I ordered a meal on just eat, only for it to be cancelled and no communication received from them. I had no idea that it was cancelled. When I called the restaurant seeking clarity I was barely able to understand the call handler, and simply said that it was cancelled. When I asked if I was being refunded she just said sorry and hung up. So I am now out of pocket thanks to them. This restaurant is a scam and should be avoided

(This is a long one sorry lol) Surprisingly pretty okay for a restaurant with less than three stars. I ordered an orange chicken + fried noodles, egg fried rice and steamed chicken dumplings. I admit that the portions were very generous lol The orange chicken sauce was… interesting, way too sweet, as if I was eating a slightly jellied orange squash, not sure if it’s supposed to taste like that but alright; either way it was excessively sweet for me. The noodles were good though, only if they were not tainted by the sauce I’d finish it… the chicken? I admit it was not the best but it was nice though. The egg fried rice was definitely one of my favourite things I ordered, it was soft and buttery, exact to how I like fried rice. The steamed dumplings were meh, for me. But they were well-cooked either way so not complaining further. Lastly, delivery-wise, it arrived at the last minute of the estimated arrival but I was just happy to get my hands on something to eat at the end. Overall? I’d only get egg fried rice and maybe the same fried noodles with chicken — just different type of sauce. Also the prawn crackers were really nice!

Reading previous reviews is uncanny. You guys responded to others offering apologies for disrespectful staff. I'm another casualty of missing food followed by disrespect. Will not order again. And people wonder why there's ignorant racists in the world when these same people have something to substantiate their bigotry.

Ordered takeaway at 5.20 for delivery at 7.15 phoned at 8.00 to be told my order was cancelled. They charged my card at 8.47 for full amount as they said they had already started it.

Ordered through Uber eats. Waited an hour and a half before calling restaurant to see where our food was. They said they hadn't even started it and that the manager was going to cancel it because they didn't have enough drivers. Really poor that they hadn't contacted us to say our food wasn't coming. Contacted them again to try and get refund, was told manager would try and do it at the end of the night but to call again tomorrow if he hadn't. I then had an email from Uber eats saying the restaurant had cancelled my order but wouldnt be refunding because they had started my order. Phoned them again, the woman was really rude, said to take it up with Uber eats and hung up. Eventually got refund from Uber eats after a completely wasted evening.

Still waiting after over an hour since ordering. Phone up to be told another 30 minutes to wait and we have ordered such a small amount of food. 3 of those being sides! Craziness. Won't be bothering again.

Very up and down from this Chinese takeaway, regularly ordered from here and now found a diffrent Chinese to order from. Sometimes good food but can’t guarantee the quality, not worth the risk of an expensive order

I had ordered from here before and never received my order after, I thought I'd give it another chance. and what a waist of time. 10 mins after ordering on just eat they rang me saying they can't deliver it and I could have a refund. I then rang back multiple times to ask them to refund me on just eat, which they then said they have loads of cancelled orders and they will sort them all out at the end of the night. Which they didn't, leaving me chasing money like I did the first time. I would never order anything from them absolute joke of a place

Was made to wait for an hour before they told me they can’t deliver to my address after saying they could. Tried calling and they kept putting the phone down. Now spending my evening trying to get a refund from deliveroo. Terrible

Ordered a vegetable Singapore fried rice. Was nice and tasty,just too much chilli heat for me. Will go back again and try something different.

The food was tasteless and the ribs left a fizzy taste in your mouth, so we did not eat most of it. Very very poor. Best part was a prune crackers which were free will not go here again.

Ordered two dishes for delivery via Ubereats. An hour later the order was cancelled. I rang to ask why. I was told "We're not delivering." I suspect this was because despite charging a delivery fee, my order was only just over the minimum price required and they just couldn't be bothered to send someone 4 miles to my house. Bloody disgraceful. Never again.

