I visited the fantastic place quite a while back but have only just got round to leaning a review Poppadoms 5/5 Starters (lollipop chicken) 5/5 Main dishes 5/5 Restaurant atmosphere 5/5 ( sky sports on the t v)5/5 Value for money 5/5 A fantastic establishment, go visit

Called up before we got here as it was quite late, asked for a table for 4. The man on the phone said yeah come over. We got there and the man said you have to order straight away, as soon as we sat down. The menu is quite large so we were having a glance and asked if we can please have the starter and main course separately. He refused in a very rude manner and said it’s all going to come at once. We then agreed and placed our order, one of the curries we ordered was paneer butter masala and as soon as we said this the man taking the order said it’s going to be sweet to which we said, can we please have it spicy and not sweet. He then said okay and went off, when we received our food we ate the paneer butter masala and it was very sweet. We then asked someone why this is so sweet if we had asked for it to be spicy? To which he said this is suppose to be like this, if you wanted it spicy you should have said. To which my partner replied we did ask for it spicy. The man then gave a reply with a really poorly attitude, he said ‘this is a british place, this is how the food is here’. To say that it is listed as an Indian restaurant, this reply shocked us, wnd then he walked away smirking saying cheers thank you. Really shocking especially coming from a man that looked south asian himself. We then did not eat the curry, paid and then left. Will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone anymore. Food was tasteless and did not live up to the expectations at all. The service was the worse, one of the waiter was very kind however the one who seemed like he was in charge and made a comment about it being a british place was snobby and rude. I also took a photo of the curry to show how there were green chillies added in however it was sweet and tasted bad.

Food & portion size was good, well worth the visit. Will visit again when next in the area

I recently had the opportunity to visit Broadway Leicester for the first time earlier this year, motivated by their recognition at the Leicester Curry Awards. Given the considerable buzz on social media, particularly from CoolAsLeicester, I had high expectations for the dining experience. Unfortunately, I found the food to be rather mediocre, falling short of the standards set by other Indian pubs in Leicester. Despite my initial disappointment, I decided to give Broadway Leicester another chance when my preferred takeaway option was closed. This time, I ordered through UberEats, and while the food arrived promptly and at a good temperature, my choice of saag paneer was a letdown. Although the paneer was well-prepared, the lack of saag left me feeling as though the dish had been sourced from a pre-packaged option rather than freshly made. I share this review not out of malice, but to provide honest feedback for potential diners. Given our experiences, I doubt we will return to Broadway Leicester for food, as we believe there are superior options available in the city.

Lovely food with a vast variety of options. Parking is a disaster but besides that, Service was great with tables cleared regularly, not too long between courses, and happy to be of service. We were a party of 7 but all courses came at the same time. Overall, great food and service, it was a bit loud for a restaurant but would recommend it.

Food is delicious. You won't be disappointed.

Had a staff party ordered chicken and lamb curry for 60 people , and all staff commented how very nice it was , packed in a hot pot and stayed hot for three hours .. highly recommended

Good food. Regular sizzler was decent and me and the wife and I enjoyed it. It was very tasty. A lamb chop in the sizzler would be a good idea, especially for the price. Overall, it was a good experience. One touch I really liked was the fact they give u wet wipes at the end of the meal.

Broadway has been the best bar and grill I've tried, both for dining in and takeaway, compared to others. Despite not having a reservation, they managed to accommodate us, and the food was served relatively quickly with minimal wait time. When it came to drinks, the server listed our options, though I would have preferred a menu for easier selection, as I felt a bit rushed. We ordered both the Veg and Meat Sizzlers, and I highly recommend trying them. For curries, we chose the Chicken Majusi and the Lamb Tawa (requested extra spicy, and they nailed it), paired with butter naans. The service was also excellent, with the server regularly checking in to ensure everything was to our liking. One small downside was that being a quieter Sunday afternoon, the occasional glances from the staff felt slightly uncomfortable, though I’m sure it wasn’t intentional. That said, I was too engrossed in the delicious food to be overly bothered. Overall, I’d rate it 9/10, and I’m excited to return with family and friends, especially during the evening when the atmosphere is likely to be even better.

