Cibo Brighton in Brighton and Hove

I just can't praise this place enough. It's possibly the best Italian restaurant I have been in so far in the UK. The food was delicious the service friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was great. I will surely return.

Came in Saturday evening for dinner with 3 friends. Had a brilliant experience. My friends all had pasta and I had pizza. It was delicious. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Reasonably priced! Will back!

We had a wonderful Saturday afternoon at Cibo. They were very patient, waiting for one of our party to join us after trying to find a parking space, which took ages. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious, the service great and they were great to bring in a birthday cake for our daughter. Would definitely recommend others to visit and we’ll be back some time.

Lovely restaurant, delicious food!

Nice Italian restaurant west of Brighton's city centre. It has a nice selection of pasta dishes and antipasti, it also has pizzas but it is not the focus. The burrata caprese was creamy and very satisfying, the calzone had an interesting combination of ingredients but the dough fell a bit short. The linguine pescatore that my fellow dinner had was excellent and the sauce had all the flavour from the seafood in the dish. The tiramisu was good but not a showstopper. All in all, an excellent Italian place for pasta dishes slightly on the expensive end.

Lovely, unpretentious Italian restaurant. Generous portions and realistic prices. Delicious cannelloni and lasagne. Friendly and helpful. Nice, clean hygienic environment. Would recommend.

I have to say that this restaurant does not live up to its rating at all, unfortunately. The location and service are not bad, but the food is not tasty at all...

Fabulous food served by friendly staff! Wonderful pizza bases and lovely pasta dishes. Our youngest (7) had a couple of specific requests for her pizza which were accommodated perfectly.. she ate an entire pizza which for a ‘small eater’ is unheard of. The food was served promptly and there was just the right amount of staff interaction - checking we (and the food) were good - but not fussing… which is a skill usually only demonstrated by staff with a passion for food and for those who come to eat it. An all round a pleasant and relaxing evening meal. The next time we visit Brighton we will definitely return!

There were many restaurants nearby, and I ended up popping into this lovely one. The staff were very friendly and provided good service. The server noticed I felt a bit cold and suggested I change seats. The pasta I ordered was very tasty!

2nd visit here, lovely food and atmosphere

Visited Cibo on a Saturday night during a weekend trip to Brighton. Everything we ordered was top notch, from the starters to the pasta mains. However, it's the service that really felt above and beyond. In the sea of restaurants out there, it's rare to find a restaurant that makes you feel truly welcome but also unrushed. We were attended to regularly for drinks and allowed to sit in for what felt like beyond their closing time. Highly recommend! If only there was one in London

We recently celebrated my wife’s birthday at Cibo, and it was an evening to remember. From the moment we stepped in, we were embraced by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant’s environment was calm and elegant, which made it easy to enjoy our time, even with our kids being a bit noisy. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and welcomed. The food at Cibo was absolutely out of this world. Having traveled and dined at thousands of restaurants around the globe, I can confidently say that this was the best meal I’ve ever had. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors that took us back to our roots. Being originally from Eritrea, where Italian cuisine has a special place in our hearts due to our shared history, it was truly a nostalgic and delightful experience. The service was impeccable, with the staff attentive to every detail, but it was the food that stole the show. The chef deserves all the praise for crafting such exquisite dishes that reflect the true essence of Italian cuisine. The flavors, the presentation, and the quality were simply exceptional. Cibo has set a new standard for Italian dining, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion with our family. We left the restaurant not just satisfied, but amazed and eager to return. Thank you to the entire team at Cibo for making my wife’s birthday dinner an unforgettable experience. We came in for a treat dinner whilst visiting Brighton for one night. We were promptly greeted by a very polite man, who showed us to our table and waited to ensure we were comfortable and happy before leaving us to choose some drinks. The entire time we were there the service was exemplary, and it felt like we’d stepped right into the heart of their family home - like we were important guests to them. The food was out of this world. Honestly, the best thing I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten out in a LOT of restaurants. We were completely blown away all evening and I’m gutted we don’t live closer to this restaurant as we’d be in every week without fail. Thank you so much for an incredible evening, we WILL be back.

Food not authentic. Ingredients used on the pizza were cheap and tasteless. The pasta sauce was very bland. Disappointed.

Cibo was a calm relaxed environment to seek refuge in from the busy beach strip in Brighton. Starters and mains were fairly priced, and with Tastecard helped a great deal. Best of all was the service which was warm and friendly.

