Booked a table at the Cherry Tree the week before we were to travel to Scotland from Derbyshire. We needed a dog friendly pub which this is. On the day we travelled up, they had to shut the kitchen due to a staff injury, however they honoured our booking.. We’ve just had the best service and a lovely pub meal. The dog was brought her own water bowl too. Couldn’t have been more friendly. Good atmosphere too. Great value for money.

This was my first visit to this establishment, but it will not be my last! I don't wish to go into detail, and this set an unwanted precedent, but I cannot speak too highly of the service we received, and the quality of the food (and the size of the portions!). The manageress, who is also the proprietor, went out of her way in order to make us comfortable, and welcome. The young man who also served us, was equally helpful and friendly. As I often state on these reviews, it is the attitude of the staff that can make or break the experience - even more than the food one eats. If I could give six stars, I would gladly do so. Highly recommended. One word of caution - the restaurant does not serve lunch on Wednesdays.

Went into the Cherry Tree for a meal last Saturday before a concert. Had been told previously that the steak pie was good here, so my wife and I ordered it. The portion size was huge, so much so my wife couldn’t finish it. The taste and quality were excellent, probably the best steak pie I’ve had. Would definitely recommend it to anyone and I’ll certainly order it again.

Lovely meal tonight. Steak Pie is really good. Plenty of good meat, lovely gravy and fluffy pastry. Chicken Fahitas are great. Chicken wings and ribs and all the extras were great. All at a very good price. Lovely friendly pub.

Lovely homemade food, excellent service and wonderful staff. Can't wait to try other dishes available on the menu, especially the steak pie that a couple at another table had as it looked amazing 😃

Excellent friendly staff very dog friendly even let my dog sit at the table with me all the staff made a fuss of her which she loved .food was excellent even though they were rushed off their feet and it was explained before we ordered they were running behind due to staff shortages but we weren’t in a rush so wasn’t a problem have had a great meal every time I’ve been but now I know I can take my dog and have her so warmly welcomed il be visiting more often also my grand daughter is so fussy but she loves the lasagna so that in itself is a huge compliment highly recommend just wish I had room for dessert

I had Chicken Balmoral and a baked potato and it was just excellent, the new chef Ronnie makes his own peppercorn sauce and it is so tasty. We have been eating here at least twice a week for a while now and I have not had one bad meal, the fish and chips, steak pie and Cajun chicken are among my favourites. Please give the Cherry Tree a try, you will not be disappointed.

Wonderful food In an extremely safe environment. Who would have thought last year that we would be anxious about eating out? The Cherry Tree are very covid aware and have all safety measures in place, i personally felt very well looked after and safe. The food was absolutely fantastic and all the bar staff are professional and friendly, I feel very lucky to have this pub within walking distance, we will definitely be back 😀

I am regular visitor to this scheme pub. I am addicted to their steak pie, however they have made additions to thier menu recently including mince and tatties which is brilliant, and deals on burger and a pint. The staff are brilliant and go above and beyond to look after you. Well worth a visit.

I called in on my own for a quick bite to eat. The staff as always were super-friendly. Had one of the specials for lunch, mushroom stronganoff. It was to die for! Highly recommended.

Couldn't be bothered cooking so went to the Cherry Tree on a cold Monday night, so glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing, I am a big fan of beef stroganoff and choose it in many different restaurants, however I think the Cherry Trees is the BEST! Beef was cooked to perfection and not the least bit chewy and absolutely not a bit of fat on the meat. The strogonoff sauce was gorgeous, I would be very tempted to get the same dish the next time I am in but think I will try and work my way through the menu. Staff as always friendly and professional. If it's your local please give it a try.

Came in on a Saturday afternoon with my teenage daughters(16&14) staff were amazing and very friendly and helpful, menu was varied and great value for money. Will defo be back but maybe without the teenagers 😂

New chef is excellent, I had lunch with my mum and sister and both of them cleared their plates which is very unusual, I requested half a portion for my mum as she hasn’t been eating lately and I was so pleased that she ate every morsel. I then had home made soup with my husband and it was delicious, I especially loved the really nice bread it was served with instead of those really hard rolls. Looking forward to going back, especially look forward to the new menu

Me and my 9 year old popped in for lunch today. We had the mac and cheese it was amazing. Pamela and Kate, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Such a lovely atmosphere very nicely decorated also.