Atmosphere is hard to say, it was buzzing with full tables and lots of people having fun but you couldn't hear yourself think so was hard talking with the rest of the table. Service wasn't great, food took a long time to come out and I think the servers left us quite a long time before ordering as we were a decent table of 9 and maybe a little harder to get to. One of our meals was also forgotten. On the plus side, they took all of our orders separately which helped with paying up at the end. Food however... We amazing! Every single dish, even the chips which, let's be honest, are usually limp and lifeless, was amazing. Big big portions, tasty and fresh. Despite the service not being great, id definitely go back.

Been here three times. First time was OK. Second time was awful, thought give it another chance. Service was hit and miss. Had a separate waitress doing the drinks who hadn't a clue about another, probably a cash in hand job. Food was terrible. Gave us all belly ache for two days. Toilets were a mess, urine all over the floor. Sticky tables. Original chef has left that place (saw it on Instagram) , so food has gone downhill. Much better indian restaurants to visit. You were good once, but like all good things they come to an end.

Visited on 28/08/24 - first visit after considering the reviews and recommendation from family. its won several awards so I went along to see what this was really like. Reservations are recommended - not sure why but I will come to that. Arrived with my children. we could not be seated in the main restaurant because they were booked (we arrived at 6.30pm ish) - we were escorted to the Bar area, a table cleaned and we were seated Bar area serves beers / pre-mixed cocktails (not my thing) and a food counter area Ordered Starters Chicken Wings - they were enjoyed by my children. Tasted well and looked fresh Lamb kebab - arrived on a hot sizzling plate. Spiced and withs some flavour. the meat was hard and rubbery. Chicken Tikka - arrived on a hot sizzling plate. mediocre at best. The chicken was pre-cooked and they re-heated and tossed in onions and flavours - I think this is something most restaurants practice. Sadly the chicken was poor - it was hard (I conveyed this to our server) There was little taste but disappointingly it was hard and was NOT fresh. I know what fresh chicken tastes like. you know when the chicken is not fresh when the marinade from the first cook starts to seep into pre-cooked chicken - so I would not order the chicken again - was a waste of time and like I said it was hard, not fresh and needed more flavour. this has been echoed by friends who visited and ordered the same chicken. Mains Butter chicken was enjoyed by children but it had way too much sugar - way too much sugar ! we took the balance home but it ended up in the bin - it was just too sweet -Butter chicken is not meant to be sweet. Garlic chilli Paneer - was enjoyed and does come recommended. Naan - were amazing, freshly cooked and were highly rated by my children. Overall The chicken tikka is not fresh - I dont care what anyone says. and I would not order this the Lamb Kebab was hard and I cant see this being fresh either. I think was cooked and warned up - and like I said it was not soft - was hard and rubbery Butter Chicken - way too sweet Service from Yash was great. I fail to see how such food could be worthy of awards. I wont be going back.

Food very tasty and authentic, lots of flavour, good portion size too .. the naan breads were the old style proper naan breads yum 😋 none of your thin flimsy ones really great

Absolutely delicious food. The paneer noodles were especially tasty. Everything was very reasonably priced, and portions were large.

This was my first visit after a long time (5 years). I must say the food has improved significantly since then, especially the mains offering. The service is rather slow though, and they did give us the wrong food twice, although both occasions were rectified quickly. Drinks are price very well here, which will not leave a hole in your pocket.

Nice placed tucked away in Leicester, the food was great overall (bit too much oil on the sizzlers for my liking, but taste was good) friendly staff and good vibes.

1st visit to Broadway as hear heard great reviews!50 mile round trip but worth it. Place wax really busy for our 7.30pm table on a Tuesday night. Menu wad extensive so was drinks choices.They have full Molson Coors Range on Including Cobra Draught. Started with Aubergine 🍆 Sizzler and mini Samosas, both were lovely right amount of spice on Aubergines. Mains we had,Tandoori Fish Sizzler,mixed grill in Kadai (lovely in a lovely curry sauce).Dhaba Lamb pilau rice Tandoori Roti & Peshwari Nan. We shared the dishes between two snd their was plenty! All washed down with coors light and Cobra.Lovely food will definitely be returning.

