Chettle Village Store in North Dorset

We have loved and used this store for some years now. A dog walk followed by one of the delicious pies or a pasty sitting outside on the little green under the trees was heaven. We were thrilled to see the store develop into a bigger enterprise just a few years along the road. It sells a wonderful range of products and the same delicious pies. However, the beautiful setting has gone. Sitting on a grubby bench in a tatty concrete yard is not the same. I really hope that this is just because it’s under development and not the new status quo! We used to come a couple of times a week. We’ve only been twice since Christmas. Keep driving past with our fingers crossed.

Fab pies and pasties with really good coffee. Simply excellent and the perfect stop on a long journey.

Fantastic new site with lots of local goodies, as well as home cooked pies. Plenty of parking and a loo. All good.

What a little gem. Stopped in on way to London. Quaintest little village surrounds it. Try their sausage rolls! One of the better ones we tried in UK. Has everything need.

Epic pies, not so epic price. But worth it

PIES! If I'm in the area I always come for a pie, they are amazing. They've recently built a new shop so loads more parking now.

2023 Great local produce, amazing pies and Fantastic gluten free options. - 2024 a new store, bigger and brighter still the same friendly faces behind the counter and some undercover space to sit and enjoy your purchases. As always welcoming in whatever state you are in ( generally covered head to toe in mud and dripping)

We love it here! Chettle stores has always been an absolute find for local produce, super friendly service and of course the pasties and pies! The new shop is super and we'll definitely be back time again :)

There is now a Wonderful new shop which is a lot bigger and has all the usual delights and even more. Highly recommended.

If you are ever passing Chettle please stop and try the village store. Staff are welcoming and friendly. The selection of goods is brilliant for such a small space. Good luck with the new shop.

Pies are mind blowing, in the event of arriving here after they have sold out of all hot snacks, buy yourself some frozen pies and pasties. I drove 3 hours then cooked mine back home. It made my eyes water it was so good 😂

What a fantastic find. A wonderful little shop off the beaten track. We bought all sorts of things, but the fresh local produce, the olive bread, the pies, sausage rolls and pastries are exceptionally good. How I wish this little shop was near me.

We happened apon this little gem of a shop purely by chance, and what a special, lovely place it is. As chance would have it, we wanted some good quality tasty tomatos, some shallots and some garlic to make our dinner. We saw the sign on the main road; turned off, and lo! Like Brigadoon this wonderful, magical oasis of a store was revealed, and they had exactly what we wanted. I think that it might actually be a magical place.

Great shop and local produce . Lovely friendly staff. Coffee like dishwater a big let down unfortunately. Needs a proper barrista machine with good coffee beans if you charge barrista prices.

Lovely little farm shop selling lots of local products, including some delicious ice cream, a very good variety of jams and some really lovely fresh sandwiches. And a few benches outside to enjoy your purchases in some sun!

Amazing Chicken and Mushroom pie! I had driven past the sign on a few occasions whilst visiting the area and this time so glad I decided to pop in. I regret I did not buy a few to take back to London :( I highly recommend you DO take the turning towards Chettle - & enjoy the pie and the relaxed surroundings rain or shine. Josh, many thanks for making it a memory!

After 3 hours of driving I was looking for somewhere to pull in for the toilet, absolutely nothing on the road between Salisbury and Blandford Forum, until I spotted the sign for this village shop and children’s play area, and importantly a loo! What a find, a fantastic community shop selling lots of lovely things, coffee, deli, lots of alternative and organic stuff. You can even refill your milk bottles! A garden out front and extensive play area across the lane. It seems very popular with the locals. I would highly recommend if passing.

I would describe Chettle as an absolutely ideal village. The village stores sells local produce and amazing pies. A visit here is a must. Fantastic place to stop if you are travelling with children. There is a brilliant kids playground so they can let off steam. Picnic benches to have lunch and lots of good food. It's a must on our travels. 5 stars well deserved go to the whole village and the community here. ❤️

Great village shop well worth a visit. Good for healthy foods Handy for nearby Jubilee Trail walking route. Outside picnic tables for snacks bought from the shop.

Excellent I had a lovely gluten free steak and ale pie .

Really nice coffee on sale here along with pies and sweet things to nibble on. The road to get there is a single track but it's worth it for the coffee. There are benches outside to sit in and a kids playground across the road.

Wonderful little shop with the most amazing vegan pasties!

Incredible little store that we found on the off chance whilst touring in our Camper. Fantastic selection of local produce, hot pasties and pies, and hot coffees to take away. Great for a pit stop or to stock up on essentials, most of which are Eco Friendly. Outside seating too, which is a great addition. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

We just drove by, and had a cup of koffee, and tea. bought some limonade, an sausageroll en a pie. We had great fun about the luxury toilet outsite! and had a reale good time there!.