Great music, wide variety of alcoholic beverages as well as cocktails and very friendly people. This place is definitely a go to if you're looking for a good time at any age, I've never felt so welcome!

I love the Cherry Tree! The good is great, particularly the lasagne, nachos and macaroni cheese (all home made). The specials are always great too and on a Tuesday we've been in for the homemade curries. Great selection of beers and gins and reasonable price for the prosecco.if you're nearby the Cherry is definitely worth a visit.

I live locally and since its been taken over and refurbished, it's a totally different place. Its well worth a visit wether for a snack, Lunch or Dinner. The staff are really nice and go out of their way for you.

Dropped in for our lunch today, wasn't sure what to expect as never been in the pub before though we've driven by a number of times.

Been a few times in the last 2 years and have never had a fault with the place. Always a great atmosphere. Brought some friends tonight along with my very young kids. Staff were brilliant with my kids and my friends very extremely impressed with both the food and the service. Thank you for some great night.

Brilliant lunch with my son, efficient service and great food. We had lasagne and steak pie, perfect portion sizes.

Fun and friendly. There was 10 of us. Fabulous disabled access and staff couldn't do enough to make us comfortable with plenty of space.Food was lovely and great price. I would recommend to anyone.

The Cherry Tree is on my doorstep so I popped in with my daughters' boyfriend on Friday before taking him to the airport. He has a great appetite and after the bacon and cheese burger, chips and onion rings he said he was full so that speaks for itself. We were served by Ryan who's a real wee friendly chap. We went for lunch and me and my wife had steak pie and it was the best for a long time. £7.95 each and loved it.Will be back and the girl that served us Michelle was very nice and made us feel at home.

Great prices - specials board updated regularly so you dont end up eating the same thing everytime. Nachos are homemade which was pretty cool. Much better than someone opening a bag of doritos and dumping a handfull of cheese on top. Bit of efforts obviously...

Had a very poor lunch at the Cherry Tree. It was overpriced and poorly cooked. My granddaughter could not eat her natchos and my wife's soup was too peppery and the vegetables in it were hard. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Went today for lunch and was very disappointed. My granddaughter had nachos and they were disgusting. They were burnt and she didn't eat them. Very overpriced for the quality of food you get. Won't be back for food and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Our 3rd visit and we love this place. Besides the fact all the fact the staff are so lovely.and welcoming the food is amazing as well. Although I wouldn't class us as local as we stay in airdrie I wish this place was our local and we would be in more often. Even our 7 year old daughter loves coming here.

This was our 2nd visit to the Cherry Tree and I honestly can’t recommend it enough. The place is lovely and the food is absolutely amazing but what honestly makes the Cherry Tree is the Staff! They are so friendly and welcoming, especially the Owner which you don’t get in many places. Also can’t recommend the chicken burger enough, so yummy! Definitely the best place in the area in my opinion!

Popped in to pay for our lunch with Santa ended up staying and having a lovely lunch at The Cherry Tree. Macaroni was delicious, friendly staff, quick food service and a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy lunch. Lots of choice on the menu and for kids too! Will definitely be back.

First timers in the cherry tree today and it certainly won't be our last. Very nice atmosphere, pub is very cosy and nice furniture and seating arrangements. The food was genuinely incredible. I'd honestly say the burger was by far the nicest burger I've had. My wife had steak pie and she also thought it was brilliant. The food is wonderful and if I'm honest you guys are too cheap! I've paid a lot more for a plate of rubbish so fair play.Staff are really really welcoming and friendly and good with kids as well. We look forward to coming back. Your hard work transforming a typical wee pub into a busy good quality gastropub has paid off!

Perfect place when you're just too lazy to cook the Sunday dinner. We called in at 6pm and were welcomed by a very friendly staff member. I ordered Sunday roast which was gammon and my husband ordered the chilli con carne. I asked if I could have a peppercorn sauce for my gammon which wasn't on the menu. The chef Andrew made me a sauce which was delicious. Both our meals were excellent.The atmosphere is excellent, very nice decor and the pub including toilets is spotlessly clean.

