Chino Latino in Leeds

NOT ASIAN FOOD! We came for the sushi and calamari as stated on the menu and was told they haven't served that for about a year now. It's valentines day so there's no way we'd be able to find bookings for anywhere else :/ The food was good regardless but not what we came for or wanted and the waitress was absolutely lovely but they had about 4 options for a main meal maximum and half of the small menu was sandwiches or salad. Don't go here for the menu. It doesnt exist!!

xmas break staying at park plaza, chico latino restaurant is first clas both for evening meals and an absolutely amazing full engish breakfast and some breads pastries cereals fruit juice drinks the list is endless and I have to say hi to all the breakfast staff gold star first clas we weee treated like royalty thanks to Andeada as well she fantastically brilliant lady and can't wait to come back 12/10 defo come and see for yourself .

Very expensive. It's more Thai than Chinese. Everything's very spicy.

The flavour of the meal was ok . However they did not have gluten free soy sauce while serving sushi.It was overpriced and the dishes were small. There was also a 12.5 % compulsory tip which is far too much for what they offer. I do not recomend it. There are better places to go .

We arrived and were nicely welcomed. We were offered drinks and they arrived quickly. Then we ordered mains and we had to ask about certain requirements and the waiter had no clue. We were the only ones in the restaurant and they kept forgetting the order. And one hour later the food arrived and it was mediocre standard sushi and a very limited menu. The prices were extortionate and I will ember return here again. They implied like they were kicking us out by turning the lights off too !

Poor service, no-one came to the table to ask us if we wanted refills for our drinks the ENTIRE time we were there. Food took over 30mins to be served - this is a single item I'm talking about. We spent 2.5 hours in the restaurant, which was bizarre as it was meant to be a quick dinner. Very disappointed with the service & food overall.

Excellent service. Our waiter Nick was attentive and friendly. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and was helpful. He gave tips on what to order. Drinks arrived promptly. Thanks for an excellent service.

Awful experience and won’t be back, 20 minutes to come for our drink order, took them to the wrong table, had obviously been sat on the bar for an age as the ice had melted and watered the drink down, was told my order wasn’t available almost 35 minutes after I ordered so waited almost an hour to get my meal after giving me a ‘minute’ to choose something else, had to wave somebody down after 10 minutes, place didn’t seem too busy to have these kind of problems, only saving grace was they waived the 12.5% service charge they wouldn’t have received anyway

Used to be my favourite restaurant in Leeds and an absolute hidden gem, but has definetley dropped its quality. Still a really nice 4* place don't get me wrong but prices have increased at the same time as quality dropping. Need to find a way of attracting more than just the hotel guests too as atmosphere is pretty dead.

Terribly unprofessional! I didn't even get a chance to dine here. I booked a table almost 2 weeks in advance, and my booking was cancelled the week of the booking with a generic opentable email. I had to ring the restaurant myself to get the reason.

Visited Saturday with hubby, what an amazing experience. Great atmosphere and the food was out of this world. Thank you for the amazing service (especially the young lad in the blue suit)

Food was excellent. Staff very good. Definitely going back. Went back for second visit. Ended up.in a heavy discussions with the reausteraunt manager over the fact we had a prepaid package including taster menu. Got a bit heated. Watch the 12.5 percent service charge. Service was not the best. Sorry will go back to the hotel but never the reausteraunt.

Absolutely stunning there is nothing we can say, beautiful food cooked to perfection and very good portion sizes. Everything was beautiful

I don’t often write reviews but I visited this restaurant recently and I must say I had the most incredible experience. The food was absolutely STUNNING! I would highly recommend Steak on the rocks! The cocktails are also delicious especially the watermelon one. I will be back for sure! Thankyou for an amazing evening.

Really lovely food and atmosphere! Our waitress was Karolina and she was so attentive, made sure our food came out fast and when the main was a bit too spicy (not extremely but I dont deal well with spice) she handled it and had a new one in no time! Came here for a meal on Thursday night after a recommendation, and so glad we did! First of all there is a fantastic atmosphere, nice mood lighting and great views from the restaurant floor of leeds city centre. We ordered the sushi and the thai curry, I've been to many sushi places but this was hands down the best sushi ive ever had in leeds! Our waitress karolina was also extremely friendly, our orders were taken very quickly and she recommended the espresso martinis which were again amazing. Excellent food and service, if I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. Will definitely be coming back again soon!!

Absolutely excellent. The staff were just perfect and pleasent. We never felt rushed, everything was at our pace. The food was outstanding. Flavours and taste was what you would expect from a top restaurant. Service brilliant. Thank you for lovely evening.

