A great take away. We'll worth a visit.

The food is always flavoursome and yummy. Could just do with slightly bigger portions for the value of money. The young girls behind the counter are rude, spend most of their time on their phones and are rather blunt. Salt and chilli chips used to be phenomenal but not so good now.

Staying in the area for a few days, not the best by miles, got chicken balls instead of Salt n Pepper chicken, chicken chop suey and satay chicken all was very bland, give it a miss a go elsewhere

Thought we'd try here, as we'd used years ago & it was ok. Won't be returning sadly. 2 young girls behind counter, more interested in their mobile phones, the one taking the orders seemed totally incapable of getting anything right & didn't seem to know what she was doing. The other girl just seemed to be doing nothing. Arrived home with our order, only to find my husband's sweet & sour sauce was missing, making his meal virtually inedible as it was so dry, & it ended up in the bin. Mine & my daughter's chow mein wasn't much better, overcooked, dry, & a lot of burnt noodles. Very disappointing & definitely wouldn't recommend.

Not bad food, however it isn't as great as it has been in the past. The Egg Fried Rice now only tastes like regular rice, and the Chow Mien is a lot drier and not as nice. The Spring Rolls were nice though!

Rung up becuz unhappy with food, to be slagged off by the owner, when approached face to face wasn’t any nice, chucking my money back at me and telling me never to come back, which I never will be! How the poor young girl behind the counter deals with the blokes behaviour is beyond me because he needs a slap of reality and kindest put into him

The young girls who took the order over the phone took down the wrong name and this caused some confusion. But apart from that the food was very fresh and tasty.

Ordered a chilli beef which had little beef and was story and not cooked, spring roll was story and greasy. I used the takeaway years ago and enjoyed the meals, this time it was umder cooked or fried food which customers should not have to risk eating. NOT IMPRESSED AND DEFINITELY WOULD NOT USE AGAIN.

I always have a pleasant experience with Golden fields and the food is great. I love Chinese food so ordering from Golden Fields which is just 5 minutes away from where I live is perfect! So convenient and the service is good too!

One of the best ones in the local area - good food and lots of flavour compared to others that are in the Radstock Norton area.

This has to be the absolute best Chinese takeaway ever, the quality and the taste of food here is just amazing, generous portion sizes too, this is our favourite Chinese takeaway by far.

ordered a meal when to get it then drove home then realised they forgot something so i rang them up and they said very rudely that we had to come back up and pick it up which i did. when i got in the shop they said they aren’t able to do a refund and then started shouting at me after this a young girl with braces through the food onto the counter and said there’s your food. then another girl starting to shout. if i was the boss they would of all been sacks and they all looked like tramps

Ordered sweet and sour chicken hong kong style and sweet and sour pork - the chicken was fine but the pork was inedible and over cooked both the pork and batter. I phoned and complained and was just told that they have never had a complained about their pork for20 years and there was nothing they could do - terrible customer service- if we were in a restaurant we would have had a replacement or refund - never go there again

Absolutely shocking, we sat at waited 40 mins for our food which is fine, they continuously called out number 28 to which was left on the side for 30 minutes at least, we were last people in the shop and the boy asked if we were number 29, they then picked up the box they were calling out 28 to and left for 30 minutes and tried to give it to us, when confronted that actually you weren’t saying 29 for that they denied and one particular member of staff was very very rude and should not deal with customers , after her arguing back with me for 5 minutes they then realised that they were shouting the wrong number and the manager refused to give a refund to us and when taking food home it was all cold and had to be reheated in oven.

Very dissaponted today! Ordered a mild chicken curry and got given a shrimp curry with the rest of my order... Customer service is appalling! Never had an apology... just what do you want me to do about it! Put it right and give your customer some sort of compensation... Went back to get a chicken curry and it wasn't mild plus all our food was cold by then. We all make mistakes but main point is how you make it right. Very disappointing! Ruined our evening..

Excellent food, friendly service and food prepared freshly and quickly too. I've been here many times and every visit deserves the 5 stars.

