Magic Wok in Bath and North East Somerset

I've always loved magic wok but since under new management it has fallen down hill,chicken balls are like rocks,sweet and sour very waterd down and the rice is like eating sand with rubber meat.i will never ever waste my money in ther again.

Easily the best chinese in Bath. Friendly owners and tasty food :) Wish they delivered through uber eats or deliveroo!

Popped in to get a fried rice after watching Bath City play. My God what a shocker! Front door didn’t close properly, so this should have been a warning. Fried rice priced on the menu and board as £6.90. Goes to pay by card. Cash only, owner says fees too high, ok fair enough, gets out the cash. Price now £7.50!! Apparently the prices have gone up but she doesn’t want to change the menu cards and board as this costs money!! Illegal, as well as dishonest. Get the food home, and it was bland with stodgy rice. As I was there early in the evening it seems to me it may have been left over food from yesterday. Dreadful. Avoid.

Lived in the area for years and for some reason never had food from here. Had a great beef and mixed vegetables dish, really fresh tasting and thoroughly enjoyable, will definitely go back and price was really good. Thoroughly recommend.

Prices are 20% higher than in the pictures. High quality meal, definitely going back.

Food is greasy as anything .. and bearing in mind if your not skinny and ordering for yourself and child you will be told that chowmain not even full to the top of a small container and half bag of chicken balls small chip's is enough. Lovely lady 🤣😊, lady wasn't to know there was someone at home. And felt like I couldn't get what was wanted due to her comment, stupidly over priced for the taste ,, wouldn't recommend unless you'd like an upset stomach !

The reviews are sadly true...Reheated,hard and chewy...never again.

Absolutely the worst chinese food I've ever had, Chicken was like leather, Even the battered chicken was more batter than chicken and tough. Overpriced and rude obnoxious staff. Would rather eat my own foot.

I ordered sweet and sour chicken balls and end up with sweet and sour Hong Kong style!? How can they get this wrong?? Plus I think I was overcharged. But obviously can't prove that now.

After going to this chinese takeaway for a number of years, I can honestly say this is one of the best in Bath.. That staff are very friendly and always serve top quality food. The magic wok isn't just a takeaway it is a symbol of home, hope and fantastic feasts.

The food for takeaway is best in bath and a be tried a lot the lady owner is friendly and polite the place is clean and smells lovely when you walk in I always enjoy the food and if you want anything adding or removing then they happy to accommodate you I do wish you would take card though

Us locals find the food has a lot of salt in it. Shame visit used to be a nice place. They must of replaced their supplier because it never used to be and it didn't change managment ??

Lovely friendly lady. Just had food and it was lovely. All cooked from fresh. When I rang to say I think I was missing sing a spring roll I thought I ordered two she checked and said no just one, polite on the phone. Thanks magic wok ur food is lovely from Julie x

Pleasant lady who served me and very friendly. Chicken and sweet corn soup was bland and watery, spare ribs had no taste, chicken satay had cucumber in the sauce?!? Then the main course sweet and sour chicken and salt and chilli chicken was so tough and had no flavour. If this place is supposed to be the best place in Bath I dread to think what the other ones are like!

ate here while staying in bath mill lodge. the food was lovely but quite pricey compared to Chinese restaurants in wales.

Just up the road from Bath Mill Lodge Retreat. Very good value for money and food good quality. Dish size very generous. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Not as good as I was hoping. Thought we'd try a different Chinese for a change and this one had good reviews but it was a bit of a let down to be honest. The staff are friendly, but the portions were quite small. Only 6 prawns in prawn chow mein, only small egg fried rice available, no mixed starter option. Seaweed didn't taste like it has from everywhere else- not as nice, and had a lemon chicken dish that was so-so; not much chicken in it compared to other places. Also they charged for prawn crackers and most places throw them in for free. I think we'll stick to our usual place.

In my opinion, the best chinese in area. Sited by Bath City Football club. Unfortunately they do not deliver/ Worth a visit

Great food, fantastic staff. Use this place all the time. Best Chinese in Bath. King Prawn Chow Mein is a personal favourite.

In my opinion the best take a way in bath

We always buy our takeaway here for many years but last week was let down on our meat spring Rolls the meat not that good looked like shop ham and shop sliced chicken and special chow main meat again disappointing.

After a long journey we didn’t feel like cooking so thought we’d try this takeaway. Google reviews suggested it was good. Order came to £50.60 but ( in hindsight) should have been around £45. Spring roll was almost all beansprouts and somewhat bland. The vege ones were the standard mini type which I have always assumed are frozen. Vege Singapore noodles were nice. Sweet & sour pork Hong Kong style was awful - sauce was very think and lacked flavour, vegetables in it were ok but the pork was terrible- it was so overcooked that it was solid and tasteless. It appeared to have been cooked several times. Sadly we had two portions. The other mains and rices were just ok. Crispy seaweed was very sugary. Unusually for myself I couldn’t finish mine. The lady at the counter was (apart from the maths) very good. It was too far away, and we were too tired, to take it back. Very disappointed.

Food is always cooked fresh and the takeaway is just located on Twerton High street. Staff are honestly the best around and prices are very very good. I personally recommend you try the chicken in black bean. Quite honestly one of the best Chinese takeaways in Bath.

Only a short drive away from The Bath Mill Lodges,we were surprised to find this Chinese take-away. The menu as good, the prices even better, waited no longer than 10 minutes to have the meal freshly cooked. Would recommend this take-away.