My husband booked a table for my birthday as he knows Chino Latino is one of my favourite places to eat. We usually eat in the Nottingham restaurant and never had any issues. The exterior of the building did not look inviting and the entrance was hard to fine. Once inside we were met with an overwhelming rancid smell which made us question if we were in the right place. At the top of the stairs we were met by 2 guys and quite a lot of noise and was asked if we were here for the event!!! Definitely not as it was a speed dating event!!! We were told to go towards the bar and someone from The restaurant would seat us. We did as advised and was met by no one. After waiting a bit someone finally came over and we were seated in the very empty, cold drab restaurant, nothing like the Nottingham one. The vibe was not nice and did not feel like I was out having a special meal. Also all we could hear was the commotion from the speed dating. As this was not the experience and atmosphere we were use to in the Nottingham restaurant we decided to drink up and leave. It was my birthday treat and the place is not cheap so didn’t want to risk being anymore disappointed than we already were.

The evening was organised by a colleague for our Christmas meal and many of us had never been so didn't know what to expect. The venue was spotlessly clean, staff very attentive and food was great. A special thank you to karolina who was a great hostess. Will definitely be going back soon.

What can I say! We came here last Christmas & loved it so much we returned this year. We were looked after by the lovely Karolina (both visits) who really knows how to provide an excellent service! The food was delicious as always so hats off to the chef(s)! We are already looking forward to our 2020 Christmas meal! See you then!

Never been there I must have walked past at sometime

Great experience all round. Food was excellent especially the tempura prawns and Gyoza from the selection of starters we ordered. All the main courses were very good especially the Noodles. Malaysian Potatoes with fine green beans a great side. Look forward to our next visit.

Currently surrounded by scaffolding outside, it hardly looks welcoming. It’s upstairs too and the actual restaurant is sort of behind the bar so perhaps not immediately apparent. The bar is rather poorly supplied with draft beers, no ales or bitters for instance, only bottles. Service is typically hotel style but the food is actually quite good, well presented and served. It’s tasty but feels more hotel than restaurant food which is a shame because it’s in a great location opposite the station and, I’m sure, could do much better. It’s a convivial spot but there is better food in Leeds, very close by. Could be much better though so worth keeping an eye on.

Sushi was amazing! Very fresh & tasty with a slight kick of spice & chilli. Veggie Yellow Thai curry was very flavoursome. Rice was cooked to perfection & the tempura on the side was a welcome addition. Staff was polite, helpful & attentive.

So we booked Chino Latino after looking on the internet for a good pan Asian restaurant, it looked lively and vibrant with a great menu , I rang and booked and the lady said something about serving on the ground floor but as we are not from the area I didn’t have a clue what she was talking about , we arrived and they are situated on the first floor of a hotel but we were asked to take a seat in the ground floor hotel lobby reception bar ! We were given menus and I asked why we were not seated in the restaurant upstairs, she said ‘we don’t have many bookings today so we are just using the bar” it was dead, lifeless and had no atmosphere whatsoever, Needless to say we left.

An impressively bad experience, not to be repeated. Came here with colleagues as we were staying in the hotel. Staff were very slow to take our order, and only brought a drinks menu when it was requested. We were then told cocktails (on 2-4-1) had to be ordered at the bar as it would be too much hassle for the servers to process multiple card payments at the table. Service at the bar was slow. Eventually the staff relented and agreed to bring the cocktails to the table, which resulted in one of the cocktails being dropped on the floor. Having had a half hour wait to order, we had another hour before we got our food. One of our party pointed out the delay and we received two bottles of wine by way of an apology. When my sea bass arrived (which was good), the waiter asked "Did you not order any sides?" and I had to tell him I'd ordered rice. Several colleagues were disappointed with their noodles, but the worst was the chicken in my vegetarian colleague's noodles. When she raised this with the staff, they insisted she was mistaken and it was a very fibrous mushroom. We all agreed it was chicken. We had to ask for the bill as it wasn't offered. The whole experience fell short of our expectations in every way.

Last weakened me and my two best friends came to visit, we order the drink G&T;, and take long time also came with long glass, and I ask can ;I have it in the better glass please; they said we used the glass for blind date! Very poor and we order the food was very poor. very very disappointed , and cost so much money. very poor quality. never come back again.

Drinks are far far too expensive. I understand charging for cocktails but an 800% mark up on a neat scotch is unacceptable

I took a work colleague at 6.30pm on a Wednesday evening. We had been there a few years back he was very impressed therefore i thought we would give it a try . The surroundings was not changed since 2014. We were the only ones in the restaurant to begin with than 3 more table were occupied. The nice waitress who was from Poland was extremely helpful, attentive and quick . I wish i could say the same about the food?! We ordered 4 different sushi’s as a stater to share which were average , nothing special . My colleague had a £15 burger which he couldn’t even finish ! I ordered £18 pad thia with prawns. I could only have 3 mouthful the noodles was over cooked and had an awful smell!!!! This was the worse pad thia i have ever had !!! I had to mention this to the waitress with regret who did not charge for the pad thia but charged the £3.00 extra for the prawns which was very cheeky !!!

