Always make a point to visit here whenever I am in Birmingham. Great independent cafe bar with a lush selection of tasty beer.

Great spot, very close to the station, friendly atmosphere and I went to the alternative comedy night (last Thursday of every month I think) which was fun (again, alternative sensibility/ humour though - not for everyone😄) would recommend.

Cherry Red's is one of the more versatile venues in Birmingham - it offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, baked goods, hot drinks, and alcohol - truly somewhere you could visit on any occasion and I certainly have, ranging from dates to summer pints. They even host jazz gigs, and while I am yet to attend one they always sound great. A true highlight for myself is their fish finger sandwich and the consistent stocking of local craft and cask ales. A must visit for a spot of f&b.

A welcoming place with a great menu for all dietary requirements. The selection of drinks was also impressive. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I will say though, the guy with rainbow hair did come across a bit stand-offish and almost unwilling to help some customers. Maybe I caught him on a bad day...

Food freshly cooked and well priced.

We recently celebrated here with family in one of their private rooms. We had a really lovely time at Cherry Reds and the staff were all very helpful. We will definitely be keeping them in mind for future family get togethers as it was so lovely to have use of one of your private rooms to catch up and celebrate our little ones birthday. The food was delicious, and I am so grateful that you were able to do everything gluten free for us, it made a massive difference to our experience of the day, so thank you ever so much. I highly recommend this place

I booked out an upstairs room for my birthday and the process was incredibly simple and perfectly catered to my needs. Cherry Reds is a gem.

Needed some food and a coffee and found Cherry Reds. Had a breakfast bun and an americano. Then fancying a pint I indulged in a Plateau, which was most enjoyable. All in all a pleasant late morning.

Nice vibes inside. Busy on the weekend; all tables taken. Simple menu with simple scrambled eggs on toast. Affogato was forgettable and actually not great. Would not visit again, but seems well liked based on the foot traffic. Service was friendly.

Tuesday 18th February 2025 Today, I drank in this brilliant bohemian atmospheric real ale pub next to Birmingham new street station A small wooden floored beautifully set out place 3 real ales on today all interesting beers from small breweries Great staff, the bar is lovely Locals are very pleasant, and it's a must when in Birmingham to come into if wanting a grand pint of real ale

Very good good cafe/bar a couple of minutes walk from Birmingham New Street Station. Three cask beers on handpump when I visited including a red ale. Lots of outdoor seating. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Cool place - we sat soggily after a rainstorm and played a board game and they didn't mind the noise. There was comedy going on upstairs.

I came for breakfast one morning and found a super cozy place with very nice workers. They have large windows that allow you to sit close and enjoy the food while watching the passersby pass through the streets of Birmingham. They have a very varied menu and their Earl Gray tea will not disappoint you.

Winter hash with goat's cheese was great - lots of sweet potato, onion, peppers and spinach :)

They pour the beer without sparklers here and the Pale Brummie turns out to be the best pint of the day. Great service and a worthy entry in the Good Beer Guide. The food offer looks irresistible and I’ll have to return soon to sample it.

¡Uso Cherry Reds cada año para organizar mi concurso de caridad de Navidad! Es el lugar perfecto para ello. Gran sala (el BOSTA) con un escenario y mesas y sillas, me las arreglo para acomodar cómodamente a unas 40 personas para trabajar en sus mesas. También puedo usar el sistema PA fácilmente. Todo el personal es muy relajado y servicial. Me encanta que pueda invitar a una amplia variedad de personas que quieren batidos, o cerveza de lujo, o pastel o un completo en la comida y cerezas puede acomodar todo esto al mismo tiempo. El look y la vibra del lugar es perfecto para mi evento festivo hecho a mano y me encanta volver cada año por él. ¡Gracias!

My Weekend at Birmingham.. thank god this place was across from my lousy Hotel...seriously lush breakfasts and cuppa tea...Pricey but worth it...Recommend you try if you see it....

Stayed for 3 nights in Birmingham and this is quite possibly the best cafe I've been too. Food is out of this world and the staff have been amazing.

