Can't make what you order. When you walk in lady on the phone ignoring you. Cash only. Avoid.

Used to be fine, but service has gone terribly. I ordered food and they said within 45 minutes. After 1 hour and 15 minutes I called to enquire and they said it was already out for delivery; it didn’t arrive for 35 minutes after that, at which point the food was cold, inedible, and missing items - though I was never refunded for the missing items despite calling them to complain, and because I booked through their website rather than JustEat there is nothing I can do. I won’t be using them again.

Useless at the best of times, even though the food is good. But eh, I order stuff and I get delivered utter shite which is completely different from what I ordered…!

I placed an order tonight which was delivered quick nice an hot but after putting the curry sauce on it was very salty, I phoned them up complained and straight away replaced what I needed very good nice that the listened an felt with it x

Pretty bad soups but we were cold, it was late and they hit the spot.

Ordered delivery at 1830, didn't get delived till 20 30, food was missing from order, spoke to shop said they'd get it out to us , never turned up food was cold and bland, recommend trying else where never again will I use this take away very poor communication, 1 star I and that pushing it!!!

I am so angry I palce an order and 3hours wait still nothing phoned them up and been told to wait then ignored and they also hung up on me when I finally spoke to someone properly they kept asking to to contact the chopchop website or uber eats but I didn't order though uber I ordered from themselves. I will be going into store tomorrow to get my refund if not I will be claiming theft.

Used to order it every Saturday back when I study in Canterbury 3 years ago it was brilliant. But it seems like they have changed the ownership food is way off now very disappointed

I've used Chop Chop for 25 years and it has always been above average, however, when I ordered Tuesday evening BBQ ribs, special fried rice and a chicken curry all the dishes tasted off! The rice had a plastic artificial taste, and the chicken curry had an unpleasant twang. I phoned Chop Chop to tell them, but they had closed. I left a message and phoned back on Thursday as they were closed on Wednesday. I explained what had happened and was expecting an apology and for them to say they would knock off the money next time. But, the guy didn't care and said he would not do anything about it because it was on Tuesday. I asked, are you under new management he said no. I said can I talk to the manager. He said you expect a Chinese takeaway to have a manager! Well as it happens, yes, and I've known her for 25 years. This guy was rude and a liar trying to benefit from the years of chop-chop reputation. Be warned, the food is subpar

Usually great but recently took 2 and a half hours to deliver my order, emailed complaining and asked for a refund but no response.

The only Chinese in Canterbury that opens on a Monday. My hand was forced but the food was tasty, hot and arrived 20 mins before set time. Bravo!

I ordered all vegetarian dishes and there was a chicken bone in one of them. I phoned to complain and they did not care at all. Disgusting place and the staff are rude!!!!

Made my order at 18.30 and didn't receive my dinner until 21.30 I don't understand why they take so many orders I was told thay had 50 orders to complete.

Ordered delivery & never received it! Tried to call..phone was ‘busy’ we tried calling for over an hour & still no answer! Ordered at 6.30pm it’s now 8.30pm and no sign of our delivery coming. Will never be using again! If you are too busy DON’T accept orders you can’t fulfil!!!

Freshly cooked food delivered on time, absolutely delicious.

Strongly suspected food poisoning for me and Mum following a Birthday Chinese from chop chop. Most likely the prawns. Mum ate most and threw up first and I followed suit the next evening, violently throwing up 3 times so hard my rear lifted from the floor. Very painful experience and we are taking the case further. Advoid. Atleast Advoid seafood. Nathan.

Ordered food well in advance for delivery at a set time. That time came and went gave them 15min grace before a phone call to them. They said it was on its way within 10mins. Another 20mins last so phoned again and turned out the driver had gone to the other side of town on a wrong postcode (checked order and it was correct one supplied). He would be 5mins Now an hour later and the food still hadn’t arrived so phoned again and said not to bother delivering the food as if our in the car for the last hour would be cold and we had started cooking. They would not refund my order and said they could only give 5% discount next time if ordered over the phone and paid in cash….. 5 mins later the food arrived - just about lukewarm. We won’t be ordering from here again dispute it previously being the best Chinese takeaway in Canterbury.

OH HELL NAW. Have to thank the one and only Lord. Because I was about to try it for the first time, until I went on kent news today as I always do randomly and they posted TODAY (2/09/2023) on kent news that the place has been found to be filled with MAGGOTS. And heavy bad stench. Lol everyone reading this. It’s at ur own risk. Even if it’s cheap, ur harming ur body & health. To be honest it might close down anyways but if it don’t. At your own risk ppl.

Waited 2 hours for our food which is totally unacceptable. Rang twice to ask where our food was. It was only when I asked for a refund they said it's on it's way. Food was nice but the poor service has put me off which is a shame.

