Absolutely abysmal. The worst Chinese I have ever been to. Without doubt deep fried rubbish. My main course was sans rice or chips even though I was asked what I would like. The two girls working there couldn’t care less. Absolutely shocking service and food. No card option so had to go to the hole in the wall albeit next door. Who sells a main course with no side? Avoid at all costs. Let them close down and get rid of the girls who can’t be bothered. Money for nothing and their salt and pepper chips for free……..

Our experience eating here was very good indeed. We arrived late and received excellent service and terrific food. Service was attentive and portions generous.

The host was friendly and polite.. the food unfortunately was not to standard.. the ribs were hard and tough.. the sweet and sour pork was small and grisly.. the egg Foo young was standard.. the noodles were ok.. overall will not be returning as also expensive almost £60 for 2 people

The place was cold and uninviting I had my coat on the whole time. The plates were cold so the food went cold very quickly. They got our food order wrong one of us had to wait for our food while the others ate. The service was unprofessional and had a "cant be bothered attitude". Saying they were very busy and yet we were the only people in. It is not value for money. I will not be going there again.

Visited at 7pm on a Friday for eat in. Restraunt was cold, food was good but service was slow, said they were busy but we were the only people upstairs. Thought it was very overpriced at £250 for 6 people including 2 drinks each. Cobra lager £8:90 a pint. Not somewhere I will go again.

Where do I start, from being charge £1.60 for a small glass or cordial with tap water, to the most miserable waitress I have EVER encountered who dropped more food than she served , to have a load of rice brought out and no food for over 5 mins, and then the ceiling started leaking straight onto the spare rib I was saving. Then the miserable waitress spilled a drink and soaked the stairs but left it and I had to hold my breath whilst my 74 year old father walked down them. Absolutely dire... needs closing down. Was like faulty towers.

Unfortunately it's the last time, paying highly for Chinese Takeaway these day's and it's not cutting the Mustard, Chinese Garden in the past was excellent, but having there food this Evening was a total an utterly awful experience, cold food, no taste whatsoever, so not for me anymore I'm afraid,

Not much of an atmosphere but the food is always great and the service always gets delivered with a smile. On our doorstep really but a pleasurable end to an evening

The food that they delivered, literally went in the toilet. Seriously, I wouldn't feed that to my dogs. Literally, not fit for them. I felt ashamed to put it down the toilet, in case it insulted the toilet.

Food was good, really quick delivery. Prawn toast has a nice thick prawn layer. I was disappointed that prawn crackers weren't included considering how much we spent.

I ordered takeaway on line tonight, was told the wait time was 45 mins in fact it took 1 1/2 hours it arrived cold and have never tasted anything like it, it cost £25 for extremely small portions, phoned them they didn’t seem bothered. So I took it back myself and got my money back, apparently they were very busy but they had next to nobody in 🤬

Ordered through just eat over an hour late. Called restaurant. Twice kept saying on way. Then waiting for driver. Time updated to 8 30 and still not here at 8.45!!

So far so lovely. Just waiting in mains. Starters superb 👌

We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant starters, mains and drinks were great, food nice and hot and very tasty. The trouble was apparent when we walked in, no one else in the restaurant, throughout the meal, no body came in, the focus was on takeaway. My point, I will not be going back again soon the price to sit in was around 50 % more than a takeaway. Whilst we don't mind paying extra to sit down and to be served, £ 86 pound for a takeaway and £144 to sit in. 4 adults, starters, mains, rice n chips and drinks. Not sure if they borrowed the menu from London. Great food, far to expensive to sit in, the place could be and should be packed out. Reduce your costs in line with your takeaway and you will pack out your restaurant I'm sure. Also, takeaway gives you offers, nothing for sitting in.

Lovely authentic Chinese dishes in Cantonese style from HK chef, plus good service! Recommended!

We booked as a family on New year's eve. It has got to be the worst experience o have ever had in a restaurant. The food was just full of salt and all overcooked. The salt n pepper chicken was hard and had clearly been in the fryer far too long . The salt n pepper king prawns were just frozen battered prawns with more batter than prawn and were awful. I had fillet steak in garlic and chilli sauce. What I was presented with was slippery stewing beef that had a jelly like coating on it and was very tough and chewy and a plate full of sliced onions. The rice was clumpy and sticky and the chips were hard and also overcooked..No doubt the victim of the same fryer as the salt n pepper chicken. With a couple of drinks the bill came to £100 . It was the worst food id ever tasted in a restaurant ever and still can't believe how they could serve such awful food at that price. I will definitely not be going back ever. Please be warned.

Phone order took best part of 2hrs, if told that initially would of been more acceptable, some of food was quite nice but I think someone fell unconscious putting the salt in the egg fried rice, worst rice I’ve tasted…suppose we all have our off days!!

