We come here for lunch and then come back for dinner again. Excellent Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Taste good and authentic from an Asian perspective. All dishes made by high quality ingredients, you can tell the cook is doing the job with heart. The portion is generous. The owner is friendly. The place is clean and well decorated. Soft music at the background which give you a full dining experience. And the price is not high at all. Considering the quality of food and the service I say it worth every penny.

I just visited this place, and everything was fine until the guy who was serving rudely asked when I would leave because they needed to set up tables for a party. I had my kids with me (a baby girl and a 5 years old girl) and we were waiting for my partner to pick us up. The guy complained about the noise that the kids were making and kept rolling his eyes. So disrespectful! It's definitely my first and last time here.

Absolutely excellent Thai food & highly recommended! Each dish was beautifully presented & nothing was too much trouble. The flavours are amazing! One of our party tried Yum Nuea Yang & said it was the best he'd had since he lived in Thailand over 20 years ago. Curries & Pad Thai all brilliant, but I don't think you can go wrong here. I've also visited for the set lunch & that's brilliant value for money too.

There were 4 of us (2 mums, 2 daughters) on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. The place is small and intimate, we had a lovely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We ordered a mixture of dishes, and each one was absolutely delicious, with generous portions. Keynsham is lucky to have this little gem, we would definitely return.

This Restaurant in the Keynsham High Street is somewhat of an enigma, in-as--much-as, upto two weeks ago it was only a collection point for customers who ordered on line (and still do); despite having dining tables in-situ. However, for the last two weeks it has been open to 'sit down diners'! So my wife and decided to see what dining there was like. Firstly, the restuarant is practically devoid of atmosphere, the tables and chairs are rather 'Stark' and the food is good on flavour but poor in quality, the fried chicken pieces were like eating soft wood (and we left them), also, the serving plates were quite small and suitable mainly for children. Keynsham badly need a quality 'Chinese Restaurant' and this could be it, if they up their game !

Super little restaurant in central Keynsham. Great food and great service. We were there on a Sunday evening, not too busy, attentive but not pushy staff. Reasonable price. Will come back next time we are in the area. 5 stars!

A 'game of two halves'. Appalling service but great food. If I could award no stars for service I would. Ordered online for 18.55 and still waiting at 19. 25. Staff unable to give a time when food will be available. Meanwhile, the only couple eating in have had to return half of their food as it was not what they ordered. Could they get it any more wrong!!! One star for atmosphere because, there is none. Five stars for food because, when we finally got it back home, it was delicious.

Highly recommended. Had some takeaway order delay issues on a busy weekend following new ownership, which can happen. All staff were apologetic and worked hard to rectify. The food was well worth the wait. All the dishes we ordered tasted great and the ingredients were fresh. Will be visiting again.

Great food..we all enjoyed and appreciated that. Unfortunately they had an influx of 15 orders just prior to 7pm and couldn't cope with supplying on time the 7oclock deliveries.The two young ladies in front of shop were left somewhat exposed given some customer anger at delay...but we all got there on the end. They gave a couple of us a bottle of wine for the 30min delay ..and we really enjoyed the four different dishes of food..JG

It is really rare to find vegan and gluten free Chinese - at Chef Wu there is plenty of choice on the menu, which is very well marked for allergens. We had the express lunch - the portions were very generous and everything was delicious and tasted fresh.

This local restaurant is located on High Street in Keynsham. We had to venture out of London for “authentic Chinese” cuisine. Little did we know that we had an excellent Hunan/Szechuan restaurant nearby to where we are staying until friends mentioned it to us. Being adventurous, we had to try it out. We noticed, upon entrance, that the clientele was primarily Asian. This meant that the food was truly authentic provincial-style food and that we were in for a “hot” time. We started out with soup. Arlee had hot and sour and I ordered traditional wonton soup. The soups came out steaming hot which is unusual as most Chinese restaurants in the area present their soups just the hot side of warm at best. The soups were served with a very small bowl of noodles each; but we weren’t there for the noodles. It was on to our main dishes. I ordered the spicy and numbing hot pot with chicken. It was served in a mini-wok set on a stand with a canned fire under it. Trust me; it did not need the flame as the dish was loaded with red chili peppers and other spices that not only warmed your insides but gave a nice buzz to your lips. Arlee was in the mood for something different and noticed Cumin Lamb on the menu. Most Chinese, much less American restaurants do not normally serve lamb unless they are Middle Eastern. Her dish was also liberally sprinkled with red chili peppers and other types of hot spices. Thank goodness for white rice to tone down the heat. The presentation of both dishes was very pleasing to the eye. My wife and I do enjoy the “heat.” However, the food at Chef Wu’s was a little too authentic for the traditional American palette and we would ask that they add less spice on our next visit. We now know what to expect and will order accordingly We look forward to the Wuxi spareribs on our next adventure at Chef Wu’s and will try other dishes.