Food was delivered quickly, nice and hot and very tasty. We love the Sweet and Sour Chicken (Hong Kong Style)

I have ordered food through Uber Eats and have not received it. I tried contacting a member of staff, but he kept shouting at me and kept asking what my order number was. I explained Uber Eats doesn’t provide the order number, but he just hanged up. 0/5, deeply disappointed, and I didn’t get a refund.

Ordered via uber eats. Called an hour later when the food hadn't arrived to be screamed at down the phone that it was too far away not delivering and then hung up on. Terrible service. Do not recomend.

This used to be the best Chinese in Taunton. Over the last 12-18months I've been more disappointed than satisfied with the food. The chicken balls are still a good choice, but the crispy beef is chewy, the portion sizes are smaller, the sweet n sout isn't as good. Hope they find their previous form as this used to be a real treat

Woman shouted at me on the phone when I said that the order was 2 hours late, and then said f* it I just refund you and hung up

Crispy beef was stale and soggy, chow mein noodles were stoggy, And after calling up you could here the kitchen staff yelling at the lady on the phone and no offer made to make things better. Will 100% not eat from there again

I’m not normally one to write reviews.. but the tofu dish I had tonight was amazing and so was the egg fried rice and veggie spring rolls! A great find :)

I love this place, crispy chips, always give free prawn crackers and the delivery time is always fast. Friendly delivery people, all around a good place!

Terrible customer service and awful food. I placed an order online which was accepted by the restaurant and paid for by me for collection in the restaurant. Admittedly it was a small order but i have placed the same order many times in person with no issues and felt that ordering online and collecting would make the process smoother for all parties (I didnt mind paying the additional service fees for using the online service as i assumed the convenience for all would make it worthwhile and it was a small order so extra money for the restaurant. It was accepted, my husband had ordered from nearby dominoes so we left the house to simultaneouslt pick up our items from the two places. As I was outside the restaurant on East Reach an email was received saying my order was cancelled. Had I not checked my email randomly i never would have known - I received no text or call or notification. It was pure chance I saw it. As I was outside anyway I thought maybe there was a technical issue so I went inside to try and order in person as I usually would. The gentleman behind the counter stared at me as i walked in and tried to push the door, didnt say hello or welcome just turned around and went in to the kitchen. I was left waiting alone in the shop area for several minutes. A lady finally came out and didn't really greet me or anything but I went to the counter and I ordered the same items i had ordered online. The woman gave me a startled look and appeared to roll her eyes. She then proceeded to say the restaurant didnt take card but only cash (this is not true I've ordered in person from them several times using card). I asked if this was why my already "paid for by card" order through an online delivery/collection service was cancelled. She clearly didnt know what to say and seemed to roll her eyes again before saying it did not meet the minimum order requirements and was cancelled. I advised the restaurant specifically states on the website that there is no minimum order and this was one of the reasons in fact I had been happy to order online in advance, pay additional fees when i could have walked in as usual, even though I was still collecting and had specifically left the house upon receipt of order acceptance the lady rudely shrugged as if not my problem. My husband went to collect his food from a nearby restaurant (he will no longer eat from china town due to quality issues on a previous large order). The lady was rude and ironically while holding the card machine continued to say they do not take card. Again I've used this restaurant many times. They take card, they have had no problems with previous orders however small as i often collect small items from them while my family will order from nearby places as they do not like the food in china town of late. The food has 100% gone downhill in recent months and the prices have gone up. The utter messing around today and the lying by the rude lady at the counter was just a final insult and symbolic of their level of customer service. I would not recommend this restaurant at all for any order big or small and in the past I very much would have done so (and embarassingly have!). Customers are treated as inconveniences, sub par food is being provided at inflated prices and whilst I do not think it has had a change of ownership, something has clearly caused this downhill turn in recent months.

