Polite staff, ordered in store and ready in 10 mins! Ordered special chow mein, egg fried rice, mini spring rolls, chicken curry, and sweet and sour chicken balls. Every item was faultless and delicious. Highly recommend.

Used to be friendly but now lacks charm and patience. Our dishes were supposed to have meat and prawns! However no prawns and probably one piece of chicken and beef. Total rip off and surly service. Obviously cutting corners. Ordered tonight, stay away. The place across the road was heaving and obviously doing something right. This place was empty and totally lacking unlike last year when food and service were good.

Absolutely gorgeous I dont write reviews but living in the state where the Chinese food is awful this place is amazing and so good-quality food and taste Definitely recommend this small dining place close to the city center

Nice Chinese except for the special chow main was like elastic band horrible wouldant recomend it

1. There are two menus for Chinese and foreigners, but the Chinese menu is a lot more expensive for the same dishes. 2. Roast duck rice is not roast duck rice at all 3. The boss has a very bad attitude and often stares at you without saying anything. For example, she heard the wrong amount when checking out, and she didn't say anything when paying, but just stared at you, which was very uncomfortable.

I had Chinese food for dinner against my better judgement and I’m really not proud of myself. We were lazy to eat out so I thought to take away some fried rice and fried noodles which surely couldn’t go too wrong. But turned up at the restaurant and was swayed when I was shown a Chinese-only menu. In my experience such a menu for only Chinese people should be good - but I couldn’t be more wrong. The duck horfun soup was still edible, but the Mala chicken noodles was just oil and a pile of bones. I guess I had images of Tsui Wah’s Mala chicken rice noodle soup in mind and the reality shocked us all. The meal was not cheap either. So in such provincial Chinese takeaways I would advise one to stick to safer dishes like fried rice and noodles. Meanwhile I do not know if the owner was having a bad day, but a little smile once in a while surely wouldn’t hurt.

Ordered from here this evening, what a waste of money. The food was bland, and also cold on arrival, prawn crackers were off. The chicken was so dry, couldn’t eat it. Delivery driver called to let me know he was outside.. he was not, he had gone to the wrong part of Canterbury, 10 minutes later he arrived and told me it was my fault. Checked my order and I did put the correct address, he typed it wrong. This used to be my favourite 2 years ago, definitely not anymore.

For years I have been a loyal customer here and the food has always been good, but friday night was awful, chicken balls tasted off, lemon chicken wasn't up to standard in fact the only thing I enjoyed was the seaweed the rest was awful worst £50 I ever spent on a Chinese. So as a customer. Unfortunately I won't be ordering again.

Was so nice we were staying at the farload hotel across the road and they were only serving posh pizza lol my partner was not feeling great so we wanted to stay in and chill ,food and service were on point, will use again 😀

If I could give 0 stars, I would give it 0. I ordered a bowl of beef rice noodles, but the bowl was not cleaned. At the end of the meal, I found it was very disgusting.

Ordered the "chicken with green peppers in chilli sauce" for takeaway. Wasn't really sure what the dish would include, but asked for it to be spicy. They didn't disappoint. Both green and red chillies, plus bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrot, onions, green peppers and red peppers in a spicy sauce. Huge portion, both the rice and main dish trays were completely full. Food was hot and ready for collection earlier than the timescale given online. Would definitely go back if I'm in the city.

Really gone down hill. Had 3 bad takeaways in a row - bone in chicken chow mein, egg friend rice (about an 1/8 of an egg in it), pork fatty. The staff are nice. Online you have to pay for a bag even though you might not need one. They’ve missed a real opportunity with Chop Chop being closed for a while to take business but the food just isn’t good enough.

Favourite Chinese takeaway in Canterbury, although sometimes delivery is a bit long! But the food is properly nice! (Apart from the spring rolls, they are clearly cheap frozen ones that just aren’t nice)

I have only given 1 star for atmosphere as ive not eaten in here. As for the food, its amazing. Its so fresh and its absolutely delicious. Lets just say i live right next to another Chinese takeaway, but would rather wait for the food from here, no comparison. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Have ordered from here a few times, the food not *always* being terrible, but my previous and last order took the cake. Both rice and noodle dishes were bland and tasteless, even the sauce couldn't resurrect it. Chicken balls were so raw inside I could still hear clucking, but more or less cremated on the outside. My friend was left with food poisoning only around 6 hours after eating the food. Will not be ordering again.

The store was booked that day, but the owner didn't update the situation on Google map. When I came in the heavy rain, the owner kicked me and my friend away with an indifferent attitude. I won't come back next time. This kind of treatment Sooner or later, Ke Zhi Dao will close its doors.

