We were the first guests and ordered vegetarian food. Crispy fresh popadoms. The tarka daal was totally delicious, possibly the best I've had and I eat a lot of daal. Same with the chapatis, freshly cooked and super tasty. The saag paneer had proper paneer pieces in it, and was so tasty. You bring your own booze if you want it. Between the two of us we spent less than £30 which is incredibly well priced for really great food. The service was fab, only thing was that the restaurant is downstairs without windows but the Arabic lamps made up for it. Highly recommended.

Amazing food lovely lamb karhai and the quality and how tender the lamb was is second to none so many places advertise as lamb but not always sure if its lamb or ancheap cut of lamb but the lamb served here was so tender, great service defo worth a visit!! One of the best! Proper authentic asain food

Chaskahs take on a jalfrezi was tasty and original, has to be one of the best I have ever had, and I have had a lot! So good that we went back two days later and I had the tadka dhal which I recommend

Went for my Dads Birthday! Great little curry place tucked away behind the Alhambra. Warm greeting, great service happy and eager to please. Nice pickle tray and starters with popadoms. Very traditional curry with bags of flavour. Even let us get our own booze and told us where to get it. Well done guys keep up the good work 🙌

We found this restaurant on line the day before we went. On the day we walked past it before we realised it was a restaurant not just a takeaway. However do not let that stop you … the food was excellent & plentiful , ( make sure you try the chilli sauce !!!) , the service is top notch . The owner is very friendly & welcoming and could not have been more accommodating .

We came for a pre-theatre meal on a Tuesday. The food was exceptional. They asked how we would like each dish served (achari med-hot; jalfrezi med; masala mild-med) and they all came out exactly like that. The achari was mine and it's genuinely one of the nicest curry dishes I've ever eaten in my life. The naan was massive, light, flavoursome and very obviously freshly-made. The pilau rice was beautifully flavoured and complemented the curry. The portion sizes were great - we didn't finish everything - and if we hadn't gone for the most expensive starter it would have been less than £50 for the three of us. Wonderful food and incredible value for money. If we lived in Bradford we'd be here every week! NB: they don't serve alcohol, but they will happily direct you to the Premier shop around the corner and they don't charge corkage.

called last night before Wicked, I had heard nthe food was goodand it was brilliant Don,t be put off by the outside or the interior, the food is amazing. after reading the reviews i thought i gotta try this place and really glad i did. usually id go where ever friends and family would say but this time i thought let's go by reviews. food was lovely and although it wasn't busy at the time i went in, it looked like lovely place to dine with family.

Lovely little restaurant with great service

A great little no frills eatery. Food was brilliant - not just good, brilliant. The lamb Bhuna was delicious and the chicken korai really excellent; generous portions, rich authentic sauces, lots of meat. Food 10/10. Service 10/10.

Our first visit to Chaskah; based on recommendation of a friend. We had been warned - dont expect anything too modern, just the basics. That's certainly what was delivered and the owner was very eager and proud of his menu. We had to try the mixed sizzler starter to share. kebabs were great, lamb chops superb, chicken tikka slightly dry, and fish a little odd (nice coating and spicy, but fish was not a nice consistency). Main dishes of Jalfrezi and Karahi - Chicken and garlic naans. Jalfrezi feature was that it was cooked with egg? Interesting and tasty. Naan breads were ok, but not our preferred style of light fluffy and crispy. More heavy and dense and a little underdone for my liking - but not bad, it did the job. Owner had run out of serviettes which was very odd; but we muddled through with the blue roll on offer. Soft drinks were nicely chilled and maybe next time we will take some alcohol in, as the owner suggested and also directed us to a nearby off-license on the night. Well worth a visit and my partner and i chatted about the experience the next day - and wanted to offer this constructive feedback. We will maybe sample more lamb dishes or veggie options next time. Prices were OK, maybe a little high in some areas. Naan breads were £3, but pilau rice was £5.95? Slightly odd that one - we stayed on breads as a result. Place was very quiet for a Friday night; but table space very limited - perhaps worth booking due to proximity to Alhambra. Thanks again.

Wonderful restaurant with exceptionally tasty food. All the curries are delicious, and I am especially fond of the karahi. Naan breads are wonderfully soft and of good size. Every member of staff is incredibly nice and helpful and the dining area is cosy. It's definitely worth visiting this restaurant at least once

Best curry I’ve had in a long time. Service could not of been better. Perfectly placed for a pre-theatre dinner, and we were even able to pick our leftovers up after the show. We are already planning our next visit.

