Drove there to pick up a take away menu. They don’t have them and would not give me a table menu, even though he had one in his hand. Told me to look and order online. I didn’t want to do that, B’band connection here is not good. Picked up a Chinese take away menu down the street. They just lost an order for 6 people, say £120-

It does say TAKEAWAY. But it also says ....Modern eatery over 2 floors with Thai lanterns and booth seating, plus an open-to-view kitchen. The upstairs is for another restaurant. Confusing, as all the reviews have plated meals. We could not eat here as takeaway only. We were so disappointed!

The food is very delicious, like eating in Thailand. It's even more delicious than restaurants in Thailand.Reasonable price

Pad Thai was great, not too sweet like many other restaurants. Stir fried chicken with holly basil leaves also great. Many more authentic dishes l will have next time.

Thai green chicken curry with Thai sticky rice was the best I’ve ever had! Was working away and needed some hot food and Chilli Banana tucked all the boxes! Superb food and the staff were fantastic! Will definitely be back and would highly recommend

Amazing veg takeaway in Wilmslow. Also very nominal pricing and friendly staff who make you feel at home. Good quality and fresh food which is packaged well and can be had in the park opposite the restaurant or in the car

We have visited the restaurant for years where the food was excellent. The restaurant has now closed so we got their take away tonight. Restaurant prices but the quality of the food was awful. The sticky rice had to be put in the bin as so hard and the heavenly beef was bland and certainly not heavenly. Unfortunately I could not recommend their new take away menu and very overpriced. We will not return unless their existing high quality Thai food returns.

Good quality food freshly prepared in front of you and excellent, friendly service from everyone. We've been regular customers over the last year and as well as an extensive menu, there's a good choice of Gluten Free options, essential for one of our party of four. We'll be back!

Chilli Banana food is absolutely amazing! I had the sweet corn fritters, pad Thai and green Thai curry!. The pad Thai was the best pad Thai I have ever tasted and the other dishes were also fantastic. I will definitely be eating Chilli Banana food again. All the meat is Halal. I believe you can eat it, have a take away, have it delivered to offices and they also cater for huge events.

Always delightful experience. Food is excellent. Always go for the rice or noodle box and find these portions huge. The staff are honestly the nicest.

Ordered takeout for a group dinner. Disappointing meal overall. Only thing we ordered and enjoyed were the chicken spring rolls. Steak strips were like plain boiled beef. Squid starter had too much batter and was greasy. All main meals were watery and/or bland. Would not order takeout from here again.

£170 worth of takeaway ordered. All dishes seemed to be watered down. Spare ribs and prawn pad Thai were good but everything else was terrible. The green curry was fluorescent and didn’t taste right. Massaman like a soup. Noodles that stuck together they were one massive block we had to cut up using a knife. I don’t know what’s changed as normally the food is good.

Really poor takeout tonight for 7adults. All the dishes were watery and tasteless. Even the sweet chilli sauce which came with the prawn crackers was watery. The noodles were dry and so stuck together. We’ve eaten here many times before it became just a takeout and are very disappointed. Will not be ordering again.

Chilli Banana Cheadle Hulme - I was really looking forward to my takeaway last night but was disappointed. I ordered Beef Massaman curry; the flavour was spot on but the beef was very chewy and fatty and there were only two small potatoes. The rice was cold too. Expensive for what I got.

I was unwell and my wife was going to an 80th birthday - I ordered a meal via Deliveroo but unfortunately the address got altered and the meal was delivered elsewhere - Deliveroo were unhelpful but the Chilli Banana kindly sent a complementary meal for my wife and myself the next day - top class service we won’t forget it - Peter Y Wilmslow

Used to be my favourite restaurant but ever since they have moved to a takeaway it’s changed in quality. For example the chicken with cashew nuts and dried chilli has lost some of it’s flavour and only 6 cashew nuts in the entire dish. The chilli and basil stir fry chicken has changed colour oddly enough and isn’t as spicy or flavourful. Such a shame this has happened to a once amazing place

Having visited the chilli banana restaurant for years I have experienced fantastic Thai cuisine. As a special treat I have ordered take away food from the restaurant and the food has been of the same high standard as the restaurant but also the same price. Early in 2022 the Wilmslow restaurant closed in favour of a take-away only service at the back of the original restaurant. The prices are still exactly the same as the original restaurant, but the food is now disappointingly take-away quality rather than restaurant grade. I don’t think we’ll be racing to pay £100 for a takeaway from here again.

