Excellent seaside Indian restaurant. Extensive menu and the food is wonderful. The staff are friendly and efficient I haven't seen tasted better Indian food anywhere.

Food was delicious- Thai curry and chicken korma. Gofi was very attentive the whole time we were there. He even came down stairs to hold the doors for us when leaving ! Will definitely return when back in Carnoustie,

I write this from the lens of someone who has eaten with Chillies since it opened the first time and now aware it has changed hands. That’s the first mistake, interestingly the establishment the Chillies staff came from is now flourishing and Chillies sadly is not. Having attended for a Xmas day meal, there was no ambience, table wasn’t even set and the staff (friendly) seemed vastly underprepared for the roles they needed to undertake for a festive sitting. The food came, albeit slowly and whilst my meal was ok, others were dreadful- the Korma was bland, tasteless and had a consistency of custard - dreadful. Garlic Mushrooms were the worst too. Ironically I had stopped visiting the establishment the chef previously worked at for this reason but wasn’t aware he now works a chillies. As someone who visited and ordered takeaways regularly from Chillies, sadly I will not be back. On raising this with the manager, whilst listening, he didn’t even offer any form of refund- instead saying we should have raised it at the time - we would have but my parents were mortified and saddened that we should even have to raise this - surely there should be some self awareness given the footfall appears to have reduced since taking over.

Lovely food. Great setting. Clean and nicely decorated. Only thing I think to improve it would be the serving staff to have some training on basic waiting skills. Best korma I’ve had!

I love this place. The staff are so good. Attentive and eager to please. Nothing is too much trouble for them. . The food is amazing. The portions are large and tasty. Beautiful setting as well. Do not delay. It is lovely. 5 star.

Stopped off for a meal after shopping in town. The food was all excellent and cooked just how we asked. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming; the waiter service was absolutely brilliant. Just needs a few more customers to boost the atmosphere (What else do peopl ehave to do on a damp Thursday night?). Greatly improved since it changed hands; hope it does well. Will definitely be back.

What a great meal. Food and service both first class. Always a good sign when you look around the table and see friends and family enjoying each other’s company with good food and conversation. New management team could not be more helpful. Can’t wait to go back again. 5*

Great meal and service, highly recommend. Tea time special great value for money and includes tandoori kebabs. Egyptian kebab is something a bit different.

Got a lamb bhuna and chicken korma not the best curry ever give it a 4/10

Staff are awesome, order was taken, and food served very efficiently. We had chicken tikka, lamb bhuna and chicken korai with garlic naan breads. I tasted the latter 2 and would have been happy to eat a plate, but for me, the star of any Indian restaurant is the chicken tikka and something i rate with brutal honesty to all restaurants i visit... This one was a delicious sweet coconut flavour with the perfect quantity and quality overall. I rate 9.7/10. New ownership at Chillies and they have taken over flawlessy. I thoroughly recommend visiting.

Chillies changed hans early October but obviously did not leave the recipe book, the flavours that made chillies a very good restaurant have seriously changed and unfortunately for the worse. Unfortunately it’s not a restaurant I will use again

Tried chillies for the first time tonight and will definitely be back. Staff were all lovely and welcoming, every course was served fast and all tasted amazing. Portion sizes were great, we all left very full. Well worth the money and definitely worth a visit!

Tried chillies for the first time after smelling it from the beach so many times. Staff were brilliant and very attentive. Ordered 3 courses and they all came out fast and full of flavour. Would recommend chicken tikka Pathia with Peshwari Naan. Will definitely be back.

Dined in here with a party of 6 on a Friday evening. The staff were very welcoming, the food was amazing and the early evening menu was really fairly priced for the amount you get. The toilets were clean and easy parking. Would definitely recommend!

This is an amazing restaurant with incredible food and one we keep coming back to again and again. We all had the special set menu, tasty starters of huge vegetable pakoras and my main of Egyptian kebab was excellent. Even the ice cream is good. All the staff are welcoming and helpful. I defy anyone to find such good food for £15.99 per person. Can’t wait till our next visit.

Hadn't booked a table but was warmly greeted and shown to a table by the bar. I asked if we could move up the back more and was told sure, no problem . The waiter was incredibly polite, welcoming and attentive. The waitress (lynsey) was friendly and warm. They both made service look professional and efficient. Drinks were lovely but the food was outstanding. We had mixed platter starter to share then a lamb biryani, chilli chicken and a peshwaei naan. Everything was fresh, very tasty and the portions generous. We were incredibly impressed. Definitely a favourite now.

Normally have a good experience with chillies but the chicken in the curry was over cooked and hard. The curry wasn’t as tasty as it normally is, quite dissapointed

Ordered the meal deal for one which was great. Comes with a curry, choice of rice, naan bread, poppadoms and pakoras (or bhajis). I went with the chicken madras which was fantastic and had a nice kick to it. Vegetable pakoras were massive and came with a beautiful chilli sauce. Poppadoms were also good and came with a nice chutney. As with all takeaway curry’s, it’s far too much food for one and can easily feed two, or have some food left over for the next day. I ordered it by delivery and that was also very fast, somewhere between 30 and 40 minutes.