Went here for breakfast, options decent food really good. Staff very friendly and downstairs atmosphere very nice. Upstairs less so but overall experience very nice.

Excellent quirky little bar so close to Birmingham New Street that you might be able to squeeze in a pint while waiting for a connection. The Fairy Tale milk stout sounds like it might be sickly but it was very drinkable. I came across the same beer in London a week later and it was much poorer. Didn't get a chance to sample the food.

I love Cherry Reds! It's one of my favourite places in Birmingham. Cosy and quirky - lots of rescued furniture and mid-century decor in a Victorian building. Importantly, the beer selection is very good, and the cakes and coffee are also excellent. On the proper menu, vegetarians are very well catered for. Just love!!!

This was an amazing place. This was the first place I have been in four years where everyone - staff and customers - were kind and accepting of me in a wheelchair with zero fuss. Food lovely, great atmosphere. Thank you so much - the welcome made me cry!

[Nov 22nd Date of visit] The food that my partner and I had is usually the kind of food I'd be reluctant having at most restaurants as there's usually a lack of thought with falafel/cauliflower bite dishes when it comes to vegans, however we decided to have the sharing platter here and I was really pleasantly suprised -- the texture of every single bite was amazing. I am a big fan of crunchy foods because of my autism and the falafels, cauli bites and onion rings all had an amazing crunch too them and the onion in the rings wasn't overpowering and sour but instead added a nice bite to the crispiness (and that's a compliment from me as onions are a food that are very rarely safe for me), the hummus was thick and creamy and all the dippers were crisp and fresh. The wedges were hand cut and had a quality taste too them that wasn't an oily gross flavour but instead a pillow of potato. Don't even get me started on the vegan shakes, they use vegan ice cream and milk alternative and the flavour is strong, the shake is really thick and luxurious, I'll definitely be revisiting at some point just to grab a shake alone !

Great cafe bar in the City near New Street Station. Always busy but great service and reasonably priced tasty food. 2 levels inside and seating outside, has a nice atmosphere and great for people watching!

It's a cozy place in the middle of the city with a good atmosphere and vibe. Even though it's always full of people, the staff are super kind. The coffee and the pancakes are really good. They are warm enough to heat you up on a cold day.

An Oasis in the horror of 1960s town planning lunacy that is Brum city centre. Nearly everything else in the area is awful chains, central station food court is like abright chrome airport nightmare. Cherry Reds - proper cafe, good food, good coffee good prices & nice staff. Thankyou.

Only came for a beer as I’d filled up in Bonehead. A great selection of craft and local beer, super venue, light and welcoming. Great service and a lovely refuge from the city

Had high hopes for this place, 2 weeks in the making. Entered the place, find a table and order at the bar a notice said. Five of us, no chance of finding a table, a fair few people mismatched with wrong sized tables. Roamed around for a few mins upstairs and downstairs couldn't find a table big enough. At no time did any member of staff approach us. Walked out and went elsewhere. Really disappointed. If for example 2 people weren't sitting on a table for 6 it would have helped. I've given 2 stars only for the fact that it had a fantastic menu choice. Poor show Cherry Reds !!

Very quirky cafe, excellent food and staff. 8 of us had breakfast in there this morning and all of us said the same, "top notch". Loved the music 🎶 as well, folk and Indie. If you're passing, call in👍

Overall atmosphere is so homely and cosy! Dropped in for breakfast around midday and the owner was very chatty - recommended beers and meals... food is absolutely incredible! Portion sizes are very generous and prices are not bad at all! Absolutely loved it here and it is now our new local !

Very nice little café, breakfast was great and the people who work here are so polite and friendly. We felt very welcome in here and enjoyed our breakfast. Highly recommend this café and would definitely go here again when visiting Birmingham.

Great vegan brekkie, nice coffee and not massively expensive for the city centre either. Nice place will go back.

Reasonably priced food and excellent drinks. The beer is well kept with plenty of options. Staff are really friendly and efficient. Lovely mix of customers and just a really relaxed atmosphere, and a great place to watch the world go by.

