Best indian food. Nice environment highly recommended

I ordered an order through uber eats. Chatwala didnt sent of the dosa i ordered and the lady on phone was blaming the uber rider when his carrier box was completely empty when he gave me the bag.. When i said that, she started to accusing me that i am lying to her about a missing item. They definitely forgot to put the box in and was looking for a head to blame. We had to go ourselves to collect our order again.. She put in dry puris for us which i clearly mentioned on the phone i dont want it. If it was a mistake admit it why lie about it. And he was suggesting me to order again £5 worth of item from uber so he can send the dosa to me. The lady on the counter has no manner to talk to customers and knows how to put blame on others to cover her own mistakes

Came here for the first time to visit friends in Leicester. Was pleasantly surprised. Food was lovely and presented well. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

Order food and missed out couple of orders and then telling us to come collect it because they don't have drivers. This is their issue and should fix it as there was no one go collect the order.

The chilli paneer and chilli cassava is divine. I usually detest paneer in all its squidgy texture. So naturally, I was shocked that it was to my liking. The papri chaat was also some of the best I have ever had!

Great Chat place....loved the wadapav, samosa chat and shezuan Mojo! Close to India's street taste! Portions are pretty big too! Loved it, defo worth few visits!

Very good Indian street food, big servings and reasonable prices!

Interior could do with some new decor but the samosa and papri chaat was very nice. The drink we ordered had bits inside still so wasn't able to drink that, needs to be filtered out and some items they had out of stock, so room for improvement

First time visit chatwala the food was very delicious with good quantity and with good price .The service was also very good the staff was too cooprative .. i recommend all to visit there and enjoy the lovley food.

We visited chatwala on a sunny sunday craving chats and vada pav.. we had high expectations coming from Bombay.. and I am very happy to say that chatwala met more than our expectations.. the food was delicious and the staff was very welcoming.. vada pav reminded me of home and chaat was perfect! We shall definitely be visiting again 😃

Very rude woman on the till, we were told 10 min wait for a takeaway and after 30 mins still waiting. I said to leave the last dish we ordered as everything else was sat in a bag getting cold. She said it was almost ready but the kitchen is open plan and the chef was clearly still chopping the vegetable I ordered and it wiggled still need to be fried. I pointed this out and she insisted it was almost ready. The aubergine they “rushed” out was not crispy but slimy and not worth the wait. She neglected to give us cutlery and her attitude left a very bad impression. Certainly do not recommend this establishment especially when there are so many other restaurants on evington rd with exceptional customer service and perfect food. An absolute fail for chatwala… waste of money…

Being an international student I miss food and homemade taste .The first time I ate the food here I completely fell in love with the food which I felt like I am at home. In the past 2 years this is the best place for me to enjoy the food like I am at home . I hope the team maintains the same quality of food and taste . All the best for the chat wala and team 🙂👍

It is the best place for all vegan people ,I really like the place you will not regret coming !

Avoid this pace and save your money. The quality of food and drink was poor and the lady was very rude. No ice for drinks and the salted lassi was not traditional, just yogurt and a pack of salt. The buns with pav no butter. If you dare say anything the women gets her dragger eyes out as in how dare you.

Place was very clean. As we tried their food first time the taste was same as Indian street. I really recommend their Hakka noddles and pani puri. The staff were very friendly too.

First time going to chatwala, nice and clean place to eat. Food was good and tasty, would have given 5* but being a disabled person using a wheelchair I had great difficulty getting in because a ramp was not provided in this day and age this should be a priority.

It’s an average place for Indian fast food. The interiors are gorgeous but the hygiene is not upto the mark. The drink water jug which was given to us was dirty ! The plates had stains on them. The food is average at best. The portion sizes are not bad. Probably won’t visit this place again

Food was lovely. however, ordered on Deliveroo and pickup was 16.47, got there and food wasn’t ready (had a feeling they only started cooking the food when we turned up) so we had to wait a while so was not impressed with this.

Such a beautiful place and delicious food. Pani puri was simply the best. Really welcoming staff and service was really good. Really neat and clean place to eat best Indian street food. Must try place.

My mum was in the mood for some Indian street-food, specifically the papdi chaat which was unfortunately sold out as it was the end of the day. So instead we ordered the samosa chaat and sev puri. Both were tasty and satisfying. The customer service was good. The place has a nice aesthetic, not entirely sure it goes with the vibe of the food they serve though, bit it’s pretty nonetheless. The prices are decent mostly, some items on the menu are definitely overpriced though.