Ordered a delivery of 2 x Set Menu A. Didn't know about this hidden gem, but will be ordering again and will be in to try out the restaurant itself. Wow! This was genuinely perhaps the loveliest Indian food I have ever eaten. I cannot recommend enough. The delivery arrived in very quick time. A fraction of what the Just Eat app suggested. The food was AMAZING! Every single item was cooked exceptionally. The fresh, clean flavours were beautiful and the herbs and spices were used to perfection. All high quality ingredients. Perfect papadoms The vegetable pakoras (5 large) were the best! Served with salad, tasty sauce and delicate onion salad. The chicken bhuna was declared the best my friend had eaten and my chicken madras was incredible. Both pilau and boiled rice was cooked to total perfection; light and fluffy. The naan were enormous and the best I've had in a long time. The quantities and value for money for food of this quality was off the scale. I don't know how they're doing it. Half of it will be eaten tomorrow and I can't wait! I will recommend to everyone I can. This little gem deserves to be inundated with customers. Thank you so much. You clearly have a passion for great food!

Absolutely terrible experience. Not the first time they've gotten our order wrong but mistakes happen, normally correct it. Ordered a meal deal and added Raita, which they forgot to put in so I called them to explain that it was missing and the response was that the delivery driver is out and it might be a wait to receive it, I just told them I would collect after my meal otherwise the food will go cold... Well too late, I put the food on the plate which is normally steaming hot.. Sat down doen to eat it and it was freezing cold!! The chicken was cold in the middle and to top this the korma was not creamy it's was watery and had separated.. When we called to say that we were returning it, the female member of staff working the restaurant told us that was fine bring it back, when we got there and spoke to her, she said we wouldn't get our refund there and then and that we had to contact food hub, she explained that if we use the website to order it goes through food hub and that's the o only way to get money back. We had told the lady on the phone that we had scraped the bad food back into the tubs and would bring it all back. She accepted the bag of cold food and the reason for return, I asked how do I prove that I returned it, she said I'll give you the printed receipt to prove you came back. It gets worse.... We got into our vehicle and started leaving when a man who had been standing outside smoking watching us go in, went back inside his kitchen and then came after us with 4 of the tubs in his hands, we got out to speak to him and he was shouting at us about why we had put it back in the boxes like that and how did we know it was cold, we said it was on our plates and we put it back into the tubs, also the reason we knew that it was cold as when we put the chicken in our mouths it was cold in the middle, all the food was cold, hense why we returned it and the manager lady accepted that. I went back into the restaurant to tell the lady who was dealing with this how disgraceful it was that this man from the kitchen had the ordacity to even come out to us after all that had happened with our dinner and even dare to shout at us. I can handle mistakes happening, however food that is cold is not great and worse when a man from your kitchen comes out to shout at us, then that's unprofessional and they should be embarrassed by their actions. Will certainly not be back and should be ashamed by their poor customer service.

Never ever going back here. Food was disgusting. Total waste of £44. Sauce watery. When has chicken tikka ever had batter on the chicken with watery sauce. Chicken pakora had no batter. Get another chef. No wonder place was empty

We visited Chillies as an unexpected treat on the way up the road. We got a table with a fantastic view over the sea. The staff were really friendly and attentive and there was an extensive menu to choose from. When the food came it was so tasty and there was plenty of it. Really glad we stopped in past this restaurant and we’d definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

This place is overpriced and overspiced. Can't say how many times I've asked for something to be made mild and have my request completely ignored. I gave up eating here a while ago but my partner likes their madras so he still orders from here. So yesterday was my birthday and we decided to push the boat out. I wanted something from somewhere else bur my partner wanted chillies madras. We ordered through their website to collect between 2.30-2.45, and picked my food up beforehand. Got to chillies at about 2.40...(absolute carry on as half the roads in Carnoustie seem to be shut at the moment). Staff then told me there was no order and they had just arrived on the premises. After a couple of minutes they found the order and admitted it did have 2.30 on it but it hadn't been done as they were just opening. I was then told to come back in half an hour. By the time we got through the traffic in Kinloch Street it wasn't really worth going home to just leave again. So when I returned half an hour later it still wasn't ready. I explained to one of the staff that I'd picked up food from somewhere else and it was now stone cold still in my car and that my birthday dinner was now ruined. This seemed to be a big joke to him and he just laughed for a bit and said don't worry about it. At that point I had enough and just walked out and left...with no food (thankfully we hadn't paid yet). They then had the cheek to call at 3.30 to say the food was ready! I told them it was a shame it was an hour late and I'd now like to cancel and just hung up the phone. They ruined the whole afternoon and not once did they apologise...just said it wasn't their fault. After reading other reviews I've pretty much sussed out what's happening here. If you are dining in and look like you have a bit of money they will go all out to make your dining experience a good one. If you get takeaway you can't tip the staff (apart from the driver) so they couldn't care less. Will never ever go back near here again. The customer service is the worst ever. Thank you very much for ruining the afternoon chillies...Will love to see your reply to this....pretty sure you aren't going to reimburse me for my ruined 5 guys burger...doubt I'll even get an apology. Seriously avoid at all costs!!!!

