Delivery was quick, food arrived piping hot, really delicious, highly recommend

We opted for the set meal for 3, the food was delicious and arrived piping hot. The only let down was slightly soggy chips but the flavour was still great. Our order arrived bang on the predicted time and the driver was really friendly.

Absolutely the best Chinese takeaway in Devon, I have eaten at Chinatown in London and Birmingham, no one has compared in some dishes until now that is, their Cantonese sweet and sour pork is to die for and their crispy beef is just that Crispy, love the satay sauce, I haven't found one that actually tastes of peanut for a long time, and buzzing now they deliver to Teignmouth, thanks China Garden

Food was fine and nothing crazy. Reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Only shame was the delivery time with us waiting 1 hour 45mins. Called the restaurant and they were helpful and told us a new eta however we had already waited an hour already. Food arrived extremely hot so no complaints there

Kids chuck pizza and packets of crisps out of the window at the back, becoming a hygiene concern.

Really nice meal for first time using them. Will order again the spare ribs are delicious

Absolutely Terrible service, waited 3 hours for a delivery which never arrived. Phoned multiple times and they had no idea what had happened to my driver. Cancelled my order so had no food arrive and due to waiting 3 hours was too late to order anywhere else. Ridiculous place!

We accidentally put the wrong post code in as we're on holiday, and the delivery driver still got our food to us! All the food was lovely, especially the salt and spicy chips!

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Left some of the order out and wasn't willing to compensate, had to make 2 trips to shop, so half the order went cold. ADVICE to all check bag/box before leaving shop, as they can't be trusted!!

Ordered on a Friday, and payday, so there was a slight delay to my delivery but the food was hot and tastes so good! My favourite in the area!

Food took a long time to arrive but I think Uber eats are to blame for this. Other than that one of the best Chinese I’ve had in a long time definitely the best chicken balls in the bay and the chillie lamb dish was amazing

I usually have the curry, special fried rice or the special chow main and the food is great. The staff are very friendly..

Absolutely disgusting. I was served by a genuine kid, prob 10 or 11 and in fairness he was polite enough but I twice made speciations about my order, at the start and to reiterate at the end and it still came wrong. On top of that the meat (well what little there was of it) was cold so not warmed through enough and it didn’t even look like chicken. Tried to eat it but it makes me feel ill so I’ll bin it. Just try anywhere else!

We ordered at 6pm via just eat for a 7.10pm delivery, the order turned up at 8.30pm after several phone calls. The food was average, not as good as if you’d collected it yourself plus the late delivery and still got charged £7 for delivery - no customer service, they’ve taken all our money and no understanding for the poor service.

Said my food has been delivered and it is not here

Food was absolutely DIRE. Everything tasted dry and old. Sauce was too vinegary and the crispy beef was like an old leather strap. never again

Not happy as food was never collected but you’ve still marked it as collected I rang up and said I wouldn’t be able to collect at 4:50pm because I had something important come up so I asked it to be moved on for 6pm but was still extremely busy so I would like a refund for the order that I didn’t get.

Ordered a Chinese tonight, the driver couldn't find our address. When he called the 2nd time started getting lippy with the wife. When it finally got here 25 minutes late it was stone cold & inedible. Never Again & the owners wasn't much help, well it was hot when it went out. Yes but 25 minutes late. But it was hot when we sent it out. Well Done China Garden ((( NOT )))

Just ordered a cheese omelette off the menu as I'm a vegetarian. When the food was delivered I discovered the omelette had chicken in it. We phoned up to see if they could refund or offer another one. Their response was we should have order a plain omelette instead of the cheese one as they put chicken in the cheese one. Not very helpful, out of pocket and hungry. Nowhere in the menu did it state the cheese omelette had chicken in. Will not be ordering again. I have now found out it also has pork in!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I absolutely would! Their food has given me food poisoning. I tried ringing up to make a complaint and warn them! She tried saying it’s not food poisoning and shouting at me down the phone!!

Lovely and polite. But the egg fried rice tasted of cardboard, no exaggeration. The chow mein had no seasoning and was 80% noodles and mostly just onions. Not even salt was in there. The spring roll was great but they are ready made. Sorry guys but awful food for 15 quid

Absolutely appalled by the treatment of customers and negligence of food and health safety. My mum, vegetarian of 40 years, ordered a cheese omelette obviously believing it was just cheese and egg as stated on the menu, only to discover they put chicken in it too! Then after complaining, we are given no refund, no remake and no remorse.£7.90 to go hungry and violate her dietary requirement?? Disgusting. I wouldn’t eat here if my life depended on it.

