Went for an early lunch and isn't open. Poor show as paid for parking too. Had to rattle doors to actually see someone. Even then didn't open for another ten minutes

Okay - so the first part (which isn't their fault) is when googling their restaurant to find the menu, you'll find something which isn't them. However, having had some lunch in our office, we had a selection of dishes, and not one person had something good to say. Service was bad, food quality was bad, flavour was bad, choices weren't great either. No-one finished their small meal - not because of the quantity, just because it was that bad. They clearly are selling for as much as possible yet spending as little as possible on ingredients. I won't be sad to see this restaurant go, or another one pop up and actually take what is an excellent concept and do it properly. Avoid!

My first ever visit to a chopstix, and it will be my last. I went for a medium box with rice. They didn't have any teriyaki beef or katsu curry, so I went for the chicken curry and the salt & pepper chicken. The chicken curry was mostly peas! with a few strange loking cubes of what I guess is supposed to be chicken? The salt & pepper chicken was ok, but a bit bland. I felt sick a few hours after I'd eaten it which is unusual for me because I have a very strong stomach. The girl working there looked miserable, like she didn't want to be there (and I don't blame her!). For £7.50 I would expect much better quality.

My Friend and I thought we would try Chopstix Noodle Bar in Ipswich. What a mistake. One of the worst meals I have ever tasted. We both chose the noodles with a topping of sweet & sour chicken. The noodles were very bland but the worst was the chicken- absolutely awful. I am not even sure it was real chicken. I eat some of the chicken but my friend did not any of hers The taste was so bad that I feared food poisoning . The place is let down by the surliest staff you have ever seen. The lady serving us was devoid of any customer interaction and a very grumpy man just stood doing nothing . He couldn't even bother taking my money. All he appeared to do was put people off their food. My advice is to avoid this place.

I have used chop sticks since day one and prior to that at Norwich. As for the Ipswich branch, it is a disgrace, the food measures are only half measures and that applies to all box sizes. To charge, for instance, £5.50 for two mouthfuls of food is way out of order. I suggest that management scrutinise this store for some time otherwise customers will be going elsewhere. Get the measures correct because you are charging a good rate. I will be monitoring the restaurant for sure and this may even be a case for trading standards to investigate. Stop ripping customers off immediately.

I am appalled. After checking their opening times online I brought my family here for my son's birthday treat, only to be met with locked doors and the girl inside saying they closed at 4.30. it appears they also close whenever they feel like it as they also close during lunch periods. The staff are always eating while serving customers. The man inside never seems to be working, it is all left to the girl. Whoever owns the franchise for this chopstix store needs to look into how it is run. I now have disappointed children, a complete wasted journey. What a joke. Don't go here until they can get adequate staff in to run this. They are damaging the chopstix reputation.

Nice staff ,very good food i go daily there the food it fresh and tasty ,a good deal at that price and a lot a food

Staff do not wear gloves when making and handling food, always playing on there phones,and never wash their hands before serving customers,they are not the nicest dressers for working with food, and no service with a smile, I believe they also lack,social skills.food is bland.

Visited for lunch and was very disappointed with the bland food. I have been to other Chopstix and the food has been ok. Here the rice had no taste as though they hadn’t seasoned it even with a little salt. The sweet and sour chicken was Luke warm and not very tasty either. Again pretty bland in taste. Hoping this is a one off although it’ll be a while until I visit again.

My partner and I popped into Chopstix Noodle Bar last week whilst browsing in Sailmakers Shopping Mall. We'd passed this small eaterie on numerous occasions whilst shopping in Ipswich and had often wondered what the food was like, so ventured in. The food on display not only looked delicious and freshly cooked but was presented nicely in a double line of eighteen stainless steel containers, all spotlessly clean. The first two contained either rice or noodles which diners could select either individually or mix together, depending on taste, to create the basis of their meal. Toppings consisting of oriental chicken or beef with vegetables were then served on top. You could choose from three different size food cartons, small, medium or large which were then filled generously by the staff. We both chose a combination of rice and noodles with various toppings before quickly grabbing a table to try our food. It was okay but we both felt that the food, although well cooked could have been hotter. It also tasted quite bland as though it needed a lot more seasoning. But I guess if busy shoppers are hungry and are in need of a quick bite then a filled carton of oriental food without any frills would be ideal. The restaurant was modern, bright and spotlessly clean, but - dear oh dear, the staff really let this place down – badly! There were two men and a female running Chopstix during our visit but they all looked so glum and miserable! Without a welcoming smile amongst them, their presence was quite unnerving! Two were sat at a table near the servery facing diners just staring towards the door whilst the other one served us having first explained the procedure of selecting meals. However, as soon as he'd served us he joined the other two and sat with them amongst diners either talking to his two colleagues or staring ahead. It was bizarre situation, but one which created a bad atmosphere. It didn't look good, was certainly unprofessional as well as being irritating during our meal. We certainly didn't feel comfortable. Before leaving, I took a few photos to accompany my Tripadvisor review. I told a member of staff of my intention, however he seemed totally unconcerned. A week later I returned to Chopstix to ask for their telephone number in order to submit it with my review. The restaurant was completely empty save for one male member of staff who was greedily stuffing himself with a carton of oriental food! Didn't look good! I asked him politely if I could have the restaurant's telephone number and the reason why. He mumbled something then, without answering, went and fetched a woman from the rear of the premises who I suspected was in charge. I explained to her why I wanted the telephone number and that my Tripadvisor review could attract more customers for the restaurant. Her response? “We don't have one!” I found her statement bizarre however, to ensure fairness, I did contact the the centre manager of Sailmakers Shopping Mall who confirmed that Chopstix did not have a telephone number listed on their system! Still bizarre. So how would I sum up Chopstix Noodle Bar Ipswich? The restaurant is bright, clean and centrally located on the ground floor of Sailmakers Shopping Mall. The food, although rather bland, is filling and, in quantity, good value for money. However the restaurant is let down dreadfully by its staff who desperately need to be trained on how to interact with customers, who after all, should be their main priority. Not impressed. Will we be returning? ….... That's a definite no from us! Happy dining! Lee A.
