Ordered a sizeable order online this evening for collection @ 7:30 pm. When arrived I was informed by the member of staff that they hadn’t even started cooking it. They took my payment and we had o wait another 20 mins for our order. When the lady from the kitchen came out I tried to complain about the service, however she clearly wasn’t interested. On arriving home I discovered that my chips were missing. I did phone and had another apology and the lady who served me first said she would pass it on……… i really don’t have an issue with first member of staff, but as I said I really don’t think they care. I finished off by saying I wouldn’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend China City to anyone else I know. M Hammond

The food was greasy and lacked taste, they forgot our rice and when we rang all they had to say was “sorry” no offer of delivering or collecting it. Understand it was New Year’s Day and it was very busy but this is my honest review.

Wasn't the Chinese we were going to , infact didn't know this existed.(visitors from out of town) But the food was lovely , hot qnd looked good .leaving plenty for the next day too. Very friendly if at times stressed staff. Had an influx of customers but they dealt with it politely and quickly. We're on the ball to make sure an order was fish free due to allergies and when it wasn't chef recooked a new order without fuss . Two Chinese in Stonehouse we would revisit now .

Placed order, order arrived with 2 items missing. After calling back the girl became rude and unhelpful. After 30 mins still no sign of missing items so cancelled order and the girl was flat out rude with very disrespectful tone. Last time I ever use this place, seems like since they changed management things have gone downhill. I'll steer everyone I know away from your business. Good luck.

First time using since we moved to stonehouse and we are very very impressed! Big portions and really yummy!

Really good, tasty food. Vegetables in our chow menu were perfectly cooked, the batter was crispy on the chicken balls and the satay sauce had a nice amount of heat (not too much!). Choice of payment via cash or card. Thank you.

I pre ordered at 4:55 ( opens at 5pm )for delivery at 5:30, food arrived at 5:25 a friendly delivery driver, the food was hot and the satay skewers are amazing. Loved all of our food. I don’t normally leave reviews but will definitely be ordering again.

Kim is very nice and an interesting person to talk to. The spring roles are my definite favourite. Prices are good too. Unlike many other places one can pay cash and by card (from £5 upwards)

Had my first meal from here last night. Delivered to my front door in about 20min which was super quick as were quoting upto 50min. Food was lovely. Definitely recommend and will definitely order from here again. Saves driving all the way to whitminster to an average takeaway.

Chicken chow mien dry as a bone so chicken was like leather; chicken satay way too spicy and sweet, so no taste of chicken at all; pork chop suey, pork pieces totally inedible as 70% gristle, YUK!

Had a take away last night, I had curry - apparently, which was more like boiled veg with a tenuous allusion to a pinch of curry powder. I martyred myself to get half of it down because I'm a trooper. My partner managed to eat most of his food, and is still sh*tting through the eye of a needle. Would I recommend it...? 🤔

We ordered food, the wrong order arrived. We though fine it’s a busy time. We rang and tried to explain. The women on the end of the phone was not just argumentative but totally rude. Not offering any options, just pure arrogance that she was right and the customer was wrong. No wonder Ben’s does so well the rest of the week. Maybe management will read this and learn or perhaps the arrogant women is part of it. What a shame.

Horrendous customer service, waiting over an hour and half for delivery then asked if we could collect and offered another half an hour wait. Staff and manager rude on the phone, will not be ordering again

Ordered online to arrive at 8pm on Saturday night. Had a call at 6:30 to say they were nearly with us. I asked for it be be delivered at 8pm as requested. Got to 8:15 and no food had arrived so rang to check on it, the owner said they were too busy and wouldn't deliver. They had already charged my account for the money (which has since been refunded). Very disappointing service and won't use again.

Excellent service and great food. Ordering for home delivery is really easy and the food comes exactly when they say it will.

My family had not been together for some time due to the virus so this was an event we were all looking forward to, my daughter went in on the day & ordered for us which took forever to organise, having got the food home my duck was on a bed of pineapple (which I do not like) was supposed to be mixed vegetables & plum sauce the sauce I tipped on the duck was foul just tasted of salt & not much else. I went into the takeaway the following day to complain kept waiting over twenty minutes with girl on the phone taking a customer order could not get the card to go through, so all the data provided by the customer on numerous occasions no protection of customer data at all as I could hear everything, told manager not there asked for a phone call. Manager called me at home later no customer service given could not have cared less wanted me to go back for more food as none of us enjoyed our meal that was not going to happen.

Excellent service you can order and pay on line, have your food delivered or collect yourself. Good fresh ingredients, good quality and always hot, nothing missing from order. highly recomend.

Been using this Chinese takeaway for a while and its been ok but, order came today, wrong food in bag, so called and the driver came back, NO PPE BEENING WORN, as it was "in the car and too busy to put it on" HELLO !!! How can you possibly be to busy to put it on??? Decided after another phone call to keep the food and it wasn't nice, soggy, cold chips and weird looking sweet and sour sauce. Food thrown away, Wont be going back.

Delicious takeaway, affordable price. Egg fried rice a little bit dry but delicious lemon chicken and sauces. Sweet and sour balls perfect amount of batter and chicken

Apparently under new management, food is very good, easily on par with the other good Chinese takeaways in Stroud and surrounding area. Decently priced too!
