China Express in Norwich

This was my first & last time ordering here. We spent over £30 & had a few mouthfuls & had to throw it all away. The pork balls - the batter was so hard it was like eating cardboard, the same goes for the texture of the crispy shredded beef. The pot of sweet & sour sauce was so runny it was like water. Also there were no free prawn crackers. I’ve never heard of a takeaway not given out free prawn crackers with orders especially when it’s a large order. Don’t waste your money!

it was lovely and the delivery driver was kind

from when I ordered, I almost waited 1 hour and 50 mins. the delivery time changed twice and was still 20 mins late. I've never had a problem before, however on this occasion they were short on drivers. I called the shop and thd lady was very apologetic. It happens, just not a good night for the shop today.

Food was good as normal, we definitely recommend them

Food was nice, delivery took longer but think that’s due to being new years. And no free prawn crackers? Probably the only Chinese I know that doesn’t give prawn crackers

The food took over 2hrs to arrive and then it came and it was cold and wasn’t of good quality.. it was edible.. that’s all I’m going to say!

Even though the courier was given maps and a pinpoint of where to go he still claimed to be in the wrong place and took half an hour to get to my door! I messaged him on the courier chat giving help on where to go and telling him he was in the right place and yet he was incredibly slow and refused to try, even telling me not to call him for further help. He shouldn’t have this job if he can’t follow the simple maps and instructions!! Worst service I’ve had in a long time and I am not happy!!

Food was cold wasn't happy. restaurant told us to contact just eat to sort out. passing the buck I think.

No complaints here. Delivered on time and it was all hot. Nice big pieces of veg in the mixed veg fried rice and a sticky, spicy sauce with the beef. 👍

Worst meal ever. Special chow mein Pork full of fat. Sweet and sour chicken hks was tough inside and disgusting. Waste of our hard earned money. Feeling very let down China Express!!

The King Prawn Fried Rice is good, but the Chicken & Sweetcorn soup... it is the worse that I ever had. Why is it so sweet, like sugar was added to it? 🫤

Just eat is a terrible service. I have lost more than £50 with two orders never delivered. There is no contact number or email to report this. This order wasn’t delivered it’s happening for the second time

Firstly my door got stuck and it wouldn’t open I apologised to the driver who was rude to me. Food was luke warm and unbelievably bland. Both beef curry and special curry were bland no flavour at all in the meats, fried rice tasted like boiled, chow mein was okay but trying to pass off a small as a regular is a con. The salt and pepper ribs were lovely and the only thing to taste good. First and last time ordering the quality and price don’t match up. Ever used salt?

Not just late. We had to go and collect it ourselves after calling the restaurant. We called the restaurant and they say it's not their problem, the food has been ready for a while but Just Eat haven't sent a driver and they don't have contact information for Just Eat to ask when a driver will turn up. The restaurant claimed Just Eat promised them drivers but don't deliver and that's not their problem, I need to speak to Just Eat directly to understand why my food is ready but I can't have it. That is quite ludicrous, I ordered food in good faith with two children waiting to be fed and now I'm being told my food was actually there ready (getting colder and more stale by the moment) but the lack of driver means I can't have it and the restaurant recommended I cancel my order and try somewhere else. With two kids already an hour past their dinner time, that's not feasible. In the end my partner drove across the city to pick it up as there was no other option to get the kids fed. The food was dry, cold and disgusting. What a total stressful rip off. Avoid this restaurant.

Rice was stodgy, the whole curry was overpowered by a mint taste, some chips were not cooked and not ‘salt and pepper’ flavoured. Disappointing wont order from here again..

Delivery was on time and most of the food is yummy, but its Luke warm so not impressed :/

the food was oily. chips where soggy and not edible .curry sauce was nice and rice . was hour late as well . I never had no problems but won't be ordering again from here

Everything was overcooked, rice and noodles were dark brown colour, hardly any duck in the chowmein and the duck was way overcooked and dry. Salt and chilli chicken, dumplings and the chips were nice, but everything else tasted and looked the same.

Chicken balls were extremely soggy and greasy . Ribs slightly tough . The rest was nice . The order was late by 15mins , the driver couldn’t find the address and was very rude when she chucked our food at us and said there ya go and walked off then sat in our drive shining her car lights through our window for the next five mins

Five stars food was hot and excellent pancake rolls were lush mixed hors Doeuvre’s were fantastic and house special chow mein was lovely will definitely order from them again

So disappointed with our food! Spent so much here for our food to be uncooked and vile! Never again. Only half decent thing was the rice. If I was the owner I'd be ashamed to sell this food. Takeaways aren't cheap... so come on China express, sort it out for innocent customers who spend their hard earned money on your food only to be absolutely gutted.

The food was definitely not fresh and tasted like it had been reheated far too many times. The crispy beef was a slimy congealed mess and the salt and pepper chips went straight in the bin. The rice and chow mein was saved by the microwave. Don’t waste your money

food was rank, tasted like it was cooked at lunchtime and microwaved, how can fresh chicken balls be soggy within 20 minutes? the sauces I bought were watery and tasteless. The special fried rice was the same, reheated but not soggy, just greasy. I won't be ordering again.

My Singapore rice was lovely but the vegetable curry was tasteless my friend said.

Good food at a decent price and delivered hot!

Start it was 25 minutes late. A lot of the food what was ordered was cold. The meat in everything is so dry. Sweet & sour sauce had no taste at all. Definitely worst Chinese I’ve had won’t be coming back here again that’s for sure!

I ordered roast duck in black bean sauce its probably the worst I've ever had

After reading some of the previous reviews I was a little bit wary about ordering from here, but I was hungry and it was nearby I didn't order a tremendous amount, but what I did order was really nice, cooked to perfection and the service was really good too I wouldn't hesitate to recommend China Express, and I look forward to trying some of their other dishes next time I'm in the area

Delivery was fast but the food is very poor quality and tastes bland only ordered to have a break from cooking will make my sweet and sour chicken hong kong style from home next time as mine is far more flavourful than from here.

I ordered chips, chicken curry and boiled rice. The chips and rice were fine but the chicken in the curry was undercooked and still cold and a little pink in the middle, had to spit it out, won’t order from china express again

Love this restaurant and only order from here now. They do the best beef in black bean sauce. In fact, every dish we have ordered from them has been delicious!

The pancake roll was super greasy and cold to the touch, the satay skewers were cold to the point the sauce had Co gealed and the rice had to be zapped in the microwave. Will not order from this place again.

The soup was OK but prawn toast overcooked and dry and the chicken wings were very overcooked (pre-cooked and re-fried) and the dried chillis inedible. Bad value for money.

Food was hot, not too greasy and good quantity. I would order again.
