Thyme After Time Café in North Dorset

We stopped off here for breakfast at the end of a weekend away as we’d heard from our hosts that they did good food and were dog friendly. The food was delicious and great value. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and we managed to pick up a couple of early Xmas presents for hampers as a bonus! Would highly recommend.

Thyme after time cafe is lovely the food is all localy brought & you can see the staff cooking ,it's very cosy & friendly cafe & it's wheel chair friendly ,there are also seating out side & they have thyme after time fest as well & there cake is second to none ,there is good parking , thyme after time has moved to station road stalbridge now not as much seating out side but lovely in side ,lots of lovely cakes ,dog friendly ,as always friendly staff & lovely atmosphere .

Cafe is clean bright and modern, staff were friendly. Food was prepared and cooked fresh. Easy to find and park outside. There were 5 in our group, food came out at same time. No complaints or issues.

I only went in out of curiosity because I kept driving past the same outside of an industrial estate and couldn't see the cafe so I decided as a hard time on my hand I would investigate I was pleasantly surprised to find an industrial unit sympathetically turned into a cafe with three ladies in an open Kitchen so you can see there is nothing hidden no nasty secrets in the kitchen as I've seen in some cafes it was spotlessly clean will the large section of homemade cakes and other items seems to be very popular as there were a lot of people already there admittedly of the older generation so that was good for me as well I only had a coffee on this occasion but it was good quality coffee so I must say it was an extremely pleasant experience and I shall be returning possibly the sample some of the cakes indirect contradiction to my diet

A wonderful find hidden away at Stalbridge Dorset we have a warm welcome and could sit outside or in the restaurant area, the menu had a good range of meals and the homemade cake where to die for. I am fussy about coffee this was good roosted by readscoffee.co.uk.

This café has apparently only been open for a couple of weeks so I'm happy to overlook the unfinished appearance. The staff are lovely as was my bacon roll. Best I've had in a long while, and I eat them a lot. Plenty of parking. My pot of tea was excellent with enough in the pot for three cups and plenty of milk as well. We'll worth a visit.

Margot has been running her cafe from this site about 8 years,so I have been many times in i think the last 7+ years... I live around 150 miles away,and hadn't been here since Christmas... So I got down about 06.30 this morning and had table booked for 09.30..... I can not fault this cafe,I tend to have the Spire Hill Grill and I have yet to have a bad bit of any meal. With the ever increase in cost of living,I was expecting it to be more expensive than Christmas 2022...but nope,same price,and I think it is amazing quality for a very reasonable price. I was with family that live in Dorset and visit this fantastic cafe often....in fact my sister was in the day before also. The staff are lovely...Margot (owner) is a true professional and has built her business up over the years,take look at the website,and the produce that have,home made jams etc etc,I understand they now have some of the produce selling in a local shop. The customers in the cafe are also friendly,and seem to know each other.... I did a review on TaT before,and I'm doing this update as and edit,my original is below. We had pot of tea and three coffees...the little milk bottles,the glass teapot are just examples of some of the things they do differently...and it all goes to show the love Margot has for food and service to her customers (friends) The head chef Eve (pink shorts ;) ) is also a little star,and has been with TaT from being tutored from as an apprentice to becoming head chef... And is a credit to Margot and to catering... We came away with a couple of pieces of home made cakes....and will enjoy later. I know before I arrive that the experience will be all I could reasonably expect,and could only ever leave a rate of 5 star.... Anything less...I'm my view is unjust. Lovely place for a coffee and cake. Went again, had a sausage and egg bap, and had a homemade dorset apple cake. Food is delicious and can not fault it, and it is definitely worth a visit.

We had a small party here for an afternoon tea. Beautiful cakes, sandwiches and scones. Lots of homemade and local produce. They catered for vegans too.

