Best Chinese in Southampton m4 great deal

Don't recommend it they missed out the rice with the curry and said you should have said you wanted rice but all the Chinese takeaway always supplies rice. And then in the menu you get free prawn crackers and that didn't happen until i phoned up too complain so won't be ordering from them again

Awful another disappointing order from a local Chinese takeaway! Food was reheated even the chips. Curry was congealed as reheated also if they cannot be bothered to cook fresh chips then that speaks volumes for the rest of the menu!!!! £25 wasted on these lazy poor quality takeaways. SOUTHAMPTON WHERE ARE THE DECENT FRESHLY COOKED CHINESE TAKEAWAYS???? HELP AS IM LITERALLY DESPERATE NOW

Unfortunately they take your money despite being closed. Be warned! I have reported my credit card transaction as fraudulent!

Best Chinese in Southampton. Food always piping hot and very tasty. Good portion sizes.

Food was really bland with everything tasting the same, prawn toast was spongy and tasteless , left a horrible taste in my mouth literally.

Really disappointed with the quality of food. Ordered before New Years and it was like always, we ordered today and the food was tasteless and very little veg comparing to what it used to be.

Have just had delivery made will never use again, Chips were hard, curry sauce and bbq sauce conjiled in 1 lump in pots, chow mein stodgy, chicken with spicy salt had very strange taste, will definitely stay well away.

Ordered a 3 dish take away this evening. Beef & Onions, Egg fried rice and Vegetable fried rice. First 2 correct and the last incorrect, chicken, veg & noodles arrived instead. Rang and they sent Vegetable Fried Rice. But it had egg in it. There’s no where on the menu that it says that there is egg in the ‘vegetable fried rice’. I rang a 2nd time. I was told that all the fried rice has egg in it even though that’s not clear when ordering. Service on the phone was very rude, unhelpful & unprofessional. She just kept shouting out to colleagues I could hear in the background and answering other calls. Needless to say, I won’t order from here again.

Been a customer for years. My in laws before that. Tasty and hot. Quick service and generous portions.

Usual Chinese was shut so we thought we try this the curry was horrible and the chips were soggy and not fully cooked

I don't know if this place has had a change of chef as I've been ordering from here for a long time, but the last 2 orders from here have been revolting, just not nice food at all.

Ordered through UberEats and waited 2h before trying to contact the restaurant. Noone picked up the phone after 5 attempts, no answer on requested updates. Had to go through UberEats customer service and even they couldn't reach them. After 2.5h of waiting the order had to be cancelled, had guests over that were starving waiting for food, runed my evening. I'm in customer service as well and I am probably the most understanding person when it comes to hospitality and restaurants, but the fact noone bothered to acknowledge me for 30min is ridiculous. Not worth the effort.

Avoid. If you order online and it says they will deliver within the given time. Its a lie. Ordered a meal and said 45-60 minutes. 2 hours later and 2 phone calls, still no food. Their excuse is they are busy and hang up the phone. Will never use again

Absolutely terrible haven't used this take away for 2yrs had a stone in my pancake roll but my usual chinese is closed so thoght try this one again just ordered salt and pepper ribs no taste what so ever and basically no meat on them spent a total of £24 won't be using this place again Absolutely appalling the other 3 dishes bland

The food had no taste to it, the chips were hard and the cost of it was far too high, I will not be going back.

Prices keep going up,standards have really dropped ,and I've been using china garden for over 25 years,picked a delivery slot and turned up 1 HR late ,time to look else where for me sorry

There are lots of vegetarian options for a really fair price! Would definitely recommend it. Very kind and fast service. The food was ready for pick up after only 15 mins!

Ordered a lemon chicken that came with chunks of pineapple in. this was not listed on the menu and i had a pineapple allergy so could not eat my food. everyone else’s food looked nice though

Have used this takeaway for last 15 years, it's gone way down hill in last few years, last 3 meals have been cold and and chips have looked like they have been took out of the bin and re served. If its sub standard food you are looking for this is the place to go, ive seen better looking food left over in the bus stop on my way home from a night out.