Excellent Food ✨ and amazing hospitality. Michele was super friendly, cheery and took really good care of us. I had the "Chicken Milanese" which was unbelievably delicious, and also tried the Lasanga that was served fresh and piping hot straight from the oven. 10/10 Recommended for a relaxing dining experience with delicious food in Brighton ✨✨

This is without a doubt mine and my partner's favourite place to dine. Have been multiple times and on every occasion the staff have been very very friendly and welcoming, the food is always excellent and the experience overall is perfect. Please do not miss out on this gem!

Went here with friends and we absolutely recommend!! The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and the prices were good. The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was very full. I think that is perhaps why the service was a little slow, unfortunately we waited quite a while for someone to take our dessert order, that we ended up having to get the bill instead. That being said we will come back because the food was great and I think perhaps they were just understaffed.

I’ve been here several times and the food is always delicious. Friends are always very complimentary. It’s the only restaurant where I order garlic bread as it’s so often disappointing in other places. Not here. It’s flavoursome, soft and succulent. It’s a lovely cosy yet spacious place and the staff are delightful. Definitely my go to place for reasonably priced authentic Italian fayre 🇮🇹

Went here for Valentine’s Day and it was just amazing! The atmosphere, music, staff and food were lovely! I’m still not over the amazing stuffed pepperoni garlic dough balls in the rich tomato bolognaise sauce!! Will defo be back again soon!

(Jan 2024) As soon as we stepped into the restaurant it smelt amazing! Service was great, we were well taken care of and the food was excellent. I had the linguine pescatore (seafood linguine) and I’ve had seafood linguine in other restaurants since this visit and it doesn’t compare!

We had a lovely meal at the end of a long week. The vegan pizza was the best I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere and excellent service, a real treat!

Had my birthday meal here with friends last Saturday and really enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and engaging and the restaurant felt warm, cosy and welcoming.

Be careful when ordering from this restaurant. I was sent the wrong order, which is OK but the phone is off the hook and I can't get through to anyone to rectify it. Now I'm stuck with cold food that I don't want. I won't be ordering again and won't recommend.

Returned after 2022 Christmas day lunch for another superb Christmas day lunch again this year. All the staff so friendly and full of Christmas spirit. Food and service excellent as usual and on leaving many hours later were presented with a Panettone. Loved the decorations and ambience. Will be back again in 2024. Wishing all crew at Cibo's a good Christmas week and a Happy New Year.

Very nice looking place. Modern and cozy. Good service. The pizza was semi thick, the bottom was crunchy and i would've liked more tomato on it. Not a neopolitan style of pizza but tasted nice. I don't regret going there but I don't think I would go there again

Same owners as Seasons which used to be a gem on Boundary road. So pleased to know they have upsized and moved to Brighton! Excellent food as always, and the loveliest staff and owner 👌

Booked Cibo for hubby's birthday and was not disappointed. Obviously with it being a Saturday, I reserved a table beforehand but it looked like they do their best to take walk-ins as well. The food was an absolute delight! We had the sharing antipasti to start - it looked so fresh and appetizing and did not disappoint! Delicious! For main, I had Penne Romana and himself had Penne Filleto. Again, it looked and smelled fantastic The pasta was cooked perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite! The staff were professional if not especially friendly but this did not affect the atmosphere or service. Would highly recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The owner and chef are amazing. Italian food is the best we have had outside of Italy itself. Everything was amazing, and I would definitely make it a point to come here again if we are ever in Brighton. It's definitely a must try!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Ordered the gnocchi. The sauce tasted fresh and the gnocchi itself was well made. A good spot if you’re looking for casual and relatively quick Italian food.

Lunch sets were good. Good portion size and tasty. Great service. Value for money. A good place to go. The dishes were rather heavy with cheese or cream, so not suitable as regular meal (aren’t all tasty food?). But would certainly go again if I was in the area visiting.

Honestly probably the best Italian I've ever been to! The staff were super friendly and my kids loved chatting with them. The food was perfect! The nutella calzone was fantastic! I honestly can't fault anything. They also had a vegan menu!

Ate here on Saturday on a hen do. The restaurant staff were so accommodating and went to the effort of doing a personalised congratulations message for the bride to be. The food was delicious and fresh and so reasonably priced too. Was really impressed and the whole group had a good time!

