Chuck And Blade Burgers in Tunbridge Wells

Really great food, definitely needed a new burger place after losing Bok Shop, can say Cluck & Blade are on par when them! Hopefully they’ll get the recognition they deserve considering they’ve recently just opened in Eastbourne. Staff are friendly, could maybe do with slightly quicker service and maybe less time talking to their colleagues, but in all fairness it wasn’t very busy when we went. Overall 5 stars!

Went here with my family at 1215pm Sunday 4th June. Outside did not look promising with no lights on. On opening the door I was greeted by a cloud of smoke from two dodgy looking characters who were heavily vaping at one of the tables. There were others around the bar area. Everybody seemed surprised to see us and nobody was able to answer my questions as to why smoking was permitted and whether they were actually open or not. Did a 180 degree about turn and walked out. Just plain weird and somewhat sinister. Went up the road to Roddy's Burgers. Place was warm and friendly and served with great burgers.

Unfortunately through no fault of the staff working that evening we had a terrible experience. The owners/management didn’t have correct training in place or the right amount of staff to deal with Saturday night trade. Our drinks orders were wrong and took ages to arrive. The food was cooked badly (dry chicken, one slice of halloumi in a halloumi burger, greasy and poorly presented) it was a real shame as we had heard good things. I was told I would be emailed after the meal to apologies and offer compensation but nothing every came!

Terrible experience but only due to untrained staff and not enough of them working! Drinks orders were wrong and came out incredibly slowly. Food was poor and tasted bad and we were told we would be emailed with some compensation that never came. We won’t be returning unfortunately can’t risk another bad experience!

Wow, what a wonderful place!! Great food and excellent service. Restaurant was clean and tidy with a great atmosphere. We received excellent service from Elcke, who was friendly and professional and was able to give us lots of advice on what to try. Hats of to the chef, Louis, for preparing our food perfectly. Will definitely be visiting again soon and will be recommending to all our friends and family.

Honestly I've never had a bad burger or bad experience from Chuck and Blades We decided to go for breakfast on Saturday morning for my girlfriend's birthday, and it was great! The breakfast burger was delicious not too big but definitely filled a hole! The hash browns are to die for! My girlfriend had the French toast and said it was fantastic! Her brother had the pancakes and wanted a second course they were so good! And to top it off they have Arizona Iced Tea! Didn't catch the young ladies name who served us but she was very good not too intrusive but there if we needed her and the chef was incredible! Keep up the good work guys!

First time eating here and after looking through the Instagram lense, we assumed it would be worth a visit. Unfortunately not. Although the lady who served us was pleasant, not once did she apologise for the issues which arose from the moment we arrived. Firstly booking system was down, we had booked via phone which clearly was made in error by the other waitress because we saw her face drop when we arrived, we were offered to sit at the bar as there was no tables available which we agreed to as we had made the trip and was going to give the place a chance as we all know minor errors occur sometimes. A lovely customer heard what was happening in regards to the table situation and as she was finishing up she said we could have her table which was great and we just had to wait for them to leave which was 15 mins or so from arriving. Sat at the bar, no offer of a drink from the waitress, infact no communication from the front of house until the table had been wiped and we were pointed to our seat. Sat down at table, still no drinks, left for atleast another 20 mins until order was taken. Drinks finally brought over and my husbands was wrong. Food arrived 25 mins later from drinks and we had no cutlery, no sauces, no napkins. Asked if we could have some of the above and she went off and didn’t return. Had to go and ask for the items, albeit whilst our food was getting cold. Chips underdone, burgers were edible but nothing special. We couldn’t get out there quick enough, meals weren’t finished, bill paid and WILL NOT be returning or recommending. As an ex waitress myself I was less than impressed with the front of house teams attitude and overall experience, also the kitchen was open so we could see a little of the cooking areas and the chefs were just in joggers and T-shirts, no chef whites in sight, when did this become acceptable? I completely understand if this was an off day but atleast apologise for any inconvenience and rectify the problem with a little more compassion and be trained to have better customer service. Finally, please understand it’s a luxury for some to come out for a meal and with the way things are financially, it may have only been £40 to some but that £40 has been earnt through hard work and in this case would have been much better spent elsewhere. All I can say is the person in control of your social media is VERY good at their job because it’s a deceiving presentation of the Tunbridge Wells restaurant.

By far the best burger I've ever had. I love this place . Good portions, amazing food, beer, fair prices ... What's not to like. The chicken burgers wipe the floor with KFC.

