First time but not the last. Loved it here! 😍 Thai food is my fav. I've tried many places and by far, this is the best restaurant that I've been to. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Super cute and very well decorated place. The food was unreal! Great menu, all was very tasty with good portions and a lovely presentation. Thanks ladies! 🙏🏼

We often get a takeaway from here which is always good but last night visited the restaurant and we were so impressed. We dine out a lot at some of the best restaurants in Brighton, but this was the best meal we'd had in a while. The food was so fresh, it was different and original. The man serving us who I think was the owner was also lovely and welcoming, also getting our dog a bowl of water. We'll be back again a lot!

Gorgeous little Thai venue! Lovely, fresh seaside style decor.. Makes you feel happy the minute you sit down! Super cold beer and delicious starters. Next level Sesame Prawn Toast! Perfect level of spice in my drunken noodles. There’s always a queue outside the door so go early if you can, makes all the difference. Run by a lovely friendly couple! They made our little boy a special rice dish too as he’s super picky. Hove delight, thanks for looking after us guys! 10% off when you pick up too x

Stopped by for lunch on a recommendation. Really happy I did! Fabulous service and excellent freshly prepared and wonderfully tasty food. Excellent vegan and gluten free choices. Bonus is that it’s also dog friendly. The hostess/owner is absolutely delightful and so are the cocktails! Should not be missed!

Not the authentic Thai food. I ordered royal ice tea 👎, crying tiger (it's me crying instead lol) and prawn pad Thai... Which is sweet and not using the correct sauce base. Massaman .... Not quite there...

Went for a mid week meal with my dad. Food was good value for money. I had the duck pad Thai which was amazing.

I have been going to Chilli since they opened. Oh man how have they changed!. The portions are now smaller and the prices have rocketed. It used to be very good value for money competing with the likes around them. Not anymore. Such a shame that they always do this. Bump the prices up and reduce the portions. My rice and red curry came in 2 minimalist bowls which at the joint price of £20 you cannot justify it. Staff stood by our table constantly overlooking as to trying to hurry us up and the bill came to the table without us asking for it while we were enjoying our wine. They won’t be my first choice for a Thai anymore.

More focus on take away customers than the ones at the restaurant. We waited nearly 40min between starter and main. Owner was very rude and arrogant, made us feel uncomfortable. Still charged £9.75 service charge.

Me and my girlfriend have been eating at Chilli for about 6 years - by far the best Thai we’ve had. Not only is the food exceptional, the staff and owner are incredibly attentive and friendly. Even when it’s really busy you never feel rushed. Always a pleasurable experience. 10/10

Very disappointed with service this evening. It was very condescending. I ordered beef which was stone cold, it wasn’t clear when ordering from their menu that it was a salad. I was approached by a member of staff asking how my meal was, I explained to them I didn’t expect my dish to be cold. They didn’t offer me an option to change, only after ordering they explained there is another beef dish which is served hot. Overall an experience I would not like a repeat, which is a shame as I was expecting a great meal and service from the other reviews.

Really good food and nice service. We did have to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation time to get a table but the manager was really nice about it and offered us free drinks for the trouble. Definitely recommend the place and would go back again.

Chilli is a *phenomenal* Thai restaurant which not only offers a strong variety of flavours and dishes, but a more authentic taste of Thailand than *any* other restaurant in the area. I’ve been back multiple times to explore more and more of their menu, and have been consistently impressed with every dish I’ve tried. The pricing is reasonable for the quality of food and the service is ALWAYS on-point. All in all, I’d HIGHLY recommend you not only check out Chilli, but give it a few visits to try new dishes and get a full taste of what they have to offer! ▬▬▬ RECOMMENDATIONS ▬▬▬ Here’s a few recommendations APPETISERS: ► CRISPY CHILLI SQUID — They do it right, with light breading around squid properly cooked to avoid being chewy. ► THAI FISH CAKES — They do their fish cakes right, with a good blend of flavours and sweet chili sauce on the side. MAINS: ► PHAD THAI — For your baseline Thai experience, their phad thai gets the job done just right! ► CRISPY PORK BELLY — Very much a favourite. The pork is wonderfully crispy and mixed in with some amazing sauces. Get it with rice and enjoy! ► SPICY DRUNKEN NOODLES — if you’re looking for a little heat, this was recommended by the owner and did not disappoint. ► ANGRY DUCK — Very, very good if you’re looking for a richer poultry option! DRINKS: ► THAI ICED COFFEE/TEA — One of my favourite drinks from the region and one of the only places where I can find it!

