This is a pleasant place but the food is overpriced and inconsistent. Home cooked cottage pie was sparse in meat and the gravy was like water. The steak and onion pie was bland and the pastry like concrete. Breakfast items are a better offer so I will stick to those in future. It was an expensive lesson. Better food and value elsewhere. Staff are lovely and the on-site shop is a treat but cafe food does not reflect the home grown angle they are promoting.

A regular customer since 2018 I had an issue when my card had a double authorisation on Friday 7th June, spend time over the weekend to speak with card supplier who advised it was a fault at the chase. Contacted the accounts team at the chase with no apology or concern to my issue advised they would look into this and if I had the receipt. I drove to shop to deliver receipt asked to speak to manager or accounts no one would speak to me, a customer service lady passed my receipt to accounts. Made a formal complaint online received a reply from the manager advising only one payment gone through. I wrote back advising one payment had gone through, plus a further authorisation made leaving me unable to spend over £50 from my account Received a further email advising nothing more can be done as they have received only one payment I have had to contact fraud department at bank and they have refunded authorisation back to my account. Very disappointed with the lack of service received from the chase, plus having to Make a special journey to bring in the receipt. I have checked my account, I have spent over £5000 with this shop over the past 12 months (excluding Christmas meat) and very surprised with this level of service to a loyal customer.

Caterpillar in fresh washed food, first time at this cafe driven 45mins to have a nice time with my partner, first and last time.. I’ll come here.. We ordered our food, which arrived within 8minutes..while we were enjoying the food my partners food came to life, I took this plate over back to the staff and they were apologetic, and explained how this was the cleanest kitchen, but my comment back was, if that was the case we wouldn’t have seen a caterpillar within this plate of food.. I asked was the salad washed and no comment.. full refund was given by cafe.

We visited a few weeks ago and had a lovely meal, visited today and it was the first day of the new menu. I ordered mushroom carbonara, garlic bread and chips. Hubby ordered gammon, egg and chips. Unfortunately, the majority of the chips were undercooked and hard so I sent them back and we had another portion which were cooked. The Carbonara was very tasteless and definately needed more sauce. The garlic bread was very overdone and hard with just a slight hint of garlic butter. Hubby said the gammon and egg were good.

Visited at midday on Sunday… it’s been a long time since last visit and sadly standards have definitely dropped. Ordered a cheese and ham toastie, a Sunday lunch baguette and a side of chips. Despite having great ingredients to work with the cooking was very poor. Roast potatoes and chips very under cooked.. baguette just 2 slabs of thick beef on a dry baguette with a smear of stuffing and a jug of thin tasteless gravy. Finally the cheese on the toastie wasn’t even melted. Simple dishes just poorly cooked and presented… won’t be heading back any time soon.

Like reviewers previously, we have been going to this Farm Cafe many times in the past and never been disappointed. Went for lunch and both had sandwiches . Was asked if we wanted crisps or chips to go with the sandwich. We had chips . Didn’t mention at the time we would be charged extra £1 for each portion. The sandwich with white bread was stale . Chips were undercooked and soggy . Again , the only positive was the friendly staff . Will return but only for a coffee . Wouldn’t be surprised if they have changed management

My first visit to this venue and sorry to say will be my last…massively disappointed. Starting on a positive…the staff were lovely and most friendly…and the cappuccinos were probably the best I’ve tasted. Ordered 2 breakfasts at £10.95 each anticipating at that price they’d be pretty special especially as they boast fresh local produce. The reality was far from special unfortunately. The food was at best ‘tepid’ and I inviting…The 2 sausages were burnt black and were tough and leathery like they’d been cooked hours before and just kept in a warming drawer as was the bacon. The chips were limp shrivelled and cold…I’d say the only food that had been cooked fresh within the 45 minute wait we had was the egg…for the money we paid the food was of such poor quality and cooked abysmally…it doesn’t take great skill to cook a breakfast but this was a huge fail…would it really break the bank also to put a couple of slices of bread and butter and a couple of mushrooms on the side to make it more than basic especially for what you charge?? I’ve had 100% better for half the price at Morrisons!! If this was my business I’d seriously take heed of all the negative reviews about the quality of the food on here as this is a nice venue…it is a shame that a lack of passion and effort from your chef could ruin your reputation and future success….

