They are ok and not bad. It taste too spicy and they are also greasy and oily

Food is good however they will try to overcharge/incorrectly charge you with everything they can. Watch out... 1 of the order takers can be a bit blunt at times. It is quite expensive for junk food.

Chicken was uncooked and way too salty. Honestly disgusting quality. Would never order from here again, I don’t wanna catch food poisoning.

They overcharged me for a tiny slice of cheese by 70p! which is ridiculous! Especially considering there are cheaper and better quality fast food places in the area who don't overcharge for an add on. The staff are nice. Its just the managers son who is money hungry. Avoid this place like the plague!

"I had a bad experience with the customer service at this chickencottage. They have a policy where they don't accept card payments of less than £5, but they didn't display this information on the floor. Instead of explaining the policy, they made silly offers like 8 chicken wings for £5. Moreover, they don't offer scouse for takeaway, and they charge extra for it. The service was also very rough.

I think this is genuinely the first chicken shop that hasn’t made me feel ill after eating (I thought that was impossible) Food IS pricier than the average place but I genuinely believe you get what you pay for because the quality is immaculate. Food is fresh and tasty, and LOOKS good, too. The perfect meal after a 4 hour study session at the library. Please can other chicken shops follow in your example I don’t wanna gamble with my life every time I buy a box of wings 🙏🏼

ordered this on deliveroo, took 20 minutes to come. food came fresh. the chips were crispy and didn’t even need dip to help with the taste, the leg piece was 10/10, the wings had the perfect breading and spice levels, the fillet in the burger was flavourful unlike a lot of chicken shops. this is a top tier chicken shop right here

Horrible place! Horrible food they should be banned from Uber eats platforms! Just had a burger meal and two wings Chips were like sand and the burger completely no taste and felt like the food was cooked with dirty hands! HORRIBLE EVERYTHING NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE IM NOT GOING TO ORDER AGAIN FROM THERE!

prices have become silly now for what is. cheap fast food. want cheese ? extra 50p, peri salt ? extra 50p. There is nothing here that warrants £10 for a fried burger meal.

Stooped for a well needed bite to eat on Saturday night. I went for the Gourmet chicken burger meal and my friend had the spicy mountain burger meal. It was busy when we arrived with all 3 tables occupied so we asked for takeaway. They cooked our food fresh and by the time it was ready which was the expected 4 or 5 minutes the tables were clear so we ate in. The food was excellent, moist, tasty, not fatty and loads of fries. My friend enjoyed his food and the burger had just the right amount of spice so about 7 out of 10 knowing him 😀 The prices were very reasonable. Both in the region of £6.50 to £7.50. Will go there again next time we go to the George in Woodford opposite.

I was buying a meal for £7 was told If I pay cash it would be £1.50 extra in this day and age what place does this anymore very cheap and distasteful.

Absolute disgrace I go in there ask for food they prices are more then kfc but I thought doesn’t matter as long as food is good . Went to order they mighty big box which is £8 they guy said u what cheese in burger and peri peri salt on chips I said yes . When it came to paying he said £9 I said why they said 50p for salt and 50p for cheese I said u never told me before . I told him look at the price his charging he just shrugged his shoulders. Any way I took my card to make payment and the guy then goes Cash only or minimum order £10 . Absolutely a joke not only they want ti charge stupid price for an average chicken. Shop they want to avoid paying taxes and rinse the customers out . Absolutely disgraceful avoid at all costs !!

This place gave me and the family bad food poisoning. Staff are not trained and hygiene levels are shocking. Also cash only in 2023! Hmrc need to carry out investigation.. will be happening soon hopefully

I had an absolutely awful experience during my recent visit to Chicken Cottage. The staff manager was using foul language and even went so far as to throw money at me, making me feel incredibly uncomfortable and threatened. I cannot stress enough how much I would not recommend this establishment's service. The behavior of the staff and manager was completely unacceptable and left me feeling shaken and disgusted. Save yourself the trouble and avoid Chicken Cottage at all costs. I wish I could give zero stars but there is not an option for that.

