Really good food, lots to choose from and very pleasant staff, definitely recommend.

Bad experience on arrival; had to wait for seven minutes to be seated despite virtually no one being in the pub. My wife has bad mobility and this service can only be described as totally AWFUL We had the main courses for under £8 (£7.99) Service was slow and unfriendly. Food was OK. DO NOT BOTHER, they don't actually care if you are there or NOT😂

Good offer 2 courses for £20 including drink but you had to ask for it (despite it being widely advertised) and the service was really slow.

Beware when u order a soft drink as they will automatically charge u for a bottomless drink without asking u. When I questioned this when we had the bill I was told it is something they always do. Not impressed at all

I've been here for the 'all you can eat' breakfast a few times now and have not been disappointed yet. The food is tasty, the service is fast and the staff are friendly. Continental breakfast and drinks are included in the price too!!. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves a cooked breakfast.

Food was good, very good value, well cooked steak. Prawns don't really taste of much, but overall we enjoyed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, there just weren't enough of them... reflective of the management not the front of house staff. Left waiting by the door to be seated for a while, and subsequently at the table... but the waiting staff were on the go constantly. Enjoyed, and would return.

A huge thank you to the welcoming staff this morning. I have to mention Mikey who always remembers my love for mushrooms and is willing to cook me extra if needed. We hope to visit sooner next time.

We came here for breakfast and the food was outstanding. Mikey was about making sure the food was fresh, absolutely amazing service as always!

If only the food was as good as the service. Beefeater used to be a real treat for lovely food but alas no more. Poor quality food in small portions.

It was extremely busy when we came but you wouldn’t no with the level of customer service we received from Jenny I’m a fussy eater and asked for something she accommodated all of my needs with pure attentiveness a special thank you to her.

Staff were welcoming for my Father's 80th birthday. Food order was slow in coming, albeit we were on a table of 13. Haloumi fries, contained next to no Haloumi, and were fried to an inch of their life. The chargrilled Salmon I had was overcooked and dry. Not a good culinary experience at all. I doubt I will revisit

The food was terrible.. only had one bite.. The chicken tasted as if it was rotten.. Then informed the staff that i wasn't happy to eat the dish.. They did nothing.. They even tried to charge for it.. would not recommend and will never be back in that establishment..

The food was terrible even for Beefeater! The staff didn't seem to care when we complained that the chicken wings were off and unedible. Would rather of gon to the McDonald's across the road.

We had food in the Bar area, which is our preference. Staff were lovely,food delicious. We had money off voucher which made it even better.

When staying at the adjacent Premier Inn next door for an event at the neighbouring ICC, myself and a group visited this Beefeater for Dinner and then Breakfast the following day. This was pre-booked, and we opted for the 'meal deal'. This is a good choice for value! There are few options nearby for food and we were very restricted for time, meaning we could not travel far from the area, so settled for this convenient option. When arriving for our meals, the tables were dirty each time. For breakfast this was especially concerning as we were the first arrivals of the day. The crockery was similarly blemished and gritty, with food sticking to some of the plates. It seems like there was an issue with their pot wash. The food was mediocre, lukewarm, and not presented particularly well. The mushroom starter was sitting in a pool of grease, and the breakfast buffet items were suffering and drying out at the hot-plate. The bread at breakfast had clearly been sitting out for a long time uncovered as it was totally dried out! Our waitress was inexperienced and found serving us challenging - she was unaware of the 'meal deal' information, clearly didn't know the menu, and then when serving our order her t-shirt was dangling into dishes, which is not only pretty gross, but also knocked food off the plates and onto the floor, meaning we had to ask for a replacement item. Our food took an extremely long time to arrive. Our table was booked for 4pm and we did not leave until almost 6:30pm! Not so much cheap and cheerful as mediocre and disappointing.

We had Sunday lunch which was very tasty.

Cooked breakfast a little bit too greasy for me, however a great breakfast with great selection of food... Staff friendly, polite, and helpful... I will definitely return...

A run of the mill lunch, nothing special. Slow service but staff were great. Food was about average for a Sunday lunch. "Staple" meats and veg, of smaller quantities.

