I’ve been here several times over the last few years, as I keep being told it’s great and I want to support local businesses. However, every time I go I am disappointed by the level of service. The food was good, we were there for breakfast, but the service wasn’t great. This ranged from being told ‘the chef got grumpy if I take more than 6 orders in at a time’ (we were a group of 10; to a long wait for our order to be taken; to slightly grumpy staff to finally my dad having very hot tea tipped over his arm! This was dealt with by offering burn spray, no accident report or offer of anything to make up for it (maybe the tea could have been removed from the bill 🤷‍♀️). Fortunately his arm was okay. Anyway, although the food was good I won’t be returning in a hurry and I don’t really understand the great reviews. Perhaps it’s a reflection of the poor options for restaurants in Tamworth!

Went here with a few friends for tapas, good choice of food. Food was very tasty and service was good. There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and a good ambience.

My brother and sister-in-law had their wedding meal here on 30 March 2024. The food and service were absolutely flawless - everyone had an amazing evening and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Every course was beautiful and came out quickly and piping hot. Highly recommended :)

There was a large group of us and every single one of us received an exceptional meal that was piping hot. I had the roast of the day which was a very generous portion with a selection of vegetables. Couldn't fault it.

We have tried the tapas in the past which was great, so on returning we were happy to see new additions to the menu. The whipped feta is a new favourite, everything else was lovely with generous portion sizes. Service was efficient and friendly, always a pleasure to eat at Christopher’s.

Lovely staff but food isn’t good. Been here a few times and nothing tastes of much (especially the risotto) and the tapas is just everything battered..

We had a lovely evening here on Saturday, fantastic staff, atmosphere, food, wine and service. We arrived early and had a bottle of wine between us all sat on the sofas, all of our dishes were well presented and very enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a brilliant time. We will be back again :-)

Many of us are still working from home so decided to take the team for a 'Breakfast Meeting'. Second time we have done this in last few months - service and food highly recommended. Lots of space to work, arrived at 08:30 and left around 11:45 - no pressure and lovely environment - highly recommended

We decided on trying the tapas menu after hearing good things. Favourites were the pork belly which was full of flavour and the Singapore chicken which had really nice light and crispy batter. Service was friendly and efficient, would definitely recommend and not hesitate to go again.

Ordered fish and chips and to my disappointment it was frozen chips. Not what I expect ordering fish and chips at a restaurant Also the spinach and ricotta pasta was not home made as explained. It was no better than M&S. great disappointment and will not be returning anytime soon. Nice atmosphere just ashamed with what standard of food is served.

Our favourite place to eat in Tamworth for 20+ years - it never fails to deliver good wholesome food. Breakfast treat today and lovely chat with the owner and retracing the years flown by.

Thank you for the most beautiful, delicious dinner date. The food was fabulous 👌. And a big thank you to Hayley for being so invested in our evening. She is an asset and so knowledgeable and caring. We will definitely return. If this was a taste of early dinner we are keen to try again. Sunday lunch next. 😋

Visited for lunch yesterday and found the food very disappointing. Firstly had soup which I had to ask to be warmed up as it arrived cold. Two of us had beef bourginion that was really salty and luke warm so we could not finish it. It was served with vegetables that were edible but very average. We finished with a pudding which did arrive warm and was pleasant best part of the meal.

Not sure if we just got a bad night but the food wasn't very good at all. The chips were more like under done oven chips than I would expect at a restaurant. They were all really limp and pale. The garden peas were very hard and I suspect that they had been under the 'warmer' for too long. The battered fish were large but they were rather watery and the fish didn't fit the batter at all. Again, I think they were over cooked. Worst was the gammon which wasn't cooked through and was very fatty. We asked for it to be cooked more and, very kindly, they sent out a new meal. However, that one wasn't cooked either and also very salty. Very fairly they knocked the cost off the bill but our meal was already spoilt. It's a real shame as we've always had great food on previous visits and the take outs they did during lock down were excellent.

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend to visit friends. We ate and had drinks at the restaurant and have to say the service and quality is excellent. The staff are so friendly. I will definitely recommend to friends and family to visit.

My brother and I took our Mom here tonight for her birthday. It was a most pleasant experience. The place is well laid out and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food and drink were top notch. I definitely recommend for a special occasion.

