Chow Asian Kitchen in Harrogate

As an Indian, I disapproved. I got Veg red curry with rice. It's just Tomatoes and rice.

Everything was great until I sat down and saw Alan licking his fingers after serving someone's food then didn't wash his hands ,then proceeded to put his little finger into his ear and poke around before continuing to serve needless to say we won't be using chow again as we are a regular traveller and often pop into the services here

Food is mediocre, not allowed to mix regardless of what box your getting, prices don’t match as everything is added separately, service is on fast forward even if nobody is at the queue… absolutely horrible place. Expensive but lace with mediocre food and they’re telling you what you’re not allowed, not what those boxes are. 42.13£ for 3 boxes, disgusting place

FOOD POISONING - Just recovering from a confirmed case of food poisoning (camplybactor), which I could only have got from this food outlet. Had the Thai green chicken curry meal deal and massively regret it. Eat here at your own risk. It’s cost me 10 days of severe illness!

The food was horrid. I went here as I assumed it would be like Chopstix you find in other service stations. How wrong I was… The noodles were tasteless and the toppings were not much better. The fact that they call themselves an “Asian kitchen” is a straight up insult to Asian cuisine Certainly one to avoid.

We stopped at the moto food place, and I wanted to try and eat healthier so I went to Chow, big mistake. The woman who served us was quite rude and unheigenic; she was coughing all over the place. Also to the previous customers she acted the same way. And to make matters worse, a day after rating there I was sick, coincidence, I think not! As there was no other liable reason besides from that.

Absolutely Amazing. £12.99 I got Noodles, 3 X toppings, Drink and 3 x gyoxza. Tasted amazing! I got teryaki chicken, sticky chicken and sweet and sour. Great portion and tasted amazing!

Worst experience and worst behaviour from the staff. Service doesn't get even a single star. Male staff at the store was very rude

Worst ever experience from an outlet. The male staff was extremely rude and was not even interested in answering the questions, just served whatever he liked instead of what we asked for. Do not recommend this type of experience to anyone. Management should likely look into this kind of staff

Sticky chicken. 3 tiny pieces. Not worth it. I’ll stick to chopsticks places in future 👎🏻 It was also very bland and tasteless…I didn’t finish it and chucked in bin 👎🏻

Stopped at Wetherby services today and wanted something other than the usual fast food. Tried Chow Asian Kitchen and it was amazing. Katsu Chicken curry and rice and perfect as was the Thai red curry and rice. Friendly staff and great prices. Quick serviceand made for a much nicer dinner. Would recommend to everyone!!! Well worth the £8.

Was great to see as an option at a moterway service station. Much prefered to your typical fast food/pasties/junkfood options. Curries were nice, staff were friendly. Will be my first choice next time I find myself passing through.

Asian fast food. Tasty and makes a real change from the usual KFC/McD/Burger King tripe at service stations. Hot food that's really tasty. Generally more expensive than other fast food places but infinitely preferable.

Ordered a meal deal, after they took the money and put the food in container they say we don’t have prawn crackers. She don’t propose Nothing else, and nothing about money?? Feel like they just steal my money

Excited about this meal as we love the noodles you can buy on the road. Unfortunately food is cheap rubbish, like cost price sauce from a supermarket, microwaved with little bits of frozen chicken and doughy rice. Very disappointing and would not go anywhere near Chow again 🤢

The Katsu chicken curry I had was an explosion of flavors that truly impressed my taste buds I had rice and noodles as there was not much noodles for a portion so was asked if I would also like rice which made it better as I do like half and half. The value for money was exceptional – getting the Katsu chicken curry, a drink, and prawn crackers for just £9.95 was a steal!

Love this place. For Katsu the price ain’t bad. Especially compared to the prices for everything else in this services

Really good alternative fast food. Definitely better then Burger King or KFC. Tasty, for me definitely delicious. Suggest Katsu Curry Chicken rice or sweet chilly chicken noodle.

This was dinner time, around 6pm. Ordered the Katsu curry with rice, it was steaming hot and tasted great! Good portion size too (picked the large one). My partner got the teriyaki chicken with noodles, he said the chicken tasted a bit like it had been out there all day (and I agree). It was also somewhat cold. We also got a boxed sushi. The rice tasted stale and dry and wasn’t enjoyable. Overall pretty ok but I can only recommend the Katsu. 3 stars for quick, friendly service and the Katsu was actually great.