Wouldn’t recommend, Waited 15 mins for menu, then waitress realise no menu, food came no plate was given, had to ask them , food ordered 2 time different people came back say sory not available, no salad portion small for main course , waitress didn’t bother spending 2 mins , ask for fried rice but was steam rice , and when paying bill we say was fried noodle, but was steam ,just the thing is of u wana have good time with family it isn’t recommended, on our way out no bye nothing no customer service at all .

Visiting Wilmslow from Wales and friend recommended a take away from here. I blown away. I had Thai lred curry and Beef noodles both were freshly made and tasted amazing. The rice was perfect too.

Honestly pretty disappointing. Ordered a red curry and requested to pick it up in 20 minutes. Turned up and they haven’t even started it yet. Instead of just asking me to wait a bit they immediately scrambled to make something rushed. Produced a red curry within 2 minutes that was average and small and certainly not worth £13. Avoid.

Great thai food last night Aroi

Ordered the chicken with cashew nuts which was nice, husband ordered heavenly beef & the beef was tough in my opinion, the starter of rump steak strips which was £7 something and the meat was touch as anything and was just dumped in the takeaway box so no presentation, £30 plus for two mains and a starter and I have to say wasn’t thrilled

We ordered 5 main meals 1 portion of fish cakes and crackers. The special fried rice was in a large soggy lump. The pad Thai was very sweet it was like eating a desert! The fish cakes were like rubber discs. The crackers were ok !! A very disappointing meal. Very expensive the bill was £57.00. NEVER AGAIN !!

What a lovely place. We were greeted by Steve Wakefield "the owner" he made sure that he will find us a table on a very busy Sat night! First time to be there and he took the time to explain the menu and made excellent recommendations. We loved the starters & the mains. Atmosphere was lovely. Staff made us feel so welcomed. Thanks Steve. We recommended it already to all our local friends and I am sure will go back again. 😍👍

It's OK...Nice couple that own it, but could invest more in fresher ingredients and better presentation. Nice central location, clean facilities. A bit pricey but reflects the area.

Visited here Bank Holiday Sunday. Arrived a bit early and sat and had a drink near the bar while we waited for our table. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We eat upstairs on the terrace. Food was delicious. Only criticism was service was a bit slow and could clearly see they needed more staff as glasses building up on the bar. My husband ordered drinks took 15mins for his to come and 20 mins for mine. Would have liked them earlier and together otherwise a lovely experience

This restaurant was one of my favourite. So decide to go back soon as we have the chance to. To a surprise a lot of the front of staffs have changed. Nevertheless they were very friendly. The green curry was amazing. One of the best in the area. The only bit of criticism is food coming out of the kitchen was slow. More than usual. Other than that. everything was excellent. definitely one to recommend

Drove past this place it looked the part and I was craving Thai food so I thought I'll give a try as reviews and hygiene rating was decent. I ordered my food which all come out fairly quick. Halfway through the Tom Yam gung King prawn soup I noticed a dead fly on a mushroom so I stirred the soup and had a closer look only to notice another two dead flies in the soup the waitress was nearby so i called her over and told her and she had a look and offered me a replacement which I didn't want as my appetite was gone after that and she said I will remove that of the bill and I'll tell the kitchen. There was nothing offered on the house or a discount on the rest of the bill that was the least they could have done not even a manager came over to apologise. Disappointed won't be going there again

We bought a frozen take away to heat up at home as we live too far away for a hot takeaway. It was superb and all the dishes we chose were excellent. The cooking times were longer than the website said, but were worth waiting for x

Just one of the best restaurants

Me and my partner called one saterday lunch time for the first time, we ate off the lunch menu the food was spot on, tasty, well presented and the service was impeccable, we will deffinately be calling here again, would definitely recommend.