Orderd like two weeks ago took my payment online and then rang and couciled saying don't deliver to this area ...which was fine I just said I want a refund and they agreed would be couple days and get a refund . I've rang them many times to ask where my refund is they still haven't given my money back at all and no longer answering the calls . shameful . So be careful making any orders online with them.

If your looking for Bland chowmein and stale prawn crackers this could the Chinese for you, this used to be our go to Chinese, but one too many rubbish meals, I won’t be ordering again.

Hands down the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had in a long time. Not from the area but got this delivered to the hospital and gutted it’s not close to my home. Food was hot, amazing quality and super tasty. Damn I’m making myself hungry writing this and thinking about how tasty it was.

Don't know why so many negative reviews, maybe some fake ones out there? Ordered my usual last week and was of the same high quality as always been, hot, tasty and quick delivery. If you have used before and been put off by reviews, order again. Let's not loose a good takeaway because of some negative reviews..

Delivery was quick,got wrong curry thou.The curry tasted like it was trying to be a Indian curry.Tasted like a Indian jar curry sauce.One of the worst curries tasted from a Chinese that,s my opinion.Singapore chow mein tasted like that weird curry taste.Also had Shredded beef with chilli sauce that was ok,chips were also ok never again the quest for the best Chinese continues.

From a weekly regular customer i waited 2 hours for cold food, hard chips called to complain they didn't bother to answer.. 15 phone calls later still nothing and they were open taking orders. Wouldn't bother again.

So disappointed in China garden , won't be a returning customer. Been coming here for years but recently have had too many bad experiences. Food takes about 2 hours, and when the food turns up, it's cold, and the chips are uneatable. Tried calling them 20 times but no luck. They keep putting up the prices , and keep taking more orders then they can handle, but for them it's all about making money and not caring about there customers .

We have used this place a couple of times recently and loved it. Great food, fresh, hot, good portions, not greasy, superb. Will definitely use again.

Went here for years won't be again had special instructions that they did not follow rang up they said they would get my dish to me ASAP. . .55 minutes later . . All are food was already gone what do you expect us to do sit there with cold food and hot . . Ridiculous if you can't handle the orders . . Don't take them

Ordered yesterday for delivery and it was totally rank . Soggy spring rolls, over cooked ribs and prawn toast ,crispy chilli chicken totally soggy also .I think they had just re heated stuff left from previous day's . Won't be wasting my money using China Garden again.

I am a regular customer from my last order I have noticed that food getting worse, won ton soup lost taste and it’s not full of prawns as before, wing are extremely small size and it’s a less meat in portion I’m afraid due to cost they sacrifice quality. I will not order again very disappointed.

food is good, but service is a shambles. Waiting 2 hours for a £20 takeaway is a joke. When phoned to ask where food was were told it was on way, we live 2 miles away, another 3o minutes and still no food, called again and told it was just leaving. Why lie, been using this place for 15 years but service has just gone down hill, cant be bothered anymore and gone elsewhere. my advice is dont bother on a friday or saturday.

Can I just start by saying how good the food is from here however if your expecting your food within the time they say your not going to get it. If you want it for 7pm I'd order at 4pm. I am a qualified chef myself and know how long it takes to cook good quality food which is why I have always given them the benefit of the doubt but to take that long it ridulous. Everytime we've ordered from here it's always been late and tonight even longer. We called them to see where the order was and we were told 15mins. 30mins later still no food so tried to call back and couldn't get through. I spent a further 10 mins trying to get through and then the food arrived. I called them again to say it had arrived and that the service was not acceptable and I wanted some sort of compensation and they offered 10% discount on the next order. I was told they were short of staff which I understand is differcult however if that's the case then stop taking orders you can't handle. The call was answered by one of the chefs which is clearly why they are not getting the orders out on time if they didn't spend their time answering the phones. I said the websites stated 45-60 wait which I asked about and was told the website gets updated regularly I can tell you does not. I was told next time I could collect which would be quicker however that is not possible as we live quite far from the take away and I can't drive and my partner is disabled. The driver that delivered our order even said it happens all the time and the poor guy always gets the complaints from customers. Its not on if you can't provide a service then don't offer it.

