Chilli Massalla Indian Restarant &takeaway in Stockport

Didn’t know the area so asked the taxi driver to recommend a restaurant and This was his choice. It turned out to be a great choice. Doesn’t look much from the outside but it’s a bit like the Tardis - it was discernibly bigger inside. On entry you are informed they do not sell alcohol. Across the road is Gary’s store which does sell alcohol and is open late - and at prices well lower than a Restaurant would charge. Inside the ambience is ok. Their selling point however is the staff. They are really friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The best was Abdul.. They have a 5 course deal for £20.95 - poppadoms, starters (lovely prawn purée), mains (great madras), sides (naan chapter pilau) and dessert/ coffee. The quality was particularly good and hot. Only criticism was the coffee - not good. To conclude, if you’re in Edgeley this is the place to eat

This isn't a high end Indian restaurant, I'm not sure it would win any awards, but the taste of their food and their VERY professional and friendly service means I have to give it 5 Stars. The quality & taste of food is excellent. Protein portions are a little on the small side, but honestly, there is more than enough and it's the right amount of food for the price paid. Service, honestly, is EXCEPTIONAL. From the moment you walk through the door, until you put your coat on, it's like being served by your family and best friends. What a great team !

Awesome spot! Amazing staff. very friendly, accomodating and what a vibing place to be for a good night/dinner out! The owner very hospitable and takes good care of you, the food was delicious and many options to choose from! Would 1,000,000% recommend! If you are in stockport area this is the place to be! Freshly cooked ingredients and a banquet of food for the price! Definitely will be coming again! Worth the trip to stockport if you are not a local and if you are, you NEED to try this place!

We visited here tonight as a family of 8 to celebrate our granddaughter's 13th birthday. We had booked thankfully as it was full to the brim with customers. The waiters were funny, attentive, efficient, polite and professional. The food was reasonably priced, everything was fresh and delicious. We received Baileys shots and chocolates after the meal. Our granddaughter received a box of Matchmaker chocolates and a bottle of Schloer which we thought was a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great place for a celebration. Take your own alcohol, they provide the glasses. The only criticism I have is that the music was a bit too loud at times making it difficult to have a conversation.

Celebrated a family birthday here on a Thursday night. It was busy with a good vibe. Food very good, staff on the ball nothing to much trouble. Makes for a reasonable priced nite out for a big group as take own drinks. Would deffo return and recommend.

Still the best, 5*. Made our weekend trip to Stockport especially to visit here for a meal out. Been a couple of times in the past and loved it each time. Fantastic staff, they can't do enough for you, fantastic butter chicken with just a little more spice, and poppadoms , chapati , tikka masala , everything spot on. We live in Vancouver and this is our go to dine spot in the UK...never disappointed....Top food..ambience...and the best service ever..no wonder they are full all the time..take your own alcohol makes for a reasonable bill.....other restaurants should learn from this place on how to serve customers because they are the best....

Food was great and we walked in on a Saturday without a booking when they were extremely busy. They made sure we were able to dine and went to great lengths to ensure we were happy. We were given 45 mins but that was enough.

I phoned to order a vegan takeaway and the gentleman who answered went to great lengths to explain what was suitable. The selection, especially the dhal, was fantastic and we tried food that we would not normally have ordered so really appreciated his advice. I paid £36 for enough food for 3 people and we had leftovers for my daughter’s lunch the next day. Would definitely recommend and return.

I can’t believe I have never been here before! My family come often and this evening I went with my son and parents. The staff from the moment we walked through the door were absolutely lovely! So welcoming, funny and couldn’t do enough for us! The food was delicious, tasty and really fresh. 10/10. My son loved it too. Throughout the meal the staff topped up our chutney tray without us asking too. I would definitely recommend to anyone! At the end myself and step mum received a gorgeous fresh rose and my son got a box of Lindt chocolates and an Easter balloon which I thought was a really nice touch. We will be back again for sure. Thank you to all the amazing staff you are super!

Back open and just as good as always . We have loved this restaurant for a few years now and the team never lets us down . Excellent value food , BYOB , including soft drinks , the service is second to none . Feel like a VIP every time you go , and ladies be prepared for a little extra treat too .

As a long standing customer, although I have had several takeaways during the recent closure period, there is nothing to compare a proper sit down meal. The renovations and alterations are fantastic and just add to the previous welcoming atmosphere. The food and service as always was amazing and it was great to see the staff again. Many thanks to everyone for a lovely meal and great first evening out. I really missed you all and am glad you are now open again! x

Ordered a takeaway after a disasterous experience on just eat. A collegue who eats here regularly recommended it. Extremley friendly and accomodating staff. Went here this evening for the first time after being recommended by a friend. We received a friendly welcome and were shown to our table. Dips, water and ice arrived immediately. There were plenty of food options on the menu and it arrived quickly and was delicious- I had vegetable korma and a garlic naan and would recommend both. Probably one of the nicest korma I've ever had, very sweet and smooth and tasty. Service was excellent, they always made sure we hadn't run out of water/ice/napkins etc and were knowledgeable about the menu. Overall a cosy place with great food and very friendly attentive staff. We will definitely be returning in future. Even received a small gift as it was our first visit! Can't recommend this local spot highly enough.

