Chitty's Cakes in Birmingham

I booked a cupcake decorating course for myself and a friend of mine I booked via the website on the 5th of January. Payment was taken I didn’t receive any correspondence so I left a voice message and a sent an email. I didn’t receive a reply so I called the shop in the morning of the course. The receptionist passed it to the owner She was very curt , lacked professionalism and empathy. She didn’t offer an apology or an alternative and said I emailed you twice and I didn’t hear anything so I assumed you didn’t want to attend . She then said I emailed you twice it must have gone to your junk mail, I replied I had checked my junk mail and not received anything I said I was very upset and wouldn’t be using her services again, she put the phone down on me I had to call back and ask for a refund, as I wasn’t even offered a refund Please be wary of this place , totally unprofessional

Ordered for my mom’s 60th birthday, cake looked fantastic and tasted even better! Jules was so helpful and responsive to all my enquiries& my mom absolutely loved it! Thanks again!

El café estaba demasiado caro, el café estaba bien, los pasteles estaban secos, es una pena, ya que es un lugar agradable

Had the most fun day today on the cupcake decorating course with julie who is a fabulous host! The workshop was just brilliant. So much thought and effort has been put into the process and I love how you actually make the cakes rather than just decorate. We made unicorns and rainbows and I couldn’t believe how good they were. Really a great find and a little gem! Be perfect with some friends to do - I can’t remember the last time we laughed so much and felt at ease - a lovely setting we will be back! x

A fabulous morning making cupcakes with Julie and her team. Went with my daughter and we really enjoyed the whole experience. I am a novice cupcake maker so the pace was just right. We came away with 7 beautifully decorated cakes each. Excellent value for money. Will definitely visit again. Thank you. X

Another magnificent cake from Chitty's Cakes Ltd. For my daughters 21st birthday, we asked for a GOT themed cake with my daughter sitting on the throne. What we got was more then expected and it made my daughter very very happy. It's attention to service, quality and the final product which makes Chitty's Cakes number one in Birmingham. Thank you guys and see see in July for 2 more cakes.

I had a brilliant day at the cake decorating class! Rebecca was a great teacher, and I would certainly return. A lot of fun and great to learn some new cake decorating tips! Would highly recommend.

I have had over 3 cakes now made exclusively for family birthdays from Rebecca and her team, each one was not only delicious but original and very well made. I definitely will come back for more!

Really lovely cakes. I ordered a heart shaped mehndi cake and cupcakes for a celebration and they did a super job. The cake was really delicious and beautifully decorated- exactly as specified- and I was very happy with it. The vanilla bean cupcakes were also lovely and we were also able to have the same cakes gluten free. I've also bought cupcakes and slices of cake from the shop and they've always been perfect- really worth a visit.

Chitty’s made me a bespoke ‘Friends themed’ 18th Bday cake for my daughter. It was a fabulous design and tasted delicious. Red velvet with buttercream filling and my daughter sat on the friends sofa in icing! My daughter was delighted. Cake delivered to my door. Fantastic service. Thank you Chitty’s!

Found this place by accident while wandering off course in Digbeth. You wouldn’t know of its existence otherwise as there are no sign posts from the main road. The cake shop was very cute and sold all manner of cake making accessories. We ordered tea and cupcakes for all our family, which they served on a cute tea service. The staff were helpful and gave us baking tips to those those who were interested in cake making. Myself however just wanted to devour a lemon curd cupcake, which didn’t last long but was really nice. This place was indeed a gem of Digbeth and we will be back soon. This place has to be tried before you die.

Beautiful little place from the outside thought we’d pop in for a drink and cake. The cakes we had were really nice. However the coffee was extremely weak we thought we’d been given tea which would have been fine. Turned out just extremely weak coffee...

Again another lovely visit to Chitty's cakes! And I was able to take part in a cake class. I was so proud of my decorated cake. I wish we lived closer so I could attend more classes.

Wide selection of cupcakes, prices are ok. However most of the cupcakes are very very dry! However The salted caramel gluten free cupcake is to die for !!!

As a gift for my young cousin, I booked him onto the Emoji-biscuit decorating class. I was let down 3 hours before the class set to begun, due to illness of the tutor. We rescheduled for a month later, only for Chitty Cakes to cancel...

We visited Chitty's Cakes on their birthday weekend and had a fantastic time with friends. The cakes were delicious and the service fantastic, as always! We really wish we lived closer!

Ugly cake. Ruined my wedding! I showed Rebecca a photo of the cake I wanted for my wedding and she promised to make it the same but it will be "slightly" different. Not to mention our initials looked like they were put on with play...

We stopped off for refreshments during a Scout monopoly run - so glad we found it! Good service, great range of cakes and drinks. So many options for vegans and gluten free. Delicious! Will be revisiting ☺
