Chelsea Wine Bar in Belfast

Great bar for a pint/cocktails/coffee but the food not great! and this is second time we came for food and just ok.... will be back as love this bar but menu/food not great and expensive for what you get! We dont mind paying for good food but the chelsea not supplying

I don't get the round bar. The few times I've ventured in I've found a good atmosphere to be lacking. Food was great though. 2of the 3 staff that served us were very pleasant.

We went to the Chelsea for our Christmas party and had a fantastic time. The food was delicious and the service fantastic and the whole ambience made it one of the best Christmas parties in a long time. We will definitely be booking again for next year!

I booked a table for a family get together. Overall we had a great night. Lovely ambience, great service, very friendly staff and food delicious. Generally what you would expect for a BT9 establishment. However, one area was seriously below standards and that was the state of the gents toilets. Looked like they hadn't been checked/cleaned all day. Hand towels littered the floor which also needed a good mopping and waste bins overflowing. Wash hand basins also needed a good wipe down. To be fair the ladies in our group said the female toilets were spotless. That was the only negative from an otherwise excellent choice of venue.

Not bad for a spot of Sunday lunch. Free glass of Prosecco if you get two courses. The cod was lovely!

I booked for family dinner for 25 people Discussed meets with manager Chris before We got brilliant attention The seating was perfect for mixed family group When we arrived we were well looked after The ordering was prompt but not rushed Every order was exactly what we expected The food was magnificent The only comment was that there was almost roo much in some if the dishes The price was pretty reasonable We were there on a Saturday night and there was live music towards the end of the night. He was very good and knew that he was background and not the main attraction. So many restaurants get this wrong and the music drowns out the conversation The managerial team Derbhla James and Doc should be really proud of their team Dara Erin Tara amd Ciaran and the new bar man

I sauntered into this establishment with my family friend and we’re greeted to a warm buzz of people and modern decor. I ordered the chefs special “chipotle” scampi as a starter. Although the word chipotle implies a spicy taste this dish was not at all, in fact the inverse as it was drenched in dressing. The family friend ordered Seafood Chowder. The portion size was generous but lacked flavour. She would have preferred more depth to the dish. I had the steak sandwich which was artfully prepared however it is not a sandwich as it lacks the top piece of bread. I think though that the dish was better for it as the amount of bread was just right. Steak was tender and chips were very good. Crisp fluffy in the middle. Overall 4/5.

We’ve just had a lovely meal at The Chelsea. The staff were friendly, great service and the food was excellent. Don’t miss trying this one if you are in South Belfast.

We went for the Sunday dinner! The portions were great and the food was amazing! Everything stood out!

A large glass of merlot was the limit of my alcohol consumption, but I more than compensated with my food intake. A Chicken Tagliatelle Special in a creamy sauce, Fish and Chips, Seafood Chowder and Sausage and Mash were our choices for mains, plus a side order of Duck Fat Chips. When they arrived, our dishes were huge. The portion of Seafood Chowder was very generous and the sauce had a lovely delicate spiciness. The chicken dish was gorgeous. The fish & chips and sausage & mash dishes were both given a thumbs up. It was so nice that we decided to have a dessert, having long forgotten any initial calorie concerns. We went for Salted Caramel Cheesecake, Eton Mess and some Ice Cream... and they were all beautiful. The only criticism of the Chelsea was the service, or rather lack of it. Despite a great start (drink and food order taken swiftly), long after we had finished eating and after five minutes of trying to attract some attention, my husband had to run to the bar trying to find someone to give us the bill. But this didn't distract from the quality or enjoyment of the food.

Great we stop in for a drink, equally as pleasant as your stop for the whole night. Reasonably priced for a quality establishment at the posh end of the Lisburn Road.

Impressed with this place. Really nice interior (quite unexpected from the understated exterior). The food was really tasty, we had a range of starters and all of them were really good. Nice attention to detail with the flavours. All the staff seemed lovely, friendly and attentive service. Atmosphere was buzzy, even on a late Monday afternoon I will be back :)

So disappointed! Went today for fathers day. Heard great reviews about the Chelsea so booked it for the special occasion. Wow I was shocked, table service was awful, was looking forward to 3 course meal, couldnt even order a desert as noone came near our table the whole time and I had to go up and ask for the bill. I will never be back and will never recommend this place. Everywhere I go I tip, this is the first place we're I have not tipped.

