Chettle Village Store in North Dorset

We regularly buy a selection of your delicious pies, pasties and sausage rolls. The sausage rolls have improved again as the pastry is more flaky and tasty. However the ‘White Star Catering’ sandwiches STILL have no margarine/butter spread on the bread, although the filling has improved and was tasty. Please read the label from the sandwich packet on the photo below.

Great little shop with a huge choice of quality products and lovely pies 😊 I did wonder if I'd missed it as I got further down the lane and whether the car park was the right place as signs ran out off the main road, great for a comfort break, just a shame dogs aren't allowed in the shop.

Very well stocked rural village store, with a huge range of interesting foods, plus basic necessities. Has an amazing barn outside with a variety of seating for al fresco eating.

Fabulous farm shop! Has the most amazing range of products- meats from a local butcher, huge variety of veg and fruit, so many deli items (smoked salmon, trout, pate, cheeses etc) as well as wine, beers, ciders and juices. Even the staples are amazingly varied, including household and pharmaceutical items. To top it off a wonderful coffee and pastries and pie section. The fact that it is open 7 days a week also makes it super flexible - definitely our go to weekly source for virtually everything! Beautiful setting as well- even has some great circular dog walks from the store to burn off those brownies and ice cream!

If you're looking for an abundance of high quality, fresh organic fruit and veg plus a good selection of wholefoods and refills, all reasonably priced, then this is definitely the place to go. In fact it's the only good sized organic farm shop or wholefood store I've found in the Sherborne area so it was well worth the 20 mile round trip. Easy to find, clear signage in the car park, lots of happy helpful staff. Veg delivered Thursday, I went on a Friday, end of October hoping for seasonal apples, pears, squash & potatoes and left with all of those plus cauliflower, greens and oranges too. Great to see Bio D refills also available. Fantastic shop, thank you Chettle Village Stores!

Stopped here randomly during a roadtrip of the UK because we needed to use the toilet and grab a bite to eat, little did we know we were in for some of the best food we'd have on the entire trip. The staff was very friendly, the store has a good variety, and the pastries/coffee were magnificent. You MUST stop here if you're staying nearby or passing through

This is a beautiful little store with just about every food product with some lovely quality local products also.

What a find! Saw the hand painted signs on the main road so took a diversion to visit this store. So pleased that we did. We needed a pitstop and were lucky enough to find this gem. Great pies and local grog! Oh and bits to keep the kids occupied.

We regularly buy the Chettle Pies which are delicious, full of good ingredients. However I was very disappointed with the pre-packaged sandwiches! | bought a White Star Catering Egg mayonnaise and Bacon sandwich which was bland and tasteless! The bacon was streaky and mainly fatty, not enough egg mayonnaise, which was lacking in mayonnaise and very dry. Also NO margarine at all, which is listed on the packaging as one of the ingredients! I would highly recommend that you change your sandwich supplier or just make your own as delicious as your famous pies!

Pasties worth driving for! Just had the Moroccan Lamb. So flavoursome and delicious!

On our way back home from Weymouth to Suffolk we discovered this brilliant store. Didn’t have time for a good look round but we did have a steak pasty each. I can honestly say it was the best pasty I have ever eaten! Wish I lived nearer to stock up!

Great cafe & and stores, although if you get there too late, the pies have all gone. Gravel car park is a bit dodgy for motorcycles, though, and could do with leveling to take out the big ruts.

What a find, tucked away just off the road to Blandford, but well worth repeated visits! Super friendly staff, fab local produce and much much more. Pies, pasties, croissants, cakes, cookies, all freshly baked and great value. Great coffee too, would highly recommend and we will definitely be making detours from now on. Also lots of GF options which is always a bonus.....

Lovely place with fabulous food

We have loved and used this store for some years now. A dog walk followed by one of the delicious pies or a pasty sitting outside on the little green under the trees was heaven. We were thrilled to see the store develop into a bigger enterprise just a few years along the road. It sells a wonderful range of products and the same delicious pies. However, the beautiful setting has gone. Sitting on a grubby bench in a tatty concrete yard is not the same. I really hope that this is just because it’s under development and not the new status quo! We used to come a couple of times a week. We’ve only been twice since Christmas. Keep driving past with our fingers crossed.

PIES! If I'm in the area I always come for a pie, they are amazing. They've recently built a new shop so loads more parking now.

2023 Great local produce, amazing pies and Fantastic gluten free options. - 2024 a new store, bigger and brighter still the same friendly faces behind the counter and some undercover space to sit and enjoy your purchases. As always welcoming in whatever state you are in ( generally covered head to toe in mud and dripping)

We love it here! Chettle stores has always been an absolute find for local produce, super friendly service and of course the pasties and pies! The new shop is super and we'll definitely be back time again :)

There is now a Wonderful new shop which is a lot bigger and has all the usual delights and even more. Highly recommended.

If you are ever passing Chettle please stop and try the village store. Staff are welcoming and friendly. The selection of goods is brilliant for such a small space. Good luck with the new shop.