Terrible service! They took our order on the phone and we went after 30mins as they asked. Unfortunately they had no record of our order when we went to collect. They then left us standing there in the shop for 40mins, but still no food! In the end we left and had to make jacket potatoes at home.

We use this take away at least once every 8 weeks and always enjoy the food, the service is good and the staff are friendly ……

Was given the wrong order, phoned up to inform them, had to drive back to Paulton, leaving other food which we ordered to go cold, they were very rude wen we got there and on the phone, food was disgusting and won’t be going back

Best place going for Chinese food in the area, worth traveling too locally

Having lived in several places across the UK, golden fields is by far my favorite chinese takeaway! Always order when I'm down visiting family, and I've never been disappointed 👌

Great food! Great timings! Can thoroughly recommend the crispy chilli beef, crispy wontons. We have also gone there for the chips as they are lush and a lot less greasy than the chippy!

Best place for a Chinese takeaway in the whole area, well worth the trip.

Went here for the first time today. Service was friendly but food was unfortunately poor. The sesame prawn toast was pricey at £4.60 and bland, no prawn taste at all. Spring rolls tasted like premade frozen and refried, very little filling and mushy inside. The main (king prawn in yellow bean sauce) was sickly sweet, sweeter than the piece of cake I had earlier in the day. Also asked for a large rice but got medium. I know that a lot of Chinese takeaways serve what they think people want, rather than authentic, fresh food, and maybe some people like it like this. But if you want food of this quality you may as well just buy a deep fryer and get a load of premade frozen starters and sauces in a jar from a local Asian supermarket and save some money.

Hands down, best Chinese in the area!

Love it here, delivery option on certain days too which is a bonus. Would not choose anywhere else. Food always really hot and made upon ordering. Lovely staff. You must try the salt and pepper spare ribs, divine!

Living in Paulton this is our mean Chinese and we love it, good selection all freshly made. Not greasy and a variety of food suitable to cater for the whole family. On request they will adapt the menu to suit your needs. Plus we I have always found them to be very friendly whether ordering over the phone and on collection.

The title sums it up really, the 'crispy' shredded pork, should've been called 'soggy' pork - it was disgusting, and honestly the worst dish I've ever had from any take away ever. Tried to call, couldn't get through, and certainly wasn't driving the 5 miles back to get a refund! The rest of the food was very...meh, won't be paying a visit back I'm afraid.

We have used Golden Fields Occaisionally sometimes good sometimes bad! after tonight will not go again. CURRY WAS WATERY NO FLAVOUR AT ALL ,THEY HAD NO CHIPS TO OFFER (AT 20.30) STRANGE FOR A CHIP SHOP TO RUN OUT OF BASICS. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY , AS LIKE US YOU MAY HAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER CHIP SHOP FOR CHIPS !!!!!

The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. The service is great and very quick considering how busy they are. The food is the best Chinese food in the area as far as I am concerned. Recommended.

Since moving into the area last year, we've used Golden Fields quite a few times and the food and service has always been fantastic! The preparation of meals has always been quick and staff have been courteous and happy to accommodate any requests. We collect our orders as we live relatively close by, and the staff's estimate of when the food will be ready has always been spot on. Would definitely recommend.

Placed an order and was told would be 25 minutes, over an hour later still no delivery so called to see what the hold up was. The driver had left "ages" ago according to the girl on the phone. Very very poor. Have lost our custom now and will lose more

2 months ago ordered a £30 meal for my family including prawn crackers. Meal was ok not great but no prawn crackers that we had ordered and paid for and as my husband collected he didn’t know what I’d ordered. Rang to advise no prawn crackers and was advised I would get back prawn crackers on my next order which tied me to ordering again. No refund offered Ordered tonight for delivery 40 mins minute wait advised along with my free prawn crackers which I had already paid for so they were not actually free considering I’d already paid for them. A hour and 10 mins later I called and was advised the driver left 10Minutes ago..Food delivered with no prawn crackers called to be told yet again I would be given them next time... No apology no customer service and food I had tonight was pretty crap. This used to be the best Chinese around but will certainly not be going back

Couldn't get through to usual Chinese so ordered over the phone with these. Collected when ready. Tasty, prompt,reasonably priced and homemade. Would definitely use again.