Food was delish and staff were very nice and welcoming. Been twice already. We would've given food a 5 star rating but we were quite disappointed with the mango sticky rice. I ordered the black sticky rice the first time and the white sticky rice the 2nd time. We expected the mango to be fully ripe and sweet for the 2nd try but it was the same. The sauce was not as creamy and sweet as we hoped. Also, the rice was a bit salty for my liking. It would've been balanced out with the thick, sweet and creamy coconut sauce. The Thai pancakes were very nice though. Overall, a good experience and we will definitely go back there. :)

Lovely place. This was our first visit but we definitely plan to go again. My wife had chicken satay and the Angry Duck. I had Tom Yum soup and a special - spicy pad Thai with fried pork belly. The waitress was very helpful in picking the dishes. Dogs are always welcome.

Great food. I had the Tom Yum Soup which had a delicious hot and sour lemongrassy taste. Then followed with the Five Spice Pork Belly with Sticky Rice. Very very tasty and a good portion.

A lovely restaurant and nice staff but they gave my mum a chicken pad Thai when she ordered a vegetarian one (as she is vegetarian) she ate some in error before realising and was mortified. Servers were kind and apologetic and food was good - but this oversight wasn't ideal!

Fantastic Thai good, often get takeaway from here. We did Have an unfortunate incident where our large takeaway order was accidentally given to a different customer, the owner was very apologetic and dealt with the problem straight away once he realised and sorted things out. I was obviously quite frustrated at the time but these things happen! Staff are always really friendly and helpful.

Walked in tonight without booking. Luckily they had a table. Book as it’s popular and now know why! Amazing food, service and interior. All three of us said it’s going to be our new regular Thai restaurant. Highly Recommended!

We don’t get to eat out as much anymore, so a takeaway is sometimes the perfect option. Our takeaway last night was just so so good. Whole deep fried fish, with the most delicious, fresh, zingy, spicy sauce.. a veg massaman was full of creamy spice, the crispy squid was so perfectly crispy and well cooked. Loved it. Would like to eat it all again tonight!

Inviting atmosphere, delicious food and friendly service! We had the veggie spring rolls, massaman curry, crab fried rice and holy basil stir fry - all were perfectly cooked and delicious. Will definitely be coming back!

Will definitely be coming back. My partner thinks the crab fried rice was the best thing on the table, while I recommend the massaman curry! Happy diners all around :)

Fabulous independent restaurant serving some old favourites and some new Thai dishes.

We've been here twice now, and every dish we've ordered has been 10/10. Highly recommend the Country Chicken and prawns wrapped in crispy noodles.

Really nice relaxed dining in Central Hove. Good menu, very tasty. I had 2 course lunch menu, great value too. Friendly staff. Take note the spicy drunken noodles are indeed spicy! Will go again, impressed. Update : have been many times, still impressed. Love it

Ordered via Uber Eats and 5 minutes before order was due to be delivered we received a cancellation. Upon contacting Chilli all they wanted to do was blame Uber and offer no solutions, and were actually completely dismissive of the situation - even when the ‘owner’ contacted us. They took no ownership of the situation and besides the food having been pretty good when we ordered from here in the past, we won’t be returning. Having read through the other reviews it seems to me that the proprietor seems to blame anybody else for any problems and accept no responsibility for any negative feedback offered by the customer. Others seem to have had a similar experience irrespective of where the fault lies I see that the ‘owner’ has now responded suggesting that I was rude. To be clear I was not at all rude but merely exasperated that an order can be cancelled 5 minutes before delivery and yet Chilli accept no responsibility. There is a pattern here where Chilli blame anything less than 5 star on delivery companies, consumers and anyone else, as I said previously we will avoid them in future

After wandering around looking for somewhere to eat, we just opted for this place, not knowing anything about it. Eternally grateful that we did though. Food was absolutely 100%, atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable and the service was excellent. Being here on holiday, I so wish this restaurant was closer to home.

We visited this restaurant for my mother's birthday and it was such a nice decision. Its a very cozy restaurant with scrumptious thai food and some unique dishes. Everything was super tasty and had different flavors. The floating market fish and the prawn wrapped in crispy noodles won our hearts. What made our experience memorable are the super warm servers. We were greeted and taken care by three of them and they all are super friendly and managing the entire place responsibly 😀. If u r looking for any place for celebration, then hands down would recommend this restaurant as it ticks off all the boxes 😊. I would love to give one extra star for the service 😉

We live locally and finally got around to trying out this place, and we shouldn’t have waited so long. What an amazing experience. Food was fantastic, generous portions, extremely tasty and arrived in good time. Our server Mei was excellent, funny and attentive. Will certainly be back!