Once again a disappointing experience. Not sure why the service centers in uk are such a mess. Decent place with enough seating but certainly short staff and all other chains at this service Center had long lines at 2030 hrs. All kids working at this joint and One person serving . 10-20 min wait. Their regular box is 8£ with with a Drink n prawn cracker. Good taste pathetic. Extremely salty and sugary. Sushi box 7£. Suggest avoid eating altogether and head into town even if u waste time..

We visited Chow at weatherby services today at 7.30pm (Fri 24 June) and the manager lady working on there deserves a medal. She made it seem like she had 8 arms. She was very hardworking and served the food with excellent customer service! Nuff respect Ms Chow! Peace out

Chose her as a healthy alternative to burgers and kfc. The food was piping hot and the service was quick and polite. Prices were a little high for a large meal a side and a drink just under £14 but it is a motorway services after all and healthy eating has a tendency to be more expensive. Overall all a very pleasant meal and experience.

Friendly staff, Katsu chicken with curry sauce on noodles is just bland. Consider it was an Asian kitchen; there wasn't much on offer.

My 4th visit to this outlet and the first one I've been disappointed with. Opted for a meal deal with extra Katsu and sparkling water. However, couldn't do the meal deal as there were no prawn crackers available today and no Katsu chicken. Even the drink was a let-down as there was no sparkling water, just still. If I'd known how little was available I'd have eaten elsewhere. I'll try again on another occasion though as previous visits have been good.

Very friendly lady serving, good knowledgeable of food available Duck, noodles & rice, prawn crackers, 3 meat spring rolls with soy sauce, & a bottle of oasis for £10.30. Food hot & tasty, good size portions & vue for money.

The only reason I am giving this a 1 star is for the friendly lady who works there. This place is expensive and the food or bland and tasteless. The food is an insult to Asian cuisine. If you are at Wetherby services go for a large cornish pasty from the West Cornish Pasty company, you won't be disappointed.

Beware of false advertising, the bill was lot more than on the board. Kids meals were advertised as including drinks and we were asked to pick any drink, but then charged extra for the drinks. When queried, they claimed they don't have the kids drinks due to no delivery and said we can't accept returns on the card

Never any food. Always closed. Why have a shop in the services...

Popped in for the usual chicken katsu curry and it was beautiful. I added some chicken gyoza and my partner had pumpkin katsu with vegetable gyoza, both with rice. So tasty and filling. You can’t go wrong because it’s never busy at Chow, other places at Wetherby have massive queues which is just annoying when you just want to sit down and eat after your journey. The staff are nice and serve you quick. Finding a table at peak times isn’t a problem because there’s seating inside and out, with screens to separate and dedicated table staff to help. The tables are cleaned and just pop your rubbish in the bin when you’re done. The trace app QR code is on the table to snap, if you stay beyond 15 minutes and there are several hand gel terminals around the site. Masks are required to be worn by all unless you’re exempt and arrows on the floor to direct you safely about the building. We always visit here when we’re using the A1, it’s very big and your car is safe.

3rd and final time of trying this place. Absolute scandal what they charge as well. Masaman curry without potato??? Scraggy bits of chicken and hard noodles where they had been left to bake under the heat lamp. Tip: why not recreate the meals at home by wan*ing over a plate of 3 day old spaghetti and serving it to your family with the most miserable face you can summon 👍

Was supposed to be Asian cuisine. Only sushi and noodles in a fridge. The rest was fry up or muffins with egg and bacon and sausage. Hardly Asian cuisine!!

This magnificent bus is an hotel on wheels. This gorgeous black beauty just finished catering to Depeche mode no less.

5 stars for the soup, 1 star for the sushi. Sushi rice was so overcooked and mushy. Will be back for the Udon soup but would avoid the sushi.

A refreshing alternative to the usual fare for a motorway service area

Ordered spicy sesame chicken, doesn't taste of sesame, tastes like a bland casserole, from a jar. Ate two forkfuls and went back to the counter and ordered sweet teriyaki chicken, doesnt taste of teriyaki, tasted like bland casserole from a jar. Truly awful.

So I get to the counter and it looks open. The food is out and prepared and its just after 10.20. I can see the pre made pack I was after and all I want to do is give £5 for the sushi. Except I can't. It's closed. It looks open, but it isn't. Then the man behind the counter said that they didn't open until 11. In a rude way. One star.

Never thought I'd complain about too much food but the rice to chicken ratio is a bit skewed. Still tasty!

We waited and waited and waited 4 members if staff on duty and we were totally ignored so we have up and went to burger king won't be going again , rude lazy staff !