Came to Cibo for my 60th birthday dinner with my family in April. The whole evening was really great.The staff were very accommodating and let us have the upstairs area which had been decorated with a birthday banner and a written message on the mirror. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent and I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in Brighton.

Cute little restaurant, service was excellent and their Tiramisu was to die for - so so so delicious. I’d definitely recommend and go back. The calzone was delicious, could have done with more tomato sauce with it. Only suggestion would be fewer fairy lights as it can cause some dizziness (🤦🏻‍♀️)

Everything us simply amazing! The atmosphere, and interior architecture are chic, and comfortable. The food is absolutely amazing! All the flavors come together perfectly We tried a few things, it is now our new favorite restaurant. The cocktails are reallyyyy good, as well as the shots. The staff is very welcoming.

Beautiful traditional Italian food. We visited on a very busy night the evening before the Brighton Marathon and the staff were very accomodating in fitting in a large group. This did however present a bit of a challenge given how busy it was, which was a shame, bit that did not detract from the quality of the food and I'm sure service would be better on a less hectic night.

Me and my partner came here on a whim a few weeks ago, it caught our eye as we were driving past, we were treated with lovely, kind staff and felt completely taken care of and the food was some of the best we've ever eaten! The place is beautiful too! Highly recommend!

We happened across Cibo by accident just this week. It was lunchtime and we had our two granddaughters, aged 10 and 7, with us. We were greeted and treated sensationally. The 'service' was impeccable and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and was served with 'class' and style. My wife had the 'special' of the day, I had the Canelloni and our granddaughters had pizzas, etc. A thoroughly enjoyable lunch. We will visit agaain.

We visited the Walrus for a Christmas Day Lunch. Booking online was £75 per head which we paid online. The reservation was seamless and on arrival we were shown our table. The tables although busy were laid out to be Covid Safe and all the staff serving were polite and helpful. We pre ordered our menu choices and just needed to order our drinks, the drinks prices were reasonable. There was a perfect pause between each course and the food was well prepared, unfortunately there was way too much food.....sometimes less is more. My amuse bouche was a chestnut hummus which was amazing followed by a butternut soup for starters, turkey dinner main and Christmas pudding for dessert followed by coffee and petit fours (which we had to take away). The Walrus is a nice relaxing pub and had a good environment. Well done to one staff member who paid particular attention to one couple having an argument I feel she went above and beyond to help diffuse a potentially embarrassing situation. Would definitely visit again.

My first ever time here. Was greeted with friendly banter at the host station which made me feel comfortable. Waiting Staff were great, friendly and honest! Wasn’t sure if I should have the roast chicken or Roast beef, with advice from the waiting staff I opted for the chicken. I certainly wasn’t disappointed! Food was great! I asked for extra gravy which was no problem. Awesome ambiance, I’ll say again.....all the staff that I came into contact with were just great, no pretence and so down to earth which can be a rarity in Brighton!! Excellent pub overall!

All started out ok, but then ended a bit limp. The ambience of the restaurant upstairs is great and the place is beautifully decorated. We were a table of 6, there were a few things the restaurant got wrong. Missed a dish that we ordered, got steaks to wrong people and the service started out great but then there were just too many people for the staff to cope with. The starter of chilli prawns was amazing, my steak was not so great (over cooked). All in all, for a fancy place to eat, it wasn’t as good as it should have been.

Although this is a great pub for a drink and obviously very popular for its Sunday roasts, it didn't quite live up to our expectations. I went for the pork belly roast which was generous in proportion but very greasy. My husband had the fish and chips which he said was pretty tasteless considering we were yards from the sea ! Great friendly staff and good atmosphere so would definitley go back and happily drink here.

Absolutely incredible and delicious food! Also super affordable and great value for money <3 The service was amazing, the waitresses were super kind and lovely, and they helped me out when the meal wasn’t what I expected (the new one was spectacular.) Definitely visiting again!

Fantastic authentic independent Italian restaurant. Relaxed and friendly with a great vibe. The linguine I had was superb, perfectly cooked, with 5 huge king prawns in a very moreish sauce. Nice selection of desserts and drinks, and all at very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend, and nice to find a proper independent Italian rather than the usual stock chains.

We are in Brighton for a week and Cibo was the first restaurant we went to and we went back again today. The only restaurant we’ve been to all week that we felt deserved a return visit. The one thing I noticed both times was the food was plentiful and piping hot even when the restaurant was extremely busy. One thing that could make it even better is some air con 🤪