Owner/ guy that takes order is incredibly rude. Very aggressive to customers. I would highly avoid this place. Really shocked at the customer service standards at this Chicken Cottage.

Awful customer service. As other reviews have stated owner likes to rip of customers by giving the incorrect change. Avoid at all costs. Also they take cash only (its 2022!) they are clearly tax avoiding.. stay away!!!

Tasty and satisfying food, but the staff (especially over the phone) can sound quite rude. A more friendly tone can make all the difference.

Wings are really nice but two stars due to one of the staff members was really aggressive to me front of other customers, which was really embarrassing. I just asked for one more sauce, he shouted at me and pointed at the wall look one sauce per meal..I just asked for one more sauce never said I wanted to take it for free I would’ve paid. The brother lost it. I believe his Ambala Ruby’s son. He needs to fix up on a serious level. Others have complained about him too. This “clown acting” from him needs to stop. The other members of the staff are really friendly.

I don't normally like fried food, bit the flavour and quality is just fabulous. There strap line says "All about the taste" and it shore is good. The staff are friendly and helpful especially the night manager, a really nice bloke. Take cash, they don't take cards.

High quality service and food. Despite moving to Loughton, we still order from here, either food to be delivered or we pick up the food from here. Burgers and spicy wings are loved by all the family. It’s great that I have the choice for healthier option like the plain grilled chicken. The other flavours of grilled chicken are nice too. The chicken wraps are also loved by my son. No one else does chips like them. Very delicious. It’s a nice treat when I don’t feel like cooking.

Used to be decent wings but lately they have put the prices up and changed the wing pieces to mostly the flat wishbone ones. So you get less for your money. Would not recommend this place. Go to Morleys

I wish I could prepare and make chips like they do, very crispy yo perfection, chicken wings, perfect, chicken burger perfect. Everything is tasty and fills that gap. Not easy to park.

Freshly fried chicken. Always a tasty treat. Love the mayonnaise they use and their peri powder on the chips is on a different level.

Not all chicken cottage franchises are the same...this is the best and most hygienic (cleanest) chicken cottage branch I have encountered.

I really love grilled chicken with lemon and herbs... this place cooks it till perfection. Recommend . Im absolutely happy its not card payments there. 👌🏻

This establishment is the textbook example of how a Chicken Shop should be. Sure it’s on the pricey side compared to your bog standard Chicken Shop (quality over quantity right?) but what you get here is Tasty food that is fresh and of a high quality. Also worth noting is their standard of hygiene is kept high, this is noticeable as soon as you step into the shop. Our family favourite! Worth mentioning that they only accept cash, no card/contactless. There is a HSBC and Sainsbury’s a minute walk away for your disposal to solve this issue but considering the times we live in, paying using all payment methods should be standard by now. Because of this, 4 out of 5 stars.

Was a regular customer, but standards have slipped, so I now go elsewhere. One member of staff has an attitude and swears under his breath or shakes his head if you don't upgrade to large.

Chicken cottage in south woodford, is the cleanest chicken place in Redbridge. It is very fresh, and very tasty with kind customer service. You can't ask for better chicken than this. It is the best in Redbridge.

Chicken Cottage has always been my 'local' ever since it opened in the 90s under Farooq and Ansar. My usual is the 1/2 grilled chicken meal, lemon & herb. The fried chicken is awesome. They offer burger and bbq sauce which makes a huge difference. They aren't on Just-Eat and don't need to be, they are worth going into and collecting from. Chip and cob are awesome too.

Bit overpriced, and chicken burger was poor. Tastes like salad cream instead of mayo, and the supposed fillet burger was tiny. Square shaped..more like a chicken steak burger perhaps. I'd eaten at chunky chicken and pizza the very same day which is much better food and cheaper. You also have KFC, avoid this place. Terrible just like the one in Holborn which I presume are same franchise perhaps.

Clean (which is the main thing). Polite staff. Efficient service. Chips are made in small batches so always fresh. Because of this there is usually a little wait for the food.