The worst food ever had. Used to be really good and a large group of us were regulars here none of us will be going back here and we are informing all our friends and family NOT to go here. The customer service here is terrible and the food quality is very disappointing and disgusting. Tried to inform the staff about the poor quality food we had received and they replied we can’t do anything.

First time had food here the food not feel fresh and the staff service from Dev was very bad. atmosphere was nice and love all the screens makes it feel like a sports bar.

I would like to award Broadway with the worlds driest biriyani. this is the first restaurant I have ever encountered that don't supply any proper sauce with a biri. They do supply Raita, should you wish to have yogurty rice.... Dish contained so many cardamom pods / anise that I was constantly picking them out. Chicken was acceptance, but also very dry. I had phoned up beforehand but assured their biriyani is not dry and not to worry. Woke up this morning with stomach ache. Only positive was the portion was massive.

First time visit today, I certainly wasn't disappointed the food was delicious.

I ordered a medium madras to take away and a garlic chicken. Which my wife enjoyed, but the madras was full on and I'm not able to eat really hot ones any more. I had to put some yogurt in it to calm it down a bit. It was nice flavour, but way hotter than I asked for. I will be going back.

Being in Leicester after a long time, was recommended this Bar & Grill Indian by a local. Was pleasantly surprised. Quality food with good variety & good service by all staff. Overall enjoyed the food & good atmosphere.

Went with work friends, the food was great, service was excellent and very quick, we all had a great night. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend if you want a good night out.

My husband and I went there for the first time today. We dined in the restaurant where the food was delicious. The curries were good & for once, not tailored to more delicate/milder tastes. The service was good. All staff were friendly, relaxed and welcoming. We will definitely return and consider ordering on-line. The best grill/curry in a restaurant we’ve had in a long time.

You can only order food online. They do not take order over the phone but if someone don’t know how to order online that mean that person can’t have there food? I ordered at 8.00pm approximately delivery time was 10.00pm so I called and said I am coming to collect my food. Food was very sweet even after telling them to make it medium spicy. I wasted my money. Next day I got diarrhoea too. I wouldn’t be going there again.I wouldn’t even give one star.

A proper back room of a pub curry house ! First visit and wont be the last. There is limited parking and you will need to book as they were turning people away, even on a Wednesday night. The menu is a good selection of your typical curry house dishes and was delivered to us, as expected and well spiced. You can ask for dishes to be hotter if required but we found it to be just right straight off the menu. The rice was a good size but I wouldn’t say it was a sharing size. Definitively one for the list if you are visiting Leicester and after a good curry !

Was one of the best indian in Leicester for chicken. Chicken lollipop is top but this place cannot cook lamb. The sizzler is okay. That lollipop sauce is used on chilli panner crispy mushrooms very repetitive. Lamb curries are poor

Good, we had reserved a table for 5 for 5pm and were quickly seated, and asked what drinks we wanted. Atmosphere was lively due to FA Cup semi final and Manchester United match on TV. We are are footie fans so we're enjoying the atmosphere. Ordered the main sizzler, fish pakora and chilli paneer the starters were excellent paneer and fish especially. The sizzler was very decent. The garlic naan and plain naan were lovely The ordinary and why I gave 3 stars for food. The curries Lamb Dhaba and Chilli Garlic Chicken were very under whelming to say the least. The chicken wasn't tender at all cooked separately to gravy than added in my opinion. The lamb wasn't very tender at all you could say some chunks were quite chewy which my cousin refused to eat. The place in my opinion perfect to watch sports and have your bar food ie kebabs, pakoras etc but definitely not a curry

We usually have a take out....excellent every time....,£38 good meal for 4 if not 5.