Yes, we placed an order from teignmouth and the restaurant is in Torquay but our food was originally predicted to be delivered between 6:40-7:15 and when it got to 7:30 we called the restaurant and were told it would be with us by 7:55 and they told us about problems with the drivers car breaking down, we understood and waited, when our food was finally delivered at 8:40 everything was stone cold and not enjoyable in the slightest, not happy for a £50 takeaway!

The salt and pepper chicken was really nice the right amount of spice for good flavour without being over baring This lead to to sweet and sour chicken balls thay was just a ball of batter with a tiny bit of chicken I ordered the BBQ sauce and that just tasted like bisto gravey not what I expected at all and to top it off thay where over done To sum it up exerlent food or worse than Tesco frozen section

Ordered from here off uber eats and never again will we order from here. Food was over cooked waaaaay too salty (I get Chinese is salty but this was ridiculous) none of it tasted fresh and just overall rubbish. Very expensive too

spent 47 pounds and still have 42 pounds to go in the bin, duck dry and must have been very small as the quater I had was tiny ,the curry looked vile and tasted as it looked , if i had the time and room to pick everything I ordered apart i would but i have to go home today !avoid like the plague !!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have been looking for a decent Chinese takeaway for ages. So decided to ignore the bad reviews and take a chance. Really glad we did. Food was hot and tasty. The flavours were delicious and rice fluffy. So glad we tried on a whim as this will now be our go to Chinese takeaway.

Over cooked wings and ribs, very dry. Hopefully a one off as previously really yummy

Delivered one hour early - so I apologise to the delivery driver for not being ready - but we're always happy to receive the food early!!! The stir fry with veg and cashews was good. Tofu and mushrooms was VERY VERY hard and almost too chewy to eat. And, let's be honest - that 'crispy seaweed' has never even sniffed the sea!!! - I think it was just fried kale smothered in sugar! Not good, not good AT ALL. I can't say I recommend this restaurant food, sorry.

That was the worst Chinese I've ever had in my life. I ordered a chicken curry with fried rice. The chicken was slimy with no taste and the whole curry was full of chunks/quarters of onions. My son had a chicken fried rice and his chicken was over cooked and very dry. Only good thing about it was the prawn crackers. I will never go again and would not recommend this place.

ordered special curry. curry was runny. the meat was chewy China garden special rice meat chewy and covered with juice over the rice. sorry to say but I won't be coming back for seconds. worse curry I had for many a year. not worth the money

Just picked up a take away, None of the food is freshly cooked it's all reheated, rock hard and deep fried. Don't recommend was disgusting.

Ordered on Uber so don’t know if that makes a difference to what they supply. Ordered duck and mushrooms plus sweet & sour chicken balls and chips. The duck was so overcooked it tasted like beef. Came with loads of large half cooked onions plus 3 carrots although the mushrooms were nice. Chicken balls contained dry over cooked chicken. The chips were white, half cooked and cold

Food took 2.5 hours to come, rice was stuck together and sloppy, missed 2 items off my order and refused to refund me!

At first just eat said it would arrive at 8:25pm (ordered food @ 7:25pm) just eat updated to then say delivery would be between 8:50-9:10. Food still hasn’t arrived over 2 hours from ordering food. Just eat have said it’s arrived and to enjoy my food but they can’t happen as it hasn’t arrived!

What made it worse was the restaurant was permanently on user busy (feel like they left the phone off the hook) We had to go somewhere else and paid all that money! When I rang to query order the restaurant said they hadn’t received any order even though money had left my account. Then order arrived with wrong items in it .

The delivery took an hour and a half to turn up and when it did it was wrong. Then took another 40 mins on top of that to be delivered correctly. Food was good just a bit too salty.

The second time we've ordered from this restaurant recently. The food was excellent on both occasions. Distinctive flavours from all dishes we ordered. Containers filled to the brim. The orders were delivered way before the estimated delivery time, which was actually an hour or more. Definitely a plus in my opinion. We've tried many other Chinese restaurants in Torquay over the past 8 years, The China Garden is easily the best. Consistent in quality and service. Highly recommended!

Quality of food was poor. Chicken balls was dry and overcooked and not enough sweet and sour sauce. The Thai beef curry was stodgy nothing like a Thai curry. Beef chow mein was dry and unappealing. Overall for the price, we were left unsatisfied and disappointed. We won’t be returning.