First time visiting Chatwala, as I came from Manchester, I got the bombay sandwich and it was amazing full of flavour. I especially loved the decor it was beautiful. The guy at the reception with the arm tattoo was very kind and helpful, and I will definitely visit again soon.

Best vegetarian restaurant in leicester. Food is always fresh and of high quality. Very affordable most dishes £5 to £7 with good portions. Very nicely furnished with polite friendly staff.

Ordered pani puri and it was not nice at all! From the presentation to the taste, it was awful. Tea was not great as well. Overall, I was very disappointed with their service and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Went to Chat Wala over the weekend to get a few take away items.On arrival I noticed that there was a new menu. Prices have increased and food portion sizes are smaller than ever. I would avoid and certainly will not be returning.

A great place for Indian snacks in Leicester. Authentic taste and great service. Thoroughly satisfied!! I recommend the Vada Pavs and the choke bhature. Will definitely visit again to check out some of the other items. The guy with the tattooed arm at the reception is always kind and willing to serve. I went there with my wife and our two and half year old. We had no issues whatsoever. The guy at the reception made sure we had a good time. The interiors are good too. This place definitely comes recommended.

They've got no clue how to make samosa chat. Whole thing was soggy and boiling hot, somosa was rubbish. Shere Punjab is much better.

Nice cosy atmosphere. Lovely vegetarian outlet. Food is cooked fresh and served quickly. Hakka Noodles are really nice portion sizes are decent and wont break your wallet either. I definitely recommend to try.

Food was good bit spicy and Serving Service need to be adjusted, didn't get the food in proper way like starter comes last main course come first so just need to improve other than all good.

Has to be one of the best chaats in leicester, they make the chat in a bowl made of the Flaky Puri so you get an all round crunch, nice fresh ingredients and pomegranate make it a nice looking snack, would also recommend the chilli paneer.

pani puri was inedible - my friend was unable to put it in her mouth. absolutely no filling, one chickpea at most in each of the puris. Missing ingredients - no potatoes and pani puri was not as described as the menu description. The puri overflowed with disgusting green water, which caused the whole thing to collapse onto each other.

Good size portions, £2 for a small cup of coke is a rip off! But overall was ok.

Omg, food is so good! Proper punjabi portions and great value for money too! The paneer dosa was yum yum! This is at Evington Road branch. It definitely will be added to my list of hangouts. Thank you Anu for great food, customer service and recommending the paneer dosa!

Only takes Cash. Unsure why this day and age a place just opened takes only cash, why don't they have a card machine especially during Covid. I went here on 5th January. It was quiet when we went in at 12.30pm but then it got busy and it seemed very rammed. I ordered the chips chaat and classic chaat. The chips one was standard and the classic chaat was nice needed more flavour but very cold, in summer I think it would be nice but in winter not so much. The portion was decent we also ordered a salt lassi and a karakoram chai. Total £15.

The pani puri water was ice cold and the puris were filled with water to the brim and they were literally swimming in the pani. If you like your pani puris swimming in pani then this is the place to go. It was the worst pani puri I’ve had. Sev puri had missing ingredients which I pointed out to the staff and the puris were doused in the green chutney which overtook the taste of the whole thing. Not pleasant. The vada pau was ok. I don’t know if they were having an off day but it felt that they just threw the ingredients together. I was looking forward to visiting this place but the items I ordered were under par.

Very poor customer service, the chai tea was the worst I'v ever had it tasted like water, absolutely disgusting the food was horrible. Would not recommend this place to any non Indian.

Great modern decor and very inviting. Seats are comfy and service is good. Good standard of food....but disappointing to see that they only take cash. Come on guys, its almost 2022. Much safer in these covid times to take credit/ debit card and surely you should move with the times. Its such a backward and annoying thing. Would have had 5 stars were it not for this.

Real taste of North Indian chaat. It's not a British version of chaat. Appropriate spices, delicious flavor in food... Highly recommend for a good desi chaat...!

Poor service and payment methods were very confusing - staff seemed flustered with multiple orders. Food was decent - just really poor set up.

Order a takeaway today from Chatwala Evington road the place was amazing , great staff food was delicious. Everyone loved the food at home . Definitely will order again . Going to be our regular takeaway now !

The only good thing about this place was its ambience and seating arrangement and that too since its newly opened. Otherwise they have no idea what dahi puri and papri chat is. Their papri chat was full yogurt only and other things like chickpeas, etc were totally missing. We also tried dosa which was all burnt. For me it was a total waste of money. I can name at least 10 chat place in Leicester which are way better then them.