Superb Chinese. Great value for money and awesome tasty chips, also do English dishes, omelettes are great. They are always quick to prepare.

As we used to live locally, and are back in the area, we thought we'd give them a try, as they used to be very good. We were not disappointed! It is of the same high quality. Freshly cooked with quality meats and vegetables, and large portions. My other half had the special curry, which looked and tasted delicious. It was packed with large pieces of meat-beef and pork- chicken and prawns, and a host of various veggies-bamboo shoots, baby corn, water chestnuts, peppers, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, peas, onion, celery. I had a mixed vegetable chow mein. Again, packed with fresh vegetables, and very tasty. Very reasonably priced too, fast service and friendly staff. We will definitely have another take out from here if visiting the area again.

Have food from here regular always hot tasty very nice good value will recommend to a mate car park at rear which is also helpful

We asked for chicken wings and got a chicken portion with a wing attached, but this at least was edible, if very dry. The rest of the dishes tasted as if they had a dessert spoon of sugar in each dish. It was completely inedible.

Best quality Chinese food in the area

Horrendous food and even worse customer service. We ordered a crispy chilli beef and what arrived smelt off, was soggy, congealed, and inedible. After ringing to complain and asking for a replacement meal, they refused to make a curry (which costs them all of £2 to make) they refused again and again and refused to give even a part refund. Finally after us ringing for a 3rd time they offered to deliver us a curry, which swiftly went in the bin. Will be sticking to one we know this time, not one that came so “highly” recommended.

Never had a bad meal. Chicken curry is always lovely, sweet & sour chicken is lovely. The prawn crackers are nice as well. It's not the best Chinese we have ever had. But it's still very nice!

I live near temple cloud so there is a shortage of takeaways anyway! I usually drive to bath to get Chinese because to find one near me that is cooked properly is nearly impossible!

Decided to use this takeaway based on decent reviews however it wasn’t brilliant , very average. Prawn toast was not good at all and the chicken had a strange taste ... cannot put my finger on it . Would not recommend on this occasion

Lovely Chinese Takeaway, always my go to for a chinese

si found a good Indian but now cannot find a good Chinese why can you never have both , anyhow crispy chili beef was more like soggy slop, rice was under cooked but acceptable and the chicken balls were again acceptable but nothing special, sweet and sour sauce was again OK but nothing special, not really worth 16.00 tbh, i start simple and if they get that right i move onto other menu items but if you can even get rice spot on, seems to be the way round here had another chinese at jackie chan's this was so bad it didnt even get eat just plopped into the bin but you got people raving about it, i think the people down this way need to get their taste buds checked out good indian next to Jackie chans tho would recommend

My family and I love this Chinese, if we are having a takeaway then this is the first choice! Staff are lovely and I have even sent my husband in and asked for anything with chilli and garlic and they have made up something special! It's always tasty food and gets a thumbs up from my fussy five year old!

We use the golden fields as a fortnightly treat. They don't advertise any gluten free options but they are kind enough to either make a chicken or special fried rice and even Singapore rice noodles . Definitely recommend these dishes and very friendly service 👍

My special Chow mein was cold and only had mushroom in. I called them to let them know and the man on the phone put the phone down on me. I called back to ask what is meant to be in the dish, which I was told more than just mushroom. Disappointing!

We drive 10 miles for this takeaway because it's always fresh and always tasty. There are plenty of takeaways closer to us, and I must admit it's a long way to go for a Chinese, but its consistently excellent.

Lots of choice and food is of a decent quality. Ignore the Facebook page that says this business is shut, it is very much open! We were given free prawn crackers with our order which is always a nice touch.

The satay chicken consisted of 80% peppers, 10% onions and 10% chicken! The rice was stodgy and the 'cold' drinks were warm. I recommend somewhere else - I shall not be using this place again!!

Top quality Chinese take away food. Fair prices for excellent food. Service is quick, and there is a local delivery, however my place is outside of their delivery area so I have to drive there to get it. Worth the effort as the food is so enjoyable