Cafe Chilli in Hove is, without a doubt, the best Thai restaurant in Brighton. Whenever you arrive, you're greeted with the friendliest staff, and the owners, Seb and Fon, are the heart and soul of this wonderful place. One thing that really sets Chilli apart is the portion sizes – they are incredibly generous. Seb and Fon go above and beyond to make sure their customers feel welcome and appreciated. It's not just about the food; it's the whole experience that keeps us coming back. As we're always about to leave, Seb always surprise us with a complimentary shot, a sweet gesture that makes us feel like part of their extended family. Their kindness and genuine care for their customers make each visit memorable.🌶️🍛😊

The food was very disappointing. This restaurant was MUCH better. The Tom yum was tasteless and lacked the most important ingredient which is lemongrass!, the squid was not served in an optimal quality and the chicken green curry was over cooked and the curry itself was watery in consistency (not creamy and rich).

Busy, very nice host, lovely service, waited a while for each course tbh. Small portions, there was no guide on the menu as to ow hot the dish might be, which would have been really helpful, they used to according to my friend who comes regularly, why did you stop? I always resent paying for rice as its obvious you need that.... Very small portion of prawn crackers, mean. Expensive for each tbh. Disappointed. Tasty enough, Desserts were very few, I was lucky going for the crispy pancakes and ice cream but banana spring rolls were not to any of our taste. I felt meh about the whole thing, I get that it's hard for restaurants now and they are obviously making portions smaller in a bid to make profit, but sorry I wouldn't return, it was just too much for too little for my taste. Be generous with cheap items like rice and prawn crackers, , we are spending our money with you, you want us back no? Sorry it a red buzzer from me...

Favourite Thai restaurant in Brighton & Hove!! The food is outstanding - packed with flavour and really reasonably priced for the portions you get. My favourite dishes here are the ‘Angry Duck’, crispy pork belly, holy basil stir fry, and Massaman curry - all are excellent paired with coconut or jasmine rice. The mocktails are great too, I usually order the Thai Orchid which is lychee & rose based. I often recommend Chilli to friends and they’re always similarly impressed - it’s a real gem 🌶️✨

Very busy day we pre booked. Roast was okay . Not everyone enjoyed it . We had tabled of 8. Service was okay think they could have been more prepared as lots of people came up and sat outside feel the restaurant were not reafy for that volume of people on a sunny day. On the upside puddings lovely . Not sure if having to order food at the bar is the best personable experience. Maybe have outside service like that and the restaurant have waitress / waiter service. Then you would get less mistakes. Jx

Really good Thai flavours and good value for money. The restaurant was very quiet for a Thursday evening but I guess that's due to the cold weather and the cost of living.

On Friday I ordered through Uber Eats (from my phone call with them and other reviews the restaurant, it appears the restaurant is quick to blame them however…), I’d waited nearly an hour and a half before my order was cancelled via Uber Eats. I contacted the restaurant as I’d not long had a notification from the app my food was being collected my a driver. The restaurant told me they’d stopped my cooking my food when it was cancelled meaning they’d not even started it an hour in to me waiting for this and it exceeding the expected wait time. Incredibly hungry, and incredibly pregnant, the restaurant didn’t offer any way of it being rectified as they’d finally stopped taking orders through the app - they told me that usually on a busy night orders would begin to be cooked upto 40mins after receiving this through the app with a wait time of 50mins to an hour. So I questioned why my order hadn’t been started around the 7.40ish mark and 45mins later still not arrived? No real explanation, a weak apology and a promise of a call or email by the following lunchtime as it was clear this was the restaurant’s fault for not turning off their ordering system and staying on top of the deliveries requests of what sounded like a busy restaurant. I’m yet to receive any contact which is the reason for this poor review. Such a shame because it’s a lovely Thai and I’d had a real craving for it but his attitude (appreciate it was busy but doesn’t mean you need to be rude) and the service really, really has been a let down. Otherwise, I’d actually rate this much higher because I’ve not had one bad meal from them. Don’t want to sound like a “Karen” (no offence to any nice Karens) but I’m eating for 2, and had waited for ages for delicious food only for it be cancelled over an hour in to my order and no acknowledgement from the restaurant this is clearly a learning curve for them. If you’re busy, turn off your Uber Eats option!!!

Best Thai in Brighton! Nothing comes close. The food is out of this world, drinks incredible, service impeccable!

Firstly the ambience is super nice. Gives off a very welcoming and calm vibe. I ordered jungle curry and drunken noodles. It’s spicy and really tasty. 🌶️ For starters i got the prawn and crab spring roll but it wasn’t my fav. I’d give that a 5/10 🦀 🦐 The curry and noodles were good. Please note that the rice doesn’t come along the curry and needs to be ordered separately. The restaurant is expensive. 💸

Authentic Thai cuisine, in a lovely setting in Central Hove. Lovely staff that keep us well fed and looked after all night. Pictured is the vegetable and Tofu massaman that was absolutely spot on. Highly reccomend this place if you're after some proper tasty Thai food.