The worst Chinese food I've ever had. The chicken in the chicken fried rice tasted rotten, as if it was off, and the other dish was bland and rubbery. All of it went in the bin, and I suspect that's the only reason I avoided food poisoning

Just ordered from here for the first time, what a waste of money, no egg in the egg fried rice, sweet and sour sauce tasted like jam, the chips are not Chinese chips they are fries that look like they have come straight from a super market, never again, worst chinese i have ever had

Not great. Service was nice and friendly but let down by the food. Thai green curry was all heat and minimal flavour sadly. The chicken inside it was super soft and beautifully cooked though and the rice was nice and fluffy. Spring rolls were pretty tasty. The peking spare ribs were a little dry and the sauce they came with quite overpowering on the flavour but they were okay. Mostly average food let down by the green curry being extremely spicy and lacking in flavour.

Have ordered from these several times. Always great food , and Just eat get the delivery to me on time . Would recommend.

The worst experience i ever had. I place an order at 19.00pm to be delivered at 20.30.But at 20.15, just 15 minutes before the delivery slot and after more of 1 hour of waiting, my order got cancelled online so I phoned in to ask the reason. They lady on the phone didn't know about and ask the chef that said that they didn't have any food left ad that was too busy, i can understand to run out on some items on the menu, or been too busy but why waiting 15 minutes before the scheduled delivery to cancel the order? i could have order from somewhere else before. Really bad customer service. Can’t comment on the food as i didn't get it but for sure I'll not order anymore from this restaurant.

Wow. The worst experience I have had trying to order food. My order got cancelled online so I phoned in to ask the reason. They said it was too far but then the lady start shouting at me in a language I couldn’t understand while I could hear a man swearing in a thick accent in the background telling me to F off. Then she hung up. I really wanted to give them a chance for I always do reviews. Really bad customer service. Can’t comment on the food.

Staff where rude and I generally think they need to get better customer service I requested to have mushrooms and prawns removed as I’m allergic and he started to have ago at me over it also my food arrived with both of them in … it’s a shame cause the food was really nice definitely will never be going there again if that’s how they talk to customers

Ordered through Deliveroo. Food was really really good, authentic Chinese taste, fair prices and good portion sizes. I love it! Only one suggestion, it'd be nice if they can deliver using Deliveroo instead of their own delivery so that we can track the order.

Ordered via Uber Eats, order was 45 minutes late so thought to ring, was asked what our postcode was, interrupted us halfway through (only getting that we were in Taunton !!) and said “sorry it’s on it’s way” and hung up. Another 45 minutes later, phone up, still no food and we’re told they never received our order (even though it says they accepted on the app) and they were pretty dismissive. Very annoyed to be hung up on and lied to the first time round and the evening spent waiting on food that never arrived. Now also have to chase a refund! Will not be using them again

Absolutely shocking service, food was nice but missing items, when called upon, they offered to deliver the missing item and they they got that wrong as well, then I called and they start blaming for not picking up the phone when I picked up and they couldn’t hear me, I tried to explain my unhappiness but they started shouting and screaming, ultimately hanging up!

We ordered from deliveroo at 18.25 rang them at 8.20 said it’s on its way still no food rang again at 9 said it’s on its way then 3 hrs gone rang them and they said can you come pick it up.Bloody joke got a refund will not use them ever again.

Always use China Town! Friendly staff, always lovely hot food. Always go above and beyond if we need anything! 7 years on still would go anywhere else!

Placed an order through just eat at 5pm. Estimated arrival was 6:05-6:25. I requested an update and it said estimated arrival was now 6:50. Then they CANCELLED our order. :( We rang the restaurant who were very rude and insisted it was us who cancelled the order and so they had brought it back to them. They told us we could re-order it and they would deliver the same order in 30 minutes or so - which isn’t great but we are so hungry we attempted to order it again, only for the restaurant to then decline our order! Unbelievable. This is our regular Chinese and we’ve placed so many orders with them so I’m shocked to have been treated like this.

I’m not that difficult to find but apparently I am! Don’t feel I should have to guide the delivery driver to my front door! Food ok but won’t order again.

