Went to order a take-away and quickly realised that the chef was the only person on the premises. He was taking orders, answering the phone and trying to cook, all at the same time, which made me ask myself, is he washing his hands in between all this?? I quickly left ...

I went to this takeaway at 8.10 pm Saturday 20th July 2013. The only member of staff on the premises was the chef. I was made to wait before placing my order. During this time the chef answered the phone to take a further order. Eventually he acknowledged me and I placed my order for two chicken starters, three chicken main dishes, rice and nan. I was told it would be 40 minutes. I returned at 8.50 to be told that my order was not ready. I was also told that one of the main dishes was not available with chicken. I said prawn would be ok as an alternative. Frozen prawns were then removed from the freezer and defrosted in the sink in my view. The chef then said that he had not started cooking my order and that the food would be a further 20 minutes. After questioning him about this he then said that he could not prepare ANY of the order as he had no chicken! I asked what could be prepared as an alternative as I had by this point been waiting 45 minutes. He said he could prepare nothing. Unbelievable! No apologies from him, just a shrug and he returned to the kitchen. I subsequently ordered a meal from Spicy Spot, 19 Grant Street, Inverness and would thoroughly recommend it! Avoid Chilli Chak at all costs....

VEGAN FRIENDLY!! 💚💚 Got a lovely Aloo Gobi and a Daal from here. I smashed the whole thing even though I was gonna save some for tomorrow, it was too delicious not to eat it all! Great taste, fast service, definitely the best Indian food in town. Thanks for the papadums too bro 🙏

By far one of the best take away curries I've ever eaten on Skye, and I've eaten hundreds, give your chef a pay rise and keep him! 10/10 👌

The food was decent but not truly authentic Indian. Flavors were mild, and it lacked the richness I expected. Not bad overall, but not the best for those seeking real Indian taste.

I had a very disappointing experience at Taste of India today. When we entered, the staff handed us the menu and rudely told us to sit on the sofa instead of offering proper seating for our group of four. Their attitude was unprofessional and made us feel unwelcome. Good customer service is just as important as good food, but unfortunately, the staff’s behavior ruined our experience. I would not recommend this place if you expect basic respect and hospitality.

This was a pretty good Indian restaurant in Inverness. It's not quite on the same level as the one in Edinburgh, but this is definitely worth a visit.
