That new worker Scott is absolutely fantastic! I come in here every Wednesday night and I have never had my food prepared so quickly with the standard of it so good, all I can say is exquisite! He was so polite aswell he made me feel like one of his friends from the moment I walked through the door, very welcoming.

I’ve worked in hospitality many years myself and I understand people have bad days in work but every time I have ordered or gone inside this subway, it has been really disappointing. The online orders consistently have items missing, the steak and cheese salad came without cheese but had food in there that was not ordered, my partner is allergic to peppers so luckily it was seen before eaten. We were given the wrong side orders, and the portion sizes were less than half. Inside the staff are so blunt, staff will roll their eyes if you ask for too much on an order, I ordered food with my partner to sit in and we were both shouted at for going to sit down and told to leave at 2pm in the empty shop. Again they laughed at us leaving, the tables, chairs and floor were so dirty it was horrendous. The interactions with all staff in that subway is so unprofessional it’s a shame.

Store closes at 21:30pm but the staff start prepping to leave at 8pm. I visited this store with a few friends at 8pm. There were two staff members working. When I went to order my sub I was told "we are closing soon." It was around 8:15pm. I asked what time they were closing (thinking google opening times were incorrect, or they must be closing early), and the girl replied saying 21:30pm (1hr and 15mins to go). They were already getting ready to leave, putting everything in the fridge and treating customers like a huge inconvenience. No manners, just pure distain for the job role. I get it. Customer service is a tough gig! But just incase you didn't know, your store closes at 21:30pm. That's when you stop serving customers. I've worked plenty of fast food jobs to know that you need to stay after closing to clean everything down. If you have time during your shift to get started on this, great! But during Opening times your priority should be serving customers. If you want to get home earlier maybe chat to your area manager and alter opening times, or find another job. Dear subway, I can't add a response to your reply so I'll add it here. When in this review did I say this scenario happened last night?? This is a review from visiting your store a few weeks back.

My Saturday lunch venue after shopping, love the Great Caesar - I order it everytime I visit a Subway. I use 3 different locations but mostly Malpas Road & North Walk Cwmbran. Used accumulated points for my sub today so only paid £1 59 for a cup drink. On Thursday 26th I lunched @ North Walk Cwmbran - 6" Great Caesar on Honey Oat (£4 79) 16oz Fountain drink (£1 39) totalling £6 18 At Malpas Road Newport the SAME sub is £5 99 & the SAME drink is £1 59 totalling £7 58. I have eaten in on both occasions but fail to understand why the prices differ. Doint the "1 minute survey" at the bttm of my receipt gave no answers as my query could not be loaded. Just wondering if anyone else has found different prices in other locations UPDATE - Different "franchises" is the reason (though I'm not sure what that means) Visited my local Subway @ Malpas Road yesterday (staff are always friendly & chatty) Ongoing offer from Subway until 20th February is doing "a roaring trade". Buy a Footlong Sub for £4 99 offer on app until 20th February - now cheaper than a 6" sub!! Decided to change from my normal Great Caesar Sub & tried a NOTORIOUS B.M.T - WOW, i'm hooked, no more Caesars for me. Ham, Pepperoni, Salami, Cucumber! red Onion & Chipotle Southwest Sauce. LOVED IT!! it was so very tasty, the Chipotle sauce compliments the Sub - definitely worth trying. 10/10 from me

This is the very first instance of finding a favourite node within the same franchise partner restaurant chain. The level of customer obsession is the absolute example to be followed by every single restaurant or even all the catering units. Fast, perfect in quality and portion. First time i've been to this subway, theres not many that tickle my pickle (lol) but this ones does. First phoned to check they had the plant based patty as the previous store i tried did not, they were very accomodating. Arrived to quick and friendly service by all, especially the manager (i assume). Food was decent and was prepared to a high standard with generous toppings rather than the meagre offerings you get some places. Overall this is my new favourite subway and ill definitely visit again. Good food, good staff. 👍