I placed an order for delivery to my new build house. Usually no issues when ordering through just eat. But today I placed and order explained signal was rubbish and had mentioned I may not recieve the call. Explained where I was postcode now showing up on the sat navigation so no excuse. But now refusing to send my order out as I disnt answer the phone which I had explained. This was my go to Chinese and was highly recommended to all my family and friends. After today I will not recommended anybody come and order food from here due to the rude chef and telephone handler. Such a shame as I spend a lot of money here and I visit regular. Employ new understanding staff.

Absolutely terrible food! Probably the worst we have had in a long time, ended up in the bin! Everything was stuck together, bland and lukewarm! Not freshly cooked, think it was reheated In a microwave! Tried to rectify via deliveroo app that we ordered it through and got nowhere.

It sounded aggressive in tone but it was not in English so I don't know exactly what was discussed. Someone else picked up the phone, I explained the scenario to them. There was then more shouting and the phone was hung up. Because their food is so good and we've not had this problem before, I phoned again. 5 times. Every single call either rang through, was hung up on or did the dial tone. I left a couple minutes between each call, as I want fresh food for my partner when he gets home from work. Such a shame about the service - got a 50% refund from just eat.

After registering with just eat. My partner states that she has a nut allergy. We have ordered a meal with CHINA TOWN TAUNTON this evening and a meal has come to us with nuts in. My partner is currently very poorly at the moment and I may have to take her to A&E, this is a very serious situation and all they have offered me is the meal containing the nuts!!!!!!!! I’m disgusted with this and I will NEVER order from these EVER AGAIN

The food was paid for then was late over 20 minutes called the restaurant a very rude lady answered and shouted that it will be another half hour to an hour I said that I already been waiting over an hour I asked to speak to someone else as she was struggling to understand what I was saying and she refused I asked again and she shouted at me and then put the phone down try calling few more times again after 10 phone calls she answered again and then put the phone down at me tried calling again now to be told the restaurant is now closed !!

This takeaway tells lies, booked a meal early, told it was 1hr 20mins wait, that's ok, after 2 hours chased told it would be another 10mins, then told they had missed our order and would be at least anothe 1/2 hour. If you need reliability forget this takeaway.

on 2 January, I went to this China Town, a take away, for their advertised Thai Green Chicken Curry, item 146 on their menu, around 8 pm. I asked for it NOT to be hot spicy, without any chillies. I have had Thai curries from different restaurants in Taunton, various other cities in UK, Thailand itself & other overseas countries.This was my first visit to this establishment. What a disappointment. I tried one small spoonful & the taste was awful. It neither tasted of "curry", nor Thai. The sauce was slimy, a little like the water left over when rice is over boiled. On 3 January, I took it back, in it's original container & complained to the receptionist, who asked me if I wanted my money back. I said yes. She went into the kitchen & mentioned this.Next think, I heard raised angry female voice. Then both the senior people, the lady & a gentleman came out. The gentleman started talking to me in a raised voice in Chinese or whatever oriental language for a few seconds. I calmly tried to explain what I knew was WRONG & then arms raised, NO refund in angry voice. At this I left as I KNOW the dish in question would contravene the TRADE DESCRIPTION. I have had other takeaways from Zian place, China China & a few other Chinese takeaways and NEVER had any problems in 19 years in Taunton. Not to get a refund is not the big problem for me but the quality of food, the attitude & total lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE or civility does matter. Whilst in society we see this as a common occurrence, for me personally, this is NOT acceptable. Having worked in a Customer Service environment for many years, I know mistakes happen, that is human nature. The IMPORTANT thing is how we deal with rectifying mistakes, unless of course if you are a bully or a cowboy in trade.

3 times the wrong item in meal. once ordered crispy chilli beef with carrots. Got crispy chilli beef with onions in sweet and sour sauce. (Don’t like sweet and sour) And they don’t even have that on the menu. Over charged twice. When I told the lad serving me. He was rude and didn’t care. And when my meal came out, he didn’t hand it to me. Just put it on the side and said HERE. RUDE. Food is hit and miss.