I have been here with two friends and we had the very unpleasant experience of a very very very salty food. I am not sure what is wrong with this chef but I couldn’t eat the meal.

Easily the best Chinese takeaway I have ever had!! Portion sizes are great and very very tasty. Can’t fault it, we have had quite a few takeaways and they have been just as delicious as the previous order.

This was the best Chinese takeaway I’ve had. Slightly more expensive compared to what I’ve paid at other takeaway restaurants but the portions sizes are a little bigger and much more delicious. Worth every penny and will definitely be my only Chinese takeaway now!

Top quality food, calm and friendly service for our takeaway meal. I would put Chef Wu in a welcome niche in the market for restaurant-standard meals available for takeaway. It isn’t cheap, but everything was excellent value when considering the quality and quantity of expensive ingredients used. Will be our special occasion choice from now on

I order fairly regularly from here. All the food is absolutely fantastic, can't fault it at all! However sadly, the price increases are getting out of control. The express lunch has recently been increased to £9.90! Just a few months ago it was £8.50. Even 18 months ago I remeber it was £7.50. This is why I give 4 stars. Despite the price increases in the express lunch and main menu, I won't be put off, will just order less often.

I visited Chef Wu a few times. I enjoyed the food during my first two visits. Third carryout visit was a disaster. The food literally was not edible, because both dishes (T1 and V1) were extremely over salted. I called the restaurant to let them know. They said they would put the ticket aside and honor it as credit on my next visit. I called tonight to order food using my $38.57 credit, and they told me that they would only honor one dish (T1), because the other dish (V1/Mapo Tofu add pork) does not contain salt. Excuse me, but both dishes were over salted. Who cooks food without adding a modicum of salt. Despite the lack of good Chinese restaurants in this area, I will never return to Chef Wu. Customer service does not exist at this place.

I don't usually write reviews but I had to with this takeaway. Everything was bland and the salt and pepper chips had something on them that burnt my mouth and left a acidity flavour. I'm sure it was msg, just tones of it. My mouth was running for about an hour after and I only ate about 6 chips. The £10.90 clay pot rice was just plain rice with pack choy on top with the worst meat I think I've ever tasted. It tasted off, I had to spit it out. Never again.

Yum, yum, yum! Absolutely the best Chinese food I’ve had outside of China, and better than lots I had inside China! Got a take away from here on a whim and were dazzled by the variety and quality of the food. Really interesting flavours and very fresh. The portions were a great size, we have loads left to eat later.....and I’m looking forward to when I get to get hungry enough to do that. The menu was really interesting and we are definitely coming here again to work through it. Especially good vegan options. I wasn’t in the restaurant for long as I was only collecting the order, but the man I collected the food from was super friendly, smiley and welcoming. The order was prepared in good time. I think that this is excellent value for money and that the food must be made with love and pride. Good good good. Thank you.

Yet again had fantastic food from Chef Wu. This time it was a takeaway,but every bit as good as eating in the reataurant. One of the best.places to eat in the area, of any type of food.

Vegetarian can be tricky with Chinese food but will be coming here again and again as the food is incredible and authentic. Great detail on the menu and a range of choices.

Located in Keynsham high street this was our second visit since August prior to lock down been on several occasions food is excellent large portions well presented service was very quick but not rushed relaxed at atmosphere not to be missed support the local restaurant as it would be a very sad loss to loose the one

Popped in for lunch today and glad we did. This restaurant might not look like too much from outside but give it a chance. We had very reasonably priced and very fresh Chinese food with friendly service. A few pointers - this is a good option for gluten free diners because the menu is fully marked with gluten free/ non gluten free options and there are plenty of gluten free options. Secondly, be aware that when they say spicy they do mean fairly spicy. I had the panang curry (2 out of 3 chillies) and it was definitely on the hot side for my taste - to put it in words most people would follow, it was definitely spicier than a medium Nando's! 😂 But also very tasty (and there are plenty of non spicy options).

Chef Wu never lets you down! We have eaten here (both in and takeaway) many times and have never been disappointed. Our favourite is the crispy wonton vegetables and chicken satay, massaman curry and pad thai. We are always too full for dessert! The owner is lovely; polite and mild mannered which makes for an enjoyable experience. Yes you may pay a little more than you would in nearby chinese takeaways however, the food is another level here... just try it!!!

I wanted to try Chef Wu as I was curious about all the raving reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I treated the family to a vegetarian set dinner for 2 take away for my birthday, it turned out to be an amazing feast. Fresh, tasty and abundant delicious food. A bit pricey but well worth it, will repeat.