We had breakfast here the morning after a friends wedding. The food was cooked really nicely and the selection was really good too. The staff seated us quickly, were really friendly and polite and best of all the meals and drinks were really well priced!

Jen was fantastic and really looked after our large table. Great service well done and thank you.

The food was amazing. I really enjoyed it. The front of house staff, however, seemed all too happy to stand around talking as a big group whilst tables we're left waiting for service. When I tried waving someone down for a napkin, every single one (expect for one) ignored me and others who tried. I felt sorry for the lady left to do all the work on her own whilst the others stood and did nothing whilst there was clearly stuff to be doing.

Lovely food. Had surf and turf with extra onion rings. Can't fault it. Staff were lovely and service was quick. Clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.

Myself and my husband decided to treat ourselves went to the beefeater at the coldra we were greeted lovely by the staff were taken to our table we looked at the menu mostly everything was bbq sauce based we both do not like bbq sauce but there wasn’t a gd selection of sauce I have never know garlic mushrooms to be sevrved with bbq sauce and the smothered chicken felt very disappointed we didn’t stay for any food I feel our choice of sauce is taken from us and it shouldn’t be this way please give back our garlic sauce it’s our choice felt very disappointed spoiled our evening out

Friendly staff, place looks a little grubby and in need of an uplift, whenever somebody moved in the neighbouring booth our booth seat moved too. Food was average, nachos looked a little sad. Child's menus choice really good 3 courses for 6.99 the child's main meal as pictured could have done with a few more chips and the veggie sticks side didn't seem the freshest. No complaints with the other meals although I must say rather pricey, had we not had a 40% off voucher we wouldn't have dined there. The bill for a family of 4 3 adult meals 1 child 3 refillables would have been over £100, with our voucher it come to roughly £50. Pretty avarage overall.

Had a lovely meal, as usual. Been coming here for many years. Then noticed a 99p for BBQ sauce. At no point was this mentioned to us when we ordered. It's in the menu small print apparently. I said that should have been pointed out when we ordered. Not a lot of money of course, but the principle. Then I said what if I refuse to pay the 99p, the female manager said she'd call the police. How about the customer is always right, we won't charge this time, etc. but no, we'll call the police. So in short, we won't be returning. What a shame. Very poorly dealt with.

Extremely Disappointed with the service and the food, missing my side of onions rings and having to ask twice for a refill, very unprofessional having to speak up to get the servers attention food is going cold waiting. Overall breakfast and evening meals poor. Beefeater with the world's smallest sausage for breakfast and poor beef burgers. Re training needed in house for this restaurant.

Stopped by on the way home, Brilliant and quick service, Fillet steak was excellent and a chocolate brownie to finish it off.

I came for lunch on the 30th Agust 2024. I had to wait 10 minutes before someone appeared at the reception to give me a table. The excuse was she has just started and was doing an handover. Once seated I ordered my food. I asked for a blue steak. I received a medium rare steak. The manager argue with me that it is the law. I have been a beefeater customer for over 10 years. I known for a fact that it is one of the only chain of restaurants where I can enjoyed a delicious steak cooked as I want. So after telling her that at worst case it should be cooked rare. Finally a blue steak was served. I did enjoyed it a lot. Also the Beefeater Coldra is one of the worst looking Beefeater I have been into. The carpet is dirty. Often you see dirt / food on the floor. The dinning bench was damaged. I used to eat every week in a beefeater but as my closest one is the Coldra. I am only want to go there yo fullfill my craving of a good steak. It is not a beefeater I will recommend and I suggest the higher management to retrain their staff or to inspect it. Ref: Chk 4855 tbl 23/1

Went there for my nans birthday, they made us feel so welcomed! Our waiter Riley was patient and professional, and made sure we got our food quickly, which was top quality! Can't reccomend enough

Had steak and chips today. Food was tasty. Service was good. Friendly staff.

It felt a little dirty and tired, breakfast wasn't the best. Poached eggs overcooked and the coffee machine was broken. But no sign. Service was friendly. At the point of payment I had to go looking for a member of staff. Not the same as before which is a shame.

