Went to order a take-away and quickly realised that the chef was the only person on the premises. He was taking orders, answering the phone and trying to cook, all at the same time, which made me ask myself, is he washing his hands in between all this?? I quickly left ...

I went to this takeaway at 8.10 pm Saturday 20th July 2013. The only member of staff on the premises was the chef. I was made to wait before placing my order. During this time the chef answered the phone to take a further order. Eventually he acknowledged me and I placed my order for two chicken starters, three chicken main dishes, rice and nan. I was told it would be 40 minutes. I returned at 8.50 to be told that my order was not ready. I was also told that one of the main dishes was not available with chicken. I said prawn would be ok as an alternative. Frozen prawns were then removed from the freezer and defrosted in the sink in my view. The chef then said that he had not started cooking my order and that the food would be a further 20 minutes. After questioning him about this he then said that he could not prepare ANY of the order as he had no chicken! I asked what could be prepared as an alternative as I had by this point been waiting 45 minutes. He said he could prepare nothing. Unbelievable! No apologies from him, just a shrug and he returned to the kitchen. I subsequently ordered a meal from Spicy Spot, 19 Grant Street, Inverness and would thoroughly recommend it! Avoid Chilli Chak at all costs....

Couldn’t possibly comment on the food here, the queue must have been 60 people long and I had to simply give up after 40 minutes of waiting and pop home for a chip butty before hitting the town again. The smell of the food coming off the customers who were leaving actually made me so angry and jealous that I unfortunately got into and lost a totally unnecessary fight outside harpers bar later that night.

Food was average, but they accept only cash. Customer service is not that great. We were the only customers when we went in. Heavily advertised as indian restaurant all over portree but is clearly Bangladeshi. They even put up Bangladeshi flags in the restaurant. Might be a good idea to change the name to prince of Bangladesh.

They have delicious food and naan The aroma alone is enough to entice anyone inside. Their dishes are bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. The naan is perfectly soft and fluffy, a delightful complement to any meal. It's a true culinary experience that leaves you wanting more. You'll definitely want to savor every bite.

This was a pretty good Indian restaurant in Inverness. It's not quite on the same level as the one in Edinburgh, but this is definitely worth a visit.
