Locals pub. They seemed friendly enough, drinks OK. Some bald guy called Carl was hogging the pool table and never bought a drink all night while I was there!

We hired the Highbury function suite for my mom’s funeral wake. There was plenty of room in the function suite, we had our own access, own toilets, it was wheelchair friendly and there were two rooms one of these had there own bar area. The food was very good and there was enough for the 100 guests. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive to all of our needs and I would recommend the venue which was family friendly. We had our own band playing in the early evening and the stage area was suitable for any kind of setup, a band or DJ. Thank you very much Deb for all of your support and advice.

Not the dog friendly pub we thought it was. My dog was shaking and terrified by the manager shouting at my partner who asked politely can you check that there is no vaping as my partner has bad asthma. She is a carer for her son has severe autism and learning difficulties, she needs to stay healthy to look after him so can do without chest infections and breathing difficulties. Did not expect to rudeness . If the review is negative it is because it is deserved and we are rightly angry. As for my girlfriend being a keyboard warrier she says it as it is! As she is shocked and hurt. She was verbally abused , was in tears, she already suffers from depression and now is feeling worse. We have been drinking in this pub for some time now we don't spend as much as the vapers as we are not there all day everyday. When management write their own reviews it says a lot. If i wanted to cause drama i would mention other goings on at the pub, we only raised this particular issue as my girlfriends health was deteriorating due to asthma. Something that could.of simply been resolved has turned out ridiculous. Before people are quick to judge the reviews she left put yourself in her shoes for one day. That little bit of support from all those involved would of gone a long way. All those that agree with smoking in the pub arebnot goingnto complain if they are smokers themselves are they! She now has covid, ventilationbwould if gone a long way.

A pub where anything goes if you have your feet under the table. Management turn a blind eye and are extrely rude and arrogant. Very clicky. If being asthmatic is something to be rude to customers about surrounded by clouds of smoke from vaping despite manageress stating a no smoking policy. Accused of lying about it the fact regulars are puffing away ALL night. Why should customers health be put at risk by ignorance. At least my snake earrings i wore out were apt for this occasion when one can turn on you so quickly.

Popped in for drinks whilst visiting family who live nearby. We have visited several times in the past. The Highbury is what a pub should be-a no nonsense solid traditional Birmingham hostelry serving a good range of cask beers, lager etc. The pub is split into from what I could see 4 parts, the main bar with a wooden floor behind which was a ‘lounge’ type area which was carpeted, another small side bar (snug?) and a good size function room. There is also a ‘beer garden’. You can also order food at the Highbury , we looked at the menu and it seemed to provide for a good selection although we have yet to sample the menus. There were several posters advertising various acts who were to appear over the coming Months at the Highbury. Now here’s the best bit, mentioned earlier the main bar - well you can take your dog into this bar and they very kindly provide a few dog treats. Whilst we were there staff even provided a bowl of fresh water for our dog how nice was that! All staff were friendly attentive and helpful and we will certainly be back.

Only went to see a band in the back room but will say it is a decent place for a small venue to watch a good band, go on give it a try if you are in the area

Always a pleasing visit, good real ale and pub food. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the place is very well managed. This pub was in danger of closing down a couple of years ago; now it is revitalised and a great stopping place for ramblers along the Rea Valley, alongside a great nature reserve nearby at holders Woods. There is always a friendly atmosphere with jolly, inoffensive banter between regulars and staff. This, I believe, is due to the attentive and experienced management who are known by many and very well respected.

This is a half decent pub for local people. Not the sort of place you'd take someone for a treat, but ok for a drink and pub food. Also has a beer garden that's kid friendly. We used to go every so often but haven't been for a while. The problem is, the landlady is sour faced and the landlord is a drinker who needs to keep his hands to himself. I'd heard rumours but always thought it was vicious gossip. My friend and I found out first hand that it's not. If I want to have a drunk man touching me, I'll find a cattle market nightclub to go to. Don't expect it at a local pub from the man that's supposed to be in charge but is actually drunk on duty. I'm not surprised his wife looks miserable as sin.

Have used this pub for a couple of years. Beer (real ale) very well kept and served. Has guests ales that have been fine. Meals are good. Only bad point, not dog friendly. Shame as it's in the middle of great walks.

This is a very traditional pub, a little quiet at lunchtime, but does have busy weekends with bands and entertainment. We go for a lunchtime from work on Fridays and have to say this is the best fish and chips to be had in the area. Amazing portion size, freshly cooked to order, very tasty and reasonably priced. Definitely worth trying out, apparently the pint of scampi is good too. I am sticking with the fish and chips.

This pub has just been newly refurbished and under new management who are well known around the area. Frank and Collette formerly of the Selly Park Tavern. The staff are all welcoming and friendly. They welcome families and serve food everyday with a good range of affordable and delicious meal, with their lunchtime offer only 2 for £9!. They have Sky Sports and screen Live football, as well as having Live bands on regular occasions. There is also a spacious function room that is available to hire for any occasion. This pub has dramatically improved since a few months ago and I shall be using it as my new local.
