Don’t go here to eat , poor food , small portions and barking customers dogs and no taste to food ,chewy , over cooked and expensive for what you get never again

Our first visit as recently moved to Bourne. Totally new Chinese dining experience. Premises used to be a pub and they refurbished it using items from the pub & reclaimed furniture. You are welcomed like old friends by the owner and staff. You are very welcome to just go for drinks & sit at the small bar or sofa area or order small bites to eat. You make your food choices on the typed menus and hand them in to staff. We had a set menu for 4, plus an extra dish of salt & pepper king prawns. Mixed starters arrived - everything hot & fresh fron just being cooked. Ribs are not my favourite dish, but wow these were soft, fall off the bone delicious. Next came the duck, again freshly prepared and tasty. Mains were again equally hot and freshly prepared. Some of the best Chinese food I have tasted. The salt & pepper prawns were to die for! The lightest of batters and just mouthwatering. Good sized portions that meant we were all very satisfied. Homemade desserts are on offer. One of our party shared the chocolate brownie with ice-cream, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely selection of wines and beers carefully selected by the owner. Who is happy to share her experiences and knowledge with you. Dogs very welcome too. Owners daughters dog wanders around the tables, but she's adorable and is not intrusive and happy just to say hello and wander off again. A lovely laid back welcoming bar/restaurant with an outside dining area. This is a dining experience, so expect to spend the evening eating and relaxing. There is only 1 chef, so you may have to wait, but believe me it us worth waiting for. Will be returning very soon.

Went last night and unfortunately we won’t be going back as this time the food was just not up to par, it was just very average and some not good The worst was that we booked for 7pm got are starter and had this by 7.30pm then did not get our mains until 8.30pm and this was complaining twice and the excuse was we have a look of takeaway orders, what a joke

Very disappointed. As we no longer have a Chinese restaurant in our town we made the 26 mile trip but won’t be returning. The service was ridiculously slow, after waiting 40 + minutes for our dessert we gave up, paid for what we’d had and left. The food wasn’t great quality and was very greasy. Ordered takeaway. Managed to get us in quite quickly. Usually order at China palace but tried for a change and was disappointed. Everything lacked flavour. Chips greasy, prawn crackers stale and nothing impressed us at all. Real shame as I always hear great things.

Lovely good with great staff. All cooked to order and not the usual poor quality Chinese food. Been a number of times and it’s always good.

Food was absolutely lovely. We ordered a set meal for 4 and there was plenty. A great variety too. the only issue on the evening was a dog in the place that belonged to the owners. I understand that it is a pub that does food but for me when it follows staff to the tables, it isn't for me.

A lovely meal, promptly and pleasantly served. Everything Fresh and Piping Hot. Happy to adjust dishes to your own Preference. Definitely one to visit again when in Bourne

Ate here a few weeks ago and had a take away/delivery Saturday. Fantastic family run place for eat in or takeaway. Whilst in the restaurant they make you feel really valued and looked after, food was excellent quality and they even did some ‘specials’ that weren’t on the menu. I enquired about a take out or delivery on Sat and even though they weren’t delivering that evening, they agreed to drop our meal off to us at 17:15 as we had family over. Everything was delicious as usual and service 5 star!

Eaten here twice now. Both times had really good fresh food with good service. The lady in charge was very helpful with the menu and although the staff were young, they were very good.

This is not a traditional Chinese buffet style restaurant. It is essentially a pub that serves quality Chinese food. The decor has an up cycled, hipster vibe and a lovely, relaxed, social atmosphere. The lady’s and gents that were waiting on were welcoming, polite and attentive. The service is not fast food but served at a more relaxed pace. This I liked as it gave time for food to digest and enjoy a drink and chat between courses. Definitely higher prices than you would expect from a Chinese buffet style place. this is so much more than that though and the price reflects that. The food was quality, well cooked and plentiful, with an option to take your leftovers home! The covered decking area out the back is a wonderful use of space and you can relax with a drink after your meal. Points to note: They have a very friendly house dog, that roams freely table to table. The decking area is a designated smoking area If you are looking for a night of good food, Drink at a relaxed pace, served in a casual well thought out setting. This is for you. I highly recommend and will definitely return.

Lovely welcome, really fresh and crispy food ( when its meant to be!) cannot do enough for you. Go every week practically, had meal Christmas eve in garden on large table with heaters - plenty warm enough, lots of twinkly lights out back, Great staff, great place.

The restaurant was dimly lit adding to the atmosphere. The owner was a very happy and jolly Chinese lady who took our orders. The food was beyond our expectations with descent portions. The rice was served in bamboo covered canisters. It was lovely to see an owner who was very proud of her restaurant and she showed us the outside garden that was decked with lights giving it a very Chinese feeling. Full marks, keep up the good work and when we come again from Wales, this is the Chinese restaurant we shall be visiting - a class above the rest.

We made a last minute booking as we had a weekend away in the area and were not familiar with the area. We came across the restaurant on Google and liked the reviews. We were offered a table in the garden area as the restaurant was full, and were warned at the time of booking that there may be a bit of a wait for the food as they were busy. We needn't have worried. The "garden" area was actually an under cover decking area which was basic but very comfortable. Heaters were available should we need them. Immediately on arrival we were offered a basket of prawn crackers to tie us over until we had ordered/received our first course. We ordered a sharing platter and some shredded duck and again apologies were made for any potential waiting times. However, within 15 minutes we received our starter which was absolutely amazing. All the food on the plate was delicious and fresh. The prawn sesame toast was without doubt the best one we'd ever tasted. We didn't have to wait long for the shredded duck which was a very generous portion and delicious. My husband and myself ordered a few different main meals to share and everything was brought to the table piping hot (the rice is served in a thermos basket allowing it to stay hot throughout the course of your meal). All mains tasted fresh with amazing flavours. Staff were friendly and attentive. The owner of the restaurant made a point of checking up on all customers personally which was a lovely touch too. I would definitely highly recommend a visit to try their food and without a shadow of a doubt we will be back again in the future.

We went for my 50th birthday and had booked outside which was cosy and has been done lovely. The only downfall is it’s also smokers which when eating is not fun! But the food and the service is fantastic, everything is piping hot totally delicious…...

So good to be back at China Hand - throughout the lockdown they have provided an exemplary takeaway service but it’s great to be eating at the restaurant again! The staff are always extremely friendly and it’s evident they really take pride in their service....

China Hand is my go to Chinese restaurant in Bourne. The menu is not very large, but it is quite delicious food with very friendly staff. Will keep going back as much as I can.

Only my second visit here but I cannot fault anything. Food incredible, service faultless, the only thing that ruined our evening was the 10pm curfew (which obviously is not the restaurant’s fault). I’ll be back very soon! Thanks

Our favourite restaurant, lovely staff and great food. Bit different to your average Chinese, tapas style in a bar environment. Love being out in the garden with the twinkly lights, undercover with the heaters on if needed.