The hotel is a very nice hotel and we would recommend it. We booked at the last minute, so we're very pleased to get a nice room. It did not face the garden but we were pleased to have a nice big room, which was primarily for the disabled. The staff were very friendly and polite! The breakfast is very good with lots of selection. We had dinner at the The Rib Smokehouse and Grill and the waitress was friendly and helpful. I was disappointed with my starter, the Calamari were the worst I have ever eaten. Thin chewy Calamari and in thick batter! The 8 very small Calamari were on a thin layer of sauce with No garnish. The ribs were good and we would recommend it. The treacle tart was fridge cold and tasteless!! It would have been better if it had been warm. We were disappointed with the starter and dessert and would not choose them again. We would however have the ribs. We would definitely stay at Coldra Court again as we did enjoy staying here.

Great meal good value for money

Not bad all told, service a little slow but ghat happens. Food was basic as expected but ridiculously small portions. 3 from out table ordered steaks and 3 left them saying they were very chewy. On the whole it was an ok meal but the noticeable small portions did leave a lot to be desired.

A decent fillet steak and nice beer garden. Nothing fancy, but a nice enough place to enjoy the company of friends!

I recently dined at Beefeater Newport and had the pleasure of being served by Rebecca. Her service was outstanding and truly elevated our dining experience. Rebecca was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations that suited our tastes perfectly. From the moment we were seated, Rebecca made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. She checked in on us regularly without being intrusive, ensuring our drinks were topped up and our needs were met promptly. Her cheerful demeanor and genuine enthusiasm made the evening even more enjoyable. The food at Beefeater Newport was delicious, but it was Rebecca's impeccable service that stood out the most. She managed to strike the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, making us feel like valued guests. Overall, Rebecca's excellent service was a key factor in making our visit to Beefeater Newport a memorable one. Highly recommended!

A family meal to celebrate a birthday. The staff are friendly and the food was delicious. I recommend the beef and ale pie. A good atmosphere and very busy venue but online booking system meant we had a spacious table.

The food was the usual great standard as in other Beefeater restaurants, service slightly slow and although correct, not spotless clean, probably end of a busy day...

We were very disappointed with our meal which was full of grease, not enough staff and found the restaurant not clean. We chose the restaurant as we attended here about two years ago and the place was completely different as far as the food, staff and cleanliness was concerned it was much better. We were going to have a second evening at the Beefeater but decided because it was such a bad experience we had a McDonalds instead. We will not be attending this restaurant again

Went for a late Sunday lunch, lamb roast. Food was delicious and well cooked. My friend had a salad with prawn cocktail and extra cocktail sauce which she loved.

Good in general, portion sizes vary though. My fries were smaller compared to others in my party. We had to ask for our refill drinks to be refilled as opposed to the server asking us. It's the little things.

Probably the worst fish and chips I have ever had. The batter was rubbery and unpleasant. So I did not eat the batter. The garden peas were not good, so I did not eat those either.

5.99 for 1/2 packet of doritos wirh no flavour cheese. You're having a laugh

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door and Booked for Breakfast and a Dinner, the breakfast was excellent, well cooked and very tasty with a great selection of cooked items plus a continental selection. The dinner was also cooked really well with the usual selection from their menu, the place was packed due to the Conference centre nearby, but the staff were super friendly and helpful and we got our food hot and in good time. The beer garden was lovely and good to relax in. Well done.

Great breakfast after a stay in an adjoining Travelodge. Wonderful staff especially Mikey. Parking overnight our car became covered in bird poo. When Mikey saw that we were cleaning it off he came to our assistance and had my partner Meg drive the car to the side kitchen services area where there is a hosepipe. He led by helping to clean off all the bird poo. A very kind person, thank you Mikey we think you deserve a loud call out, "you certainly are a gentleman". If you know what Beafeaters are all about, then there will be no shocks here! Foods ok, staff were friendly and attentive and the decor fine. Was fine for a family of four as a pit stop on the way home!

On first impression I was very disappointed at the cleanliness of the restaurant and the toilets were disgusting. But on reflection they were extremely busy as it was Easter Sunday so very understandable. Overall the food was delicious and the service was very good.