Avoid this place, me and my family visited a while back staff was rude but food was lovely, well we gave it another chance last week, On arrival greeted by a very miserable young girl on the till, staff very unapproachable if you need to ask them for anything, I wish I didn't spend my money in the place £40 for 3 small breakfasts we could see more plate than food and a sausage Bap, standard of food has dropped badly and 3 pots of teas and one jug off milk yes that's right one small jug between 3 teapots, we asked for more milk didn't think it would be a big deal but obviously it was as my mother had to go up to the counter to ask for the milk again and the abrupt manager said yes I'm bringing it now, My mother called the manager over to ask her what her problem was with us her reply as she pointed to my grandson you are filling his bottle up with that milk and she stated we seen you doing it last time you was here talk about been watched may I add it was to make him a tea out of the teapots we brought, she leant down in to my mom's face and replied very rude we are a business you need to purchase a jug of milk for a £1 never have we been told that until we pulled her on it, All the staff need to go on customer care course, doesn't hurt to smile not one member of the staff was welcoming, I emailed the shop asked them to check the CCTV as it wasn't hidden that they had issues with us and they offered me a £20 voucher to use in the shop or cafe, obviously I declined it, me and my family will not be visiting this place ever again, use to be busy but the recent visit we had lots of tables to choose from says it all, Managers reply was it's a business basically she couldn't care less about customers. Don't waste your money here definitely not child Friendly either.

Used to be a favourite of ours along with the fig and olive. Last Sundays breakfast was awful! Sausages were recycled and tough/hard to cut bacon was undercooked and anemic, the poached eggs were undercooked and snotty when mentioned we were offered a refund instead of which I suggested we returned on Tuesday as we were meeting up with friends. The person who served us on Sunday humiliated us at the table saying the refund was only for part of the breakfast. I expressly declined the offer of a refund as she had started to argue with me, apparently with the support of the manager. I paid the bill explaining we and our friends would be going back to the fig and olive in future where we would be treated as valued customers!!! Unlike the fig and Olive you are expected to pay at the till and by law you should be asked how your meal is as if it was substandard you could offer what you felt it was worth, in this instance less than the cost of a breakfast at Wetherspoons no one bothered to ask if we were happy with the food they seem only interested in taking our money unlike the service you will get at the fig and olive who also have a wonderful farm shop/delicatessen, garden centre /craft shops etc all in all a much better place to spend your money in a pleasant convivial atmosphere and is less than a mile or so away on Coppice Lane.

Sad to say the quality of the food has deteriorated. Not my first experience of this, but I chalked previous experiences up as one offs - everyone has bad days. Went for breakfast. Toast was basically uncooked bread with a couple of black griddle lines with some soggy mush that didn’t look like butter. Fried eggs looked great but were jet black underneath and tasted as such. Tea was lukewarm and stewed to the thickness of syrup! Have liked this place since it was just a farm shop selling compost 20 years ago, but it’s definitely gone off and I’ll now probably go elsewhere.

I’m really shocked looking at recent reviews as my family and I head here at least twice a month for brunch and the food has always been brilliant. The omelette’s, scrambled egg on toasts and bigger breakfasts are all tasty and there’s lots of choice around individual items to pick exactly what you want, and for kids too. We’ve also had coffee and cake here and I think it’s all reasonably priced and good size portions. The cafe is light and airy, does get busy on weekends, staff are polite, toilet facilities and changing facilities are good and the produce in the shop always looks great quality (we’ve only bought cake!) Dogs are welcome in the sort of porch area by the front door, although there’s only a few tables. We’ll continue to visit as we’ve honestly always had a good experience.

First things first - the farm shop is fantastic. However, we have been to the cafe a few times with poor results. Most recently, my partner and I had the all day breakfast. It was AWFUL. The bacon was burnt and everything was cold. The beans felt like they had barely been cooked. I don't understand how everything was so cold when it took so long to come out. The cafe itself is like a school cafeteria. Nothing inviting or warm about it. The staff can be a bit rude too. I really hope the food improves in the cafe because the farm shop is great.

Visited as party of 5, mixture of generations for Saturday breakfast. Menu options were good but food itself was disappointing. Drinks came quickly. Baked beans were not enjoyable and swamped the plate. One of our party ordered a roll which was not overly warm. Veggie sausages were old fashioned style which surprised me given the options now available for meat alternatives. Service in the shop was far from welcoming apart from the butcher. Sorry but just didn't live up to expectations this visit.

I came here today with a party of 9 friends and it was the most chaotic meal I have ever had. We all went up and ordered and expected our food to be brought together so we could eat together but no, this was far from the case. There was such a long gap between the food being brought out that some of our party had finished before others were even served. They gave the wrong sandwich to one lady, who had showed the server her receipt to check she had the right one. Another lady who had ordered a jacket potato with cheese was not served until everyone else had almost finished their meal. The food was good when it came but we won't be coming back as a large group as they're obviously not organised for this.