What a load of idiots , ordered a take away told 1 hour 25 minutes. 2 hours later we don't receive this so rang them to be told another 25 minutes. Then we get a call to say they had forgotten our order and would be at least another 30 to 45 minutes so we cancelled. must be mad to order from these incompetent morons

I wished I had read the reviews on here before I ordered. Long wait, rang , they were rude to me, but confirmed food was on its way. Food arrived , wish it hadn’t. Worst Chinese I have ever had. Everything tasted like it was cooked in old fat. Fu young was tasteless, sweet and sour balls so big, and batter not cooked inside. I could go on, but we binned it. My stomach is heaving just thinking about it.Will never buy from them again

Ordered my takeaway, my heavily pregnant friend took a bite into her food and saw lots of black bugs! Absolutely disgusting. No refund given, the rude staff claiming there were no bugs even though they could see them on top of the "food", they refused to even replace the food, not that I'd want a replacement. I'd not recommend this place to anyone and it was a horrible experience. Also, I dont know what kind of bugs they were but they were difficult to get rid of, I wouldnt want anyone else to experience this! Unfortunately, we couldnt take a picture of the food due to the contents eaten coming back up, as vile as that sounds. Can't stress enough how depressing this experience has been for me and my friend and to think she is almost full term with her pregnancy!

Placed my order,food arrived 15 mins earlier than estimated which would have been great if they hadn't forgot the rice to go with our curry...phoned and they have said they will deliver rice as soon as they can.meanwhile curry is going cold.not happy at all.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE... owner said hang up on me because I was unhappy at waiting over an hour. So rude and also lie about things I had to call 4 times chasing my food.

We ordered food from here on deliveroo, the food was meant to take 40 mins and should have been here by 7.30, the food actually didn’t arrive until 8.40 and had to be chased up twice with deliveroo and finally phoned by myself.

I ordered 2 dishes that I have ordered before, the sweet and sour chicken was hard and over cooked, with next to no sauce in it. Barely edible, after having 2 mouthfuls I couldn’t eat anymore. I called the takeaway and I could hear the owner in background shouting no refund no refund, the poor man on the telephone said there is nothing he could do, only a free dish next time I order, I most certainly wouldn’t be ordering again, I asked to speak to the owner and the guy handed phone to him and the owner hung up the phone. I called back, and the owner would not talk to me. I said I will be returning tomorrow to discuss it further with him and ask for a refund. The poor youngster on the phone admitted he couldn’t help me and that the owner can’t understand what he was saying and shouting at him. Not his fault. I would not recommend using this take away!! They treat their staff like rubbish and their customers whilst proving poor and inedible food and refuse to resolve the issue. Poor company and awful food!!

When ordered our food for collection got it back home some items were missing, they offered to then deliver the missing items for a delivery charge, why on earth would we have to pay a delivery charge for a mistake they have made? Without going into graphic detail, eating the food from this take-away has made me so unbelievably ill. It tasted overly salty and was delivered no more than 10 minutes after I had placed the order (which, even then, made me a little suspicious). I would not have been surprised if the food was left over from a returned order or had been out of date when they cooked it.

The food here was low in quality and it was over cooked and very salty. The value for money just isn't there on average we paid about £5.00 per dish, In the chicken noodle dish we got we picked out the chicken and weighed it there was less than 4.5 oz in the dish all I can say is if chicken cost that much no one could afford to eat it. The veg were over cooked and covered in a very cheap and starchy chicken based sauce. The quality of all the food could have been much higher considering our bill came to almost £40.00 for two people to eat and we mostly got vegetables and rice. If a British or Canadian restaurant charged like this they wouldn't last long and if a Chinese cooked like this I don't think they would last long either cut back on the salt, Unless your hiding spoiled food then keep the salt so we don't get sick.

