Food is great but that is not enough to give higher review. When you pick up a takeaway fish and chips you expect to have what you paid for. EVERY TIME, and I mean EVERY TIME there is item missing from the order. That is simply not good enough. And it’s impossible to check there and then so you always end up disappointed when you get home. So either avoid or check in the chop if they actually packed your order properly

The staff at this branch of Churchills (a brilliant chain of fish and chip shops) were so helpful and accommodating, catering for an order for 20+ people and delivering the order to our venue. The food arrived beautifully packed, piping hot, with disposable cutlery - delivered exactly at the time requested. We cannot praise their service enough and would not hesitate to use them again for our Club gatherings. They have far excelled any catering services we have used before.

Paid 3.99 for large chips at beaulieu square Chelmsford. Got home unwrapped them, the portion size was barely a small portion. Won't be going back

This used to be one of my favourite food places. I have been going there for 20 years . In the last years and a half the staff have totally changed and its now an entirely different crew .This is not a good thing. They are routinely rude and unhelpful. I witnessed the  manager swearing and bad mouthing customers after customers leave store.They now ask you to wait outside to be called in to make your order. Even though they have sign up saying come in and wait on the blue marker. they  don't follow this. As soon as you enter they rudely  tell you to wait outside and they will call you in when they  are ready.They routinely forget  to call you in. often customers are outside getting annoyed waiting and the staff don't care. Often they just forget or cant be bothered to call you in and after they take your money they tell you to wait outside again and routinely forget about you. I don't know if they are thick or just bad attitude. i think bad attitude. my last 3 visits they say wait outside and then  forget to bring out my food on one occasion they  even threw away the order receipt from their Que. I  wont go there any more simply because the staff are so  rude , incompetent , unhelpful, discourteous and lazy. On my last visit there was only myself and 1 other customer. They took my order , told me outside .they brought out the food for the  1 ahead of me then  10 minutes later I'm still waiting so i go in and the  staff member is like "oh i forgot ." The food i ordered and paid for is sitting  there in the warmer all ready to go and she can see me waiting outside .i am teh only customer.she took my money... Absolute  rubbish place now ,

Large portion of chips £3.20, chips were soggy and stuck together in one big chip ball. Not very pleasant.

We had take away fish and chips and mushy peas tonight from Churchill’s at Beaulieu Chelmsford, it was absolutely beautiful, can’t recommend it enough.

This is my go to fish and chip takeaway in Chelmsford! Always freshly cooked, quick service and tastes great.

We ordered a click and collect from Beaulieu to drop off at My parents in Blackmore for Dads birthday, as due to COVID-19 we are unable to stay and eat with them. The collection was one huge muddle waiting outside, no one knew what was going on and where they should be. We got our food and went off with it to then find out two fish and chip meals had no chips which was obviously a bit of a disappointment. We then had to drive back to Chelmsford to collect the chips!!

Very disappointed as I ordered online and paid for my order in full. We received delivery very quickly which was great. I opened bag and unwrapped our order to find that there was a missing dinner. I contacted just eat who told me to contact Churchill which I tried but could only get through on email. I am still waiting for a reply from them for a refund or credit but have heard nothing so I think once they have your money they are not bothered if they got the order wrong and customer service does not exist. Maybe I should have asked the driver to wait while i checked it, but my meal would have gone cold.

Was in the vicinity doing deliveries, Got wife to phone to try and place an order. Person on other end of phone said just turn up and order as we are very quiet at present. arrived there to be told no orders are being taken as were busy. i explained that I was not local they said they would take my order but no more after that, fine I thought, told them what I wanted. They then tell me that they weren't doing that any way so was not impressed.

I Placed an on line order to collect from the Melbourne, Chelmsford branch today. When I got there a young girl came to the door and took my name and get my order I asked her for extra salt but she just kept walking away and let the door shut, I put my hand on the outside of the door to ask again for extra salt but she said she had already wrapped the chips ?? And told me not to touch the (street side) of the door. I wouldn’t have had to do this if she had waited for me to finish speaking. When she brought the chips I asked if she had any salt sachets I could have and she said no!! So I asked again if I could have extra salt and she literally snatched the bag out of my hands and stormed off behind the counter opened up the bag and Then brought back to me threw the bag to Me and walked off. Seriously I don’t know if she had just had bad news or something bad happen to her as I cannot understand her treatment to me ?? She seemed furious. There was no queue so she wasn’t rushed off her feet. I have never had such bad service ever. When I opened the chips there was NO salt on them 🤣🤣🤣seriously you couldn’t make it up! They won’t miss my custom as I don’t live in the area and don’t eat from chip shop very often but I feel the need to review as I am so astounded by the hostility I read met with.

All cooked to order for me .little wait but worth it top fish and chips ..in our area ..weekly .visit for me 👍fresh as you like .loads of other dishes aswell