Door puur toeval kwamen langs een bord langs de weg, waarop deze winkel was aangegeven. Het is een klein winkeltje, waarin heel veel te koop is, en je wordt erg vriendelijk geholpen. We kochten er alleen koffie, Cola, en een Pie en sausage roll. We moesten erg lachen om het buiten toilet. Heel veel succes dames, we hebben erg genoten van deze korte tussenstop!! Veel groepen van twee duchies!!

A lovely little village shop,amazing local meats and cider ,friendly locals

Living around 20 miles from Chettle, we drive by around 10 or so times a year for the last 15 years but never popped in. Well today broke that stigma. It was a lovely village store,not too expensive and the local cider was amazing, local pork sausage and the staff were lovely, I was a Salisbury firefighter for 10 years and never knew Chettle was there ,we will be back 😀

A useful small shack shop with meggy moo milk crook and churn cream, cold drinks it's like a health food shop/deli/convenience shop a little bit of everything a bit pricey good eco coffee the freshest pasties, nice surroundings outdoor seating in a pretty village surrounded by nature

Lovely place. Very quaint with quality product. We stop here every time we are passing for coffee, snack, and fresh baked sour dough bread to take home. Pop in if you are passing, but you won't regret it.

My 'local' shop but worth the short drive. Lovely friendly staff, a great selection of groceries and household items including lots of fair trade and ethical brands. I especially love the local produce meat, dairy (local milk on tap) and incredible locally grown vegetables. And their pies and pasties are awesome 👍

We occasionally drop by on our way back to Northamptonshire from visiting family in Milton Abbas. Apart from the unusual offerings of local produce, we have discovered their excellent pies, sold frozen that can be cooked at home. A nice variety and quite delicious! Make a point of carrying a cool bag during our visits.

Fantastic little shop! Something for everyone, from locally sourced produce to cleaning products. Had some delicious sausage rolls and looking forward to trying the famous pies (frozen in this case) we hear so much about!

We have family down in Purbeck so always try and call into the wonderful Chettle Stores on the way there and back home. They have an excellent variety of produce, much of it local and where not ethical. The pies and pasties are fantastic and the staff friendly. There's a children's playground opposite the shop which is great for entertaining little ones. I'm already looking forward to our next pitstop!!

Really lovely shop which seemed to fall away into childhood memories. There was a good selection of foods and other goods a village shop should stock. Also some very good kimchee and sauerkraut. Mum had a pie which she is still talking about and I wasn't very hungry so had some seaweed peanuts.

Loved this Farm Shop. Didn't know there was a hamlet/village in the New Forest called this. Lots of lovely produce and jams, chutneys to buy.

This place is an absolute Aladdin's cave full of wonderful surprises. Quality goods at every turn. Run by people who are committed to good service and willing to try new ventures. As we arrived their first ever batch of hot pastries were coming out of the oven so we had to try some - delicious. There is something for everyone from household essentials to novelty gifts. What an asset to the village and to travellers who are willing to leave the main road for five minutes. Even has a loo!!

Just ate the most delicious pie and drank a very tasty coffee from there. If we are ever this way again, we will definitely pop in for more scrumptious food and drink.

Incredible little store with a wide variety of different products - freshly made food was delicious with a lovely garden area that we could stop off to feed our baby and let our dog have a stroll. Tucked away but very much worth the visit. If we're ever in that neck of the woods again, we will be returning.

Wonderful selection of products and helpful staff make this one of the best village shops I have visited. Organic vegetables and milk refills are some of their green features, plus great recycling. I was camping nearby and got everything I needed here. They also have a loo, and they do teas, coffees and excellent pastries, pies and cakes.

Absolutely brilliant little shop with a huge range of products. They even have a great free-from section with non dairy milks which was very helpful. The pies are worth the hype. They also have gluten free options! The staff are all really friendly and helpful. Do pop in if you're in the area.

After a 20 mile mtb ride this village shop was a gem to fund. The fresh pasties refuelled us beautifully. Definitely worth a visit.

En route home, and looking for somewhere to have a quick coffee break, and noticed the sign on the main road. Pleased we did. A couple of minutes down a country lane, was this nice village store with outdoor seating. Served by a very friendly lady (probably the owner), good coffee and nice eats - wide range of pies and other nibbles. Strongly recommended, would happily call in again.

Pretty,rural spot to pull off your journey for a coffee and a plethora of local produce.basic but functional outside loo,no baby changing or disabled facilities.

On our journey home from Devon and desperately wanting a coffee and a sandwich we found this delightful little shop. They sell fresh veg, and all sorts of provisions, plus lovely pies and pasties! If I had a complaint, it would be that they sold the last steak and potato pasty while I was making up my mind!🙄

I came here after seeing some friends and I think this is the best steak and kidney pie I've ever had.

Great choice of foods and general groceries, nice to get a pie and a cuppa to break the journey up. Seasonal foods available as well as refills for washing liquids etc.