If you haven't sampled the wonderful foodie offerings from Thyme after Time Cafe then you are missing out on a gem of a restaurant cafe right on your doorstep in North Dorset. The breakfasts are to die for, cooked to perfection and to your liking, using the finest locally sourced ingredients. The cafe is a quirky, relaxing and equally exciting place to spend some time in, with friendly and helpful service. Whether you're inside the cafe in the bustling main area or in the quiet and chilled out room or outside in the courtyard under the marquee you feel like you are somewhere special. They take as much care over cooking a breakfast as any top class chef would take over a fillet steak to your liking. No Chorleywood bread here for your toast- it's from The artisan bakers at Taylors of Bruton. The eggs are laid an eggs throw away and the sausages are from a renowned local butcher. There's no bought in catering packs of anything here, just the best local produce available, which is why it's the best breakfast by far for miles and miles around. And it doesn't stop there...The lunchtime menu is full of inventive dishes, beautifully cooked, with more local ingredients, and the cakes are genius creations, often superb takes on the classics, but equally new inventions with ingredients you wouldn't have thought of combining, but they work perfectly together. They make their own jams and their own tomato sauce, chutneys etc. The other week we had the Moules and Frites....the best we have tried anywhere, including Belgos in London and several seafood restaurants on the Jurassic coast. Their salads are beautiful combinations of the best produce available, they make their own braekfast granola...Are you getting the picture? This revue is from a genuine customer, not some keyboard warrior complaining about prices, with no regard for the quality of ingredients or the ambience, or the excellent and truly friendly service, or the beautiful setting. So if you want a cheap, badly cooked bacon bap, with watery, rubbery bacon in a stodgy cheap bap then go to a transport cafe. If you want the finest, best butcher in dorset bap, cooked to perfection in a Taylors of Bruton artisan bun or a full english breakfast where every ingredient is the finest available, or a lunchtime special that makes you feel like you have been served it in a fine dining restaurant, or a slice of handmade cake that would put the Ritz to shame then book a table at the incomparable Thyme after Time Cafe Restaurant.

Friendly and welcoming cafe, with a good menu. You get what you pay for, and we got/get a quality meal with quality ingredients.

I discovered this Rural Gem when it first opened it and have witnessed its growth, getting better and better. I have been going ever since, driving out of my way to eat here with increasing frequency, entertaining business colleagues, customers, alone, and with group,s of up to 12. A wonderful cafe with locally produced food cooked to perfection. Friendly and welcoming . The quality of the produce is second to none. Wonderful cakes and afternoon teas as well as regular special evenings and events. Lots of homemade preserves, chutneys, granolas, biscuits etc to buy that make a wonderful treat or a great gift. I always enjoy my trips to this great cafe. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food is quality and well worth the money. I often visit when passing on my motorbike usually in a group. The bacon is lovely, the roll are fresh and the ingredients for the breakfast are lovely. You get what you pay for. We pass loads of cafes on the way to this one and yes they are probably cheaper but you get what you pay for. I like quality at a fair price. Keep up the good work. Our absolute favourite local cafe, the food is always delicious, locally sourced and of great quality, much the same can be said for the" locally sourced" and "good quality" staff who always have a smile and great service. A true hidden gem in our lovely rural Dorset!

This is a great place to eat, me and my team had our lunch after delivering a funeral away from home and we were very happy indeed. The food was great and the services was excellent and some good old fashion customer service with a smile! Well done and thank you!

Fab little café I'm ashamed to say I'd only visited once before and that was during Covid so I only bought (delicious!) take-away sausage rolls which were someone else's uncollected order. This time I visited with 3 friends shortly before midday. They each had variations on the breakfast bap, which they all enjoyed. I was tempted to try the Roasted Vegetable Wrap and was very glad I yielded, as it was absolutely delicious, and very filling. So much so I wasn't sure I could manage a dessert, but the Dorset Apple Cake looked too delicious to pass up. It was, and I managed to squeeze it in washed down with 3 cups of tea from the very generous pots. Thanks are due to Margot and the crew. I'll definitely be back before very long to make up for lost time!

