Chippendales Tearooms in Leeds

Realmente me encantó este pequeño salón de té carismático. Es peculiar y anticuado por dentro, lo que aumenta el atractivo. El bollo era casero y delicioso - mermelada muy sabrosa con trozos de fresa reales y crema coagulada. Pastel de limón casero también era genial! Una buena olla de té Yorkshire para 2. Es un lindo salón de té con carácter único, a diferencia de los cientos de cafeterías típicas modernas que se pueden encontrar en cualquier lugar. Volveré por más té y pastel : )

Llamé para un café y pastel, no se hizo bienvenido en absoluto, debería haber salido entonces, pero era un día frío y cafetería habitual estaba cerrada, así que pedimos un café y pedazo de pastel. El café tardó un poco en llegar, pero cuando lo hizo se nos trajo en una bandeja sucia que podía ver que la comida se había derramado en ella antes y no se había limpiado, un café se había derramado en el platillo y se derramó más cuando se puso en la mesa, ningún intento de disculparse simplemente se fue, pastel de manzana eran individuales que contenían más aire fresco que la manzana, no se le dieron servilletas o cualquier cubierto para comer. Instalaciones sanitarias donde sucio. ¡No regresaré, ahora sé por qué estaba vacío!

Tres de nosotros paramos por una bebida caliente y pasteles. Definitivamente no volveré. La radio estaba encendida, el café estaba completamente vacío, mi amigo preguntó amablemente si la radio se podía apagar. La dueña era gruñona y antipática, le tomó un minuto decidir que la radio podría apagarse después de que mi amigo dijo que estaba bien, si no como podemos ir a otro café. Después de sentarnos, nos movimos de mesa como la esquina que olíamos húmedo y desagradable, propietario no estaba contento con esto. Encontramos que el mantel estaba muy manchado y bastante sucio. Cuando mi amiga me preguntó (muy educadamente) si podíamos cambiarlo por uno limpio, la dueña del café se puso muy defensiva y dijo que había tenido una mañana muy ocupada, tenía un cliente que tenía una comida en la mesa y por supuesto no podía pedirles que hicieran un desastre. Ella continuó diciendo que la semana pasada tuvo 5 * inspección de higiene. Más tarde descubrimos que era mentira. Ella no cambió el mantel sucio. Pudimos ver que estaba muy a la defensiva así que mi amiga se disculpó por molestarla. No había nadie en el café todo el tiempo que estuvimos allí. Personalmente si yo fuera el dueño del negocio, me habría avergonzado en el estándar de limpieza. Entre nosotros pedimos 2 bebidas calientes, un agua caliente y dos pasteles. Después de pagar la factura sin recibo dado, mi amigo se dio cuenta de que nos habían cobrado alrededor de £ 2. 50 para el agua caliente! Ya sea eso o los pasteles muy pequeños de baja calidad, era más de £ 4 la rebanada, tenga en cuenta que este es un salón de té sucio, anticuado, no de calidad limpia, café moderno. Además, mi amiga había caminado por el café a la 1 pm y estaba totalmente vacío entonces también, así que no estoy seguro de lo que quería decir cuando dijo que el café había estado MUY ocupado. El servicio en general era pobre. Deberíamos habernos ido cuando ella no cambió el trapo sucio pero como las bebidas ya estaban hechas, nos sentimos mal por irnos. Dejé la mayor parte de mi pastel de chocolate ya que no lo disfruté en absoluto. El pastel de café que tomó mi amigo tampoco fue fantástico. Por supuesto que no queremos que nadie pierda el negocio, sin embargo, tampoco está bien cobrarle a la gente buen dinero por un servicio muy pobre, mala calidad y cobrarles de más. Después de esta experiencia, fuimos a leer algunas reseñas y encontramos una serie de reseñas que se hicieron eco de nuestra propia experiencia. Este café no debería estar en funcionamiento. Ojalá hubiéramos tomado algunas fotos.

Visited with family for breakfast this morning, friendly little cozy tearoom, was served a lovely breakfast and a huge pot of tea with enough for three cups each! Really enjoyed our visit and loved looking at all the little decorations and trinkets around the place!

