Not a friendly welcome. Admitted we walked in 20 minutes before service ceased but we only wanted a quick cup of tea. Cakes and scones were still on offer but we didn’t have any. We did not intend to linger. What a frosty face we were met with. Awful customer service. Not a good example to the younger people working there.

We were heading to Betty's but there was a long queue and we happened to see this place directly across the road so gave it a go for a light lunch. Our teacakes were nice if a little small. The coffee was very good. Prices are quite reasonable and it's for a good cause.

Visited Ilkley today and stumbled across this little gem of a cafe directly opposite the famous Betty’s tea rooms. This little Gem is very clean with good amenities and plenty of seating, the menu was varied and the prices are very reasonable and most importantly of all the food was fresh and tasty. The cafe is also a showcase for local artists to show their talents, the staff who are brilliant are all volunteers. Ours was a really lovely experience and we will be visiting again.

We popped in here for lunch with 3 children and 3 adults and we were all very impressed. There was plenty of space, the staff were all very friendly and the food was great. The cakes were particularly good, and the coffee was good too. I would definitely recommend and hope to return soon!

You are guaranteed a warm welcome for lunch at Christchurch cafe. They serve delicious salads sandwiches toasties and hot specials at very reasonable prices. Homemade cakes are always scrumptious. It is very popular with locals as well as visitors to Ilkley. It's well worth giving your custom to such a lovely charity rather than just setlling for one of the much more expensive chain coffee shops.

I came to the Christchurch cafe a few Saturday mornings ago with my two dogs, I was pleased they could accommodate me and my dogs in a lovely atrium. The breakfast was spot on and the service was great. I loved the breakfast and so did my dogs (I got them a extra sausage to share) all in all a very pleasant experience. Comfy seating outside and very pleasant staff, very welcoming to me and my dogs. I didn’t have to ask for water for the dogs as there was already fresh water out in bowls. I will definitely return.

This is best place to eat in town, clean friendly, great staff & good value. We had morning coffee & cake then went back for a superb fresh salad lunch. We will return.

The breathtakingly expensive Betty's is just over the road, but this lovely cafe compares very favourably to that famous establishment. Breakfasts, lunches, specials and cakes/desserts are all competitively priced and served by really nice, pleasant staff who make everyone welcome. Spacious and very clean and the food and drinks are as good as anywhere I've tried.

Saw the poster outside on a visit to Ilkley, ventured in for tea and cake...ended up having sausage &bacon baps along with tea &cake. Welcoming and relaxing visit.

A hidden gem in Ilkley - it's a cafe in a church run by volunteers. Food is simple but excellent with great cakes and scones. Much cheaper than the more pretentious cafes in Ilkley.

After a walk on the moor we received a welcome cup of tea from the ladies in the church cafe. Nice and strong in a proper china cup. But what really impressed me were the cheese scones. Best I’ve ever had, they were cheese and herby, delicious!

Or so it seems to me. Staffed by - apparently - volunteers who are very friendly, it serves cakes, biscuits and sandwiches and straightforward teas and coffees. Good value and always worth popping in to.

Absolutely lovely. The people running the cafe are lovely, could not do enough to be welcoming. The coffee & sandwich turned into quiche for my Mum plus pudding for both of us. All very enjoyable. I will be back. The place was very busy across lunchtime, always a good sign especially when there is plenty of competition nearby. Walkers are welcome minus mud on boots.

I have been visiting Christ Church Cafe for the past few years. There is always a welcome, the food is fresh, atmosphere friendly and it's excellent value. It doesn't matter whether you go as part of a group, or on your own, you will be made welcome. It's a 'Family Friend'y space too.

Nice food and good coffee, nice play area for children. Lots of people there and it was good not to be ripped off in an expensive town.

I visit this place to meet up with friends and have a bite to eat before strolling around the town. The staff are extremely friendly, kind and helpful. The environment is spotlessly clean. The food is all homemade and excellent in both quality and value. It can get busy on some days but is still well worth visiting. Can't recommend it highly enough if you are visiting Ilkley.

I much prefer to have my coffee in a local cafe and support the local economy and community. This is a great little cafe for coffee and cake. The coffee is a good size and there are always plenty of cakes to choose from. It is a busy little place but we have always managed to get a table. It is ideally situated half way along Ilkley high street so is very accessible.

Accessible by steps or ramp, nice light modern room for the cafe and well equipped kitchen, pleasant staff and good range of drinks and food at very reasonable prices and with the added advantage of supporting the community. Very popular but a big room with lots of table, we were joined by a couple and had a lovely chat with them. Great place for children as there is bound to be some food they will like and there are toys for them to play with and news papers for the adults to read.