Been a frequent delight since chuck and blade opened in tunbridge wells and what can I say? If frequent doesn't tell you it's banging I don't know will. I've tried the complete range of the beef burgers and the firey fagin is a personal favourite (biscoff special needs to come back) the poutine fries are the best I've had too! Boozy milkshakes hit the spot too! Staff are always very polite and welcoming, would thoroughly recommend if you're after a burger in tunbridge wells over the other local establishments of the same variety.

I don't understand the good reviews, unless we were extremely unlucky! Went here as loads of other places in Camden Road were busy, this looked about half full (should have been a red flag). Looking at the menu outside, I thought the prices were really cheap, but thought it can't be that bad. Staff were pleasant but nothing special. We're seated quickly. The burgers on the menu didn't seem very imaginative, the only difference between them seems to be 'dickens sauce', whatever that is. My burger was dry, bland and pink in the middle. I ate about half of it before I realised. I didn't say anything as I just wanted to get out of there and had already decided I wouldn't be returning. The chips were OK. Waited such a long time to get the bill as it seemed impossible to get anyone's attention, then when we asked for it we had to wait at least another ten minutes for the bill to appear. Won't be back. There are far better places to eat in TW.

Came in for early lunch had the big Charlie and an Oreo milkshake, BEST milkshakes in town without a doubt and the burgers are to die for. 🤤

Booked the ‘sold out’ quiz which turned out to be 7 teams booked only. Was told the entry was £2 per head collected on the night (never collected) and a cash prize (from the collection) for places 1 & 2. This did not happen and instead a voucher for the restaurant was produced - in my opinion a false advertisement. Saving grace to this element, the quiz host himself was awesome and really funny. Having arrived early for a 6pm start as advertised and messaged about privately when booking, we arrived to find out that the quiz didn’t actually start until 7pm. We were told that the 6pm start was to get everyone fed and watered before the quiz started. Had we know this we wouldn’t have arrived until the quiz was due to start as we were made to feel pressured to eat. All 3 of us were driving and or doing dry January and made this clear from the start, yet we were asked 4 times if wanted to buy cocktails and was pushed offers such as 1/2 price and BOGOF. It felt as though the cocktails were being pushed on us whether it be they pre made a load or just needed to shift the stock, something we didn’t enjoy. Regarding the food we felt obligated to get in the hour wait for the quiz to start: between us we had 1 cheeseburger and fries and 1 poutine. The ketchup we asked for, for the burger and chips never arrived and the poutine was far too salty to finish any more than half the bowl. The quiz itself although fun probably would only have lasted 30 minutes max yet we had a random 45 minute break between part one and part two clearly keeping us there longer than we needed to be. We won a bottle of Prosecco for having the best name but was told the bottle had to be opened in the restaurant and drunk there and then, which again we couldn’t do as drinking and or dry January so instead we had to decline the bottle we had won. My understanding is you can in fact take a sealed bottle of alcohol off the the premises so not sure what the problem was in this instance but it felt petty. Overall we just didn’t feel the experience was great at all, the food was average, the temperature in the restaurant was cold and the sign next to us on the wall had cobwebs. Overall this place could do a lot better in my opinion.

Popped in a for a quick lunch treat. My second visit as I enjoyed it before. The owners/management were running the place and they struck a friendly banter and quickly served me the Fiery Fagan burger with a Pig & Porter lager. Food was cooked perfectly with the succulent and tasty double patties with a flavoursome sauce and a nice heat from actual chillies. I preferred the Lager to the IPA. They are planning to get a wider selection of beers which sounds good to me. I will be back.

The burgers here were absolutely fantastic and the milkshakes are something special. The service was fast, friendly and not overly pushy. Even though it was a full restaurant and there was only one chef on which we were informed of, it was still a fantastic atmosphere and the food came out quickly and tasted brilliant, will definitely be coming back for more time and time again!

Ordered a burger and fries on deliveroo. The burger was really burnt and the fries tasted like they’d been cooked in old oil which was really disappointing given the good reviews on trip advisor so far. I wouldn’t reorder.

Fabulous burger Came here on Monday night for the first time and had a fantastic meal. Chose a classic cheeseburger but with a side of potato tots (with cheese and truffle topping) and was really impressed. We were well looked after by the staff and service was really quick. There was a good atmosphere and it was great to see that although they were also doing takeaways, they were attentive to all diners. We will definitely return soon.

Fantastic burgers both meat indulgent and plant based/vegan friendly. Loved the Fagan Fries and great vibe in the restaurant. Really minor issue with timing on our order but efficiently, professionally dealt with and quickly which is a real measure of management’s focus on the customer.....