Stale scone, instant coffee and out of date jam. Then we were overcharged (£9.80 instead of £7.50) We were going to overlook the poor quality of food until the overcharging. The owner/ manager was hostile and defensive when we asked for a refund of the overcharged amount. She said she didn't know how to do a refund on a card. She said she had bought the jam that very morning from Sainsbury...although the jam was strangely dark, and said February 2023 on the rim. She offered no reduction for this...or even an apology. We finally got our £2.30 back in change. The toilets were out of order. What a shame in such a lovely town.

Found this cute cosy cafe on a wet miserable day while visiting Otley. I had burger and chips with a lovely fresh salad on the side and hubby had a sandwich and soup we both enjoyed our meals. Will definately call again.

Cream tea with squirty cream, and not the most pleasant of atmospheres. Won’t be back any time soon.

Called here as our regular haunt was closed. Ordered a full English, toasted teacake and a sandwich. Food was nice though the full English was very greasy. However what lets this cafe down is the clutter (looks like a jumble sale) and the owner's attitude. She wasn't rude as such but everything was done with a grumble and a huff and puff! Bit of a strange way to behave if you are running a business and rely on repeat custom. Food is reasonably priced though so if you want cheap food then by all means go there. If you want great customer service and a chat with the owner, perhaps go elsewhere.

Called here dare I say because Wspoons was closed. HOWEVER we will not be going to Wspoons again when in Otley, but instead now look forward to a return visit to Chippendales. We can see why this appeals to the locals, good home cooked food and genuine people. Left without having the home made rice pudding which I bitterly regret. Will try next time.

This was a last minute trip into Otley and we really didn’t fancy sitting out in a pub. We landed on the tearoom when there was no one else outside (it was 2.30 though). We shared a fantastic cheese and home cooked ham panini with proper hand cut chunky chips followed by a cream tea. Not sure I could have eaten it all on my own. All totally delicious and great value. Very pleasant young guy serving and good to say hello to the cook to tell her how good the food is. We will definitely go back.

Called in Sunday afternoon for 2 cheese sandwiches with chips. Seemed to take forever to get the food, 20 mins plus! Obviously waiting outside due to covid. Couldn't buy any pop as they only had diet in stock, no full fat (allergy to sweetners). The food looked appetising enough, though the chips did look a bit wet. On eating them they were full of grease and so soggy. Picking the sandwich up from the tray to see a little critter scurry across the tray was the final straw. We had left the area, and didn't have time to go back to tell them. Honestly it was a disaster save your cash.

Discovered by chance this quant tearoom in the heart of Otley town centre. The warm, snug cafe was very welcoming on a cold Autumn day. We ordered a large all day breakfast that was perfect. The food was prepared freshly so a slight wait but so worth it. It arrived piping hot and so much more than expected. It was well worth the money and we were suitably fed. I will certainly return to partake in the beautiful range of cakes next time. Thank you for such a lovely meal.

Came here with my mum for a spot of lunch and could not have been more impressed! Friendly staff and the most amazing fresh soup and homemade chips will definitely visit again when covid-19 is over!

While the coffee and cake were ok the surroundings were awful. Not Barista coffee possibly Nescafé latte etc. This tearoom is filthy with the strong smell of old fat in the air that clung to our cloths after we left. The atmosphere was weird and not comfortable with the radio blaring out a heavy topic discussion. Overloaded sockets dirty menus. Won’t go again.

Perhaps the most awkward lunch ever. The premises were nice but in the small dining area you could hear the loud and rude owner from the kitchen. Probably not a bad thing if she weren't shouting at and threatening to fire the poor young waiter. Food was also bad and of poor quality and when we drove home we had to keep the car windows open because we smelt like chip fat. Awful.

Premises very tired, needs a deep clean and a lick of paint. Strong smell of stale frying oil in the air. Radio on quite loud in background. Tea average at best. Crumpets stale and took 20 mins to arrive, although I was the only customer. There are many other (better) tea rooms in Otley,

Came here earlier today with my family. The staff were really friendly and the breakfasts were lovely. Can’t believe I’ve never been before.. Also dog friendly :-)