Always polite and very speedy for collections. Cost are reasonable. Parking not good but Roper road is a minutes walk. Better than parking illegally in St Dunstans.

Absolutely delicious food! Ordered on a friday night and it came within the hour. Hot, flavourful food… no complaints! Will definitely order again and the complimentary spring rolls were amazing.

Very yummy food and even better that they could accommodate my sons dietary needs. It was helpful that we were warned to order in advance for Christmas eve. The food didn't disappoint. Very stuffed now, thank you again Chop Chop.

Food was OK but owner never listens to your order, constantly gets it wrong, and when you speak to them civil they get very rude and defensive, and stay away from the Thai food it's ,absolutely disgusting, unless you like dim sum with gravy

Ordered delivery at 6.30, was advised it would arrive between 7.35-7.55! After an hour of waiting called restaurant numerous times to be put through to a voicemail, complained it was late and then Chop Chop cancelled my order at 9pm! Don’t bother at all! I went to St. Edmund's School Canterbury back in the 90s and I used to order from Chop Chop all the time, so I was looking forward to visiting this place again and devouring their roasted duck with fried rice. However, to my disappointment, the food quality was not as good as it used to be.

Lady wanted to waste the food and throw away 2 portions of noodles and lose making £10 because i changed my mind. Everybody is entitled to their opinions but some opinions make no sense.

I've tried all the Chinese take outs in Canterbury, but you cannot get better than this. It's always delivered exactly as I ordered it (and I'm very fussy as I don't like vegetables). Always delivered quickly, always delicious , good quality meat. Highly recommended

Amazing food, quick service even on a bust Saturday night. Staff are nice, if you're looking to get some Chinese food would definitely recommend there's so much on the menu, something for everyone.

Would give more stars if I could, it's that good. Ordered to collect, and had expected issues because we have had everywhere during covid. Polite, helpful, and knowledgeable of food allergies; the lady front-of-house is a gem. Ordered a chow mein without bean sprouts, and it was a refreshing change to have this taken seriously. Arrived nearly half an hour before pickup time, but this was again treated with cheerful competence. Delicious, and different sauce for the special and beef. Hungry people waiting for fish and chips were jealous of the speed and scent

We ordered a lot of food through the website, which was very nicely put together and very easy to use. 15 minutes later it was ready for us to collect. They put it all in a box, and carried it out to the car for us. Absolutely delicious food! Egg fried rice, chow mein, sweet and sour chicken balls, beef in black bean sauce, beef curry, sweet and sour Hong Kong style, duck in plum sauce, spring rolls. All of it was piping hot, tasty, and plentiful. And a decent price, considering how much we ordered! Would absolutely recommend and will be ordering again!

The best Chinese takeaway ever!!!

After a busy day seeing the sights of Kent, we ordered a Chinese take away to eat in our hotel room which was just a two minutes walk away. I ordered and paid for the food online easily and it was ready on time. The food was delicious (I’m vegetarian and my husband had a chicken dish) and there was plenty of it with a portion of complimentary prawn crackers too! Very tasty takeaway and good service!

2 hours after order is made, called restaurant and they had no clue about my order. Took a total of 3 hours to deliver 2 dishes. Waste of time and money.

I used to be a student in Canterbury, and having moved back was really looking forward to ordering from Chop Chop again (used to be my go-to takeaway). So disappointing. The quality has gone right down (rubbery chicken, flavourless rice, and the pork balls were mostly fat) and the prices have gone through the roof. Sad to say, avoid this place.

Ordered a meal on the Monday and having waited two hours began ringing. Could not get a response by either phone or email. Eventually gave up at the time the restaurant closed. Door bell went on Tuesday evening and to my surprise the meal was attempted to be delivered. As this was a day late and the fact that I eventually had instructed the restaurant to cancel, I sent away. Of course if I wanted the meal on the Tuesday I would have ordered it so. Asked delivery man to instruct the restaurant to review their emails and, as of Thursday this same week, nothing!! I get things go wrong, but you should be able to contact someone somehow!!!

We’ve just had our 1st Chinese takeaway from chop chop I have been shielding for 12 weeks & just wanted a change. I have to say that the food was lovely we had the set meal for 2 it was delivered to us 3 miles from the shop. All was piping hot arrived at the time we had requested & the flavours we wonderful the chicken balls were crisp & had great big pieces of chicken. Both my wife & I could not fault The meal at all we would certainly recommend & will use again.

The rice was nice, but the sweet and sour chicken balls didn't really taste of chicken and the sauce didn't look like a normal sauce, but look like alot of red food colouring was added to it

Bought a few dishes to eat for dinner, supper and tomorrow. So far eat egg fried rice. Rice wasn’t all cooked and very oily. Had 3 of my Sweet and Sour ‘Chicken’ Balls. 2 out of 3 ain’t bad haha. 1 was Prawn!!! Thank goodness I don’t have an allergy. Fingers crossed for the rest and the Chow Mein!