I had to give one star to write a review, should not have any stars. Food awful and was very ill. My advise would be to avoid this establishment and go elsewhere.

Mum and I had a light lunch here (beef stir fry ho fun noddles & won ton soup to share) and it was delightful. Mum was craving Chinese food after a week visiting the UK and not having had any real Chinese food. The lady at the counter spoke to us in Cantonese.

Best Chinese around amazing proper food

Came in for the lunch special, which had been discontinued. The set menus are great value, especially if you're in the habit of sharing anyway. We were both pretty hungry, but still had enough left over to make a decent supper

We've been ordering take out from Golden Kitchen for almost 7 years and it never disapoints. The set menus are particularly good value for money as most 'set meals for 2' could easily feed 5-6. Prices have increased recently but to be expected.

Use to get chiness here all the time not any more it's gone down hill taste vail must of change the cook very disappointed so are trying to look for another Chinese restaurant now

Very bland food. Never ordering again. I don’t recommend the barbecue spare ribs either. Absolutely disgusting and the worst I’ve ever had. I should’ve seen it coming; white-owned Chinese restaurants never cook Chinese food properly. It’s a shame Golden Dragon is no longer in Canterbury, it was truly the best.

We have been using this Chinese for 3 years and it’s been top quality however we ordered over the holiday period and the quality was awful. Chicken balls with no chicken, overly greasy food which made us sick and very dry duck. I know prices of food have increased but I would rather pay more for the Chinese and have better quality.

Loved their pancake roll! I've tried many takeout/restaurants trying to replicate the ones I enjoyed in London and Golden Kitchen surpassed any I've enjoyed before. Non greasy, tasty food and thick curry sauce with just the right spice.. for me anyway

Original delivery time was 40 mins so ordered and as soon as payment went through it updated to over an hour. A call to the restaurant and nearly double the estimated time for delivery my order still isn’t with me - terrible customer service. Think twice before ordering

Giving it 5* as loved the taste so much. I know it's full of MSG and salt, but my stomach loves their Singapore fried rice, and their spring rolls are delicious with a very thick soft coating. I only did takeouts but their restaurant is nice and chilled in there.

We ordered a vegetarian takeaway. We ordered vegetable chop suey, bean curd in black bean sauce, fried baby sweetcorn with cashew nuts and egg fried rice. The bill was £27! There were four cashew nuts in the baby sweetcorn dish!! Every dish except the rice was full to bursting with baby sweetcorn. The restaurant/takeaway was in “The award winning Chinese takeaway good eating guide”. We asked what this was. Not one member of staff new what this was including the chef. It doesn’t exist. There was not one person eating in the restaurant and this was 8pm on a Friday night. The food tasted ok. I would DEFINITELy not use this takeout. It is a total rip off. Don’t waste your money.

Takeaway order placed online, and prepared in just over half an hour. Did not rate this takeaway as highly as our usual - S&S chicken balls were not crisp, but were rather soggy. Probably will not use again.

When ordered, was told it would take an hour to arrive, when it arrived, the sweet and sour sauce wasn't nice at all, the chicken was chewy, wasnt good... Had my friend get food poisoning from RICE!!! EGG FRIED RICE!!! I didnt have any luckily... DO NOT GO HERE

Ordered chicken and cashews in yellow bean sauce, in any other Chinese takeaway this would be way different. Had no cashews and totally spicy and did not listen to our confusion over the phone.

Arrived late evening on a Sunday for an overnight stay in Canterbury and this was the only place we found still serving after 9pm. Food was very tasty and portions just right. I'll be kind and not critique their choice of music 🤦

水煮牛肉£12.3.用的炸干辣椒碎，特别干辣呛嗓子，毫无香辣口感，牛肉质量一般，嚼不烂。鱼香肉丝£9.8 厨师完全是门外汉的做法，可以叫蒜炒肉条，木耳贵不介意你用洋葱和青椒取代，但是刀工真的不敢恭维，可以说是肉条炒菜棒子。虾仁滑蛋£9.8 蛋在哪里不知道？满盘子的淀粉可以叫淀粉虾仁饭。总体来讲，在整个中餐中价格略贵，菜品味道极其一般。差评。

I had to give one star to leave this comment but wouldn’t actually give them one star I’m afraid. The food arrived in a timely manor and was hot. But sorry to say the sweet and sour chicken was not nice, the sauce was extremely vinegar smelling and the balls were so tough we couldn’t bite through them and when opened it was long over cooked batter! The chicken inside fell apart and looked like bits pushed together, rather than nice lumps of chicken. The egg fried rice looked lovely but very surprised to find chips in it and lumps of hard batter! Very disappointed and couldn’t find an email address to ask for a refund??