I ordered Chicken satay and Duck in plum sauce, both of which were so gloopy they were barely edible! I ate the meat as I was so hungry, but the sauce i had to throw away!

Had many takeaways from here using the just eat app. Always on time, hot and tastes great. The chef special fried rice is amazing and the chicken chow Mein is one of the best I’ve had. Would definitely recommend.

I have been using China town for years, we a had a take away a couple of months ago and found it very salty and not the same as on previous visits. We ordered again last night and it has got even worse. Extremely salty and dishes have changed how they were before. Batter thick and sauces not the same. I'm gutted.

We have used this Chinese takeaway for many years. Must be under new management or chef . When we picked up our food and returned home part of the order was missing. Also I ordered Chicken & Pineapple---which turned out swimming in strong sweet and sour sauce. We phoned to complain-- they were quite indifferent. Will not be going there again!!!

Hemos usado este para llevar bastante tiempo y así tener un número de nuestros amigos. Sin embargo, pedimos comida para llevar el domingo y fue horrible. La salsa en mi plato de pollo era tan vívidamente rojo que me sentí como que estaba comiendo algo de comida de fiesta niños y no sabía nada de nada en particular. Mi marido y mi hijo tenía pollo satay como el galangal favorito no está en el menú y tomaron uno ya respirar cada uno y se negó a comer. El pollo estaba de bolsita y no sabe como fue preparado y en vez de la especia esperaba aparentemente sabían como toda una bolsa de azúcar había sido vaciado en ella ya que era tan dulce. Incluso las bolas dulce y agria pollo no conocer habituales excelentes como grasienta y salsa horrible. Creo que será encontrar otro chino en el futuro! !

El servicio era rápido. Eso es lo mejor que puedo decir. Especial arroz frito y pollo y nueces de anacardo. Ambos sabían exactamente el mismo. . De nada.. El arroz estaba sobras congeladas y correosos, que salió en un bulto húmedo varias cubiertas con trozos de carne, todo cubierto en la misma sustancia glutinous. Lo mismo para el plato principal, no tiene sabor alguno. Rara vez tienen para llevar y este ofrecimiento fue una razón nunca tener uno nuevo.

¿Por qué es el sitio web aquí dirigirnos a China y China en la carretera de la estación? ? China Town no tienen su propio sitio web, pero este enlace es conducir negocios a un competidor.

Como un cliente frecuente, China Town es la mejor comida para llevar china en Taunton, superior a los otros restaurantes de lejos! La comida siempre es caliente en el momento de entrega, siempre a tiempo, si no antes, el personal es muy amable y nada es demasiado problema.

Mi marido y yo nos detuvimos en el camino de vuelta de cine. Pedimos comida y mientras estábamos esperando que nos dimos cuenta de cómo imponentes los locales fueron! Sólo nos pudimos ver al frente de la casa, sólo Dios sabe lo que era como de la parte trasera en la cocina! Nuestra comida llegaba y nos la llevamos a casa, probamos la comida, pero no era genial y terminó en la papelera. No volveremos...

Ordered a takeaway from here last weekend and it was delicious. The food arrived a lot quicker than quoted. Was hot and flavoursome. The prices are reasonable and always a friendly delivery guy delivering the food. One thing I would say is they need to get a menu online which would attract far more customers. Have been using china town for quite sometime now and compared to other Chinese takeaways in Taunton this is by far a cut above the rest.

When we ordered we asked how long it would be (we were also getting pizza from Dominos opposite and wanted to time it right), we were told 20 minutes but it took at least 30. I wouldn't have minded the 30 minute wait, but tell me when I ask!The building was grotty looking, in desperate need of a thorough clean and a lick of paint - the kitchen door was a very interesting shade of grimy brown/green!The food was underwhelming and bland. Not sure how a foo yung can be made so tasteless??Won't be back, there are plenty more options to try...

had frieds come round the other night & treated us with a take away from this place & can say the food was very nice , hot & tasty & priced just right .. worth ago try for your selves. happy new year every one.
