Classic Chinese restaurant with menu that doesn't let you down. Staff are friendly and professional, quality of food and service good and reliable. Smart place, well-presented, pleasant general ambience. Duck and seaweed were tasty, as were the spring rolls and steamed vegetables. Would return.

Very nice waitress who let us have a table without booking. But the food was not to standard. The sweet and sour pork was a big disappointment.

Food was over priced, for tiny portionsand oily. No atmosphere or welcome from staff. Make waiter was polite but lady was cold.

I was going to a late business trip with my friends. After that we looked for a place to eat our dinner. I ordered Thai fish curry and the curry. The rice was undercooked and the curry was OVER cooked. I was quite thirsty so I asked the waitress if she could pass me a cup she did but gave me a bad look. I asked for a soup spoon and chopsticks. But that was when I saw that the waitress held the soup spoon at the part where you eat and same with the chopsticks. I also find hair in the curry and asked the waitress if she could replace it for me she said she would but I just want to say that the 'Fresh' curry was COLD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED NEVER EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT FOOD POISENING

Best to sit in for dishes you can’t get anywhere else (salted egg chicken wings, beef rendang) - I’ve been coming here since it opened in the mid-2000s. A real North London institution.

I wish I could rate this place based on my assessment of their food, or even their customer service. I can’t, because every time I try to order via their website, it lets me put an entire order together before telling me (on the checkout page) that they are temporarily not taking orders. What is the point of allowing a customer to progress that far along the ordering process before telling them this? It has happened to me on 4 separate occasions, and I have learned my lesson: this restaurant does not want my custom.

Mapo Tofu was tasty, BUT £12 for one takeaway container is too much money. I expected it to be bigger for that price. Should be £8 just like the other main courses. I probably won't buy again, it's just too much. AND, it doesn't need the beef. This should be a wonderful vegetarian dish, keep it that way. But it was delicious. Compliments to the chef.

Food was great .only problem was egg fried rice could of used it for filling holes in my wall 😆

I collected a delicious takeaway and the place was busy with diners enjoying the intimate cosy atmosphere. Staff were extremely helpful and efficient.

Very good value and service. You can ring a few days early to pre-order seafood dishes.

Ordered takeaway told it would be 1hour. After 1hr 20mins we called to be told it was on its way, arrived 10 mins later (we are a 2 min drive). Prawns were raw, fillet steak was pork!!! Will never order from again.

Five stars for the taste of food, service and atmosphere. But less for opening time. Why close on a Sunday?

The finest dish I have seen, the crackling crust of the crispy Tammy duck is an aromatic delicacy and when ordered together with a mouth-watering pot of tofu and fresh seafood it is the finest meal I have ever had the pleasure to have.

Probably one of the most authentic Chinese restaurants I've been to in London, dishes always made fresh, love the selectio, especially the salted yolk fried wings, butter prawns and yam duck, make sure you preorder dishes on the secret menu.

The restaurant serves food that is very close to the authentic flavors of Hong Kong and truly captures the essence of traditional Cantonese cuisine. I ordered a variety of dishes, every dish was expertly prepared, with fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. . I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Hong Kong-style cuisine in the UK. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I will definitely be back for more in the future.

Probably the best Chinese in the area. Would definitely recommend their Malaysian dishes eg Laksa Prices are reasonable, I think they have reduced the amount of meat quite significantly to avoid increasing prices - shrinkflation…

Best Chinese in London hands down!

Very authentic Cantonese cuisine, all dishes taste very good especially the Cantonese pot dishes, the tofu , sweet and sour chicken… the fried rice are also good too. The boss and staff are friendly. The restaurant is not very big but seating is still comfortable. Suggest to book in advance. They also provide order pick up. Btw, they have a secret menu offering some special dishes not in their official menu. But need to book in advance.

Went for a family meal on New Year’s Eve. Food was superb and exceeded all expectations. Yes a bit pricy but you get very generous portion sizes and great quality, well worth it. Hard to pick a favourite dish as everything was just so spot on but highly recommend the sizzling lamb and egg fried rice for main. The icing on the cake was the exceptional friendly staff, thank you Sunny. Highly recommend if your in the area or visiting Hampton court, you won’t find better.

Amazing Local Chinese & Malaysian restaurant. Spacious and can accommodate large groups. It has all the dishes you would normally find and other delicious ones like hot pots amoungst others.

Good quality Chinese restaurant with friendly, prompt service and decent portions.