I Visited chino Latino a few weeks back with my mum. We both agree that this restaurant is one of the best we’ve ever ate at. The food is amazing, reasonably priced and all the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to make sure you are happy. We will definitely be returning soon!

Stayed at the Park Plaza recently and wanted a quick evening meal so went to the in house restaurant.Unfortunately I am allergic to fish and seafood which limited my choice.I had the pizza with duck and it was lovely.Felt the menu was expensive for food which was presented.Probably would not return due to menu choice.

Highly recommend Thai red curry, It was beautiful. 2-4-1 cocktails as well :)

Visited Chino Latino with friends and can't recommend this place enough! Food was absolutely delicious with a great selection and the staff were extremely attentive. Such a hidden gem - first floor on the Park Plaza hotel right near the station!

This was a very enjoyable meal. There's a wide variety of Asian style food and the service was very good. There's a good selection of gluten free food on offer.

We usually go to the London branch of Chino Latino but saw from social media that the Leeds branch were launching a Bottomless Brunch whilst we were in Leeds so was too good an opportunity not to book it!

Tenía un brunch encantador el sábado! Escuché sobre el Brunch sin fondo y decidí intentarlo. ¡No me decepcionó! Soy un gran fanático del sushi y los rollitos de sushi de salmón eran perfectos. Comí pollo para mi plato principal que era muy sabroso. La comida era ligera y fresca y muy sabrosa. Sin duda volveré y lo recomiendo altamente.

Had the perfect brunch break from shopping here on Saturday: All you can eat & drink (from a range of main courses + alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages) for either £19 per head (without drinks inc.) or £29 (drinks inc.) The food was delicious, there was plenty of it, it was served quickly, and all with a smile. The beverages flowed rather freely too! I can't think of a better way to take a break from the Saturday bustle of Leeds; to recharge before heading back to the shops; to have a bite & get in the mood before heading out for the evening, or just to unwind & reboot before heading home. It's only a Saturday offer & will take place once a month, however now I've sampled the food, I know I'll be back for more!

My girlfriends and I decided to check out the launch of the bottomless brunch and did not disappoint! With an unlimited buffet to start, sensibly sized mains and mouthwatering desserts, it’s safe to say they’ve nailed this one. On and don’t forget the flowing bubbles!

Had the bottomless brunch here today and it was amazing. Great range of delicious food from sushi to chicken satay, I had the Malaysian chicken as a main dish which was so tasty and came with a selection of really fresh veg and egg fried rice. Next time I won't be driving so I can upgrade to include alcohol 😁

This place is not well advertised but the food was rather good, in fact. We entered via the Park Plaza Hotel, and discovered a rather empty looking bar area to the right, but received a warm welcome and a corner table with excellent view of Boar Lane. The service was quick – we had the seabass, asparagus and black bean sauce (£14) and the quinoa with sautéed vegetables (£12), with jasmine rice and eggfried rice respectively. We were happy with the portion sizes and excellent flavour, as this was mid-day and a busy afternoon ahead. There was also a “Kei Mono” Chino set menu at £30 per person, and a Rengin Chino tasting menu at £42 per person, both of which exceeded our budget. Overall, this restaurant is a bit eccentric and a tad expensive but also quite a relaxing place to have lunch or dinner.

Foods not too bad, but service was very slow. Lack of staff. Only one poor lady serving and struggling to cope and the kitchen wasn't helping either!

Hotel restaurant, worn decor and just ok Asian food, don't go after 9pm as they will most likely be setting up tables for breakfast for the hotel guests!

Llegamos por un tramo de escaleras a un gran espacio vacío en el bar, nos llevaron a una mesa detrás de la zona del bar, la primera impresión fue de un lugar estilo cantina, asientos baratos y mesas astilladas, solo unas 8 personas más cenando. Pedimos comida y vino y mientras llegaba la comida, el vino no y tuvimos que perseguirlo. El bien en sí estaba bien, nada especial, la queja principal era el curry de carne que se anuncia con patatas y nueces, ninguno de los cuales era evidente.