Unfortunately the service at the till was not great,we had to repeat ourselves 3-4 times as the girl clearly wasn't paying attention. The lady that waited on our table was very friendly. But before we had finished our food another member of staff came to close the Windows in the conservatory roof (the switch being right by our table) and then just as we had finished a waitress came to remove our plates and clean the table. I do understand that it was getting close to closing time but there was still 30 minutes left. Such a shame as I have been here many times but this has quite put us off. Found this place on FB so called in for the first time today. Decided to have lunch in the cafe, which is quite large because of its unusual layout. You can even sit at a table next to a window looking directly into the kitchen if you want to see what goes on. Lunch menu is quite varied, from sandwiches and snacks to full meals, and there is a specials board which had a good range of food. We both opted for the ploughman's, which came with ham, two wedges of pork pie and three types of cheese, plus salad, pickled onions, pickle, coleslaw and a piece of French Bread. Could have done with some butter for the bread, but never mind. After lunch we went into the farm shop. Not huge but a good range of produce. There was a small butchery counter where we bought some marinated belly pork and some Bombay chicken stir fry. In addition to the counter, there was plenty of choice of fresh meat and sausages in chiller cabinets. There was a good selection of fresh breads etc so we bought some cherry scones. We also bought some clotted cream, which at £2.99 we thought was expensive.

I took my elderly parents for lunch in the week, the first time we have visited here. Lots of car parking for blue badge holder. Not far to walk to the entrance. Everywhere was very easily accessible, flat with no steps. You enter a large room which you think is the cafe but then you look to your left and see a beautiful, bright orangery and then outside further seating. There was a table to suit everyone, in sun or shade, in the warm or a cooler spot. The toilets were central to the seating. Everywhere was clean, it was airy, it had a relaxed ambience. You have to go to the till with your order but there was no queuing though you are tempted by the cakes already. I was greeted by Steph who explained to me, as first timer visitor, about the ordering etc. She was so bright and pleasant and made me feel so welcome. I was given cutlery and a table number. As I sat down our teas were already delivered to us, a pot each and there was enough for two cups out of each. The food was served promptly. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I asked for a brown bap but as they didn't have one I was offered bread instead and the sandwich was unbelievably nice, I mean it's just a sandwich isn't it? Of course not I had salad, crisps and coleslaw and it was the best ham. My parents had the gammon and scampi and again it was delicious and it all got eaten. For £33 we thought it was the best meals out we'd had in a very long time. I asked about booking and yes you can book although on a Sunday only if the table is for 6 or more. However if less you can turn up and almost certainly be guaranteed a seat. All the staff were very affable and happy to talk and answer our questions with a smile. If I didn't live in Scotland now I would be back in there every week. Thank you very much for a delightful visit and I wish you every continued success.

I went for lunch today with my nan and mom they had tomato soup and said it was the best soup they ever had in a long time. I had chicken and mushroom pie with mash vegetables and gravy. My pie and vegetables are great with a fruit somthie. But the mash is a bit lumpy tastled great but you so need to mash it probably and the gravy tastled watery it had no tastle or any meat flavours what so ever it was the most boring gravy I ever had. I have been coming here for years and the food is always the best food in the West Midlands with the best gravy ever but today the gravy was a let down.

My first visit absolutely blew me away, the food was moreish, perfectly sized and made an incredible choice for my date. The staff were fun, friendly and not afraid to have a laugh and joke whilst maintaining excellent customer service professionalism. As a waitress myself I was thoroughly impressed with every aspect. Steph really stood out with her kbowledge of the menu and willingness to change out a few ingredients, and a few of the other ladies (but I can't recall their names unfortunately).

I emphatically agree with the other reviews I’ve read for thi cafe. I have visited several times a week with friends and family for the past few years. The problem they now have is that the friendly, polite staff have now left. The remaining staff are curt and miserable when serving you at the til, with the exception of a couple of junior members. We are extremely polite and friendly people but there is only so much you will put up with when spending over £50 a week. The attitude makes for a stressful experience rather than a happy and relaxed one. If I were the owners I personally would advise saff that it takes years to establish a thriving business but weeks to destroy one and the single most thing that will keep people away is curt and short tempered staff that take both your money and their own wage packet for granted. Sad to see this place going down as the food is wonderful but the attitude will most definitely keep my party away.