Terrible service! We had booked a table online a few weeks back for last night at 7.45, we arrived at 7.50 (running late due to transport) when we arrived we stood for 5 to 10 mins before being acknowledged. When someone came to ask us our name etc we were told that the kitchen may be closed, even though our table was booked. A staff member went to check and came back and said yes, sorry the kitchen is closed, the chefs are going home. I understand we were 5 mins late, but in no way were we going to have orders taken and food out by 8 pm, so how the kitchen was closed and the chefs away, I can't understand! We were extremely dissatisfied with this restaurant after hearing such good reviews from family. However, we ended up in another restaurant on the Lisburn Road, which was fabulous and very accommodating! We def won't be back!

Been here a few times and enjoyed it. Its a lovely spot, nice atmosphere. Disappointed at paying £9.50 for a pornstar martini with no passion fruit and no prosecco. Need to get cocktails right for summer.

First and last impression, is simply that the Chelsea is an exceptional venue for a private party ! Last Friday in April we through a retirement party for a colleague and the staff, setting and food were exceptional. Prosecco reception really set the scene in a relaxed sheek environment ! Real hidden gem

We called in for an evening meal prior to attending a concert. My first impression was that there is a nice ambience about the place, with quite a number appearing to be enjoying a drink after work. The staff members were extremely welcoming and friendly. I had the Chicken Supreme and it was really tasty and the portions were generous. We did not have to wait long for our food to arrive. The service was attentive. I would certainly return to this gastro pub/bistro.

We went to The Chelsea on 31/3/23 for lunch. Staff were very helpful & friendly. We were shown a menu & then ordered a drink as well as our meal. The Chelsea is on The Lisburn Road beside Marlborough Park. It is well worth a visit to this restaurant as because it has such good food & good service as well as friendly staff who will help you with any enquiries you may have. Stephen Acton.

My first time in Belfast and I went there. They asked what would I like so I gave the waitress carte blanche and said bring me something Irish and good. She brought out Guiness steak and kidney pie and a Guinness beer. Excellent choice. Great people.

Visited yesterday for Sunday lunch- excellent value 2 courses and a glass of Prosecco for £23! Salt chilli squid was tasty- a little soggy but not bad. The roast dinner was hot- veg was nice and firm- gravy was a bit gloppy- I like a thin gravy. Overall though- good value for money . Quick service- very nice staff.

Here on a Sunday, great value lunch dinner offers, food enjoyed by all, no complaints. Recommended

The Chelsea hosted my wedding reception and it was absolutely amazing. The Chelsea was helpful and friendly from start to end. They took care of us and all our guests on our special day. The food was amazing on the day. I would recommend them to anyone getting married in the future!

Myself and my wife had our reception at the Chelsea in the upstairs section. The food, drink, atmosphere, service and staff was fantastic! Everyone went out their way to make our evening perfect! Absolutely fantastic place!

Main course was quite tasty. Dessert was disappointing.Expensive -£6 for 3 scoops of ordinary ice-cream-no rum flavoured jelly despite on the menu. Friendly and attentive staff.

We visited The Chelsea last week just before the Ed Sheeran concert in Belfast. It was our first time in a while and it did not disappoint. Atmosphere was great, food and cocktails wven better. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend and can not waot to return.

We had a fantastic evening celebrating our bosses retirement. Staff, food and entertainment were wonderful. Will certainly be back.

First time here for a graduation meal and the food and atmosphere was great. Plenty of food, service, and the place was great. I had vegetable soup, the burger and crumble and it was really tasty! All in all I highly recommend!

A friend and I visited last night for a pre-dinner drink. Keith made us excellent dry martinis and made us feel very welcome. He certainly has the hospitality gene! Cocktails were so good, we ordered a second. A great start to our evening.

Was OK, staff friendly not complaining abt them. Ordered wraps but only 2 wraps came an I had lots of filling left charged me another £1.60 roundabout so I could finish meal . Bit tight I thought

Three friends and I had arranged lunch at the Chelsea in December but we were unable to make it and changed the date to January. We had paid a deposit for December so I was a little concerned when I read some of the reviews....

As a couple of local business men we decided to have an early dinner and the Chelsea was close by so we gave it a try. The menu was reasonable as were the prices but the food itself was very ordinary . It was sufficient...

Outstanding what a class place.

Waitress was rude when we tried to clear our COVID evidence of pass. She seemed more annoyed at our attempt than helpful. My friend tried to show evidence of a flow test he had just taken when she replied "Nah, that isn't going to cut it". He was livid.

The Staff are really friendly and the service was excellent, a really good pint of Guinness. Now the menu was poor very few vegetarian options, and the portions for the fish and chips was laughable, £15 for two small pieces of battered fish and a tiny pan with 12 chips in it. The food was quite good but the portions...lol.