Had food from here before and let's say it was horrible cooked in old oil and basically had to bin it wouldn't even feed my cats it absolutely rank dont go here want nice Chinese go to yasmin garden I had no problems with there food good size portions and much nicer food

Waited 30 mins for a takeaway collection after being told on the phone it would be 10 mins. After waiting for half an hour, the shop assistants colleague pointed out that the order had been waiting behind the counter for 15 mins and that why hadn’t she noticed it. They had a row, professional! And I was left with a cold meal (£45) which I had sadly already paid for in advance. They offered no real apology, wouldn’t re-make the order, or give a refund. All I got was some prawn crackers and a tough luck. Money grabbing rascals, would avoid.

Never ordered from chop chop before but was recommended so gave it go. Firstly appreciated they were open at this challenging time, they did ensure 2m distancing and wore gloves and masks when serving The food, not bad, recommend the lemon chicken and chow mien Good to support the smaller businesses in these challenging times. We will go back.

What a disgusting take away,, food is foul looking staff , are rude do not even no what ingredients they put in that SLOPP . They should try and wash ther filthy curtains above the so called take away. Spare ribs was as tough as my old shoe leather in fact my shoe leather would, have tasted better. We ordered at the shop itself, not by telephone or app. Had to wait about 10 minutes and our food was ready. Everything was great, taste and temperature. We had different types of dishes: porc, duck, chow mein, chicken. It all tasted good. And it was piping hot.

Had takeaway. Do not order the glass noodles. The noodles were raw!! Rest of food was fine. So sad that the noodels has to be barely edible. Disappointed.

We ordered a takeaway from Chop Chop and the food was just awful, nothing like a Chinese takeaway should taste. The sweet and sour sauce looked as though is was a radioactive substance and the sesame prawn toasts were soggy and limp. A very poor attempt at tasty, authentic Chinese food.

Normally order from here on a regular basis with no problem. Tonight have had the worst watery tasteless takeaway ever. Was going to phone and complain but have read the responses on previous reviews ! Seems to be going downhill fast wont be ordering again

Our local Chinese takeaway, we keep going there because they keep providing us with good takeaway food reasonably quickly. If you go to a properly posh sit-down Chinese restaurant the quality might be slightly better (though I've been to plenty that thought themselves posh which were not nearly as good,) but you'll pay substantially more & probably won't have a bag of prawn crackers for breakfast...

Ordered from here on Saturday night and the food arrived late, cold and was quite frankly disgusting. I tried to phone them and complain on the night but they were already closed, so I rang the next day when they opened, only to be told if you don’t like it, don’t order from here again. I had to throw away £20 worth of food as I couldn’t eat it and will definitely never eat from here again. Waste of money.

Just moved back to Canterbury, always used to order from here. Food is fine (not great, not awful) but has become far too expensive. Definitely not worth the price. Shame, Chop Chop used to be really good value. Won't use again.

In my opinion, the best Chinese Takeaway in the area. The food is fantastic, fresh and simply delicious. Staff is very busy but always polite and never rush me to make a choice. Delivery drivers have good manners too.

Worst egg fried rice i have ever had. Watery curry. Rice tasted like it was microwaved ate least twice.

Order at 7 and web site said 8.20 Nothing. Called and told web site wrong and would be another 20 mins. No apologies just an offer to cancel. So assume nothing made. Wish I had read other reviews before ordering

Absolutely vile woman who owns the business and equally vile food: look down this page you can clearly see a trend. I called to complain and got spoken to in the most disgusting way.... apparently the excuse for them getting my order wrong and the rice being wet and soggy and no sauce on my chow mein with sauce are: they have a new chef, I must have been drunk, i need to ask to have a curry when it is clearly printed on the menu as a meal for one, I havnt tried the food/ then I have just called because I couldn’t eat it and want a fresh one (these where all excuses shouted at me aggressively). Also another reason is that she is a mother and she would not be rude and she will be calling the police. Laughable, embarrassing and never getting my custom again. Awful food. Very bland and dry. Ordered a special chow mein...received a tub of noodles with 2 slices of chicken and a prawn on top! Special fried rice was no better. Sweet and sour Hong Kong style was like eating cardboard. Was a fairly big order, with most of the food being below average in all aspects! Waited an hour and a half for delivery to end up with a feast of banana fritters and prawn crackers as everything else went in the bin! Highly dissatisfied and disappointed.

Best Chinese that delivers in Canterbury. The food is always hot and is reasonably priced. Delivery is nice and quick unless they are busy but they will tell you before ordering.

Got sent wrong food because of a glich with just eat rang up to ask for them to swap got told no and spoken too rudely tried to explain that my partner is 30 weeks pregnant and allergic to the food that was sent and they didnt care will never use them again.
