but not rushed. We had melazane parmigiana (this was the best one I have EVER had and I have had a few!) and calamari to start followed by 2 different pizzas. The pizzas were perfect, crispy with no soggy bottom(!), not overly doughy and not too thick and toppings were generous. All washed down with a delicious and reasonably priced Malbec. We live 45 mins away but next time we are in Brighton we will definitely be back and have recommended it to our local friends who are yet to discover this great place

Lovely staff and amazing Italian food! I’ve been visiting Cibo for the past few years and it’s always my number 1 for celebrations and I’ve had my graduation meal and birthday meal here. Both the Veggie and Vegan options are great & the food never disappoints. My favourite is the starters are the Dough Bites with jalapeños and Mozzarella in carrozza, I order them both every time. Book a table you won’t ever regret it

Booked this restaurant because of the reviews. We couldn’t have found a nicer place to go. From the moment we arrived there was a warm friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious.