Visiting friends in Stockport fancies something different so glad we choose here. What a fabulous meal and the service was exceptional. Great value for money and the food was very tasty I couldn’t finish and they offered to wrap it up for me.

Visited here with friends as new to the area and it was amazing! I cant believe the amount of food you can get for £14.50, and for once it is not too good to be true! Portions were decent, food was incredible (one of the best curries I've ever had) and the atmosphere was brilliant. Loved the free wine, sambucca, baileys and roses. Staff attentive and really accommodating. Cannot recommend enough and will be back.

The currys and starters were excellent and very reasonable value despite massive portions. The service was quick and exceptionally attentive; ladies were gifted with chocolate and flowers for first time visits which was a lovely touch. Will definitely be returning and would recommend.

Excellent food and customer service. Still doing deliveries whilst confid 19. Nothing too much trouble for them even offerred a free bottle of Pepsi and thanked me for supporting them.

The restaurant is BYO as they are not licensed, so you can bring in your own booze and soft drinks, although we weren't drinking so bringing in 2 cokes prob would of been cheaper buy buy from bar as corkage fee.The service was the best experience. The staff were very attentive and at the end we were given a baileys with our bill, I was given a rose and a mini bottle of wine to take away.The food was nice and tasty

Another visit with friends and everything was as expected. As it was midweek we had the 5 course set meal, great value and good portions. Food as usual was delicious and served piping hot. The staff were fantastic and looked after us really well. 10 out of 10 for service, food and atmosphere.

Another successful trip to this excellent venue with great value and taste being the winner here. Not on the set menu on Sat night but still enjoyed excellent hospitality service and great food. Can’t be beaten.

Used to live very locally so were regulars here and food and service was always good.Moved to other side of town a couple of years ago so have more local options now, however last night we were passing by so picked up a family takeaway and happy to report that the level of service, value for money and quality is as good as ever.So impressed that we will be using them to cater for a family party at the end of the month.Still a great boost to Edgeley to have these guys around.

Best curry I've had in a long time and the garlic naan was to die for as was the main we chose which was pepsilla. Service spot on and worked out nice and cheap as we brought our own wine

They do a takeaway serice to and last year gave the district nurses their food for free on Christmas day...just to say thank you....best indian in stockport...and you take your own alcohol in with you if you're a drinker....so reasonably price to.

Wow, 1st visit here and it was second to none! Service was 6 star and nothing was too much trouble. I've never been asked so many times if I wanted a fresh napkin or new cutlery.

Been to this restaurant several times, food excellent, service good staff very friendly and helpful, the only downside for me is if more than one party in it can be very noisy and I mean very noisy as it quite a small area

Not been for a while and decided to get a takeaway. Ordered the special meal for 2 which is great value and they always throw in a couple of poppadoms and dips. Food is excellent and good portions. The guys are all friendly and helpful and make everyone very welcome. Will definitely return,

I visited Chilli Massala with my partner before our flight from Manchester because of their reviews and I can definitely say they are 5*. You need to take your own drinks which is fine as there is a home bargains next door and a one stop a few doors up which sell cold drinks. All the staff are so welcoming and very chatty. The food was amazing too. After our meal the waiter poured sambucca into our mouths for some fun. Lastly, I received a rose, a box of chocolates and a little bottle of fizz to thank us for visting their restaurant which I have never received before! I couldn't recommend this place anymore. Thank you for giving us a great start to our holiday!

As always superb food matched by superb service and fantastic value. We even asked the owner if he looked after his wife as well as he did his retaurant customers. This is the place especially if it is an occassion as the ladies get a rose and chocolates and zambuka for free and everyone gets a free Baileys and it's bring your own booze in which Chilli Massalla provide glasses and corkage for free.

Came for my boyfriends cousins birthday and it was a wonderful evening, great service great food and can’t wait to return, they ask for allergies too which most places don’t !

Firstly can we just say a massive thank you to all the staff who work so hard, they are all so friendly, polite, funny, and go above and beyond to make sure everyone is enjoying the food and has a fantastic time.

Would highly recommend Chilli, great service and really good food, I usually go for the vindaloo. But my wife loves the lamb chops,if you go for special menu lots of good choices, just don’t forget to take your own alcohol as they don’t have a license. Enjoy

Fabulous night as usual. Must have been 24 of us causing mayhem at a fantastic celebration. These guys at this gem of a restaurant take everything in their stride with extraordinary calm and cheerfulness. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is always up to standard. The ambience is wonderful. Incredibly easy going. Can’t wait to go back.

Dropped by on the way to a concert at Stockport County ground what a find. From the start everything was perfect, attentive but not obtrusive service excellent food at reasonable prices and a red rose for the ladies on leaving. This is BYO establishment but an off licence is just down the road and not expensive, it's also a cash only place so please note. I wish I lived closer as this would definitely be a weekly visit.

