Farries in Newport

Took me five years to find (it was hidden behind a wall and some houses until they were knocked down recently, and even signposted and getting directions I'm not the best at finding things), but it was well worth the wait. The service was excellent, all the staff friendly, and the food is lovely. The batter light and crisp, and best of all it's affordable. I highly recommend this little local chippy and will definitely be coming back - now I know where it is.

Didn’t ask for onions as I’m allergic to them and had them all over and I didn’t get my lettuce and tomato total piss take won’t order from these people Again very disappointed! I also tired to ring 2 times and they never answered didn’t even try to call me back

we had fish and chips .absolutely stunning but the drinks we orderd ws wrong and we ordered curry which diddnt arrive ...

When this shop first opened it was a family favourite to say the qualit of everything is gone is an u derstamant, before I ordered on here I rang the store and asked them waiting time on just eat I was told a little over an hour ? had problem with curry sauce women who owns it very rude tried to explain that the sauce was different from what we ordered 2 days previous explained my daughter has autism and only ordered again as she really enjoyed it but she didn't want to know now have an upset daughter and out of pocket as sent all the sauce back with driver (who was lovely ) definitely will not order again

order was missing 2 jumbo sausages and took a small while to get here... they advertise 2L drinks but the diet coke that arrived with order was 1.25L they do accept cash which is a bonus

When it comes to food, I prefer to let it speak for itself! Some how tasted worse than it looked! And charged £7.50 for the privilege. So much for this place being recommended? Never again will I go to this place, forced to give 1*.

Ordered at 1923, delivery didn't come on time, asked for an update, i had an apology and was told it would be here by 2115. Still didn't come within the time stated, finally arrived at 2125

I am disappointed to have items missing from my delivery. After phoning to inform Farries of the error, an apology was not forthcoming and they said they would send the missing item when the driver returns.. 1hr 20min later I am still waiting and wondering if I will receive my missing item at all! Also, Farries need to improve the wrapping of individual items! A carton of curry sauce was poorly wrapped and most of the content had leaked out in the bottom of the carrier bag. This is a very poor quality of service and I am sorry to say, the last time order from Farries..

Took hour and a half to deliver sausage and chips half a mile. Shocking. Chips were stone cold sausage rock hard the warmest bit was the drinks.

Ordered 2 portions of chips only received one and no pakoras (which cash was given on the door for the pakoras, fine) unfortunate about the missing chips though and the chips, sausage and pie were cold when received, however ordered a curry 1/2 1/2 chicken masala and it was incredible, tasty, big portion and have to say the best chicken tikka masala I’ve ever tasted that wasn’t from a curry house, will defo be ordering again.

I feel extremely embarrassed for the delivery service . as there is not One occasion in the past three months that any Of Our family ordering on several separate occasions that the delivery has been in excess of an hour late and in fact on two occasions my daughter has drive to the restaurant only to find our cold order awaiting collection and on one occasion they remade the missing undelivered order and she has returned home with a fresh before.before the original order has arrived . I find this absolutely unacceptable and shocking on the delivery company’s business practice .

food was delayed twice but upon collecting the store was empty. the chips weren’t completely cooked and they gave me a smaller bottle of coke than the one i paid for.

Chips were cold,hard and covered in black bits as if they were cooked yesterday. I threw them in the bin, I will never go back there, the food is disgusting. What a waste of money.

Usually good food and service from Farries, disappointed as had to chase order. When it did arrive the burger was bearly warm, and not the best quality. The chips were also at most luke warm, stuck to the paper, soft and pale. Apparently the "bad weather" or rain delayed the order, and only responded the day after.

If we want chip shop, we alway order form here. Even when they had 0 on food criteria, we ordered to support them but since they went back to delivering, it’s usually cold and then to top it off, it was my birthday today so I wanted to order from them but my food was missing. It’s such a shame as they’ve always been so good in the past and I’ve recommended a lot of people to them but unfortunately they have had bad experiences lately. I wouldn’t usually put a comment but as I’ve been calling them over 40+ times (the phone is engaged). I feel better have no choice

Food was over an hour late, rang the restaurant more than twice to be told that it would be leaving in the next 5 minutes twice. on the last occasion was told the driver was stuck in traffic. (We live less than 2 miles away) When food finally arrived the “large” boxes were half empty and all boxes were squashed and food had come out at the sides. And chips were still quite hard.

A few wrong items. Other than that food was alright, delivery was incredibly late.

Always lovely food but majority of the time it’s late so have to warm it up when it gets here. However when it I is occasionally early or on time is it is spot on

Only half of our order was delivered, we rang restaurant to be told remaining items would be sent straight away. After 45 mins phoned again to see where items where when we was told they was only just leaving. By the time the remaining order arrived it was to late and remainder of food had gone cold waiting for the rest

I had the chicken donner meat and chips and it was lush! Much better than anywhere else, I will always get my kebab from here from now on!

Great little shop. Their menu is large and extensive, chips, pies, fish, wraps, and pizzas ... plus more. Great place for a quick bite to eat

Whole Order was stone cold when it arrived. And one of the kebabs were made wrong, meant to be with chips however had no chips, very disappointed.

Well this is by far the worst chip shop I have ever had in my life , curry was literally like water fish was dry and left a horrible taste in my mouth , the whole meal was cold just to top it off apart from the chips they were hot stay clear you will be extremely disappointed

The food is very nice from here but order at risk of not knowing when your food comes because it can take any time from an hour to over 2 hours, also don’t be surprised if they miss something out, all in all great food, terrible delivery times

Late, cold and chips were awful

The food took almost 3 hours and arrived cold. The curry sauce was congealed

Didn’t send the cone of chips I tried to call but the line was very bad ment to have called my mobile back but havnt it was my daughters tea I’m not happy about this as I paid for it

I rang the shop to find out why it was late and found out that one of their drivers had let them down, They apologised for it and I was ok with that and received my food no more more than 5 minutes after that

Multiple items were missing, when I rang to tell them they said they would bring the missing items and we ended up waiting another hour and a half! (With No apology) Food was lukewarm at best. Won’t be ordering from here again - will stick to Gibbos from now on!

waited over 1 and half food.. the delivery drive needs to go to some kind of customer service course and so should the manager or owner first and last time i will order from here..my food was lukewarm and after working came home and fancy a chippy the food wasn’t great either.. very disappointing and i should gone through the reviews.

I ordered a large sausage in batter and only received a small. Once again something missing from the order.

Third delivery I have had, third time very late on delivery keep blaming the driver but it is the shop itself. Last time I had order from here gave me a time. Went to collect it still had to wait over half hour in the shop as they had not even started preparing it. Letting themselves down badly. Despite this gave them excellent reviews but unfortunately not this time. I phoned got a couldn't care less reply saying waiting on driver. Doubt very much whether I will order from here again.