Lovely staff, Delicious range of food, I highly recommend the Hong Kong style Sweet and Sour Chicken with Egg Fried Rice, when you order from home it arrives very quickly and still warm, Overall excellent :)

I was so surprised to see the mixed reviews of Golden Kitchen. We have lived in Canterbury for 4 years now and have had more takeaways than I can remember (as bad as that sounds!). Food has always been delivered piping hot and fresh, and always delicious. After trying others beforehand, this is definitely the best in Canterbury - our go to Chinese takeaway!

I've not eaten in here but have had several takeaways delivered to me at home. Delicious food, and it feels less greasy than some takeaways. They kindly let us change the egg noodles to rice noodles free of charge, to make some of the dishes gluten-free.

Ordered a take away for our daughters 18th birthday garden gathering (Covid friendly). We put in a large order and were warned of a 45 minute wait. Lovely, friendly efficient lady on the phone and order delivered by a great bloke within 30 minutes. Food was delicious. Only ordered from here because a friend recommended and will definitely use again. Thank you Golden Kitchen for helping to make my daughters lock down birthday tasty.

We are very regular customers with Golden Kitchen for takeaway food. Unfortunately this evening has seriously dissuaded us from using them again. When we called to place our order we were told there would be a 90 minute wait. This is very long but it’s a busy night of the year and we were happy to wait. When 90 minutes had passed we called to check on the status of the order; we were kept waiting on the phone for so long we hung up. Nobody called back. We waited again and still had no order so we called to cancel our order; we were told only “ok you can cancel your order” with no apology. When this was challenged we were told that they “had to hang up now because they had other orders to deal with”. I’m afraid this isn’t how I expect to be treated as a regular customer and belays an attitude focussed solely on making money and not on good customer experience.

We normally order from golden kitchen and for the last 5 years every Xmas eve we always get a takeaway from here. Tonight they were very busy and admitted they wouldn’t be able to deliver any food. So I said I would pick it up and I’m glad I did! The food is normally very good but even though the kitchen was slammed tonight I’ll be honest that was the best takeaway I’ve ever had from them. I haven’t posted a review on trip advisor n ages but I felt I had to. they deserve it.

Ordered from here and food was horrible cooked in old oil. Makes me wonder what the kitchen must be like and to top it all off found a hair in my son food so definitely will not go here ever again dirty rotten food with hair in my food .

We were staying in Canterbury for a few days and after several meals eating out decided to try a Chinese takeaway. Having not been to Canterbury before we had no knowledge of the quality of any restaurants so decided on trying this one based on trip advisor reviews and having walked past it earlier in the day. Lucky choice as our meal was very good. We ordered on line and to be fair the meal arrived pretty much on time and was still nice and hot without the need to pop in the oven to heat it up a bit. We tried the chicken and sweet corn soup and the hot and sour. Both were tasty and good portions. Mains were chicken in yellow bean sauce and chicken with chilli. Again both were very tasty and generous portions, if anything a bit too much. Would recommend and will certainly use again.

We thought we would try out a new Chinese in Canterbury - big mistake The floor is filthy as is the toilet. For some reason they feel the need to have a fly catching device/zapper that sits above one of the dining tables by the front window. The food itself was actually very nice, but unfortunately made us both physically sick later on that night and into the next day. Never again

Cheep tasty and fun. Look near the end of the menu for a customized meal option. My favourite is shrimp in an onion and ginger sauce with egg fried rice and added cashews. I get it every time. They also have lovely soups right at the back of the menu and they are very nice.

Stumbled across this cute family run Chinese restaurant and all four of us were not disappointed. I wanted to write a review and surprisingly came across the negativity upon trip advisor. I can understand some of the negativity, if what you want is a bulk standard run of the mill Chinese restaurant or takeaway. What these guys do is quite unique and if you grasp that from the very start but I’d recommend to eat in to fully appreciate the experience. Homemade spring rolls that were delicious and plenty full. We had a large selection of various main dishes and they were fantastic. I felt as if I had visited the families home and had dinner with them. Try it. You won’t be disappointed. Delicious!

Just saying we ordered a takeaway for 7 pm on Saturday 17th August for 6 people - we live 1 mile from the restaurant. The meal was delivered properly and it was excellent at only £48. I enjoyed the beef, duck, chicken, fried rice and must praise the quality of the food! I recommend this restaurant as do some of my Chinese students!

Tenía un Chow Mein especial (113 no el 112 que la camarera dijo que estaría en una salsa), langostinos agridulces y algas crujientes como un lado.El menú de postres es ecléctico. Tomé helado de coco en una media cáscara de coco.Todos los platos estaban bien preparados y el personal era muy amable y paciente con mi falta de habilidades para ordenar.

