Chicken Shack in Newport

Normally when visiting Newport for training at the velodrome I stop at another coffee house but for the last few weeks the training sessions have been earlier, and the normal place has been shut. The staff have been pleasant, and the coffee was nice… I did have a toasted teacake with jam on one occasion, but the jam was far to sugary… Next week I think we'll try the place next door and see how that is, but all in all a reasonable place for a coffee and I would go back. Some of my reviews may seem unforgiving but I come from a time when everything was not “Awesome” and “near enough was not good enough”. So, if I say something is “Excellent” that is because it is somewhere better than most others… and well worth considering visiting. Had to give this a go as seen it on TikTok and my sister booked it for us all and we had a lovely time , the staff are rude but it’s not offensive and we all found it funny and would deffo go again

Fluffing distaster. First time since feb 2020 and last time ever. Ordered 2h ahead, with a specified time of the delivery. With specific instructions for both the driver and the "kitchen". Is it hard to read and interpret "please, use half of the usual amount of tomato sauce"? Is it hard to understand to put double cheese and some beef? Do you need someone to draw you a picture / pictogram in order to do what your are fluffing paid to do? Pizza was cold on the edges, barerly warm in the very middle. Over half an hour late, no contact with the driver or the "restarurant" itself. Customer service - NON-EXISTENT. Pizza was missing two toppings, was soggy and drenched in fat (that includes the cardboard box as well!) If you have a choice between frozen pizza (ANY!!) and pizzahut, please, do not hesitate. Fluff the latter. Fluffing DISGUSTING, both food and customer service.

A good birthday for my mum and the staff where helpful and kind a great place to come to visit with your friends and family .

Lovely staff steak and ale pie pastry delicious, flavour excellent, meat chunks far too big and we're not tender which spoilt the dish. Informed staff who said they would pass it on to chef but pies are bought in !! Chef sent massage back she would cut chunks smaller in future ?? How can you do that when you buy them in ?? Spoilt an otherwise nice meal.