My recent experience with Subway can only be described as an absolute disaster. From missing items to a complete lack of customer service, this establishment has demonstrated a shocking level of incompetence and disregard for their customers' satisfaction. Prepare yourself for a scathing account of my experience that will leave you questioning whether you should ever order from Subway again. To begin with, not one but three items were missing from my order. It's understandable that places can occasionally run out of certain items, but the complete absence of these items was a clear sign of poor management and organisation. I would have been willing to overlook this oversight had it not been for the subsequent series of failures that unfolded. As if missing items weren't bad enough, the salad I requested was inexplicably swapped, admittedly there was a hand written note stapled to the delivery bag apologising, saying they had tried to call me and swapped the salad, and the rest of the missing items weren’t there. But the worst part of this whole ordeal was the abysmal customer service I experienced when I called the store to address these issues. I initially called to inquire about how I request a refund for the missing items and to my surprise, I was met with a dismissive response. The employee on the other end of the line informed me that I would have to go through Just Eat, leaving me to deal with the hassle of rectifying Subway's mistakes through a third party. When I proceeded to explain the additional problems with my order, I was met with indifference and a complete lack of empathy. The employee responded with a casual, "Yeah, we don't have any" when I mentioned the absence of ketchup for the cold cheesy bites I received. Instead of taking responsibility for the unsatisfactory food, they resorted to discussing the matter openly with others in the background, further highlighting their unprofessional behavior. To add insult to injury, when I voiced my dissatisfaction with the appalling customer service, the employee had the audacity to laugh at me before abruptly hanging up the phone. This level of disrespect and insolence is simply inexcusable and highlights the complete lack of training, professionalism, and basic human decency within the establishment. In conclusion, my experience at Subway was nothing short of a nightmare. From missing items to the callous treatment I received when I attempted to address the issues, this visit left me feeling utterly disappointed and disrespected as a customer. I implore anyone considering dining at Subway to think twice and choose an establishment that values its customers and takes pride in providing quality service. Subway has clearly lost sight of what it means to prioritise customer satisfaction, and until they rectify these severe deficiencies, I cannot recommend anyone subject themselves to such a deplorable experience.

Brilliant Subway restaurant. Always freshly stocked. As with all Subway restaurants prices are pretty standard. Service is always quick and staff always happy to make your sub to your specifications e.g. amounts of sauce, salad etc. Located very well, around 2 minutes off junction 26 of the M4. Parking just outside the restaurant is always available, but there are newly painted yellow lines which they have recently started sending out penalty charge notices for parking on.

Went to subway malpas road . They forgot the cookie . Not good when you gave a 5yr old who was looking forward to it. Lots of traffic so couldn't turn back . Tried to call can't get through . Had to tell them also about the sause on there gloves handling the cheese as my son would freak if there was anything else on there . Should of used clean gloves . !! Tried to contact on line but needed a recent and we didn't have one there's a surprise. 🤔 service at this place wasn't the best

It was my misfortune to visit the Malpas Rd branch of ‘subway’ in Newport today, 15th January 2014, where I was surprised by the level of service given by your ‘staff’ members. I can only assume that your training for new employees encompasses the following: 1. How to ignore customers when they say good morning. 2. To remember that fiddling with paperwork is much more important than serving customers. 3. When serving always remember to look as if someone has recently robbed you of your last sausage. 4. If someone wants a breakfast sub always, always, always launch the egg into the microwave with as much velocity as possible, this adds to the flavour. 5. If you become bored with serving, pass the customer to your overworked colleague to finish the job. 6. Never say thank you, customers will never appreciate it when you say thank you. Remember to be ‘sub – standard’ Sadly this well trained individual wasn’t wearing a name badge so you’ll be unable to congratulate the gentleman in person for his adherence to the training manual on customer service. Although he may be identified by his pants, clearly visible from behind, which said ‘opti’ on them? I assume the rest of the wording will not be ‘optimistic and helpful subway employee’ As we ate our lacklustre subs and created a full cup of coffee from the two half cups provided, he continued to complete his paperwork on the food preparation area (is this allowed?) whilst sucking on his biro. It is possible that the gentleman could be further identified by blue staining to the mouth area due to the enthusiasm of his sucking. If only that level of effort could be channelled into some sort of enthusiasm for his job. Please thank Olivia for at least trying to look cheerful whilst being subjected to working with this retail professional.

Tried the breakfast meal on special offer £2, { I usaly eat oats -bran with Fresh fruit &Mixed liquidiesed juice} This is One of App 10+ on an offer posted to home with good date on cuppons last around 8 wks to about 11November ?] that's unusual thees offers usually are a 1/4 of that duration (WELL DONE SUBWAY) and only available in Wales?? A far better DIET than a so called greasy spoon fat ridden FULL ENGLISH. TOWN NEXT 2 test the 12inch on offer

Took me five years to find (it was hidden behind a wall and some houses until they were knocked down recently, and even signposted and getting directions I'm not the best at finding things), but it was well worth the wait. The service was excellent, all the staff friendly, and the food is lovely. The batter light and crisp, and best of all it's affordable. I highly recommend this little local chippy and will definitely be coming back - now I know where it is.
