Excellent service - my favourite chippy! Best chips and very good value. Would recommend :)

Worse fish and chips I've ever had. Chips were over cooked and covered in oil, they actually had a layer of oil on them when we got home. Fish was overcooked, batter was tasteless and stuck to the paper as it was soggy. Would never recommend and will not be returning.

Today was my first time eating in harbour fish bar, and I am so glad that I did! These were the best chips that I have ever had! Definitely my new favourite chippy! Staff were very friendly and the sitting area is good! Very happy will definitely be returning, can’t recommend enough! Thank you x

Great food, lovely portions, the fish is the best in Newport, in my opinion. Staff always welcoming and friendly.

We drive half way across Newport to come here past other chippies much nearer. It's all absolutely delicious with cod that was cooked perfectly. The smell wafting outside was what first enticed me in! A review of another Newport chippy referred to "crunchy chips" but they sounded awful and overcooked. Harbour's chips are golden brown but soft, tasty and cooked perfectly. Very tasty curry sauce. A lovely treat now and again.

Food was really good, however twice I've been the last 3 weeks and all they do is seem to moan when people pay on card. Both of the women behind the till always give digs if you pay on card and make you feel really awkward. So don’t go there unless you got cash

One of the best chip shops I've used. Cod & chips is our regular order. Huge portions, freshly cooked. The premises are very clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It's usually busy which I always think is a good sign.

Lovely fish and chip shop. Myself and husband had the haddock and my boys had the cod. The food was fresh, cooked to perfection and delicious. The portions were huge. Every time we have been there the food has been great. The lady owner is lovely, polite and friendly. I wish it was my local chippy!

We had a socially distanced get together yesterday outside our flats. Blue Oyster delivered our pre ordered fish/chicken and chips. They were really good, hot, nice fish, not all batter. They will be our go to for our next one.

Sent my son for gravey and chips,the chips are half cooked and the gravey has some sort of white gloupy lumps and not a few it's full of whatever it is,total waste of money and not the 1st time,had bad food a few weeks ago but gave them a chance but it's now even worse wont be going back to waste even more money

First fish and chips since lockdown release.Fish dry,batter soggy and smelled bad. Chips hard and dry and it cost £12 for two of us.

Live locally twice now been given dried gone off pasty plus yesterdays sausage and batter. This owner only cares about the profit not the customer. The owners before her built up a good business,unfortunately its gone down hill fast now that she owns it. Food is terrible wouldn't recommend it at all. If I could give no stars I would!!

The best chip shop in Newport. Has the most amazing pea fritters and the chips are cooked to perfection. They aren't greasy or feel oily. They are soft yet crispy. The staff are welcoming and the place is super clean. I love this place x

was shocking after asking bout the score on the door and how it's gone down was told by what I think is the owner a very arrogant Chinese lady it's nothing to do with me and it's being sorted staff were dirty and unkempt surfaces covered in grime just looks a mess won't be buying from here again

In my opinion the best fish and chip shop I have I ever visited. The staff are polite and are always diligent with orders and quick to serve soon after the order. The food is more than reasonably priced where the food is at the highest quality, especially their trademark fish and chips.

Living in Cardiff North i have various so called award winning fish bars at my disposal - none of them compare to a good day here; the chips with some irish curry are second to none.

Wow! My family has been a regular customer since this shop opened. I'm unsure what position the older Asian lady holds in this shop but she is either bone idle or just obnoxious! It's a Saturday afternoon at 12.40 pm and the door is open and lights on but shutter down so I ask her through the shutter when they are opening. Bearing in mind it's raining hard and blowing a gale and they should have been open nearly an hour ago... The response was a glare and in 15 or 20 mind. Clearly thus shop doesn't need regular customers any longer cos I for 1 will not be buying for my large family in there again!

possibly the best chip shop i have been to in a while. the staff are extremely polite, cheerful and professional. since the grease monkey chavs have left the building i would recommend this chippy to all i know. and further more they no longer have anemic sausages!!!!!!! and what a handsome looking chef. girls its worth a look!!!!

Exeptionally rude staff. Chips were horrible and the staff give people dirty looks as they leave the shop. The shop is defiantly in need of a staff change.

We have been attending and eating from this chip shop since it opened as it is local to us. About 8 months ago we bought a chicken pie for my daughter and when she eat a mouthful it was awful she said... so i tried it and it was clearly off. We returned it to the shop and it was swapped.... giving them the benefit of the doubt we continued to use the shop... until tonight!! The exact same thing happened and my 12 year old daughter took back the 2 chicken pies that were clearly off again.. what she got in return was abuse from the staff and the very rude old lady that sits in the shop daily because she has nothing else to do! Also if you go in for chips early tea time the chips are vile.. tastes like they have been left over from lunch and re-fried. We will never be returning to this chip shop again!

probably the worst fish & chips I have ever had, soggy fish and what looked and tasted like yesterdays chips. Woman behind counter was exceptionally rude to the very polite and courteous gentleman in front of me, sneering as he asked for slightly more salt and vinegar and no manners whatsoever. change in staff and food place would be a winner!