Anna, Mimi, Ryan were all fabulous. The service from them all and the drinks were amazing! 10/10 would try and hire them at my bar, but I know the difficulty with staff levels atm! They're an asset to the business!

Had high expectations after reading reviews but did not have a pleasant night. Was seated upstairs and the cleanliness was poor, cobwebs around lightbulbs and the table stands needed a wipe. Wine bucket left without the wine. Had to ask for cutlery and my dish was too hot despite asking to be mild. One dish was forgotten about and a pint of draught lager was served with the beer nozzle in the bottom of glass. How when serving they never saw it drop in the beer is beyond me but to be served with it in is unacceptable .

We booked a table for a birthday celebration not having been to the restaurant since lockdown. We were expecting the high standards experienced on our previous visits and was shocked at the quality of the service and quality of the food. When we entered the restaurant we noted that our table had not been prepared and when offered a table upstairs noted that it was very dusty. There were also cobwebs handing from the light fittings. We asked for the alternative wooden tables for our party which was a better option however we were not prepared for the chairs which were full of food stains and totally un suitable for a restaurant. The food order was incorrectly taken so that one of our party was given the wrong meal and the portions were so small they were little more than a starter. One of the beers was served with small pieces of plastic tubes nestled in the bottom of the glass which raised doubts as the cleanliness behind the bar. I would not recommend this restaurant at the present time as it obviously has suffered due to Covid restrictions and the management need to be retrained.

Booked a table for 4 for a Sunday evening. We were concerned about our reservation since it was raining slightly, but their covers and their heat lamps made sure we were all very comfortable throughout our meal. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was very tasty. One of our highlights which surprised us were the spare ribs on the starter platter! Highly recommend, we'll be back again soon!

Terrible franchise from even more terrible owners. Frozen overpriced processed food which is sold as authentic Thai cuisine but actual quality is comparable to a Chinese Chippie. Other branch owners brazenly and systematically STOLE staff pensions and never paid them back. Avoid like the plague

We had a very pleasant meal at Chiili Banana a few days ago. The service was fine and good covid precautions were in place. We had Thai fishcakes and hot and sour soup as starters and stir fry beef with ginger and garlic and pepper king prawns as main cases. I am no expert on Thai food and could not say how authentically Thai they were but they were all delicious. The sticky toffee pudding that we had for dessert was definitely not Thai but very tasty nonetheless.

An ok experience, for a premium price. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly waitress, shown to our table, and had the rules explained "a la corona". The host was very attentive and we ordered soon enough. Everything was great so far, and there were only 2 other tables occupied. Despite this, the drinks took quite a while to arrive, and unfortunately this set the tone for the rest of the evening. 10 minutes wait for drinks, 10 minutes wait for starters, 15 minutes for mains, 20-25 minutes wait for desserts. Ordering a jug of water for the table took the dreaded "second request" when it didn't arrive after 10 minutes. The food was nice enough, definitely not anything to complain about, except the per head price. Maybe I'm picky, but I'm used to paying less for better food. If I had to sum it all up in a word I'd say "ok", but that's not really acceptable from a restaurant claiming a premium experience and charging to match.

Excellent food and service. We've been waiting for CB top reopen after the lock down and booked as soon as we found out. We were completely impressed, the food and service were excellent. Prawn crackers (goes without saying), steak strips, chicken satay, veg spring rolls and chicken spring roll starters, Chicken Green curry, Chicken Penang and Chicken Pad Krapow mains were all top class. It's our go to place for Thai and we will be back.Thanks

takeaway was dreadful....A big Macc would have been better.Ordered on line ....food was prepared at wrong branch ! waited 30m to make dish , offered glass of wine but just wanted food and to be out of environment were no one was wearing masks .When opened food at home , it was wrong , two dishes were completely different.Soup was only decent edible part of course ...everything else was just poor and very heavy laid with fat .i have eaten here serval times before and it was ok , but this was dreadful .will give this a miss in future .

First time ordering from here and we can’t fault the food. Easy to book through the app (which you also gain loyalty points from). We collected the meals from the stunning looking restaurant which we are looking forward to dining in when the lockdown ends. Fabulous tasting food packed full of flavour and big enough that we had left overs the next day. I would recommend Chilli Banana to anyone and to those of you who love Thai food this establishment is a must eat at.