Food was nice but I ordered delivery as it said delivery would be 30-50 minutes. Minutes after ordering the restaurant updated the delivery time to taking 1hr 20 - 1hr 40 mins! Once ordered you cannot cancel and as a result I had a hungry tired cranky child. I would have ordered elsewhere if I knew it would take so long to order. Ordered after being reccomended by a friend but was really dissapointing. 1.3 hours wait for food that was tasteless and bland. Chicken was way to chewy and tasted like egg. Really dissapointed

This is the only Chinese restaurant I order from as I like their food, but firstly they don’t open till 6:30- we usually eat by 6pm. Also I know that when I decide to order from here there is a big risk that they are not taking orders or they are too busy. They need more staff and I don’t understand why they don’t open earlier then maybe they won’t be bombarded with orders at 6:30

A hidden gem, we have been coming to Chu Chin Chow for over 10 years. Their dishes are second to none and never fail to impress us each time we come. Book in advance for special dishes and to avoid disappointment as they can get extremely busy!

We ordered a delivery last night, apart from one item all the food was inedible. The dumplings were rubbery and cold. The chicken satay was hard chewy and tasteless. The crispy lamb was incinerated, there was no meat just scrapings of dead skin. The lettuce had a fly on it. When I called to complain I was exposed to a barrage of abuse, insinuating I was lying and received an aggressive, patronising attitude.. The woman I spoke to told me very patronisingly that they had not had any complaints about their food(!!!) and sarcastically said she was sorry that the food delivered did not meet my high standards. Please do not order a delivery from here, you probably (without prejudice) be very disappointed and receive an unprofessional and vicious response. I have noted they do not respond to negative reviews and achieve a solution, really unprofessional

One of the best Chinese restaurants in north London. It has delicious food, efficient service and friendly staff.

What a disaster, chicken satay wss charred and rubbery and unchewable. Dumplings were also rubbery and tasteless. The "crispy lamb had no meat just flakes of dried skin. When I phoned to complain the staff were rude and aggressive and insinuated I was lying. I have never experienced such awful customer service.

Very very disappointing. Me and the mrs was in the area, looked for a well-rated Chinese restaurant. Found this one. I don't know how they got the 4.3 stars on Google... The place was so cold we had to keep our coats on the whole time. We'd ordered chicken chow mein and Singapore style rice noodles. Both were served dripping with oil. Its like they cooked it in excess oil and then submerged it in oil before serving. The Singapore style rice noodles were basically rice noodles boiled in curry powder with a few peppers and onions inside. Far from what I expected. Go somewhere else to experience proper Chinese food. Won't find it here. Oh and it's very overpriced for what it is. We paid £45 for people. 2 starters and 2 mains and 2 drinks.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. Unassuming front but once inside, you will find the most authentic Chinese food in town. Flavours and dishes that reminded me of home and never thought I’d find in london, definitely recommend and worth the trip! Crowd favourites are always the salted egg fried chicken wings and crispy butter prawns, a must try!! Delicious and will have to go back!

Disgrace of a place, ordered at 7:30pm, it's after 10pm right now and they haven't even made the food yet. The woman who answered the phone kept lying and then laughed on the phone. I will make it my mission to make sure the restaurant is banned from Uber eats, "sorry we are busy" is not a good reason!!!!!!.

Food was tasty, staff lovely and helpful. Unfortunately sent Toffee Banana instead of Apple which could have been a massive issue if it wasn't picked up by my partner as I'm allergic.

Very disappointed. We have had food from Chu Chin Chow many times, usually good food. Tonight it wasn’t nice, greasy and unpleasant. We had to phone twice to see what happened to the order, it arrived over an hour late and after spending almost £50 they gave us £5 as an apology! We won’t be using them again.

Absolutely ridiculous and ludicrous rang the restaurant all they could say is sorry 2 and a half hours later we received our order was also told manager will call but to no surprises no call never going to order from this place. Also kung po chicken absolutely disgusting and no taste and was not spicy at all!!!!!!

Lovely food and friendly staff. Most restaurants nowadays add the 10% or 12.5% service charge in the bill but Chu Chin Chow hasn't and they let customers decide their tips. Since the food is so nice and the staff are lovely, we gave more than 12.5% tips 🥰🥰

The food was fresh and really tasty the only bitter taste was the waitresses taking our order while we we giving her our starters she took a phone call and just left our table and we were in limbo where she had gone 5 mins later she came to complete our order and guess what she forgot to add one of our dishes which was no surprise, her customer service skills are non existent and comes across rude pushy and aggressive

My family and I visited last week, as it was valentines day it was super busy but they managed to accommodate the three of us. We ordered 4 starters, calamari, ribs, satay and crispy lamb, all were great with the exception of the lamb. The three meat mains plus one veg and two sides were all delicious. I'm so glad we have found this place and would highly recommend.