I have never used this takeaway before. And would not recommend using it, we ordered chicken curry and chips, the chips were dry and wrinkled and plenty of scraps, if that's what you would like. We have been in the toilet most of the night. And the cost for what we got, I think was ridiculous, we didn't even get any free prawn crackers from here" at a cost of £30.70 would definitely not recommend here.

Food is good but every time we order for collection it takes 15 minutes longer than the time stated for the food to be ready, bit of a petty problem but when giving a time at least try and stick to it.

Never deliver on time. Takes more than an hour regardless which day of week/weekend. Food always good though.

Appalling is an understatement. Where do I even begin?? Firstly, there was a massive lack of understanding from the woman I spoke to. Maybe because English is not her first language as she said she was new. I had to repeat myself 4 times for the same order. Secondly, the food arrived late and cold. I didn't want to reheat because that is never advisable. I don't even want a refund. They can keep the money. Hopefully it will help improve their standards and services.

Wasted £27 of food! Looked forward to our takeaway and this was vile, crispy beef had no beef, chicken chowmein was slimy and had a fishy taste to the chicken. Spicy pork was not at all spicy. Really didn't enjoy and binned the lot. Won't be ordering again

Order came hot but very greasy. The chicken balls tasted fishy. The rice was soaked in oil wouldn't order again and it cost a bomb to not enjoy!

Our favourite takeout as a family, always cooked to perfection, the staff are friendly and courteous. We order through the website, the food is ready to pick up at the time selected.

If I could put 0 stars I would. We ordered through just eat, and 40 minutes later after trying to cancel the order and phone the restaurant, a text came through that China Garden had just cancelled the order as they could not make it. 40 minutes to be told this is just ridiculous, 10 mins would have been reasonable, but it's gone passed the expected delivery time and only just told it wouldn't be coming

After nearly an hour they cancelled my order because they couldn't fulfil it

My local, always love the food but, waited for maximum of 90 minutes for delivery (as shown on site) - no show. Telephoned and was told it was on its way. 2 hours and 15 minutes later our food arrived. (Ordered at 6.45pm). So disappointed. Food was OK. Prawn cracker portion size has shrunk by half, rice was stodgy and the vegetables were raw. Sadly not up to their previous standards.

Not a bad place to eat. Polite staff and food wasnt bad. Still hot when i got home with it. Better than golden pond 100%

Great Chinese takeaway, food on collection is ready in good time. Customer service is great. Food isn't too greasy, and the order is correct every single time.

From ordering to delivery was 2 hours The starter was frozen/microwaved The main courses were utterly bland - no flavour at all Glad I got the 10% off that order as there will not be another.

Mine and my siblings favorite take away when we fancy Chinese. We all have our favorite dishes and they never disappoint us. They always busy but delivery is relatively quick anyway. If you go to pick up yourself they always treat you well and are friendly and polite.

This has been my go to Chinese takeaway, the food is really good, however the delivery time seems to get longer and longer. When I ordered it was 45 min delivery, over 90 minutes later and it's still not here! I phoned them and was told 'it's just left' this isn't the first time I've had this issue. It clearly hadn't 'just left' as it arrived 20 minutes after my call and I'm only 10-15 mins away tops. Think I'll be investigating of the Chinese in the area

The spring & pancake rolls werent greasy as most Chinese places. A great vegetable curry which was very spicey. The chilli chicken had lovely crunchy vegetables. Just the one slight negatives the spring & pancake rolls went very hot.

Lovely chinese ordered from here twice now & both times the food was amazing! Duck chowmein swapped the bbq sauce 4 hoisin was bloody amazing!!