Went for lunch on Tuesday 8th September with some friends. I had a green Thai curry with crispy pork and rice. The flavour was fantastic. This is the second time we have been and the experience was great. Would recommend.

Great selection of Chinese and Thai. If you order online you get loyalty points. I really enjoyed the beef in black bean sauce noodles and the egg fried rice. The breaded king prawns and spring rolls from the mixed platter were also really tasty, as were the Thai prawn crackers. Good authentic Thai food, looking forward to going back- gyoza, salt and pepper squid and clay pot rice next I think!

I often take my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The meals are delicious and the crew is efficient and cooperative. Every time we go to this place we have a pleasant evening. I warmly recommend this restaurant.

I rarely leave reviews but have been so impressed by the quality of the food, the fantastic website and the number of vegan and gluten-free options (HORRAY!) that I felt that I had to! We generally prefer to takeaway for convenience and the food has been delicious every time. We love the loyalty points you can rack up when you order on their website too. In short, we love Chef Wu!

Visited the restaurant for lunch and can highly recommend. We had the Lunch Clay Pot Rice with chicken and Chinese mushrooms, a pork Massaman curry and a green Thai curry. All the dishes were delicate in flavour, good portion sizes and beautifully presented. None of the dishes were greasy and the prawn crackers we had on arrival were authentic and tasty.The service was excellent and the restaurant very clean. Background music was playing but not too loud.Definitely worth a visit. Great value for money too.

Here for a few nights whilst attending a course, I fancied some fushion food. Read the reviews and decided I needed to go. There is a real cross section of food, Thai and Chinese on the menu. I had the crispy roast duck and some sautéed vegetables. Great portions too much for one person so I took the leftovers home. Fast and friendly service, and appears to be popular with the locals. Highly recommend.

Recommended by friends and we had a brilliant night, the food was excellent so tasty. Service was good and so was the atmosphere in this small pleasant restaurant. We shared the mixed platter the shared a crispy duck followed by a sea food rice pot then indulged with a banana fritter, all of it faultless.

Recommend by a friend as a top restaurant and was not disappointed absolutely fantastic food and service. The prawn crackers were the best I have ever had and the mixed platter starter an enjoy to eat. My main course curry was superb just the right amount of heat and superb flavours. A great place for a relaxing meal they will soon outgrow this small restaurant I think if the food stays at this standard.

Second visit to this restaurant and I don’t know why I’m not hear more often. The food really is good. Your traditional Chinese favourites but home cooked with bags of flavour. This really is a notch up on your usual Chinese takeaways. Most of them in the local area are pretty bad in my opinion. The food here is distinctly better. Sure it costs a bit more but I think it’s totally worth it. Check it out. If your a fan of a traditional Chinese takeout chicken curry this place offers one of the best I’ve ever had. And I’ve been to China.

My wife, parents-in-law and I visited for dinner after reading a local article. The food and service were excellent. All of the food was piping hot, fresh and delicious. The chef didn’t shy away from chilli on the dishes that were meant to be hot as is often the case in Chinese restaurants. All of the mains were beautifully cooked and full of al dente veg which was wonderful. Best of all we didn’t end is with the dehydrated night that I normally associate with MSG laden food indicating its absence from all the dishes. Well done Chef Wu, I will definitely be back.

We went here with family after not being able to think of somewhere to go. We arrived at 9:20 even though the restaurant would close at 10. We were welcomed by a very friendly host. I am vegan, and looking at the menu, I was delighted. Loads of vegan options, all of them seeming very delish. I ordered a Jasmine teapot which they refilled of their own accord; very nice of them! The food was really great, and the cripsy duck starter really reminded us of our trip to China. Also, all of the food was very fragrant and tasty which is of course great :). We stayed till approximately 10:30 even though they close at 10; we didn’t mean to, but they did not comment on this. On the end we got a piece of chocolate, and the host remembered to check and tell me that the chocolate is vegan before giving it to me.

The food deserves 4 stars I was tempted to reduce the rating to 3 due to the lack of any enthusiasm from the waiter/manager there.. you could replace him with a automated computer system and it would have more charisma, but that shouldn't deter you from good food

Went here for a dinner to celebrate a friends birthday after work. The restaurant itself is small but not what it lacks in size it makes up for in the quality of its food. It’s not posh and quite basic but the food is amazing. Freshly cooked, with a very extensive menu and quick service with Excellent prices. Would highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken or ribs, they are to die for! They also offer a take out service too, which seemed very popular. Either book or get there early to avoid disappointment or try their take out service. Great little unobtrusive restaurant on the high street!

I am a regular lunchtime customer and thought it about time that I wrote another review. I have tried most of the excellent value lunchtime dishes and have always been satisfied and impressed. The service is friendly and respectful, presentation immaculate and really good food of a quality you would expect in a much more expensive menu.