El chow mien sabía quemado. El arroz frito con huevo sabía como un hervor de Poundland en una bolsa y apenas tenía huevo para empezar. ¡Al momento del restaurante, no iban a reembolsarme en ningún alimento que se retiró del contenedor! Yo tenía dos bocados del plato hecho y era absolutamente asqueroso. No es un chino adecuado.

No soy tan exigente, una comida china es siempre un riesgo. Pero esta noche fue horrible. Bolas de pollo sin cocinar que eran rosadas y de filamentos en el medio. Un plato de pollo donde habían frito las tiras de pollo en harina y las empapó en un marrón insípido. Gusanos delgados resultaron y una vez más, el pollo no comestible. La "salsa" era más como un plato de agua marrón con plantas verdes envueltas en él, no verduras como tales.El arroz estaba seco.El rollo de primavera fue duro y pastoso, tuvo que rasgarlo como un perro para rasgarlo.Decepcionante para decir lo menos. Me sentí como si hubieran cocinado a toda prisa. El repartidor era amable. No volveré a ordenar desde allí.

En Canterbury durante el día, en un viaje por los bares de la ciudad, se imaginó a un chino y se topó con este pequeño lugar, principalmente para llevar, pero tiene algunas mesas para que pueda comer. Un menú muy tradicional que consiste en sopas, entrantes fritos. , tortitas de pato, chow miens, arroces fritos, carne de res, cerdo, platos de pollo, etc. . . El local tiene una licencia para que haya cerveza y vino, no una gran selección, pero sí suficiente. Nuestra comida fue deliciosa, bien sazonada y buenas raciones, el chow sien especial en particular fue excelente, con ese maravilloso sabor distintivo de wok caliente y una ligera carbonización de cebolla y el uso de soja oscura ¡maravilloso! ! ! En general, un pequeño restaurante chino básico que sirve cocina de calidad para la comida de mesa.

Nick is a lovely delivery driver!!!! Great deliver service but the reception phone service was terrible and the food was a mess. The pancake rolls were batter and not pastry and the chicken wings you could tell were very old and not freshly cooked.

Good selection including making your own dish up for only £6.90. A good range of meal choices including the standard set menus famous in Chinese restaurants in the UK. Would definitely eat here again and recommend

Pedimos comida para la entrega un martes por la noche, nuestros entrantes no eran comestibles, pinchos de satay de pollo no cocinados adecuadamente y la tostada de langostinos estaba empapada y pegajosa. Llamamos al restaurante que no estaba interesado y dijimos que no habían tenido ninguna otra queja y, tal como lo habíamos entregado una vez que salió de la cocina, ¡no fue su problema! ¡Qué maravilloso servicio al cliente!

Durante una reciente visita a Canterbury, pensé que probaría este pequeño restaurante cerca de Westgate. La decoración es bastante básica y los precios lo reflejan. El personal fue lo suficientemente educado y mi comida, carnes mezcladas en salsa de frijoles negros, estaba bien y había un montón de cosas. Por menos de 10 incluyendo una bebida, no tengo ninguna queja. Algunos otros críticos aquí parecen haber tenido menos suerte.

Mi experiencia ha sido muy buena, la comida estaba espectacular, me ha gustado mucho, el local es muy acogedor y el personal muy atento y amable.

Very authentic Chinese food in Canterbury!

Fui a almorzar y gratamente el sabor de sus platos eran muy buenos, wl local algo antiguo pero limpio y su personal muy amable.

Stumbled across this little Chinese restaurant as we walked around Canterbury. Service was quick and efficient. I was impressed how quickly the dishes came out after ordering. Enjoyed the salt and pepper tofu and the chilli lamb.

Om and off Off I have been using this place for years , a while back I took food back because it was undercooked and cold even thoug I just live round the corner, they grudgingly replaced it . So, out of 8/1o meals I have complained twice because it was definitely not hot , cooked or acceptable. I went in a few weeks ago, ordered a meal , the guy knew who I was , served me, took it home, it was fine,, actually it was pretty fine. So, a week later , phoned in an order early on a Saturday night, a smalll order, but an order nevertheless which I was planning to collect, so no delivery issues. The owner informs me that he will not take the order because I complain too much, yet, he was happy to serve me mid week all smiles It`s a pity, because the food is pretty good, but there is no consistency, etiher undercooked and cold or good Sadly I wont be using again, because it seems to me that they have a take it or leave it attitude when it is not up to the mark .

Based on my recent visits,,, Meats were little bit dried and quality became lower than I expected. So I give 3 stars from 5 stars previously I gave.
