China Chef Birtley in Gateshead

We ordered a meal to be delivered. The driver arrived as I was taking boxes for disposal out to the car. The driver insisted that I should take the delivery, even though he could see my hands were full. I told him someone would be out in a second, but he started ranting about other peoples food would be cold etc. If he had just gone to the front door instead of remonstrating on the decking, the food would have been delivered to my waiting daughter.

Food was nice had munchy box everything was cooked to perfection nice and hot too would highly recommend this place for Chinese

The Singapore Chow Meins were tasty enough, after they had been heated up by chef mike. The portion size of the chips was small, for the price paid. However, the two hour plus time from ordering to delivery, is totally unacceptable. It doesn't encourage repeat orders. It was over an hour late from the original time quoted; which was more than long enough to wait. Considering that it takes five minutes to cook the food and we live a five minutes drive away; it doesn't matter how busy they were, it is no excuse for such poor service. I drove the 83.6 miles from Scarborough to Washington, in less time than this order took to arrive. Indeed, you would have thought it was coming from China.