Christophers of Tamworth is the place to stay if you are cinteplating staying over. Myself and my wife stayed 2 nights Fri & Sat. The accomadation superb clean fresh just what you need. We had meals in the restaurent foid very very good. Service excellent cant fault anything. Big thank-you to Sarah Keeley and all the staff. Will be see-ing you again soon. Thanks for a lovely stay. All fur coat with no knickers is how I’d describe this restaurant. Looks fancy from the outside but inside is basic. We were given 2 menus (classic & Tapas) but were told the chef only wants us to order from 1 of the menus, we could not mix & match, which begs the question, why bother giving us 2 menus?…. Service was slow, was waiting for a drink. No eye for detail Another customer even brought his pet dog in with him! Only plus point is the food was hot. Food was basic, definitely not worth the money. Was extremely disappointing, will not be returning.

We were recommended this restaurant by volunteers at the local staffs regiment museum as it was my dads 80th birthday. We were lucky to get a table at short notice as it became very busy very quick. This however had no negative impact on the service at all. Staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful. Food cooked to perfection and a fantastic variety on the menu that didn’t run out part way through service. We have come from out of area for the day but were so impressed that we’ve taken a card and will be back in the future to stay overnight in the hotel plus a meal too. Thank you to all involved in todays service (4/9/22) you are all a credit to your industry.

We chose a number of Tapas from the menu £18 for three dishes. Wonderful variety and the quality was superb. Tempura prawns, Paella, garlic mushrooms, lemon chicken, Moroccan Lamb kebabs etc. Really enjoyed the choice on offer, everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty.

What can I say!You made our Xmas Day complete with THE most beautiful meal. Everything was carefully packed in recyclable containers, food was piping hot ,fresh and really well presented .All I had to do was have plates ready to put it on and it was exquisite. We had fish and and a parfait starter all with salads and additional side. Mains of lamb and turkey with all accompaniments were absolutely beautiful ,desserts were very tasty and cheese platter complete with all you need. The tray of mince pies and petit fours was the perfect ending. Thank you to you all as I didn't have to think of a thing apart from enjoying every morsal! Absolutely amazed with the hotel. My daughters are both in the forces and I have moved out the area, so when they went back to Tamworth to visit family due to COVID they couldn’t stay with grandparents. The hotel offered them a room at a discounted price. So friendly and helpful, thank you so much. The hotel states that any forces or police will get discount if they need a place to stay.

Having had many a take away Sunday Lunch and Friday night fish and chips decided to dine out for a special celebration with friends. The food was perfect and delicious, service was great as always, friendly and efficient and atmosphere what you want being relaxed and friendly with nothing too much trouble.

I can recommend the takeaway Sunday lunch. Really tasty, plenty of vegetables, all beautifully cooked, gravy & accompaniments all plentiful & delicious - and no washing up...... bonus!!

First time dining in at this Boutique restaurant since UK Lockdown was imposed. We had partaken of the Sunday Carry Away lunch and were very impressed and promised ourselves a return visit when it reopened for dine in. Today was the day, based on a much reduced number of tables, but the service and obvious precautions that were implemented made it a relaxing venue. The food was served hot, the Sunday menu varied, and what we had was delicious. Thank you all for making it a meal yo remember. We will return to dine in as well as continuing to used the carry away service.

If you want to stay somewhere with a perfect bed, luxury bedsheets, fluffiest towels, most beautiful room (with blackout curtains and air con), gorgeous walk-in shower, top quality food and amazing service, get yourself to this family run restaurant and hotel. Absolutely wonderful. I stayed for a night and feel properly rejuvenated. We ordered their afternoon tea (all home made and mouth-wateringly good) and picnicked in the castle grounds - perfect food made for the perfect afternoon.

Because of Lockdown Christopher's can't open but are doing a wonderful selection of takeaway Sunday Lunches (& at other times, not sampled). We have now had three of these at different times and are considering even more despite the fact that some places have opened up around us. The meat or fish is perfectly cooked and it comes with a greay selection of veggies. The starters are great too if you have a ravenous appetite.

During Lockdown the Restaurant continues to function . We had the most delicious take away Afternoon Tea. Well done all staff. So well presented & very professionally packaged . Sandwiches , cakes , Eclairs , Scones , Clotted , cream Jam + 2 teas & a glass of Presseco for 2 ... Just £30. excellent value , excellant Sevice .

The service and food were both faultless. We both ordered from the specials board. OH said her sea bass with noodles was amazing. The vegetable side dishes were really tasty and provided variety. I ordered a side of bread with the goats cheese starter which was a great call as the portion of goats cheese was very generous.