Wow! Incredible breakfasts, gorgeous coffees and cakes. I went in for the first time on a Saturday when they offer a fabulous range of cooked breakfasts. It's hard to improve on a full English but with their bubble and squeak, beautiful butcher's sausage and whatever they do to make baked beans taste like that...I will definitely be back! A little pricier than elsewhere but that goes on great quality ingredients. They even have an option to 'buy someone a coffee' which is such a lovely idea. Very highly recommended.

Wow!!! Ok so not the cheapest place to have a breakfast but you get what you pay for 😍. The pot of tea is equivalent of 3 cups. Coffee in big cup. We both had the Thorne hill bunch - so much taste & cooked perfectly. Good portions - More than enough for us. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Def worth a visit & will be on our routine next time in area.

I was there very briefly hence the 4 stars but definitely recommend them and will go again.

Had a wonderful lunch today, all home cooked food, service was great nothing was too much trouble, with a cosy atmosphere as the wood burner was going. Will recommend this place to all my friends.

Great home cooked style food in a quirky setting . You can bring your well behaved dog which is a huge bonus, been here twice now and staff have been very friendly. My dog loves this place - pic of him waiting for food.

Fantastic food and great staff.

We came here because the place had such positive press. I was really disappointed. My whole breakfast was just dry and overcooked to the point that I could Snap my toast. The poor young child waiting tables, clearly wanted to be anywhere else but here shakily bringing hot drinks to the table with large amounts of it spilled on the saucer. Only able to carry one plate at a time on his arms because it was hot and heavy. I don't care if it's a family business it's cruel. The lady who took our order was friendly enough however the other behind the till also seemed just angry. Over all they know how to cook a sausage. I definitely will not return. For the chunk of money we lost on that day it is really not worth the trip.

Love this cafe. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and made such a fuss of my dog, he loved it! They are sooo dog friendly here and the first cafe I know to serve a doggie full english breakfast (which my dog loved). I have the butternut squash squash which was really nice.

I stopped here one morning when I needed to do some work while on the road . The friendly ladies let me set up at a corner table, brought me a delicious cooked breakfast and were incredibly accommodating. I bought lots of lovely biscuits and granola to take home too. I’ll need to head back soon to restock!

Absolutely lovely place. My dad sometimes brings me here with my toddler. The lady who serves us is always very sweet and accommodating. Food is delicious and very well presented. Top quality ingredients used and you can tell. I look forward to any visit to here.

Took my mum here for coffee today...and we shared some delicious Dorset Apple Cake, beautifully served with a generous pot of clotted cream. Absolutely divine. Lovely, relaxed atmosphere with good size courtyard seating area. Staff/Proprietor all smashing. Thank you.

I can't believe we have only just discovered this gem, and just a short trip from home. The range and quality of delicious breakfasts is impressive, and the cakes taste as scrummy as they look. So far we have enjoyed proper tea (deep joy!) in a pot, and the best coffee I've had for quite some time. All served with care by friendly, efficient folk. What's not to love?!

I had a birthday/ mothers day tea with my family at home. It was delicious all eaten and very much enjoyed thank you ladies. I will be back!!!!

I’ve driven past many times and always thought I must call in. We did yesterday morning (Saturday). What a great place. We were not disappointed. Excellent range of food and too big to eat portions. Coffee was lovely and the staff were so friendly. We even managed to decide on a name for our soon to arrive baby!!! Well done guys! Would have given you 10 stars if I could.

Very friendly cafe (and dog friendly - very important for us to bring our dog inside to) . Went for lunch. We had soup, two different types, both very tasty and a big chunk of corn bread which was very nice too. Staff were very welcoming. We'll certainly come again!

Various displays as well as equipment are all there to see and to touch, as well as mock up of events all help to make the experience a enjoyable one.The cafe that is situated inside does a lovely cream tea. Also does kids boxes as well a hot and cold meals. The prices you would think would be over the top but I was very shocked at the price as they are very cheap, and the food is lovely..