The naan wasnt cheesy just plain and you said youd add fries with the meal but didn't, other than that it was nice

Holy moly, what a find this place was. Don't go in expecting 5 star decor, but you don't eat the tables, right? The food is sensational - the lamb chop starter in particular deserves a mention, but everything I had was superb. And the proprietor is a genuinely nice guy who really knows his stuff. Looking forward to my next visit to Bradford just so I can eat here again.

Went with my mother and Gf pre theater after reading online how good it was and was not disappointed, we were in a rush and so we got served amazingly quickly the succulence and flavour of the chicken in the tikka masala and biriani was unbelievable, balanced with the tastiest masala ever ,the naan is huge soft and fluffy, but the best bit oh my days , the best lamb karahi I have ever had in Bradford and I've had a lot! Succulent lamb on the bone with thick gravy and perfectly balanced spice and flavour i order it hot and it was just perfect great food great price and a perfect host , you must try Chaskah I can't wait to return.

Went here before a gig, had a wonderful meal. We went for the chicken bhuna and chicken karahi and both dishes were amazing, rich, dense curries with tons of flavour. Really nice staff too, will visit again

Excellent - the food is cooked fresh and the lamb chops in particular are outstanding. Really enjoyed all the curries, especially the tikka masala. Worth the trip!

We had an excellent pre-theatre meal here. My chicken achari was perfect: spicy enough without being too hot, and really tasty. Others had spinach paneer and chicken buhna, and all were v tasty. Portions were generous and the service was attentive and friendly. Just knocked one star off for atmosphere because we were the only people in, but it was v early so that wasn't their fault. This place deserves to do well - give it a try!

Decided to give em a go... Don't be put off by the facade or interior, it's functional. We went for the food!! We were given a warm greeting and seated. The owner was very helpful, caring and recommended dishes. Portions are very generous and prices are low for the quality....so excellent value for sure. The sheek kebabs were fresh, tasty with a good hit of chilli and garlic. Some of the best i've eaten in years. I ordered a portion to take home for tomorrow! ( Can confirm they were tasty warmed, the next day !) The lamb shoulder karai was perfectly cooked, with a rich sauce. The quality of meat and its freshness shone through. The star of the show for us, was the butter chicken ! Creamy, rich with a good amount of spice. Chicken was moist and you could tell it was fresh. This is the kinda place, that the owners have put maximum thought into quality and service. Do not expect luxurious interiors, nor moan about it in any future reviews, you cant say you haven't been warned. Its based on the lower ground floor, so if it's winter, make sure you've a jumper on. Park on one of the side streets by the college or University and walk down, its a 5 mins walk. Access is available right to the door of the Cafe, so you can drop your family/mates off and go park. There are 8 ish steps down to the restaurant and steps up to the toilets. To the owners, I will be back and wish you continued success.

Booked here as wanted somewhere close to alhambra theatre to eat after watching Full Monty. So glad I did there were 4 of us. Food was fabulous all fresh, so tasty and reasonably priced. It is byob which was fine as there is a Premier shop a bit further up the street. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. It doesn't look anything special from outside but really is a hidden gem. Will be back when we next come to the theatre or come to Bradford. Well worth a visit.

Service was excellent the staff were very helpful and the food was excellent! I had the chicken Karahi and my wife chicken tikka masala with pilau rice and and Nan bread to share. Would highly recommend this restaurant and it’s perfect if your visiting the theatre.

Me and my friend had a brilliant curry here this evening after visiting Bradford for a Wrexham match. The service was incredibly friendly and the food was absolutely top draw, tasty and just the right amount of spice - would 100% recommend.

There's curry, and then there's curry. My brother and I just had a fantastic meal after an afternoon at the theatre. I had popadoms and pickle tray with the very best mango chutney i have ever tasted, followed by the Lahori Chana and pilau rice. Wow! What a taste sensation. It was absolutely bursting with flavour. The service was friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout. I would definitely come again. Highly recommended.

We had samoas, kebab and rice pudding from Chaskah at the Bradford curry festival and they all were genuinely amazing in appearance texture and flavours, really friendly and enthusiastic staff and great value for money. Already planning for a visit the the actual restaurant, strongly recommended.

I visited this hidden gem with my family earlier today, wow….mouth watering butter chicken curry with fluffy naans. Lamb chops were the best I’ve ever had! Great customer service by the lads at Chaskah. Will definitely be back!