We visited on a Wednesday evening and we're net with a warm welcome. We ordered both Indian and Thai dishes, all of the dishes were beautifully presented and delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back

spiced onions were wattery looked like they had been sitting for ages as the sauce had split. poppadoms were soft and soggy no crunch to them was like they hadn't been made fresh. the curries were fine but quite thick not upto the usual great standard from chllies

A lovely lunch, with fresh onion bhajis and biryani to die for! Nasim and Polash are perfect hosts, both super kind and attentive. Chillies overlooks Carnoustie seafront, so it's really worth going during the day as the view is stunning. Great food and service in a top location. What's not to love?

Lovely restaurant with large windows and we loved the fairy lights. We were out walking earlier in the day and stopped to check out the menu. When we arrived later for a meal, staff remembered us looking at the menu and thanked us for returning. Staff were all friendly. We enjoyed all our food and had a nice bottle of wine. Nice music too. No complaints from us x left with full tummies 😋

Food was fine, absolutely nothing special. We had a discount code to use, they gave a deal to the beavers award night, but staff apparently had no idea about it when it came to settling the bill so ended up paying way more than we expected. Nobody prepared to help so paid and left. Was really expensive for what it was, charged double for a single child’s meal, thought they were being kind as our son couldn’t make his mind up, waiter said he could have both, didn’t expect to be charged double for 2 child’s meals he never even finished. Really disappointing visit sadly.

One of the best indians I have ever had .

My recent experience with Chillies Carnoustie was far from satisfactory. I eagerly awaited my takeaway, only to be met with disappointment upon its arrival. The food, regrettably, was barely warm, which immediately set a disappointing tone. Moreover, the promised explosion of flavors that typically characterize Indian cuisine was conspicuously absent. Both curries I ordered were nothing short of awful. The lack of depth in taste and the absence of the anticipated aromatic spices left much to be desired. It's disheartening when a restaurant renowned for its cuisine fails to deliver on its promise of quality. Given my high expectations, this experience was an unfortunate letdown. I genuinely hoped for a delightful culinary journey, but instead, it was a lackluster affair that missed the mark entirely.

Starting on a positive note, the restaurant is attractive and well laid out, with windows all round giving pleasant views out to sea (winter daylight hours permitting). The welcome was genuinely warm and the service was good. However … the actual good is nothing short of dreadful. I’ve had nicer meals in a supermarket microwave pack. Nothing good to say at all - old, tired popadoms; horrible, soggy- centred, cannonball-sized pakora; main dishes that looked like huge portions of dog-food dumped on a plate. A fair attempt to cheer the plate up was made by the addition of a sculpted pepper, but more attention to actual main dish would have raised the standard no end. Sadly, this meal was truly awful. If you are VERY hungry and don’t care what you eat, by all means try Chillies. Very sorry for waiting staff - they are lovely, but they must know what they are serving!

One of the best Indian meals I have had in ages, the Tikka sauce was brilliant and the Jalfrezi was also epic. Both were lamb and the meat was lovely and tender. If I'm back in Carnoustie again I will go back to try more. Delivery was super quick too.

Popular with families but since there is a lot of glass windows it was a little loud. Plentiful parking. Large serving of wine. Average price.

This was a great venue to meet up with friends. Excellent service throughout but especially in dealing with my husband’s allergy to garlic. This prevents us going to many Indian restaurants but he had a great meal & we would highly recommend.

In Carnoustie on a business trip. This will be our second visit to chillies in the last two weeks. If you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine then look no further. I’ve been a food critic for a few years now and this is hands down one of the best tasting curries I’ve ever had. (North Indian garlic chilli chicken) This is a must try for everyone. Great variety of food and drinks on the menu and a beautiful ocean view. 10/10 would highly recommend 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶

Great food no super spit good price open late

Appetizer:Garlic Prawn Entree: Railway lamb We arrived late at approximately 8:45. No other restaurants were still serving food. We wished we had come here first. A group of seven, we were treated extremely well. Our server was patient with everyone. Even those who knew nothing about Indian food. Some wanted no spice, some a little and some a lot. My dishes had medium spice but don’t be fooled. The flavors were very robust. Off the charts good for almost any pallet. Everyone in my party raved about how good the food was. No exceptions. If you can please seven guys on a golf trip from the Midwest USA, you can please anyone. Thanks for a great meal and end to a really fun day.

The staff were all lovely and very attentive to us from the second we came in the door. The food was lovely and flavorsome. On leaving the restaurant, the lady wished us luck for the birth of our baby in August. It was just a lovely relaxed experience. No long waiting times but the food was fresh and piping hot. Surprisingly the restaurant was very quiet but we had a fabulous experience. We had a window seat with great views, had a lovely welcome by the staff and were looked after throughout our meal . I loved the fact we were not rushed and were able to take our time between courses. Will definitely return and highly recommend this Indian restaurant
