Choppin Centre in Croydon

I've been to Choppin Centre twice now. It's like going to your West Afri an Aunty's house for dinner. Firstly they are not stingy with the portions, also you can see theycook with their heart. I had Jollof rice with Jerk Pork. The Jollof was nicely seasoned and tou could pick up each granule of rice. The Jerk Pork was good although I could handle it spicier (my ex wife is Nigerian so my palate is now adapted to proper spiciness). As a famous general once declared. I SHALL RETURN!

The customer service is the WORST I've experienced. Will definitely not order from there again. They don't even deserve a 1 rating.

Im not the person that would leave a google review for places but you know what ? They deserve this one. I have never been to the restaurant and only ordered from them. Stumbled across them randomly on Uber and since then i ordered like 4 times in a row. Food is absolutely banging and best puff puff of any restaurant I’ve had so far and I’m a puff puff expert (lol). Anyway try their food you won’t regret it !

I recently ordered a meal on the app and all the meal categories I ordered were bad. Stale jollof rice, burnt chicken wings was the worst, coleslaw was looking bad. Also, the packaging was awful, had the meal pressed together. There won’t be a next time definitely.

Good food. Went here the first time and it was good food but they didn’t have enough food. Second time I came here they didn’t even have food… My issue is if you don’t have food why don’t you just close shop and go home….. bizarre 🙃

Ordered on ubereats takeaway for first time yesterday and it was delicious with generous portions. Would definitely order again

Ordered on Uber eats Best Caribbean food I’ve ever had this shop is so underrated, they give good portions aswell I’ve eaten from 10+ Caribbean based stores and this by far is the best. The chefs should be proud of themselves food is amazing. I have no idea why anyone would rate this below a 5 if I could give it a 10 I would. The only suggestion I have is making the sauce containers more solid because it had spilled out a little bit but other then that no complaints at all. Again thank you for the lovely food will definitely be ordering again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don't order on Just Eat or any other app. They don't respond!! It's happened at least twice. They could have made £40! Ha! They responded!! I'll add one more star. Seems like restaurant expects their customers to read their minds! I called multiple times and there was no response!!

Best jerk chicken I've had in the UK. Service was slow but this was expected as we got there in the lunch hour.

Just no. To start with, there are no menus on the rickety tables. Get a menu from the counter and when you order, get told that the prices on the menu have gone up and they’re going to charge you more - whatever they feel like? The food took ages to come and when it did, it was literally thrown on a plate, a big old heap of mess. Fried eggs thrown on top of chips so egg yolk running all over the plate. Beans were tasteless. There is no customer service at all here and we were made to feel like our presence was an inconvenience to the staff. Avoid.

This place is a hidden gem, I had the baked potato with chicken curry and it was proper tasty. The lady who ran it was super friendly and even popped out to get me a drink she didn't have in. Top stuff

Ordered an early morning cooked breakfast via Uber Eats to fill me up before having to head out, and when it arrived it was really bad. The bacon was dry and chewy, the beans were cold and flavourless, the fried eggs were two hard overcooked rocks with solid yolks (and the app asked how I wanted the eggs cooked, and I selected sunny side up - hilarious!). I also ordered a side order of black pudding and I seriously don’t think they cooked it, it was like it had just been cut and thrown into the box. Possibly the worst cooked breakfast I’ve ever had. Avoid this place like the plague! If I could give it no stars I would.

Usually standard (basic) food and ok services it's a typical cheap breaky place, but today I phoned the women had no customer service skill (newstaffmaybe)and to be honest was bloody rude. I usually get from here once a month but from now I want be using this place at all

Take away food was horrible. Cheap ingredients and bad cooking. Overcooked steak and soggy bread ans chips. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

I ordered two meals from here via Uber eats the food came and there was hair in my work colleagues food on his fried slice I tried calling but the number online is not working it’s a dreadful place to eat don’t recommend this place from anyone

Might actually get somewhere if they removed the massive unused chIcken cooker from the front window. The cafe was done up as part of the regeneration and they have ruined it's lovely front by putting that cooker in. Useless!

I'd give 0 stars if I could because 1 star is a big stretch. The people there are rude and incompetent. I had to wait 20 minutes for a bacon and egg sandwich and only to discover they gave me the wrong sandwich when I had already left. When I went back, I had to wait another 10 minutes for my corrct sandwich and the lady who I'm assuming is the manager, even had the audacity to tell me I needed to pay the difference between the two sandwiches as she gave me the wrong price the first time. When I said that they already made me wait a total of 30 minutes and that I've now been there twice, she snatched the sandwich out of my hand and said she'll just give me back the money. I paid the difference and left, these people can't run a business for anything. All the other bad reviews are 100% correct and as for the very few good reviews, I'm pretty sure they are from the time before these current owners and staff took over.

The service is abysmal, the food is atrocious, the disregard for customers is unsurpassed. This place is the worst cafe I have ever experienced.