The food here is tasty enough but very expensive. We ate in here and enjoyed it, but ordered the same meal to takeaway recently and it was barely edible.

Super friendly. However we found what looked to be raw chicken in our meal. We were assured that the chicken is slow cooked so may look pink but it is good. We are all now suffering nausea and diarrhea within 1.5 hours of eating...ohh and the fried rice was dried and almost burnt (tasted that way).

So happy to have seen this restaurant grow and expand over the years - their food is consistently delicious and authentic Thai. Good for delivery, but I always enjoy it most in the restaurants themselves which have a lovely ambience to them.

Really poor service for set lunch today (7/3/20) to celebrate a 30th birthday. Only 2 waiters on in the whole restaurant, both which seemed inexperienced at the job. When our party arrived no drinks were offered until we asked at least twice, the food was pre ordered a few days beforehand but not all got served at same time, the first course plates didn’t get taken away before the second course arrived and we even had to get one of our 5 year old children to get fresh cutlery and distribute to all the family members. Best of all, when we paid the substantial bill, two people turned up to collect the payments!! Although the food was good and portions plentiful they let themselves down badly, they didn’t impressed me or anyone in our party, so all those potential wealthy influencers will say - avoid CB Wilmslow like the Covid 19!

Great thai food quick friendly service most recommended

Food was really good but let down by poor service. An issue in the kitchen meant that all the orders were very delayed. This is understandable but there was very little communication of this meaning we were left wondering what was going on. Was a shame as the food was very good.

We visiting last night in a family group but we did not get off to a good start! They could not locate out booking so we had to wait a bit till they got sorted out. The food and the service were both then excellent and although there was a bit of a wait, we were advised of this before we sat down. Had a brilliant night and the staff really worked hard to look after us. Thankyou all

Stood at bar for 10 minutes with nobody else at the bar, no acknowledgement that we were there and no eye contact off barman or other members of staff who kept on going behind bar to sort drinks for restaurant. Barman didn’t know strength of either of the 2 draught beers on offer his reason for not knowing was it was only his 2nd shift there. The service at the table was equally as pitiful. The mixed starter selection was made up of the smallest of fried morsels you can imagine with a unlit year spare rib and at £8.45/ person for possible 50p of food was little more than pathetic. The main courses were tasty but nothing special. Ordering drinks at the table proved equally as poor as when stood at the bar, 1st order at the table was wrong drinks, served a bottle of wine without being ask if we’d like to try it then poured the drinks at the end of the table without asking who was having it. Asked for a large glass of red and a small arrived although it was then changed to a large. Ordered another large red, waited 5 minutes, asked waiter where it was, he checked and came back to say barman was too busy serving other people. Biggest waste of £43/person I’ve had in a long time.

Very buzzy restaurant, we had a lovely meal, good was very well presented. Staff are friendly and polite, just not enough of them, we had quite a wait between main and desert. However I still award 5 stars because, maybe, it was worth the wait.4 adults and 2 children.

It's a lovely building, well decorated and lovely atmosphere but slightly cold.Lovely bora bora mocktail. Same prawn pad Thai as I've had at the Macclesfield venue. Always gorgeous. Except at this venue I didn't get dry chilli flakes, we asked for some and fresh chilli came out instead. Can't complain though because the food is delicious.

Fantastic meal last night at Chilli Banana in Wilmslow. Husband on the FODMAP diet and the manager had printed off a list of foods and gone through the menu. When we arrived she sat down with my husband and went through the menu in detail deciding what would be appropriate and what could be changed to fit the diet. Excellent service and the food was delicious. Can highly recommend to those who struggle to find somewhere to eat due to food intolerances. Restaurant was very busy so service was slightly slow but very attentive staff and we were not in a hurry.