The staff are all really friendly and attentive which is lovely. We ordered our mains I went for the lamb and my partner had the venison burger. I was advised before it arrived that the lamb is served pink which I am fine with and I'm impressed they advise it beforehand.It took about 30 minutes to arrive which is a little long considering I could not see anyone else dining at the time. The meal arrived and there was no sauce or garnish on the burger which was surprising. The twice cooked chips were average according to my partner. It came with a side salad so my partner put some of that on and asked for some mayonnaise so he could put it on the burger. It was nice but nothing mind blowing.The lamb came with dauphinoise potatoes and a savory cabbage and pea medley with a mint gravy. The lamb was nice and pink with some fat on still but it was well cooked. It was a little hard to cut with a normal knife and I would have preferred a steak knife. The potatoes were gorgeous plenty of garlic but not too over powering.The mains plus a large glass of wine and a cider came to £42 which is more than I normally spend on a meal. My lamb was £19 and while it was very nice I have had better for less.

We recently had an excellent meal at this restaurant where 9 of us met from around the country for a Christmas catch up. The staff were extremely friendly and were very helpful offering different options off the menu for the children in the group. We all really enjoyed the meals and they were great value offering a one, two or three course option. The atmosphere was lovely and Christmassy and it was great not to get ‘rushed out’ as we do like to talk! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the local area, not far at all from Drayton Manor.

Attend a meal here for my sisters 50th. Quite a large party of around 20 of us. Pre ordered our meals and the food was really lovely. I had the pate, rump of lamb and creme brûlée. All came out in good time. Really good value for money. First ever visit. Sure we will return

The staff at Christopher's could give lessons to a number of other places on customer attention. We had a fantastic meal for a large family group and were made to feel instantly welcome. The service was personal, with a sense of humour and very relaxed. The food was exactly as described - excellent quality without being pretentious. I couldn't fault a single thing. Every stage, from booking a few weeks in advance to following up afterwards was simple and unfussy. Value for money often means cheap - in this case it means that the price was less than I would have been prepared to pay for this level of quality.

We visited Christopher’s tonight for my birthday meal and after seeing so many good reviews on the food- it definitely wasn’t that great. The service was amazing and everyone was so friendly- couldn’t not fault them at all! For a starter we had the monk fish and fried chicken liver which was good, as a main we had the burger which was standard (my partner said it was a little dry) and the salmon with noodles- the salmon was absolutely delicious, but the noodles let the entire dish down. The major upset for myself was the pudding. I had the bread and butter pudding and it just seemed to be absolutely swimming in oil (as you can see on the photo) this was a major put off and the dessert itself would have been spot on if it was not like this. I think it’s safe to say the food was not really worth the money and we will not jumping to go back for a swim in some oil but as Iv said- can not fault the service- they were super friendly and lovely.

Very warm and welcoming. Everything tidy and clean but short staffed. Took 50 mins for 2 paninis and a bowl of chips to arrive. No apology. Nice food, nothing special. Felt like we’d been forgotten. 1 waitress running tables and at least 8 tables full.

Had a bacon, brie and cranberry panini, chips and a caramel latte, all was delicious. The panini was stuffed full with cheese, no scrimping on the filling like some places do. Lovely place, will be back.

I booked here as always loved the food and we were a large party of 16. Christopher’s could not do enough for us. Food service atmosphere was second to none. Organisation was Impeccable. Have no idea where the negative come from but would recommend 100%

It's a pleasant enough place. The waiting staff that served us were pretty good. Our starters were reasonable but nothing special, lots of salad leaves to bulk it up on both. We'd chosen different to each other but being served in basically the same way seems unimaginative to me.

Wonderful staff with wonderful food. We’ve been here many times as a couple and with groups of friends. Last night was with a wonderful group of 16 friends and again the staff and food were again just exceptional.

I thought the 3 course lunch for £14.95 in a pleasant setting was value for money. The food was of a reasonable quality and well presented in a timely manner. The venue was very busy and the front part was very noisy so we opted for the small snug area just behind the front area.

Lovely tea, plenty of sandwiches and loads of cakes. Endless tea and coffee in lovely surroundings. Attentive staff and good atmosphere. Would love to go back for a meal soon.

I always eat out and love trying new places in the Tamworth area. This was my first visit to Christopher's and it will definitely be my last. Myself and 3 friends decided to have dinner here and the service was awful. We could hear staff talking bad about the management and how many hours they had worked / been made to do. You could tell how distracted these employees where as they got our order wrong twice for food and this caused the correct meals to go cold while waiting over 20mins for the issues with other meals to be resolved. We did tell the server that we was unhappy however no care was given and when we asked politely to speak to a manager we soon got told good luck finding one better to just email. I was not going to bother wasting anymore of my time on this restaurant especially to write a review however after hearing other close friends have experienced the same issues I thought it needed to be aired.