We have been coming here for a few years now, however it seems to be going downhill recently. The staff are ever increasingly unfriendly towards us. We feel they have got “complacent” because we are weekly customers so they feel they don’t have to put any effort in whatsoever as we will always come back... which we won’t! We have started going to Michell’s centre bistro instead. When ordering today I said to the server as we were paying “oh sorry, I’ve forgotten the extras on my breakfast” to which she replied with a tut and huff. This is not the first time that it has happened. There is never a smile on their face. You feel like you’re putting them out when ordering even though you are paying a lot of money as you can get breakfast for a much cheaper price elsewhere! Just a note, there is a lovely younger lady who always has a smile on her face and makes us feel very welcome.

We went today (28/04/2018) for breakfast before a visit to the farm shop. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast and my partner a light breakfast. Restaurant had been busy earlier, dirty plates were still on tables and the tables needed wiping down. We’re were not advised of any delay when ordering, but after a number of customers subsequently placed orders they were being told there was a 30 minute delay, two groups of customers walked out when being told this. Drinks came out first and then food after 28 minutes, food was just warm, not what we expected, won’t be going again, will go back to Mitchell’s Bistro instead.

My lunchtime meal in a clean, airy cafe was well presented and it was served within ten minutes of our arrival. By 1.00 pm the cafe was full but the atmosphere was pleasant and it was easy to talk. Coffee and tea were served and there was no pressure to leave. There are plenty of spaces in the car park and the surface is sound. A working farm surrounds the cafe and there is a strong barrier fence.

Been visiting Chase Farm on a weekly basis for about 3 years. Usually pick up some of their excellent sausages and fresh eggs before nipping for toast and coffee before heading home. After the last 3 visits we’ve decided to throw in the towel in terms of frequenting the cafe at any rate. The problem is that they cannot deliver hot drinks and food simultaneously. The coffee (which is excellent) arrives first and any food ordered can take up to 20 minutes (yes we timed it) to arrive. We took the bull by horns recently and asked for all our order to arrive at the same time but all that happens is your hot drink is prepared, gets left on a counter to cool waiting for any food ordered. If your simple order of toast is behind an order for half a dozen full English brekkies then you’d better take a book. BTW - toast should be both warm and crisp. It should not arrive like the bread has been left out in the sun. You shouldn’t be able to stretch a slice of toast. Was a great cafe but sadly no more.

Called there on Sat 24/02/18 at about 2pm for a spot of lunch, hoping that it was not too late. Fortunately it wasn't and after looking at the menu all three of us decided on the gammon, chips, egg and peas. When the meal arrived we were very please to see that the gammon was not a thin slice but a generous hunk perfectly cooked on a griddle - tender and moist. No complaints whatsoever - nice staff, pleasant dining area and there was 'no rush to move you on'. We eventually ended up in the farm shop where we purchased some of the gammon we had previously eaten - delicious as well.

Plates on which the breakfast was served were cold, eggs and hash browns were cold, not very good at all. Additionally, the staff were not very welcoming particularly those serving behind the counter. Disappointing!!

Visited Sunday afternoon for a drive out. Shop is high quality food but very expensive if your used to supermarket prices. Cafe is again nice food but lacks ‘atmosphere ‘ fairly long wait to have food and drinks delivered to table.

I have visited a number of times and always felt that it was overpriced for what is really a small tearoom/cafe. However, there is a good farm shop which is locally supplied and the cafe always looks as if it should be good!!

We went for breakfast, ordered the farm breakfast + cappuccino-I asked to swop the Hash Browns for mushrooms, my husband asked to swop the beans for tomatoes. The lady at the till informed us we could not change anything. She offered to take those items off and add the others which we would be charged for in addition. We were not prepared to pay extra and felt this service is very customer unfriendly as the choices are not great to start with. We won’t be going back but maybe the owners of the cafe want to rethink their attitude towards customers- here is a picture of what you receive for £ 7.95 - not good .

We went to pub for a Sunday lunch this was a real disappointment We ordered roast beef dinner and a pork belly we ordered extra mash As it didn’t come with mashed potatoes. I ordered portion of stuffing to go With the pork as it did not come with stuffing. Ordered a small Pepsi and a tonic Water the bill came to £56 bit pricey for pub but wanted to try any way . Staff were nice enough I did ask for my pork belly to be crispy but I think they put it in deep fryer not good Beef was overdone so we did leave most of the dinner very disappointed won’t return shame as We often go out for Sunday lunch . I usually have a pudding and coffee but just felt this place is over Priced and not great .