We came for a quick drink while waiting for a table nearby. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and allowed tasting of a drink before ordering. It was busy but still seats available and the atmosphere was simply electric. If I could have stayed longer, I would have, but I'll be back for sure! Come for the atmosphere, stay for the drink options, and enjoy it early evening until late.

Cafe with a great atmosphere, very good playlist and very nice decor. I had a Caesar salad which was not very good. I advise you to head for the pancakes or the rest

Lovely relaxed cafe near Birmingham new street. Reasonably priced food ranging from a full English to burgers and chips. An amazing selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Lovely coffee as well as serving alcohol.

Cozy pub with some boardgames too! Has seating outside and inside.

Great venue and great atmosphere. This venue is great all year round, cosy in the winter - lovely outdoor space in the summer. A wide drink selection and superb homely food.

The moment you walk into Cherry reds you feel as if you’ve traveled back in time. It’s a bustling little cafe in the big city with a unique vibe taking you back to simpler times. Service is solid, the food hits the spot and they have a good selection of drinks to cater for all.

One of our favourite places in Birmingham city centre. The staff are lovely, the beer is local and the cake is divine.

Stunning spot on the heart of Birmingham! Wonderful staff, amazing vibes and they have lots of fun events on like comedy and jazz nights (go to their instagram) plus rooms to hire!! Food is a standard 6/10 on average (I come here a lot and still order every time!) and a large and delicious selection of drinks for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinkers - overall a great spot with something for everyone! Must visit in the sunshine or for an event ☀️

I visited Cherry Red's on 11/06/23 for the first time in a few years and in my opinion, it's only gotten better with time. The beer selection is vast and always rotating - regular beers stay, of course, but for the adventurous there is always something new to try. Our servers and the service in general was excellent and so friendly. You're made to feel welcome in an 'old, absent friend' kind of way. Even though it has been over two years since I've been there, i was made to feel like I'd never been away, despite being a complete stranger. Sadly no food was sampled but from what i saw coming out of the kitchen, the dishes looked amazing, so 5/5 for presentation but I can't yet comment on the quality. Highly recommended. Clientele that night consisted mostly of gig-goers heading to see Placebo round the corner at the o2 Academy, so it was an amiable, lively but friendly crowd.

I had lunch here this past Sunday and I loved it. I’d never been before, but the atmosphere was great. Chilled and friendly with a definite come as you are vibe. The decor has a retro/vintage feel to it, and the food and drink were spot on. If you like your dining experiences a little different I highly recommend Cherry Red’s.

Just been for lunch at Cherry Reds. Small independent place located close to New Street station in an old building. The old style build gives it charm - crecking floorboards etc, although some areas are showing a bit of tiredness, like the tables. Seating outside, and upstairs available and room hire for functions available. The food was excellent and great value for money. Had the hearty breakfast and cup of tea. Filling and tasty. Plenty of vegetarian, gluten free options available too.

Excellent coffee. I had a veggie breakfast Bagel. It was well presented and fresh but very salty. Staff were helpful and food service was quick and professional.

A cool place and space to work. Minutes from New Street Station they offer rooms to hire for nothing. Based on the burgers the grub is delish delosh and good value too

An independent local gem in the heart of Birmingham. My partner and I love going to Cherry Reds for brunch on the weekend, and the vegan pancakes are always a winner! Cherry Reds also has a couple of characterful and cosy meeting spaces to book for free (with a minimum spend), and I love that they support so many community orgs in hosting various events and meet-ups. I threw a surprise birthday party in their Bosta Room, and the staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful both in the run up to and throughout the event. Everything felt super smooth and easy. The booking process through their website was straightforward, and there was a very reasonably priced selection of catered options. The food was really delicious, and there was an interesting and varied beer selection which we really enjoyed. It's also a huge plus that they're located so close to the train station, which made travel for guests coming from farther afield much more accessible. 10/10 would recommend.

Jacket potato not cooked took back twice ended up asking for a refund Lady behind the counter was apologetic and gave me a free cake as yet not received the refund into my bank very disappointed