Lovely starters and a delicious sea bass. Slightly disappointing massaman and completely forgot about our desserts. Wouldn't take much to change for this to be 5*

It's nice enough. Large spacious dining room with comfortable seating. Friendly staff. Served the table with plenty of bottled chilled tap-water without prompting and kept this coming along with any other drinks orders. The menu has a good selection of hot starters, spicy Thai salads and soups, and main courses of stir fry, four curries (with chicken or beef) and fish dishes (offering sea bass), noodle dishes, rice, etc. I had Thai fishcakes to start (four firm dark-brown patties with a sweet & aromatic dipping sauce on the plate) which were nice enough. Main course I chose the green curry with chicken, served with sticky rice. There was a generous amount of chicken and delicious green curry sauce, slices of fresh ginger and a few slices red chili. There didn't appear to be a massive amount of aubergine, but the sauce was enjoyable with the rice and chicken.

I can't say anything about the food, but I can share my experience of their website maintenance and on-line booking system. I organised a family get-together (dinner & film) on boxing day. My mother expressed a desire to try this place, so I looked in up on-line. Both google and the restaurant's own website said they were open that day, from 5pm. I booked a reservation on the restaurant website for 6 at 5:30pm, and received an email confirmation, inc confirmation number. I arrived with my elderly parents at ~5:15pm, to find the lights on, music playing, but the doors locked. Thinking they were maybe just running late, I spent 15 mins stood outside in the cold calling (no answer) & knocking, until eventually someone came to the door and rudely grunted to me that they were closed and I should leave. I tried to show them the email reservation, but they didn't care to see it. Please keep your online reservation system up to date, and don't be rude to customers who think it should mean something. I won't bother trying to go back.

Very tasty food. All vegetarian options can be made vegan upon request. Friendly staff and a very cosy and clean environment. Look forward to returning soon.

Family dinner out, one party gluten intolerant, absolutely brilliant service cleared all dishes with the chefs, GF Flags on everything that could be eaten (which was pretty much everything). Lovely food, fresh and tasty, staff were great - attentive, happy and fun to work with. Kudos to you all!

A Friday early evening meal, the food, drinks and service were great. Used to eat at the Knutsford Chilli Banana fairly regularly and missed it as it was much nearer to home. We tried Wilmslow and weren't disappointed. The interior of the restaurant is very comfortable. Crispy Beef fillet strips starter and Chicken Pad Krapow main are recommended!

Consistently good food! Service is always good. The steamed sea bass is my favourite food ever! I frequently visit with my family and we are always impressed.

Good food but the service was a bit bad, took too long to take the drinks orders (they may forgot about us) also a person from the staff drop food on my dress when tried to take the plates and cuttery! The also brought to us someone else dessert at the beginning by mistake!

Unfortunately this restaurant has lost its edge, in terms of service, presentation, and service. Our latest visit was very disappointing, Tiger beer not available, delays in all aspects of service and the food only warm and not up to previous quality. Disappointing.

Having travelled to Thailand in many occasions and sampled lots of different dishes, I was looking forward to sampling a Thai food at home. I wanted the family to enjoy what I had enjoyed. This menu doesn’t even come close to authentic Thai food. I ordered two of my favourite dishes, Tom Yum Goong and Pad Krapow Gai. When the arrived I was excited to dive in. Unfortunately it was like a weak watery soup with no spice whatsoever. I called the waiter over and complained. I was told that’s how people like it?! I asked if he had ever tasted genuine Tom Yum Goong and he said no. I then told him it was nothing like it should be and he just shrugged his shoulders. I tried the Pad Krapow Gai and again very disappointing. This dish is famous for its Thai Holy Basil which brings the dish alive. Here I suspect they used the more available Thai Sweet Basil which although tasty, is NOT meant to be in this dish. Lovely restaurant, terrible Thai food!

We used to live in Wilmslow near to the original Chilli Banana at the Kings Arms roundabout. Upon a brief return we wanted to visit their 'new' restaurant, and despite being early it was full. As we had no booking our disappointment was obvious and Aiden suggested we wait as he thought there might be a chance, although naturally he couldn't be specific. A table did become available and Aiden ensured we were looked after superbly. Needless to say the food was even better than we remembered when we left Wilmslow 20 years ago. Our only disappointment was that we weren't able to see Steve and May as they weren't in that night. It would have been nice to see them again. We will definitely return when we are next in the area.