¡Recomendaría la comida a absolutamente todo el mundo! Las cervezas de barril también son únicas y deliciosas. Tuve pato y mi amigo tenía vientre de cerdo, ambos eran increíbles. Era bastante tranquilo, pero lleno hasta la mitad al final de nuestra comida (fuimos directamente después del trabajo). El Chino Latino en Nottingham siempre está lleno, así que creo que tiene más que ver con la ubicación y el acceso, pero no me quejo porque puedo quedarme cada vez que:

Have lived in Leeds all my life and have never ventured here for one reason or another, however we went here last night on the eat Leeds week (2 courses for £10, 3 courses for £15)

The food was nothing special and there was no atmosphere in the restaurant. It was a Saturday night in the centre of Leeds and the place had only 3 tables with people. I wouldn’t come here again and I wouldn’t recommend it to others

We came here for a friends leaving meal and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed it. We decided to opt for the option of having lots of small plates to share instead of having a main each and I am so happy we did. The service was great and they brought our food out slowly so we could take our time eating it and not feel rushed which added to our experience. The calamari was my favorite by far as I have never had it cooked in that way before so would highly recommend. A special shout out to the chef (I think his name was Tom) who came out and explained the food to us, a real personal touch. I will defiantly be returning to this hidden gem which is chino Latino.

Really nice fresh nice food, beef starter and blackened cod as main were really tasty.

Great cocktails and lovely food. The black cod is delicious and fish tacos are also great. 4 stars just because the variety of sushi is quite limited when compared to Chino Latino London.

I’ve eaten in the park plaza riverbank one and that was outstanding from service to food to friendliness to caring staff. This one let the side down in all areas. Restaurant is designing a cold unwelcoming un infusions way. The food menu is very different and very expensive for the portion sizes you got. We ordered fillet steak and mine was hot, my partners was Luke warm at best. He didn’t complain though which he should have done. The waitress seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing and was seemingly new. We asked for napkins as there were none on the table, and when the mains arrived, we had to ask for forks. Not the kind of service you’d expect from a well established restaurant, and there was only 5 people in it at the time. So you’d think that have more than enough time to offer great service. Makes me wonder why this restaurant was quiet!

Stuck for ideas for a Saturday lunchtime 3 generations of my family tried Chino Latinos in the hope it wouldn't be as busy as more 'high street' destinations and we . Value for money wise you don['t get loads of food but over indulgence isn't what the place is about. It's ultimately fine dining although it isn't in anyway pretentious.

Nice food and great service, once you find your way in (only accessible via the hotel lobby now, by all accounts)

Food and service was terrible would not recommend to anyone . The manager was very un helpful didn’t want to no once we had payed .

The quality of the food was good, but the portions were too small, I would have ordered starter, main dish and dessert and I would still be hungry. I think this is not OK considering that it is quite expensive. The staff was OK but not great.

We turned up early (6.30 pm) but the main courses didn't come out until 8pm. Some of us had starters but we asked that all the food be bought out together so those only ordering a main course could eat too. This didn't happen, so those having starters felt under pressure to eat quickly.

Visited last Thursday evening after downloading a voucher from the Eat Leeds website. Great tasty food. Professional and friendly service. House white wine was a bit bland (but we did order the house wine!!) Will definitely visit again.

Staying at the hotel for work so the restaurant seemed like a good option (room service the night before was excellent) however the restaurant was very disappointing. The service and food arrival slow, the food average and then you are charged 10% service charge without prior warning - only noticed it on the bill later.

The food was tasty but I felt disappointed in that I could have made better at home and it would have been done quicker! Starters, which were literally two mouth fulls and overpriced, took ages to come out and there was at least a 20 wait after we ate then before the mains came out. Portions were small and prices were high. They also have several different menus for food and drinks depending on where you sit, so you may end up without a drink just because you sat to the left of the bar side. Beyond the food the decor was tacky and plastic, the music was faint and distant, and the service questionably timid.

I enjoyed some great Japanese food and the cocktail I had was lovely. We sat on a corner table overlooking Leeds. The service was quick and friendly and the ambiance relaxing and secluded. I would go there again.

Worst place ever. Avoid! Rude staff, especially the waitress called Shirley. They are trying to rip customers off by telling they have recently changed the prices, but didn't have a chance to update menu. This is illegal! Shirley, the waitress, raised her voice at me when I was trying to explain the situation. Moreover we had a group discount, which they didn't include on the receipt, so we spent 15/20 minutes to clarify the situation. Worst place I have ever visited. The competition is huge in Leeds, so you either treat your customers better or you will lose your business.

Probably the worst Thai meal I have eaten.... ever and I eat Thai all the time. I Eat Thai on...

5* for the steak. Other dishes were okay. Ambiance is superb.

Miserable weather and both doing separate things all weekend, so we decided to go out for dinner last night (Thursday) and having weighed up all the options and never having had a bad experience there, we opted for Chino Latino.

It's was a clean and tidy. Nice views. Did not have anything to eat but the drinks were a reasonable price for Leeds
