Well what can I say absolutely brilliant I am on short break with a young adult with autism who I support. We did this chocolate tour and it did not disappoint free samples and very informative from how it all started to where we are today with chocolate. The tour guide JOSH NOT DEREK LOL (tour joke) he knew what he was talking about and was friendly and made the tour with laughter. Down side didn’t expect cash to buy tickets so would recommend buying them in advanced plus you get pre-booking discount

Actors were good, host was very engaging. However the experience let them down, very very small and basic inside and the tasting chocolates were basic such as a kitkat so nothing particularly noteworthy. Compared to other similarl experiences like cadburys world or even the other chocolate making center in York, wouldn’t reccomend as much.

This lad will go far and needs a raise. The tour was an hour long but due to moving from room to room to cover different subjects and having bits to eat or drink in each one it broke it up very well so never dragged. In order to experience the York Chocolate Story, I would highly recommend to book in advance - for two reasons a) it’s very busy there b) you get a discount. I wasn’t too overwhelmed, it’s definitely fun for kids, you will learn about the factory’s history while tasting lots of chocolate & finish by creating your own chocolate masterpiece. I would have liked to learn more about the whole factory history, however this might have been too long for a tour / or running this smoothly as everything is very timed - the tour is exactly 1h long. the last bit of the tour is really just centered around the chocolate lolli - which is definitely fun for kids, but a bit silly for adults. we also would have liked to chose our own flavor for the lolli, unfortunately it was white chocolate only. our guide was fantastic & great with everyone.

The chocolatier we spent time with at the end (whose name I have forgotten, sorry!) was also a treat to talk to and very skilled. Staff downstairs seemed very harried and not as engaged, though we could see big groups coming through so understandable. Unfortunate that the company's policy on changing date/time (from an apparently otherwise empty 10:30am booking for 2 people to a not-yet-full afternoon group) still cost us £15 - bit of a rort. So if booking in advance, make triple sure you will make it!!

My husband and I made a last minute decision to visit the York Chocolate Story with our 3 year old son during a trip to York. We were initially sceptical as we’re vegan but I love chocolate and a few Google reviews said they catered for dairy-free visitors. We are so glad we visited and agreed it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our tour guide was Austin and, after telling him we can’t eat dairy at the start of the tour, we were very well catered for. I think we actually had more chocolate than those who could eat dairy! We had a different chocolate and toppings for the Lolly making and the chocolate was suprisingly delicious! I would absolutely recommend the tour to anyone! We noticed a coeliac member of the group also was well catered for. The only criticism we have is the prices in the gift shop- these were so steep that we didn’t buy anything.

I was trying to get it open. Then realised the date was wrong by 1 day. We understand this is our mistake but we were told we would have to repay to book. They can't transfer tickets. A little bit of empathy would have went a long way considering it was a genuine mistake and the tickets are expensive. My son has left crying. Edit since I can't reply. Actually I can see this happens alot. All the 1 star reviews are similar experiences. The attitude isn't acceptable and people pay alot of money to visit. It would be nice to show a human side and help people who want to visit. The experience is alot of money for people and mistakes happen.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great local pub with a really nice and friendly atmosphere. The food is excellent — especially the Tuesday burger offer (buy one, get one free), which is fantastic value! Drinks are reasonably priced, and there’s plenty of parking both in the front and back. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

I live in York went into town shopping Stopped off here as we wanted a drink , come in a lot for food etc , Went inside to the bar and was told its table service only Ok not a problem but that was for outside , one problem no tables , looked inside there was plenty empty … one problem again Can only sit there if you order food I don’t know if this was because it’s Christmas Market month But what I do know is I won’t be giving you my custom in January or any other month now when trade goes quiet you need locals and tourists alike to keep your trade

Mi marido y yo visitamos bastante a menudo. Así que pensé en traer a mis nietos de visita de Australia. Damos 2 comidas para niños. No hay palo de verduras disponible. No ensalada. Para los niños. Había literalmente 5 fichas y 4 cabos de chatarra en mi placa de nietos absolutamente impactante. Ellos y yo NO nos quedamos impresionados e hicimos sentir mi sensación a la camarera. Mmm no feliz.