The food here is amazing, I always order from here and I go and pick it up just ring the place and the food is ready instantly. Compliment to the chef who cooks such great food. Had a lovely meal today on a Friday evening vey good can’t fault this place. I think in my opinion is the best in Leicester.

Reply to the owner - if it’s a busy holiday period surely you would prepare for it? Why was the order accepted? When we rang multiple times you said it was already out for delivery but we were still waiting over an hour, then we eventually told you to cancel it.. the person we spoke to on the phone wasn’t bothered even though we were being polite considering the wait time.. If only the delivery time was as quick as your reply times and yes I enjoyed my food from another place thanks Had to wait over 2 hours for the food delivery and still had not come so I called up to cancel. If they knew they were this busy they could have let us know when we rang up to make the order

The Lunch @ The Broadway An enjoyable mid-day tasty interval with some delicious vegetarian treats. We wouldn't hesitate to go again.

A great eatery. A bit small, but the food is amazing. Well worth a visit. The Lamb Dabha was our go to dish. The naan and rice are particularly noteworthy.

Food yummmmm...service fast n efficient....ambience was fine....loved dhaba chicken,naans,sizzlers....free car park...drinks nice...no complaints at all...would suggest chef to use less food colour in their green and red table sauces and in the food. They do cater and have awareness for gluten free diet.

Looks very run down. However, didn't eat the food. They only serve inhumanely slaughtered halal as cheap imported meat as no animal welfare required. Wouldn't recommend this meat or place, even the RSPCA are trying to get it banned.

They placed my family and friends in a separate room. Food and service was excellent. A friendly team.

Our first experience at 'The Broadway' was great. Friendly staff who escorted us to our table. Delicious food as per our taste. Staff made sure we were well served. Had a nice and quiet afternoon meal. Highly recommended.

In this area of Leicester for work & found this great pub. I haven't tried the food, but the beer is spot on & the atmosphere is excellent. Very welcoming.

The broadway is my go to for quality Indian cuisine. Always amazing flavours and good portion sizes. Can get very busy at weekends so advise that you book in advance

Delicious food with excellent service.

Looks can be deceiving, it's a proper old school boozer out front with lots of colourful friendly characters at the bar. Out back is a very simple but welcoming restaurant that was showing various sports games from around the world. Lots of friendly welcoming staff on hand. The menu has a good spread of the classics and some home specials We were a group of 6, we ordered 3 large mixed grill sizzler platters, 1 salt n pepper fish sizzler and an aubergine dish. Well let's just say we didn't need a main course! The food was fantastic, the quantity and quality were spot on, as was the price and the service was brilliant, always on hand to keep the beers flowing. All in all it was a great evening out.

Only went at lunch was very quiet. Mixed grill chicken was good but was not too keen on the kebabs. Chicken dabha was very tasty. Service was great. Very friendly people and welcoming staff. Will visit again to try some of the more popular dishes.

This place is a must if you are a curry lover. They have curry awards, and it shows!! We went in on a Monday and a Tuesday, and it was packed. The Guinness is fabulous a strong 9.4 /10. The service is fantastic. I prefer to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant but that's just my preference. All dishes are fabulous and tasty, and they are great at recommendations. The portions are huge, we ordered 1 rice and 2 mains and took over half back with us! We will be back Great VFM

Good food good prices chilled vibe

Would have given 5* but for the fact they were out of spicy poppadoms, and two beers (Doom Bar and Aspull Cider) on the night we visited. Curry itself was well spiced and excellent quality.

Indian restaurants/bars in Leicester are ubiquitous and so I happy to find a place that stands out from the crowd. I came here for a family night out and absolutely loved it! Portions are massive, we ordered a plethora of curries and starters - a special mention to the king prawn tawa - unreal flavour! Great service from all the staff (brought us drinks to our table)…obviously being a converted pub with a more restaurant feel dining area at the back it could do with a bit of a facelift but very, very nice food and welcoming & attentive service. Only slight issue is parking outside can be difficult but would definitely return!
