China Town in Thurrock

I popped in here and ordered a special set dinner, option A. The lady who served me was very friendly, polite and smiley. I was served quickly and food was handed to me promptly. Prices here are good and there are a lot of choices on the menu. Portion sizes were very good, especially for the one person set menu choice that I ordered. When ordering from a Chinese I usually order extra sweet and sour sauce, but here I did not need to as the pot was or a decent size. The food was tasty. The chow mein was not the nicest I've had from a Chinese but it was still nice. The chicken balls were of a good size and had a nice crispy batter. I feel the price was good for a solo persons meal, it lasted me for two dinners. If you are in Ockendon, I would recommend popping in and getting a bite to eat.

Was lovely food tonight. I got a chicken chow mein with prawn balls. Both items were actually to perfection, even the sweet and sour sauce. Lovely. Thank youuus

Got a takeaway from here last night , what a disappointment , cold bbq spare ribs with no meat , s/s chicken balls were off you could smell the eggs were off in the thick soggy batter. Thought it might be nice to try a different takeaway and wished I hadn’t bothered , I will not be returning!!!!!

I ordered 2 house special. When I got home, I found only 1 with 1 chicken chow mein. Food was horrible & was also ripped off. Really disappointed, never going there again

Used to be nice but now is horrible food aint fresh at all. Curry sauce wos like flem. Dont waste your time and money. One of the worst chinese iv ever had. Mrs didnt like it either. Put it straight in the bin.

This is the firs and last time I will eat from here. The noodles were dry mushy over cooked, sweet and sour sauce was like jelly, prawn baws burnt, spring roll burnt, I ordered beef shasen in black bean sauce got chicken. Beef curry looked like excrement. The only thing that was ok was prawn crackers which is all I ate so they cost me over £30 I put the lot in the bin

Fantastic as always. We use China Town as our regular Chinese. Food is always outstanding. I've never had a bad meal from here.

Amazing food outstanding customer service we definitely recommend here for value for evening easily the best Chinese I've ever had and probably have food from there at least once a week.

Went here as our normal takeaway was so busy. Wish we hadnt bothered, awful food, tasteless and sauces congealing. How people eat this crap I will never know, oh well they will take my money once but never again, yuk!

Food was ok until I went to bed. Those greasy ass chicken balls gave me the 2 Bob bits. Never again.

I’ve been a regular customer and feel the meals you are served aren’t always fresh. The rice comes out in a lump & the pork balls are sometimes on the burnt side. Staff are friendly & food is reasonable priced. I just wish when you were ordering, you knew the food you were given was fresh even if it does mean a little waiting time.

Well they have passed hands from family above, and unforunately changed the ingredients over the years. Their chips used to be cut from hand and the curry sauce used to be so nice. It seems to have changed quite a lot... Their chicken balls and other battered food are very nice. Chow mein is good and so are the noodles. In my opinion, it isn't a bad takeout but not perfect as it used to be.

really enjoy this Chinese staff are always polite and the service is pleasant there is so much choice on the menu and the food is really good

I've been eating from China Town for over 30 years and the friendly staff are always please to see you. The food is average oriental fare nothing to complain about but also not pushing the boundaries of modern cusine. If they ever decide to start home deliveries I'd come back and add a fourth star