Hay un libro de sugerencia de que formas el menú y parece el tocino panecillos bajar una tormenta. Sí, es una cafetería en una iglesia, pero es muy barato y muy alegre con comida deliciosa. Sándwiches generoso con lujos, sopa fresca, deliciosa variedad de tortas y personal/voluntarios que se desviven por ayudarte. Una taza de té cuenta con una taza de agua caliente, café puede ser instantánea o filtro - sólo hay una fantástica relación calidad-precio.

I have eaten many times at the Christ Church Café their dishes are always nicely presented, food is all home made and delicious.

Visitamos en semestre y nuestros niños lo pasaron bien jugando, que disfrutaron de sus pasteles. A un precio razonable.

Had a couple of lunches in here. They seem to be short of staff and the staff aren't particularly in a rush to serve you. Food is Ok if you want what is on the menu . You can have other things but they have to be made and from watching other visitors it does seem to take a while to make things. Reasonably priced and quality is OK

Tried the cafe for first time last week when we made rare visit to Ilkley and had to go back today so made a special point of dropping in again. As mentioned by others it's in the Church, only about 50 yds from Betty's Cafe (over the road) but there's no doubt which one the Good Lady and me would prefer to visit. On entering the Church there's a big hall with comfy seats, toilets and even a partly completed jigsaw for you to have a go at! The cafe is then through an entrance on the right where you proceed to the counter and make your order from a wide selection of cakes, sandwiches and snack meals. What is nice is the ability to have soup and half a sandwich portion etc for those who just prefer a light snack. We've had a toasted teacake and scone each time (the teacakes being delivered to our table quickly) with a pot of tea for two costing £5 in total. Newspapers and magazines are available to read and there's a kids area at one end for the youngsters.Overall, a nice relaxed atmosphere with good value food served quickly and pleasantly which makes you happy to take your used crockery back to the counter after you've finished!

Just across the road from Christchurch you will find the famous but pricey Betty's Tearooms but we were far more happy to visit the Christchurch cafe which is clean, well-organised and well-supported by the local community. A lot of older customers have made it their regular port of call for good value lunches. My wife had toasted teacake and a mug of tea but I opted for a cheese and tomato toastie. Both snack lunches were delicious and we were joined at our table by a widower and an elderly lady whose mobility was difficult. We were soon chatting happily with them.It is nice to support a local, not-for-profit enterprise like Christchurch Cafe and if we were ever back in Ilkley we would be there again.

Been to ilkley a few times now and always called in here, because of a warm welcome, excellent food, and excellent value for money. Clean and a cheery place to call in

The church has a proper cafe all set up in a good size room with round tables each seating 4 or 5 people, and a commercial quality kitchen open to view. Staff are friendly and when we enquired about church services they went out of their way to get information for us. We each had mushroom soup and a roll, which was as good as any we have ever tasted and possibly the very best. Prices were about average.

Homely and good for a slice of cake and cup of tea. Come on in out of the rain with your child and you'll get a cup of juice with or without a lid, a piece of lovely cake and a cuppa for a couple of quid, there's toys and books for little ones and no hurry to vacate your table. And they employ you'd adults with learning difficulties. Win win.

Having previously lived in Ilkley for 8 years this café was a lifesaver for me as a Mum of 5 small children at the time inc a set of toddler twins and a newborn. I would visit several times a week to get out of the house with the children. Their scones are the best :) I would look forward to going in for a chat and the ladies would make a fuss over the babies. The staff were always very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was always complemented on how well behaved the children were, that's because they like the treat of going there playing with the toys and books. I still pop back from Merseyside a couple of times a year and grab a scone and a cuppa. My son had his Christening here and my twins celebrated their 1st Birthday when we hired the café area :)

Unpretentious and lively cafe in heart of Ilkley. Good mix of age groups among customers. Filter Coffee with hot milk at £1.40 (or is it £1.30) has got to be best value in town. Have used this regularly over past 2 years, never disappointed.

Just a room in a church but was such a pleasant surprise to see local ladies mixing cakes ready for baking for customers. Affordable home baking in friendly environment.

This is a lovely relaxed place for tea - much cheaper than across the Grove at Betty's. They are a FairTrade outlet and you always get a great brew and choice of yummy cakes. What's not to like?

The food is homemade and delicious. Lovely soups and sandwiches and homemade cakes. The down side there are too many children allowed in here and can get very noisy.

Open daily from 10:00am to 4:00pm weekdays, and 10:00am to 12:00noon on Saturdays, This Self service cafe serves light lunches and home baking in a friendly atmosphere.It has an army of friendly staff to serve and clear . Nothing was too much trouble for them and we were not put under pressure to leave . This is a Fair trade cafe and the value is excellent , making that welcome break in shopping or just meeting friends for a chat. Toy provision makes it child friendly and there are good toilet and baby changing facilities.
