Best breakfast I’ve ever had, the food was cooked perfectly they even cooked my egg the way I like it (well done). Price is affordable and the staff very friendly. Will be coming back here again

I've been visiting them for over 10 years (when they were down the street as Barbarellas) and have always enjoyed cheerful service and wonderful food every single time. I celebrated my birthday with friends there recently and the staff put out balloons and placed candles on my black pudding which was a lovely touch.

We visited Chunnel Bar Cafe for a take away breakfast. Jasmine the owner was as always very friendly & welcoming. The breakfast from there is always of a very high standard. If you're in the Waterloo area of London its well worth a visit. They have a varied menu to suit all tastes. Coffee us excellent. Thank-you Jasmine, Steve.

Nothing great to look at from the outside, but this place was awesome! We had our breakfast here 3 times during our 5 day stay in London. For £5-6, you get a full breakfast including up to two cups of tea or fantastic coffee! Food was great, delivered quickly and hot. All kinds of options at very reasonable prices. It was full of locals each time we went. That is telling. I definitely recommend!

Estoy en Londres por trabajo y entré atraído por el especial de almuerzo de Chicken and Mushroom Pie y ¡qué lujo! ¡Un plato grande con un cuadrado de pastel de pollo con una ensalada pequeña y papas fritas por menos de 7 libras! La comida era tan fresca como podría ser y el pastel de hongos de pollo era para morirse. El servicio es encantador. Una verdadera joya! Este café no se ve muy atractivo desde el exterior, pero las miradas son muy engañosas. Éramos una fiesta de 8 adultos y 2 niños, cambiaron el café para acomodarnos y nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. Nuestros pedidos fueron tomados rápidamente, toda la comida fue servida juntos hacía calor y estaba delicioso. Hicieron un café adecuado, que fue mejor valor y mejor sabor que muchas de las cafeterías de cadena. Excelente relación calidad-precio, sin duda volveremos.

Me preocupaba el que sería el bocadillo sería aplastado por bacon, pero ese no fue el caso, sin duda volvería.

Aún así, que tenía hambre y prisa así que pedimos la generalmente bien sándwich de tocino y un café. El café era muy buena, aunque pequeña, pero el tocino, mientras que ser preparado muy bien, debe de haber sido dejado en un calentador, ya que solo era una piedra fría y envueltas en (sé que es estándar en cucharas grasientas, pero. . . Estábamos buscando un buen inglés, y era perfecta y una excelente relación calidad-precio. Yo siempre juez un desayuno inglés completo en la salchicha y este era totalmente aceptable. Sabían como las salchichas que te dan en las tiendas chip (IE) que era frito bien por mí. El personal era muy eficiente y amable y había un gran ambiente ya que era principalmente obreros. Sin duda lo recomiendo.

Como muchos de estos cafés, y hay unos cuantos en Lower Marsh, que hacen un desayuno durante todo el día. El Chunnel es agradable en que tienen de cada permutation (o es una combinación? ) de tocino, huevos, hash browns, champiñones, judías y salchichas puede realizar y escrita y numerada en la pared para fácil de ordenar. Buena comida y un servicio rápido. Todo recién cocinado.

It was great finding this place, as the food was really good, the portion was super for a day trip later, and ghe price was simply the best in town. Everything else around did not have one of the 3 ites before. The service was super even with the language barrier as the teo girls were very friendly.

One of the few places open on a bank holiday in Lower Marsh, the place was quite busy i managed to get seated. I enjoyed a nice latte promptly served by the friendly staff. The hot food - breakfasts, omletttes etc looked nice also. The place is just tobthe side of Waterloo station. Head out of the far exit, the opposite end of the station from the south bank complex, and it's only 5 minutes walk.

I have been to Chunnel Bar several times now and have enjoyed a tasty fresh sandwich each time! There is a large selection of fillings on display and the lovely staff are very accommodating and happy to make any sandwich you like. The hot food always looks good too so will definitely be back to try that. Would highly recommend!

This is a brilliant traditional cafe bar, great home cooked food, brilliant value. Its tucked behind Waterloo Station and I cannot recommend it highly enough. An enormous plate of salad, chips, gravy, and home made chicken and mushroom pie was delicious. With a cup of tea for £6.40.

We asked the cashier at the Florence Nightingale Museum for suggestions for lunch. She said that there were many good places along Lower Marsh. We looked at signs and menus of several before coming to Chunnel Bar. Many of the others seemed touristy, but this place has local appeal. The homemade portions were generous, prices reasonable, and food tasty. We both got specials from the chalk board. Hubby had the creamy bacon & mushroom pasta which was delicious and substantial for a hungry tourist. I had the Poulet Chausseur, mash and vegetable, a generous portion of a hearty sort of chicken stew, comfort food, great for a chilly day. Though I was hungry, it was more than I could eat. There was a bakery case near the front door, and customers were coming to buy as we ate, but we were too full.

We decided to try this restaurant based on review on our first day in London. Anna, our waitress was super! Laid back atmosphere and home cooked style food was very good. My husband had the pasta with chicken, stayed hot the entire time and was really delicious! I opted for the fish special and it too was perfect! We went back the next day for breakfast which was home cooked and just your standard breakfasts, but very reasonably priced. The entire staff is very friendly. The prices are very reasonable. You can always tell if a restaurant is good when the locals eat there. The majority of the patrons we observed are local! If we return, we will definitely eat here again!

We stopped in for lunch Because they advertised English Breakfast all day. It was what I would call the equivalent of the neighborhood diner. It was not fancy. It served good wholesome working class food. English breakfast, liver and onions, meat and potatoes. My English breakfast was huge, and most of the plates they were serving to,other customers were equally generous. The prices were ridiculously low. I spent about six pounds for more food than I could eat. What a bargain in overpriced London!

This is a simple cafe for the lunchtime trade run by friendly and welcoming women, serving a simple range of specials plus the usual fry-ups. The specials, such as beef stroganoff, taste home-cooked and come in good size portions. Reminds me of an old style of cafe that is fast disappearing.

My dad has worked on the railway from the steam days and would always use this cafe when he was up from Ashford. It has been nice to return several times with him to talk about the old days. Seems like the cafe hasn't changed that much, still providing really good food quickly. The only thing missing was the noise from the long forgotten barrow boys outside on what my dad called 'the cut'. The ladies in this cafe work hard to provide great service whether you just want a coffee or a proper roast lunch.If you want trendy expensive then this place isn't for you, if you want great food and value for money then give it a go.

This cafe is close to work so I often go in if I've not brought lunch with me. I've not used the sit down cafe but the sandwich bar is excellent with a wide range of fillings and bread for good prices, especially considering what you get charged in chain coffee/sandwich shops. Really friendly staff too.On a specific point the egg custard tarts are some of the best I've had outside of Hong Kong. Coffee is pretty good too.

We walked a far distance to visit Chunnel Bar having been impressed by the high customer ratings and noting that TripAdvisor said it was open on Sunday 0700-1700.