Pies are mind blowing, in the event of arriving here after they have sold out of all hot snacks, buy yourself some frozen pies and pasties. I drove 3 hours then cooked mine back home. It made my eyes water it was so good 😂

What a fantastic find. A wonderful little shop off the beaten track. We bought all sorts of things, but the fresh local produce, the olive bread, the pies, sausage rolls and pastries are exceptionally good. How I wish this little shop was near me.

We happened apon this little gem of a shop purely by chance, and what a special, lovely place it is. As chance would have it, we wanted some good quality tasty tomatos, some shallots and some garlic to make our dinner. We saw the sign on the main road; turned off, and lo! Like Brigadoon this wonderful, magical oasis of a store was revealed, and they had exactly what we wanted. I think that it might actually be a magical place.

Amazing Chicken and Mushroom pie! I had driven past the sign on a few occasions whilst visiting the area and this time so glad I decided to pop in. I regret I did not buy a few to take back to London :( I highly recommend you DO take the turning towards Chettle - & enjoy the pie and the relaxed surroundings rain or shine. Josh, many thanks for making it a memory!

After 3 hours of driving I was looking for somewhere to pull in for the toilet, absolutely nothing on the road between Salisbury and Blandford Forum, until I spotted the sign for this village shop and children’s play area, and importantly a loo! What a find, a fantastic community shop selling lots of lovely things, coffee, deli, lots of alternative and organic stuff. You can even refill your milk bottles! A garden out front and extensive play area across the lane. It seems very popular with the locals. I would highly recommend if passing.

I would describe Chettle as an absolutely ideal village. The village stores sells local produce and amazing pies. A visit here is a must. Fantastic place to stop if you are travelling with children. There is a brilliant kids playground so they can let off steam. Picnic benches to have lunch and lots of good food. It's a must on our travels. 5 stars well deserved go to the whole village and the community here. ❤️

Hommity pie absolute winner, I dig em.

Excellent I had a lovely gluten free steak and ale pie .

Really nice coffee on sale here along with pies and sweet things to nibble on. The road to get there is a single track but it's worth it for the coffee. There are benches outside to sit in and a kids playground across the road.

Incredible little store that we found on the off chance whilst touring in our Camper. Fantastic selection of local produce, hot pasties and pies, and hot coffees to take away. Great for a pit stop or to stock up on essentials, most of which are Eco Friendly. Outside seating too, which is a great addition. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

Door puur toeval kwamen langs een bord langs de weg, waarop deze winkel was aangegeven. Het is een klein winkeltje, waarin heel veel te koop is, en je wordt erg vriendelijk geholpen. We kochten er alleen koffie, Cola, en een Pie en sausage roll. We moesten erg lachen om het buiten toilet. Heel veel succes dames, we hebben erg genoten van deze korte tussenstop!! Veel groepen van twee duchies!!

We just drove by, and had a cup of koffee, and tea. bought some limonade, an sausageroll en a pie. We had great fun about the luxury toilet outsite! and had a reale good time there!.

Living around 20 miles from Chettle, we drive by around 10 or so times a year for the last 15 years but never popped in. Well today broke that stigma. It was a lovely village store,not too expensive and the local cider was amazing, local pork sausage and the staff were lovely, I was a Salisbury firefighter for 10 years and never knew Chettle was there ,we will be back 😀

A useful small shack shop with meggy moo milk crook and churn cream, cold drinks it's like a health food shop/deli/convenience shop a little bit of everything a bit pricey good eco coffee the freshest pasties, nice surroundings outdoor seating in a pretty village surrounded by nature

Lovely place. Very quaint with quality product. We stop here every time we are passing for coffee, snack, and fresh baked sour dough bread to take home. Pop in if you are passing, but you won't regret it.

My 'local' shop but worth the short drive. Lovely friendly staff, a great selection of groceries and household items including lots of fair trade and ethical brands. I especially love the local produce meat, dairy (local milk on tap) and incredible locally grown vegetables. And their pies and pasties are awesome 👍

Worth the detour. Excellent pies!

We occasionally drop by on our way back to Northamptonshire from visiting family in Milton Abbas. Apart from the unusual offerings of local produce, we have discovered their excellent pies, sold frozen that can be cooked at home. A nice variety and quite delicious! Make a point of carrying a cool bag during our visits.

Fantastic little shop! Something for everyone, from locally sourced produce to cleaning products. Had some delicious sausage rolls and looking forward to trying the famous pies (frozen in this case) we hear so much about!

We have family down in Purbeck so always try and call into the wonderful Chettle Stores on the way there and back home. They have an excellent variety of produce, much of it local and where not ethical. The pies and pasties are fantastic and the staff friendly. There's a children's playground opposite the shop which is great for entertaining little ones. I'm already looking forward to our next pitstop!!

Really lovely shop which seemed to fall away into childhood memories. There was a good selection of foods and other goods a village shop should stock. Also some very good kimchee and sauerkraut. Mum had a pie which she is still talking about and I wasn't very hungry so had some seaweed peanuts.

Loved this Farm Shop. Didn't know there was a hamlet/village in the New Forest called this. Lots of lovely produce and jams, chutneys to buy.