Excellent food, clean and the staff are very friendly! I visited this restaurant yesterday after receiving a recommendation and I was hugely impressed by the quality of the food. Arguably the best Chinese food I've ever had and the portion sizes are very generous. Prices are nice and reasonable too. It's a shame I don't live locally but I'll definitely be back in the future. Thanks for a great meal!

Exquisite food! Really top notch Chinese cuisine. The place is very unassuming, but clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. That's good. But the food.. OMG THE FOOD. Quite simply the best I have had for a long time, without costing the earth, by any measure.

Excellent Chinese food in Barnet. My family are a bit fussy when it comes to Chinese food and often end up going into central London to find the more authentic places but this place definitely punches about its weight given the location. I can't say all the dishes are excellent (but where is that the case), but from what we have got has always been above expectations and now this is a regular! Saving the trips into town!

Food was hot on delivery and decent portion sizes

Food was a nice surprise. We have struggled to find good Asian food in the area that is relatively healthy and this one ticked the boxes. We will be ordering again. Only issue was the 100 minute delivery time. Luckilyi wasn’t in a hurry

Very tasty and really traditional Chinese food

The staff was carrying food and clearing tables at the same time without washing their hands. When they serve you a drink they touched the brim of the cup. HOW DISGUSTING! They also touched the part of the fork spoon and chopsticks you eat with instead of the handle. VERY BAD HYGIENE. They have a 4 star food hygiene rating , I won't even give them 2 stars. The food is plain awful and tasteless. The Malaysian Laksa colour was orange and so pale and having eaten real Malaysian Laksa in Malaysia the colour is much rider and more flavourful. Furthermore this is ironic as Chun Chin Chow says they are Chinese and Malaysian cuisine and the Malaysian food is no where near the kind you find in Malaysia. Once I even found rust in the Malaysian Laksa. HOW DISGUSTING AND UNACCEPTABLE. The Char Kway Teoy was disgusting and saturated in so much oil , and flavourless and bland. Again no where near proper Malaysian Char Kway Teoy. The waitress provided not bad but atrocious service. 2 waiters running the extremely busy period so had to wait very long to be seated and for them to serve me during the meal. I found a black thing inside my drink and told the waitress and she gave me an annoyed look. Food is very expensive , small portions and very bad value for money. Go to another Chinese restaurant such as Reindeer Cafe in Wing Yip. Way bigger portions and much tastier. ONE OF THE WORST RESTAURANTS I HAVE BEEN TO. DON'T COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ACCUSED OF LYING AND WANT BAD SERVICE AND DISGUSTING FOOD.

This place is a gem! Best quality food that I’d compare to any Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Friendly staff and excellent service. I’ll certainly be back again. Travel from West End London to this lovely restaurant but is worth every Penny!!

Absolutely disgusting waited almost an hour for our food to arrive

Have bought from them many times as they are the best Malaysian restaurant in this area by far! Love their stir fried ho fun in egg sauce and lady fingers in shrimp sauce.

We came to try the lunch time special. The lunch time special is £10.50 and I think you get 2 courses and tea included in the price. On the menu they add an extra £1 i now realise that is for the blue starred items on the menu where you have prawns and more expensive ingredients. They also showed ice cream, at the bottom of the menu so not sure if that was included but we so full after the 2 course we didn't enquire about the ice cream. We ordered a soup and fried prawns to start. I was impressed with the prawns they were tasty and came with a sweet and sour sauce. The hot and sour soup was good and had prawns and chicken and quite a few ingredients in it. For mains we ordered a laksa and some mixed meat crispy noodle. I was impressed with the ingredients and the quality of the dish. The waitress was lovely and friendly. She gave gave us extra plates and bowls so we could share our mains. She also topped up the tea with hot water when we finished the first pot. We will definitely do the lunch time special again, the waitress said it's available on the Saturday too so will come back on the weekend I'm sure. There was also a free car park close by, which made it easy go get to the restaurant too.

Over 2 and a half hours wait for delivery. I will not order from there again.

The Best Chinese Restaurant for miles, Quality food and excellent service, highly recommended, would advise to book first.

2 hours now since placing our online order and still not received our delivery. No apologies when we called up twice to find out where our order is. Would not order from them again.