Arrive early evening, being a Sunday it wasn’t particularly busy, server took our drinks order straight away but it took another 15 mins for them to arrive! The chicken dish I wanted was sold out so I quickly with the server looking directly at me chose another dish. Surly tho anything on the menu that was not available they should have told us as they handed us the menu on arrival, they are quick enough to ask about allergies!! Anyhow I just choose the same as my friend as it was easier -the chicken, ribs and the homemade chips all very nice,but the sauce was stone cold. Desserts, my friend ordered her favourite apple pie n ice cream, as you can see on the photos what turned up looked like a stew, the server was questioned her reply was it goes like that heated in the microwave because it’s gluten free. We never ordered GF mind, so the Apple stew was left on the table - to stew - lol. Price was £5.99 -so not cheap, but they did deduct this off our bill. I ordered my favourite Biscoff sundae, while it looked the bees knees the taste test said differently, the biscuit and cream on top was yummy but the rest wasn’t. It was just ice cream and biscuit broken up. No biscoff sauce!!! Sooo dry. Looking at it I thought Mmmmmm😋 but such a let down…… Hard ice cream and crumbled biscuit, I even lifted the chunk of ice cream to visit the bottom but hmph 😡 no sauce !! Such a disappointment so I left the majority of it. Not cheap either, at £6.99 a pop. Drinks -I asked for a refill with no ice, again this took 10 minutes to arrive- with ice 🤷‍♀️ Will we come back here? I’d say yes as it’s a nice place and very convenient for the icc wales venue, but next time ill be asking for what’s not available on the menu and ill make sure my biscoff sundae is smothered in biscoff sauce!!

Went there for Mother's Day Mill was very nice

Food was amazing. extra crispy chicken wings to start with calamari and breaded mushrooms cooked very well, crispy but not burnt and the mushrooms were still soft inside. Then Fillet steak. Not an amazing cut but so tender and cooked perfectly that I can't fault it. Went for triple cooked chips and peppercorn sauce cuz of tradition. Only 3 for atmosphere cuz it's very plain and safe. This doesn't ruin the food though and the service was bang on. staff were great, polite and friendly.

Greeted and seated, we were asked if we had any allergies straight away and given the non gluten containing ingredients menu before sitting. Drinks order taken promptly, and orders taken about 5 mins later. Food arrived after about 15 mins, was hot and tasty, portions on the smaller side though. Some decent vegan options and a decent amount of gf options too. Kids 3 course meal for £6.99 a good bargain.

Pestered what seemed like every ten minutes asking if everything was ok.

Staff are excellent 5 stars. Not had a bad experience with the hospitality team from the management too the dinning experience team.

Go for breakfast always freshly cooked and great value for money

Not great from start to finish. We were greeted and taken to the table. that bit was fine, after that it went all down hill. Between waiting 20 minutes to have a drink order taken for 2 of us. The 90 minutes it took to have starters and mains brought to us. The 30 minute wait on water for the table to go with our food which turned up after we finished eating and the staff just generally not having enough time to effectively cater to their customers, it was not a good experience. I have some sympathy for the staff on site on the day being short staffed but if we had been informed of this on arrival it would have set expectations. The batter on my fish was extremely soggy and the chips were leaking oil. Food was being left on the hot plate for far too long and salad was even warm. I was thoroughly disappointed.

Amazing great food Brill atmosphere

Very tatty seats. Leatherette ripped carpets bitty. Dishes had food on the bottom on several, and some food stuck on top. All you can eat breakfast/drinks ran out of orange juice and apple juice, coffee machine ran out of milk. Won't be going back again

First visit. Booked a table for dinner for myself, partner and granddaughter. I booked on line and left a note to say we would be bringing my granddaughter Tillie who would be celebrating her 11th birthday. When we arrived there was a birthday banner, card and a present on the table for Tilly which she loved and put a big smile on her face. We were served by the lovely Jenny who went above and beyond to make our evening a rememberable one. When Tillies desert arrived it had been decorated with candles and jenny arrived singing. I cannot thank you all enough for making this a very special night for Tilly x