Stopped by here for Breakfast. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast menu looked good and the prices were pretty good for the amount of food you got. Tried out the full house and wasn't able to eat it all. The food itself was great and wasn't greasy which is a bonus.

Can’t recommend this place enough. Fantastic choice of well cooked food & beautifully presented, and lots of choice - Congratulations to the Chef. Nothing is too much trouble to the lovely Ladies that work here too the service really is “Service With A Genuine Smile” It’s a 10/10 from us.

We checked into the Peel hotel Aldergate which Christopher's serves. Our meal was excellent, there was a good spread of choices on the menu and we were served by friendly caring staff. My steak was excellent as was my husbands meal. thank you to our waitress who introduced me to blackberry gin , a girl after my own heart!! unfortunately we only stayed for one night but we will be back.

Staff are lovely and the food the best in the Town by far. Highly recommend it. Classic modern British food.

I Was treated as a birthday breakfast to eat at Christopher's. I ordered eggs royale, was very disappointed as the eggs were so snotty & they over did it with the hollandaise sauce. I didn't complain as it was a birthday surprise & would have been rude to.

Just had my first outing to Christopher's at The Peel. Very accommodating staff who happily found me a table with room for my pram even though there was only two of us eating. Decent choices on the menu throughout the day but my Mum and I both opted for the 2 course for £12.95 deal having the chicken in tarragon sauce with seasonal veg. The dish was served in a reasonable time and was delicious. As were our desserts. The menu offers such great value. You can pay a lot more than this for substandard or average meals; Christopher's offers both quality and decent price. Lovely little place, clean and attractively furnished. Will definitely be returning to sample both breakfast and evening menus based on my pleasant experience this time round. Worth a visit if you're in town.

Simply great.. I booked last minute and was more then happy with what was on offer.. The customer service was simply fantastic, made to feel welcome and special. The service was efficient and with a smile. The afternoon tea was delicious. Fresh sandwiches with quality ingredients, freshly made cakes, all set in a lovely environment. Highly recommend.

We always visit for breakfast, service is quality, food is quality, beautiful atmosphere calm and siren. So we decided to visit on an evening to see if it delivered there too, it did, in bucket loads. Amazing selection of meals, all freshly prepared no pre-packed in sight. The selection of wine, beer & especially gin was surprisingly good. Lovely out side seating decorated in twinkling lights.

I went to Christopher's for the comedy night and had a great time, the snacks provided were excellent and the service was efficient and friendly, definitely a good place to visit

Me and my friend visited here for the afternoon tea. We were pleasantly surprised with what we received. In the past we have found some afternoon tea to be slightly lacking in selection and size however this one was very good.

I have passed Christopher’s many times, but never been in . But what a lovely restaurant, the table was set immaculately, and we were served drinks as soon as we sat down . Staff were very attentive.

Chose here as the menu looked good and it was somewhere relaxed we could take my 82 year old father in law. Couldn’t book a table on line as every time you tried to book it offered you to book a room not a table! We dined at 6pm and we taken to a lovely window table - service is very good and attentive. Menu good with a list of specials-we had monkfish cheeks, cod bites, chicken livers to start followed by calves liver, lamb chump and sword fish - all well presented and washed down with a bottle of picpoul. Water was provided. Only gripe was the main courses arrived 4 mins after starters had been taken away - would have liked to have let things settle a bit first.

Based on TripAdvisor recommendations, this was our first call for breakfast. It's less than a 10 minute walk from the train station and a straight run from there too. We were treated warmly, the service was top notch and the breakfast plentiful. Next time we're in Tamworth, this will be our first port of call again. Highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant open for breakfast lunch and dinner we went for breakfast Sunday morning the food was very nice using good quality ingredients . Gluten free no problem, We will go here again .

Went for a meal with friends. Generally, it was all good and the food was nice (even though not the cheapest), nice wine and very good service. However the chips that came with the meal were a total let down and nothing like as described on the menu.

I really love popping in here for a coffee and cake. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the cafe itself is very clean. They also offer meals, and I have had a lunch sandwich here. One time lunch was nearly over but they were accommodating to offer us soup even though service had been completed.

I can't comment on food, but i can say, please pop in for coffee and to take five minutes out of the rat race. Coffee is excellent, staff were lovely and will return. Thank you