New management. Excellent food and service. Will definitely be returning. Salt and pepper chips and chicken curry best we've ever had.

Worse Chinese I've ever delt with. My order came missing my sweet and sour chicken. Phoned them back and was told I never orderd. Staff was rude. Food was cold. Please don't order from here.

Buffet cooked fresh to order which is nice but a bit more on the price compared to others.

Best Chinese in Wigan, have been going for 15 years, takeaway or sit down restaurant, friendly staff and amazing food, great value for money and ideal for a Sunday afternoon drink and dinner. Wont be disappointed.

Food ok Like a fridge in restaurant Asked 3 times for heating On but no joy

The whole experience from service, presentation, and food was very poor, all courses were of poor quality, it certainly does not meet up to restaurant standard or even chip shop standard, thankfully we didn't have to pay the full price, I won't be going again or recommending to anyone.

Food is always excellent. All fresh products. Without doubt the best Chinese takeaway in Ashton/ Golborne and Bryn. Let themselves down sometimes with delivery but that has improved greatly during lockdown.

Food arrived on time, tasted good & was hot. Can of coke was missing & I rang to inform them & they came straight back round to deliver it. Good customer service. Thankyou Chinese Garden!

Probably the worst take away food I've eaten. Took nearly 3 hours to arrive, chicken was dry and tasteless as was the sauce. Avoid.

The food from this place is completely disgusting and the staff are no different very ignorant when you complain the food is under cooked environmental health comes to mind before thay poison some body

What a joke waiting for over 3 hours for food this is just a disgrace and still not arrived . The restaurant will not answer there phone so we have payed and can't cancel or order this restaurant is just a joke please do not use this restaurant

Literally the worst Chinese we have ever ordered. Whilst cost and speed was efficient and comparable. The food was awful, very small portions, rice not served with main meals etc. Not overly warm, generally pretty naff. Plus no prawn crackers with a £22 order. We are certainly not a fussy family but definitely won't order from here again.

Absolutely disgusting service will never ever return here again. Food was 45 mins late so rang up and was told they hadn't even started cooking it yet and it would be another 30 mins which then ended up being over an hour so all in all closer to 2 hours late, when it arrived there were no prawn crackers, when asked what had happened the delivery driver said she could bring me some TOMORROW, tomorrow? Why do I want prawn crackers the day after I order my meal, am I going to eat them along side my Sunday roast tomorrow? Then was told they'd send someone out on a 'special delivery' for us, and made it sound like they wanted us to be grateful, if you didn't miss off items you wouldn't have to come deliver again. Food was awful and cold and noodles had beansprouts in when specifically asked on just eat and twice on the phone for no beansprouts, and took us over 2 hours to be refunded as the manager was incredibly rude, wouldn't let us speak to explain our issue properly and kept trying to say she'll send more noodles so was obviously not listening to our full complaint. Awful, don't waste your money (also they didn't refund us all our money as they didn't refund £2 delivery cost).

Been coming here for years, no frills just nice comfortable eating area, delicious food, great service and good range of drinks, the order whst you want buffet is second to none, its by no means super quick service but nice place to spend an evening having a chat and enjoying great fresh cooked chinese food

Just ordered for the first time , food was amazing , tried other takeaways which we always find bland but this was super tasty cooked to perfection , well done Chinese garden !!

It's probably the worst meal I've had ever. An i can't believe I've had pay for it the ribs wer fat not meat chicken balls came with chopped chilli's so kids can't eat them. Egg fried rice was cold freezing. Wouldn't order again!

What a lovely owner! The owner and all her staff were fabulous. Very friendly and made you feel very welcome. The food, however, was uninspiring and deserves max 2 Stars. Sweet and sour sauce was the same for the spring rolls as a dip as for the pork as main dish (but warmed). Couldn't help the feeling that many items came from ready-made industrially produced foods in the freezer or packed.

Im addicted to this place, absolutley love the food and the people are amazing. They work hard and have to contend with sometimes, awkward tipsy customers.

Horrible place, tasteless food, rude people. Banana toffee - bits of banna in rock hard caramelised sugar, do not expect toffee, "In here it is like that..." girl replied when I complained.

The food here is very good, the service is excellent too. Disabled access is difficult at the front door specially for wheelchair users. Food is fresh and no msg after taste.

We're quite local to the Chinese Garden and probably go 4 or 5 times a year. We've never been disappointed with the standard or quality of the food or the service. Prices are reasonable too and staff have always been friendly. The buffet they do is a bit different to most in that you order food from the menu and it is prepared for you as a normal meal would be. Far better than a pile of food under hot lamps in my opinion as in most buffets...