The Cherry Tree is absolutely beautiful inside. I have read that it has recently been done up and it by far exceeded our expectations aesthetically. The staff were extremely helpful! I'm saying this we were hopeful about the food but however it turned out to be disappointing.My mum ordered the special which was carbonara which came out cold. I had ordered the chicken and bacon salad which turned out to just be the tough white of the lettuce, a tasteless chicken breast chopped up, 6 tiny bits of bacon and three silvers of red onion. I never even finished it. I would definitely return to the cherry tree for a drink as the surroundings were gorgeous but won't be ordering food again.

The pub has recently undergone a massive facelift And the difference is incredible in terms of layout and furniture and fixtures the whole place has a fresh look and a quality feel.The new layout is bright and refreshing The food offering is updated and is on keeping with traditional pub grub with a emphasis on hale and hearty.The beer offering has also increased and has top quality ales which include Innes and Gunn and West great Beer from the East and West of Scotland alongside the more traditional lagers.They also have a great offering of Californian Wines in red and white and Zinfandel.They also sell Proscecco in handy 20cl and in larger bottles in 75cl at a very reasonable £13.99. They also have a wide range of spirits including Drambuie Hendricks and top malt whiskey including Dalwhinnie. Kate must be commended on completely turning the Cherry Tree around in terms of layout and presentation.Furthermore the staff who include Kenny Pam, Louise and Stacey and not forgetting Willie really make you feel really welcome. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Cherry Tree for a meal or a quick drink or at the weekend great night out.

My first visit since the new owners took over.I had a lovely lunch here today with my daughter&grand-daughter.Very friendly staff,great customer service as well as the food being fab.Plus during the school holiday,kids can eat for free up til 5pm Mon til Frid.Will most definitely be back.

Since the pub has been renovated I've been in twice, both times with kids. The drinks are lovely and reasonably priced and last week we had some food. The burgers were tasty and the kids picked some starters to share with some of the dirty fries. All the meals were tasty and filling. We will definitely be back especially as it's walking distance from our house

Local to me and our first visit for lunch. 2 x fish teas for a tenner washed down with a pint and vodka & coke for £5.55 is amazing value. The staff are brilliant from the barmaid to the girl from the kitchen to the owner. Very friendly and welcoming. The internal upgrade is fantastic and for lager drinkers I defy you to get a cleaner pipe locally. The food chips were fabulous peas excellent I found the fish a little greasy hence 4 out of 5. We had an overall great experience at lunchtime and noted the variety if free entertainment on most evenings. This is a pub reborn and trying very hard. We will definitely return often and I highly recommend you give it a go. Please keep up the high standards especially around the lager, looking forward to becoming a regular on Friday lunchtime.e at least. Cheers

I stay local to the cherry tree and visit on a regular basis at the weekend with my wife and daughter for a meal and a couple of drinks. The pub itself is a great family pub and all staff are great with my baby daughter. The food itself is excellent would highly recommend the cheeseburger and the deserts are awesome. The pub also has a great selection of lagers beyond the standard lagers you normally get in pubs. Occasionally I like to change my lager to a west lager , Innes and gunn or pravha which is brewed in Prague. Great pub would highly recommend a visit with your family .

Football on Saturday was a great atmosphere, very friendly local pub with great food, served fresh.

Went in to try today. Very clean and barmaid was nice and friendly. 2 chicken noodle soups fish n chips and club sandwich took 1hr 55 min to prepare. When we arrived there was only 2 tables occupied. The food was nice when it arrived by which time people had bn served 3 coursed and left pub grub shouldnt take this long. It is described as a family pub, however the locals were very rude and vulgar when children were in ( not mine) staff accepted this and did not ask them to calm down. This was at haf 1 in the day the fball wasnt on till 5. Poor show.

Visit the Cherry Tree regularly with family and friends. Food is delicious. Love the new menu. The pub looks great after the makeover and the beer garden is a great addition. Last but not least, the staff are amazing!

Like most locals, I've body swerved this place for years and jumped on a bus for a drink . Now though due to a makeover and more importantly, great staff serving it's now a good pub again that you'd like to drink in. Hopefully it'll go from strength to strength.