This restaurant was absolutely mobbed last night but considering how busy it was the service was excellent! Choo you were a superstar!!! Great variety of choice on the menu with some very interesting new dishes, particularly loved the County Curry.......yum yum. Could not find a single fault and you can take your own booze which makes it even more value for money!! Thank you very much guys

This place was packed, but we were found a table very quickly and informed off the shop to buy our drinks. Poppadoms and normal Indian selection of onion and dips to start. Two main courses and the best lemon rice and garlic naan I’ve had for a while,, completed our order. Service excellent without being hurried or intrusive. After asking for the bill, just under 25.00 we were presented with two shots of Baileys and after eight mints and for the ladies a fresh red rose. Highly recommended and I would definitely make a conscious effort to find a hotel near here/pre flight from Manchester just to taste the amazing food.

I visited on Sunday 2nd June with my husband John. The food was fantastic, tasty, well presented and plenty of it. The ambience was great, the staff were attentive, friendly and very good. Choo and Jay are great.

Been going here off and on since it first opened. Latest visit dreadful, service surly and unhelpful, a requested coke (usually provided in a glass with ice and lemon) was a glass and a CAN plonked unopened in front of me, partner's water likewise gracelessly dumped on table, at this point we stood up, made displeasure obvious and left.

Fitted us in on a Saturday night, fabulous food and service, highly recommended. Looking forward to my next visit

After visiting some of Stockport's finest Pubs, we thought we finish the evening with a curry.

I don’t know why this place has such a high rating it gets good reviews. We specifically picked it for this reason but there was little evidence of it on our evening. The decor is dated and tacky; to be fair there are only so many colors of lights that should be allowed in one place at one time.

We always order the special for delivery and we wasn’t disappointed. It is always freshly cooked and delivered on time excellent as always thank you will be back

This restaurant is THE best Indian Stockport. The service is brilliant. Always full every night. I advise booking. Never had a bad meal and always a great atmosphere. Gifts of flowers to the ladies of your party EVERY time. Yes it's in Edgeley but for a family meal it's great. Full marks to the staff. Welldone boys!!

A veritable jewel in Stockport’s crown; we cannot recommend the Chilli Massalla highly enough and will be returning!

Really fantastic service. The waiter made a real effort to make us welcome and asked if we had any allergies. He was really kind to our kids too.

The service here is absolutely perfect. All the guys working at Chilli Massala are friendly, attentive and never have a bad day. The food is superb. They do not serve alcohol so it's BYOB but if anything it makes the atmosphere even more relaxed.

11 of us ladies went to the Chilli Massalla last night, Set meal for £10.95, poppadoms, starter, main course, rice or Nan, orange slices, ice cream, coffee, an After Eight mint, shot of Baileys and a rose for each of our ladies.

Absolutely awesome food, they were rushed of their feet yet took the time to offer us a complimentary drink whilst we waited. The staff genuinely made you feel like you were their only customer. Cannot rate them high enough.

Was looking to try a new Indian for a change. read reviews on trip adviser which were nearly all good.The staff are really very nice and look after you all the time.The food was very nice, and service good. Will be going back.

Decided to go for a curry as we were in Stockport, we managed to get the last table, the restaurant was full this was a Tuesday evening about 8.30pm.

Daughter just moved nearby so decided to pop out for a curry. For some reason we thought we'd check they were open (it being a Wed) we rang and were told they were full!... No wait a minute if we can have the table back by 8.30pm that's OK! There was only 3 of us so I was intrigued We walked round immediately to find the place bulging at the seams! Ordered the £10 deal and had a full tray of sauces a poppadom and was impressed to have two bowls of onions (other Indians take note!). Lime pickle was offered and accepted. Starter of lamp tikka arrived sizzling and excellent. Main of Chicken Rogan was superb and we each offered a different accompaniment. Pashwari nan was 'different' and oily but nice . Coffee, liquor and After Eight followed and my daughter was presented with a rose and large choc heart. All for a tenner. Unbelievable. BYO helps but we shall be back but will ring and book first!

I agree with previous reviewers. Four of us had dinner which offered exceptional value for £10.95 for 5 courses plus an extra £2, if you want one of the house specialities as a main. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food was good especially the nans. The restaurant is 'bring your own beer and wine' but there is a well stocked off-licence almost next door.

Go a take away as the food is always as good as when we have eaten in the restaurant. Decided to go for the set meal for 2 which is great value, huge portions and excellent choice. The guys who work there are very attentive and always ensure that everything is as it should be. Will definitely return for take outs and sit ins.

El plato de curry que probé fue Chicken Samber, un plato nuevo para una temporada de comida india como yo, y me impresionó la calidad, el sabor picante de la comida que se cocina con jugo de limón y el tamaño de la porción.

No tienen una licencia, así que traes tu propia cerveza y tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio. También eran encantadores con mi nana, que solía comer curry todos los fines de semana y se la llevaban a su apartamento sin ninguna duda (detrás de la tienda) y eran tan encantadoras de que ella le diera el tiempo que siempre necesitaba mientras hablaba por Inglaterra.
